Biggest fear of upgrade in 5.1

I'm about to upgrade my vCenter Server 5.1.  My biggest fear is to lose connectivity to my guests, but I guess that even if the host on a host Agent fails to upgrade, I can always access each host individually through vCenter Client?

I guess that the 4.1 or 5.1 client vCenter would work in this scenario?

Please let me know.

Yes, anything, you could manage the host directly through the VI Client.

My new PC arrived a few hours ago. After a few minor issues, it works.

I am very impressed, it's much better than I imagined. My biggest fear was the installation of my SSD. I've seen a few videos, how to install it on a system with regular air cooling, but I waited tons of pipes to prevent me from accessing my ports.

Was shocked when I unscrewed the hypothesis aside and realized that it's still easier than the version at cooling by air. Even for a person like me, with a little big hands and fingers, it is almost impossible to break whatever it is, if you want to add an SSD. My old computer was about 3 x the size of this and it was horrible to have access to one of these ports, for a noob like me.

However, I lack a few cables, so I can't test it. For now, I would like to prepare a few things, and I have a few questions:

-I will not use the operating system on the HARD drive, once I can plug my SSD, which has windows 7 already installed, I intend to format. Lose any sort of warranty when I do? (in spite of the specific software McAffee and Dell)

-In case there is a problem in the future, to return the PC to Dell for repair, I have to remove my SSD and before additional cables?

-In which case I can not find a good solution for storing the SSD inside of the case, I thought out ports and in reconnecting it outside. To do this, I have to be a hole in the beautiful case - that I don't really feel like OO - that would be detrimental to my warranty for the system as a whole?

-Another idea was to remove the power cable connector and pass each litz wire to the rear end of the carcass and put them through the ventilation grille and plug in the connector across it. It is also something I want to do, if possible. For me it looks complicated and stupid, but could work. Could it be?

    FS5.directupload.NET/.../b8o3sstm.jpg

-Videos on youtube suggest to fix the SSD inside, but the orange marked points are too small. I have a SATA one 'old' it's quite thin, but still too thick to place it there. And the most often suggested optical drive is not available for this PC. Currently I think to be placed on the coverage area, red side. Unfortunately, this area is not completely flat. So I just can't put some Velcrow here. I need to create a flat space with a few sheets of plastic, where I can put the Velcrow and then fix the SSD. Now my question is: if I create a socket for the SSD and install it, must it be removable - in case I need to send to Dell for repair?

-The next variant was to use the green area in the image, that the gap between boards. If I put a T piece, I could place the SSD on top of it. This seems to be the easiest solution so far. I've got the materials to create such a piece, that I don't know how to fix on the flat metal. The gap is a bit narrow, and I'm sure that double-sided tape will work for a long time. I intend to place the computer on its side, which means that the T-piece would be maintained vertically. But due to the cooler of closing the vertical part must be a little longer and because of the tension of the cables, he must remain in place or damage other parts: s. anyone got experience with this? Any suggestions for glue? And same as above, I have to remove it in the event of repairs?

-My last idea was a bit easy to remove, but not so easy to install. I would use two blue areas on the photo. On the right, I would use the holes in the ventilation grid to put two sticks in. Those who would go right to left where I could put just a bit to cylinder block horizontally - where I can set the two sticks. Then I could just use some cord, wire or tape to attach the SSD on the sticks. The sticks would be made of wire, metal, covered with Scotch. What do you think?

I have to admit that I'm not a professional with material things. Which probably exacerbates the situation together, but I'm a few steps away from my goal. I'm happy for ideas, suggestions and criticism. I doesn't do anything yet, except in the cases of opening and plug in an additional SATA cable.

Thank you and sorry for the long text.

    See attachment X 51 - ssd.jpg.

My X 51 R3 is water cooled and the HHD is below the video card Nvidia GeForce GTX 960.

I used Scotch Permanent Double face foam, mounting tape and asked my SSD drive on my HHD drive. The video card has no problem editing in its support with the SSD on top of the HHD. Use two small pieces of the size of your little fingernail of the figure. More and you will never get the SSD to the coast of the other disk HHD.

You have two black HHD Sata connections. You can change which drive is primary and secondary by changing the order of the cables. The black connector next to the blue sata (DVD) connection is a primary drive (in the image of jpg the Red sata cable is plugged into the main connector). Connect the SSD in this regard and the SSD is the startup disk.

You can Motors manual switch at startup by pressing F12 and selecting the drive you want.

You may need to run the Disk Manager to make sure that both drives are online.

There is a video on YouTube is very well show you what cables you need.

  • The upgrade to the CSA 5.1

Although there is no way of migrating to 5.1 CSA, it is conceivable to build from scratch, re - write the rules and redeploy the new agent.

Has anyone tried this before? I have? m looking for success and horror stories. My biggest fear is the redeployment of the agent? I guess just re - install a new agent over a former agent is not smooth.

If you go to maintenance > Export/Import, you can export policies, variables, etc... then import them into the new version.

If you simply export a policy, it exports all rules support, variable, etc... If you do not have to fish around.

  • What are the ways to vCenter 5.1 5.0?

I have vCenter 5.0 with joint hosts, most of them is ESX 4.0, two of them is a 5.0 ESXi. I would like to upgrade vCenter to 5.1.

What is the best and least disruptive to do? I am considering an upgrade in place against the construction of a new 5.1 vcenter and then migrate all hosts in

This vCenter. What is the best and least disruptive to do? Both are considered as valid ways to achieve the same goal?

    Thank you

Another option that you have, and the way I just made, must continue to operate your vCenter 5.0. Start the installation for the SSO to the ISO 5.1 and get that working first. It is not interact with 5.0, so you should not spoil anything. Once you have that working, you can install the WebClient service too and also get that works - it interacts with SSO, then you can experiment and make sure it's all happy. Once all this is done, take your time, and then do the rest of the upgrade to vCenter 5.1.

I guess ours was a fairly simple installation - we run all services on the same Windows Server vcenter, and we were already in SQL 2008, so it was not too serious - it was with 13 ESXi5.0 9 ESXi4.1 hosts and about 180 guests.

The WebClient/SSO Service took me a few hours to do in February, and the last part of the upgrade to vCenter took a few hours of time to do last week. Of course, you can add another + 2 hours for installation of syslog, dumper, autodeploy, vShield and other pieces that you have.

My biggest fear was of all the horror stories I had heard about the SSO installation, that is why I am and out of the way first.

Of course, I'm always build and test my image ISO ESXi5.1 of installation etc.

  • Is there a form ANY of PhotoShop software that I can buy/download on my computer Windows Vista Home Premium?

Usually I am well aware, adobe does not support Vista.  However, I need PhotoShop to continue my work off campus during an internship.  I honestly don't care if it's CC, or elements, but I need a program that allows me to edit the photos.  I don't want to jump the gun well and buy some CD or download software that ends upward is not compatible.  I apologize if this is a strange request.  If someone asks me why I still have Vista, the answer is essentially:

    (1) there is a computer for 5-6 years and this is the program it is came with, at the time (and that I'm used to)

    (2) as a student at the University, my biggest fear of switching to Windows 7 or 8, it's that they are not "user friendly" as some people have placed (even once, student here so the LAST thing I want is not being able to find all of my documents... my father is currently having this problem with Windows 8)

    (3) I'm not too keen on the upgrade to Windows 7 or 8, unless it is a last resort, AND I must not copy everything on my computer on a hard drive and then move it to after the upgrade (I'm not that tech savy so I fear, I will mess something up)

I apologize once again if it seems strange or anxious about me, but I really want to continue to help the teachers at my school buy work on this project (they already deal with issues of setting up the MAC it to work with the new website).  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Detach the 3.5 data store and pick up VSphere

I have an ESX 3.5 Server (no updates).  The server has two data warehouses.  The first is physically located on the server and the second is a DAS MSA-60 and is connected to a separate controller.  I want to install a new copy of VSphere 4.0 U2.  I moved all the VMS to the DAS storage and there is NO data on the local data store servers.

The plan is to turn off the server physically detach from the MSA-60, install a new copy of vsphere, turn off the machine physically re - attach the MSA-60 and restart.  I guess that Vsphere will see the data store immediately, or maybe that I have to scan for it and my vm will be there.  Of course, I'll have to their inventory, upgrade tools, then upgrade the hardware.

My biggest fear is that I'll lose the virtual machine.  Any reason why this happens because of the process?

    Hello

It sounds good, your virtual machine is not deleted if you disconnect the storage before the formatting of your server.

  • How can I disable the affiliation platform 'Improve text' which is present on all my web surfing

When I use the Firefox browser to surf the web, on nearly every web page I visit an invasive advertising platform creates the anchor links on web pages (keywords anchor with two hyperlinks under the anchor Word) which, when clicked takes the Viewer to an advertisement. Most of the links seems to be part of an advertising belonged to 'Enhance text' platform, I contacted to complain. They played kind of stupid. I said I thought it was the result of some malicious software where they were the sole beneficiary and they assured me that they instigate it. I went on the Warrior Forum, and some members suggested it sounded like he just one of your extensions or plugins. My security and rubbed my computer technology consultant and they removed some of your extensions and plugins and the problem disappeared. But two weeks later, he is back and she is omnipresent. Even words in my online bank accounts show these text links.

Apart from security issues, my biggest fear is that they fly the traffic on the Web sites I publish - Web sites where I'm selling either my own or affiliate products. And that bothers me a lot.

I don't know that I'm not the only user of the web that encounter this issue. If other web publishers also get their traffic flown and directed to a competitor's site, you can bet that there will be a class action lawsuit on the horizon for Mozilla. So I suggest go you to the bottom of this situation and remedy, because legal action will be the inevitable result.

I don't want to alarm you because I use Firefox as my main browser. However, I checked IE, and Chrome and Chrome presents the same situation. So I don't really know how this happens, and this is why I am contacting you in this regard.

Please let me know if you know how to disable this invasive pest.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite L350D-213 - restoration of the factory without disks

    Hello

I came to this page because the Web, so many people say you don't need a disk and many others say that you do! {Massive headaches} CONFUSED!

After last week, ending up with the UKASH virus on my computer, a friend helped and explains to go into MSCONFIG in safe mode and disable all, then I could finally get into my normal settings and do a scan to wipe it. I ran ad-aware, but later removed that he had fallen behind EVERYTHING, including IE. Then, I saved all my stuff and deleted from my computer to make room. I then did some general research and followed the instructions. "speed up my performance" followed by a few scans/clean ups and Defrags.

I don't remember what I did to remove panic and difficulty Ukash and performance thereafter, except that I know that some applications do not work, because of a name of a file I know I deleted as 'my speed' and some I do not know why they do not work.

After spending TWO WEEKS on this issue, it is better, the UKASH went, my performance is faster BUT the strange problem of a file, and I'm done with him! I want to do a factory restore to put all rights that I can and have done wrong.

My question is; Can I do a record of WITHOUT restore factory, I don't remember if I've ever had a recovery disk, but if I did, I don't have any him more as they have become lost or misplaced.

    What are my options?

My biggest fear is I'm at half way through the restoration of the factory and it prompts for a disk and I don't have. I also drive HARD recovery on my laptop on drives C and D.

(System Restore does not work for me either, I have no restore points or can I create one, so another reason why I need to do a restore of the fctory)

    Kind regards.

In your situation you should not spend a lot of time speculating on what the people are saying. In the user s manuals document described clearly how it works with the recovery image installation, creating recovery image and what your options are.

In my opinion the best solution for virus affected system is new and clean install of the OS. It's certainly more radical solution but, I think of easier and faster way to have own OS again. The first step is the backup of the data, if possible and recovery image installation (factory settings).

Recovery image can be installed on two ways:
1 as described on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm HARD drive recovery facility
2 with recovery disk created recovery image installation

I presume you didn't create this disk so that you can do now is to order on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

In any case, try it please with option 1 and send feedback.

  • Replacing hard drive internal on HP P7-1258

    Hello

    First post here.

So the other day, I get a message that my hard shore has crital errors and failure is immenet. I'm going to the store and buy a new HDD internal.

I pop open computer and install the new hard drive. I then install Windows 7 Ultimate (separately legally purchased copy) on the new internal drive. All right. Start-up of the new drive off the computer and I am able to copy all personal data on the new internal drive until one fails.

I feel comfortable enough to make the above.

Here's where things get odd (for me at least):

I tell myself that I would like to delete the original internal drive because it is no longer used. I unplug the power and sata connectors and start the computer. The computer will not start. I plug the original drive in and booting the computer. I am convinced that the computer starts to the new drive.

I really don't mind that the original drive is still there. But my biggest fear is that if the drive actually dies, and then I can not start the computer.

Could someone help me understand the wh ythis happened and how I can possibly change things so that I can remove the original drive?

    Thank you!

    Mark

Well, I found my problem, but it was a lot more serious and a lot of time than expected.

When I formatted and installed Windows 7 on my new hard drive, even if I made a 'clean' of Windows 7 installation, it the only not reported the new partition as a SYSTEM and an ACTIVE partition (even if, after all that I read about). So, without these flags, the machine can not officially start from this new album.

I had to wipe the new drive and inform manually to be a SYSTEM so a partition ACTIVE and install a new copy of Windows 7 again.

Once I did it, I managed to remove the original disk and the computer boots from the new drive with no problem.

Which was pretty much a full day's search, confirm and then reinstall the operating system and all my software.

Here is the link to the forum post that led me in the right direction:

  • How can I check if I have a virus in the BIOS and what is the difference between formatting and full format in Windows 7?

    Hello

Recently I found a rootkit on my computer, especially rootkit.tdss.tdl4. Of after I read that I got one of the best!

    I have two questions:
Firstly - how can I check if my BIOS was hit without blinking? I read that this Trojan horse could have started exactly from the BIOS, and very likely to stand again after doing a clean install. I have a laptop HP seems like flashing procedures require to disconnect the disk hard - is this true for laptops?

Second, is how I format to ensure that clean the MBR? I have Vista and want to upgrade to Windows 7. I have Windows 7 upgrade ultimate disc that can do a custom install which should format entirely. Tell me if I think too old school here but should be low (or zero) format is required? From what I've read, the function of full format of Windows 7 should be as powerful as the low level. is that correct? I don't mind the overtime work as long as I don't have any problems (at least with this Trojan) later. I also fear that upgrading Windows 7 disk might not have all the features of formatting as a full version, which is a nonsense?

Thank you very much for your help!

  • Windows 7 & Skylake Intel CPU support

I'm looking to build a new rig and want to continue using my Windows 7 existing license until the end of LIFE product in 2020 (or until 10 is radically improved or something else comes out).

By watching Z170 or x 99 platforms... leaning towards Z170 to allow future events.
During my research, I discovered the gen 6 new Intel processors Skylake will receive only Win7/updates on day of support until 2017.  I've also heard the Skylakes will be targeted and forced to upgrade to Win10 via Windows Update.  Are one of these true?
What are the other "newer" Intel processors (4th/5th gen i3/i5/i7, Haswell, etc.) that are currently planned for Win7 support 2020 pursuit?
In addition to my questions, please provide any additional info, you can share this topic.  Thanks for your help!

Actually in charge in what concerns the ends win-7 2020 and I guess, according to many users, it will be expanded as x - p,.

However, Intel is :), there is a difference of 18 months

Not to mention that it's only in what concerns the new drivers of your cpu or the motherboard will not stop working :D

Support, however, depends on what kind of problems you might face = probably none is I think it's just a tactic for fear of upgrade.

M$ is desperate to make everybody buy in this stupid upgrade and eat it too many licenses of win 7 because they can

There is no real reason 7 and 10 cannot co-exist unless M$ wants no more than 7 on the market.

  • Feature of live stream on app webworks

    Hi guys,.

So I try to create an application that needs constantly to get data from a server at very regular intervals. Now I know everyone would jump to their feet and saying 'PUSH NOTIFICATION', but just before you do all this conclusion, pls take into account the following conditions.

    1. each user should be logged in order to access the app and would receive the data according to different variables together (different users with different content)

    2. There is a high volume of data received in one day so I'm a little afraid on the quota push push notification.

    3. I need the application to work like the way work the twitter for blackberry customers. When new tweets are automatically responsible even when the user is not at the forefront of the application.

My biggest fear with the help of push notification is the various factors considered before determining what data a user receives. Also note that I've set up push notification in an earlier application and it works great but I am seriously looking at other options for this solution. Web Sockets would have been a great option but its only available on bb 0s 7 +.

You are right regarding the polling stations. Basically, the client sends an Ajax request to see if there is new data, and the server responds with the State or new data.

To activate Javascript and networking of execution, while the application is reduced (i.e. running, but not highlighted), you must ask the permission of run_when_backgrounded:
    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/HTML5/documentation/rim_permit_element.html

If you include the blackberry.push, you get this feature by default as well.

That being said, if the application is closed, you won't be able to run polling stations and will be able to listen to the incoming push notifications.

  • Muse menu react only not to the widths as it does in design mode

I work to make my website suitable and spin the issues with the menu. I have my menu locked on the right side of the screen so it slips in as the width of the screen becomes smaller. It works fine in design mode. When I saw my site in some dimensions, the menu continues off the screen instead of move. My biggest fear is one of my master pages which serves 17 of my pages. The menu works fine on 16 pages, but one page cut the last button of the half that remains out of the page.

I also have problems in the foot with a block of text is centered on the screen. This is another case where it works very well on design mode but when I saw it, the text block is off to the right.

Does anyone know how to solve these problems?

I was partially able to solve this problem. I had two master pages who acted upward and to play with one, unlocked the menu resize and I was able to set the menu to lock, when unlocked it is lacking width sensitive. That solved the problem for one of my pages, but this is always the question. Anyone know how to unlock the menu resize? This seems to be the final fix that I have to finish my website.
