  • Envy Touchsmart Windows 8.1 update 15-j05cl - black screen

Have a HP Touchsmart, envy 15-j057cl. I can't upgrade to Windows 8.1. I did the following:

    1 installed all windows updates.

2 went to HP support for machine page and installed all the drivers.

    3. don't run Windows - no problem identified compatibility Manager.

4 deleted Norton preinstaled. No antivirus software is enabled.

    5. attempt to update the Windows store.

    6. black screen.

Back in Windows 8. Windows has reported various attempts through error messages, including:

    0xc1900101 - 0x3000D

    Then-

    1. drivers for bluetooth and Ralink wifi disabled

2 attempt 8.1 windows update of windows store

    3 black Screen

    Back in windows 8

I tried very hard to make sure I've gotten all the latest drivers and BIOS, including the chipset drivers. I have not installed any other software. I also disabled any driver that I can not have everything while the update fails.

I need to get back to work. Any thoughts?

    Thank you...

The saga continued, but it had a happy ending.

On the advice of the HP support, I uninstalled the driver Intel HD, booted safe mode and then tried the Windows 8.1 update. This time the update completed, but he returned to the black screen when I tried to install version 8.1 of Intel HD display driver. At this time, of course, it wasn't able to go back to Windows 8.0, so I had to completely reinstall the operating system from scratch. Good thing, I had all my saved data.

After this experience, I gave up for a while, but he contacted the HP support to express my displeasure.  I went to a case manager, who contacted me the HP SmartFriend support.

Today, we did an update of the BIOS. This new version of the BIOS F.53, just released on March 10, 2014 (after I had made my last attempt to make the update). After updating the BIOS, I have successfully completed update 8.1 Win. I then checked to make sure I had the latest version of the Intel HD Display Adapter driver and I did. Actually, the pilot that is displayed on the page for the driver for my machine was older than the version I have installed. So far so good.

It seems that the solution to the problem was for HP to do a BIOS update.

  • Windows Update: 1 or several updates made a black screen after restart

So I have this problem for like 3-4 months ago... You all a long history, he gets to that: an update of specefic is originally that when I restart, the computer still works, but the screen is all black. Not even a light down there!
    Someone knows this problem?
The update that I am sure that all this is cause:
KB929729 (a security update for Microsoft .NET Framework, version 1.1 SP 1) - I think this is the one, but could be one of these schools:
KB957000 KB952714, KB929735 - all these are just regular updates for vista x 64-vista systems

I have the laptop to fix where I bought it. They said that the problem has been resolved, but it didn't. Well, the computer worked as if after I came, but after a Windows Installer update, the system crashed again with black screen.
Fortunately, I was able to use an ERD to do a system restore to before installing the update.

    MY LAPTOP SPEC. :
Windows Vista, home Edt. (SP1 has not been installed now, but had SP1 when the 1st problem started)
Processor Intel Core Duo CPU 2.4 GHz
    4 GB of Ram
    NVIDIA Geforce 9650 GT

OK, I'm pretty sure it's KB929729 (a security update for Microsoft .NET Framework, version 1.1 SP 1)
She is marked as an important update, hope that I can live without it?

  • Corrupt BIOS V5 531 Acer black screen after startup, f2 and f12 also. Repairable?

    Hello

Yesterday I tried to install Win 7 if I could play D & D Neverwinter on Arc after using * nix systems study (looking to start a career as an administrator). I had plugged into a power strip that was, unbeknownst to me, turned off and I went to make coffee and watch some news. When I came back to check the progress of my laptop was powered off and since then I havn't been avle start without being blocked at a black screen after the start page of the bios. The f2 and f12 also leads to a black screen, I can not change the boot device or enter the bios Setup.

Is - fixable at all? For example, is the a key-combo, I can use it to restore from a backup bios? Or, do I have to bring in a technician who can install a new chip bios or flash this old some how? Or did I brick pemanently my device?

V1.22 is what you want to be part of a unit of Windows 7.

The problem is if it crashed during the upgrade process, it will take some special tools clearly on the chip on the MB and recharge it with a new BIOS. I would contact your local support team to see what options are available.

    Hey zezimb

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

If that does not read this information

the link below is how to download and get a vista disk startup repair, which you can start from the

Here's how to use startup repair system restore command prompt, etc. to bleepingcomputers link below

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

And make sure you only set the CD/DVD drive to be 1st in the boot order to boot from the drive that you have just made

to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start

It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu

Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order

    http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/change-boot-order-XP-Vista/

and if all else fails and you need to reinstall vista are the normal methods for computers preinstalled vista portable

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send vista recovery discs

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

  • NTFS check... black screen now? Help

Yesterday my computer started to appear a message, something about a "runtime error, c:" I turned it off for the night, when I rebooted the computer, he does control of 3 phase on a blue screen and says something NTFS file and the folder C:. • Cannot change the screen resolution. Help, please

I recently reinstalled Windows XP (service Pack2) on my computer and restored the office to the factory settings. Now, the screen resolution is stuck at 640 x 480 and 16-bit color quality as this was not a problem before. The screen that appears under 'type of screen' in the advanced settings menu says "default monitor" and the properties button is not clickable. I tried to connect another monitor to the PC, but it doesn't help. Can someone help please I really need to change the resolution of the screen to a higher quality? Also, the PC has an internet connection if that makes a difference. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

... What other drivers in addition to the graphics card and network card should I try to install?

In fact, those who are newer than your current drivers.

I understand your reasoning for installing the monitor driver, however, I'd personally chipset (motherboard), video, audio and network (LAN) first. After updating the video driver, there is a chance that it recognises so the screen correctly.

I don't know if you have reinstalled Windows XP from floppy disks to install Windows or Dell installation/recovery disks or partition restore hidden, but nevertheless, the drivers that were installed during installation is as new as the installation media. Given that the media are at least 5 years and more (maybe 8 years and more), there is an excellent chance that all the material and device drivers have been updated.

If you know the serial number or the Express Service Code on your machine, you can enter the page linked below and it should display all the downloads available for your computer. • Can't seem to fill this section with black... Help, please!

    Hello

I took this picture of this jaguar and fortunately the fence was blurry... but unfortunately it makes parts of Jag to be discolored. I managed to follow a video that taught me how to... Range of colours-> create-> new layer and fill some of the tasks that had to be retouched... But it belongs to the Jags face that won't let me put black there where stains are around his face. I have attached a picture of the areas that it won't let me put black in... Can someone tell me why it does this when I was able to put black to anywhere else?  Thanks in advance!

    Untitled-1.jpg

Areas in the range of colors are those that are supposed to be deep black like the rest of its tasks. but closing treat down and that's where he won't let me to paint for some reason any. I have the layer color... but he won't yet! Help, please!

It seems that the selection is reversed. In the selection menu, you will find the ability to invert the selection.

Since you want pure black, change the normal blending mode. If you want a texture to show through the black choose multiply.

For pure black the hex number will be #000000. Hex values are 0 and f. The number can be divided into groups of two. The first two digits are red, the next two are green and the last two are blue.

Black shown in your library shows an increase in these three colors where not pure black.

  • Accidentally disabled video card in the BIOS, now just a black screen

I am writing to my brother-in-law because he can't see anything out of his monitor.  Its screen is completely black, even at startup.  He said that this was due, after having entered the BIOS and under the framework to monitor/video card PCIe to Onboard.  It can't change because its screen is now completely black so he can't see what she does.  Not one thing is displayed, not even the screen blue intro HP before loading Windows.  The computer does not seem to work, but it's just, that there is no video input.  Does anyone have a recommendation?  Here are a few things we considered:

    (1) temporarily add a new video in the PCI slot card, hook the monitor up and allows to change the setting back.

    (2) remove the battery of the BIOS for 5-10 minutes, and then move back in.  Would this reset the BIOS to its original settings?

    (3) clean sweep with factory recovery CDs.  Does anyone know if the recovery CD will also retrieve the settings of the original BIOS?

The computer is a HP Pavilion m9000t.  Any input would be greatly appreciated...

    Hello

Remove the RTC battery for more than five minutes (BIOS) clears all custom (including time & date) the BIOS settings and return all the default settings.

He did this for almost an hour until I finally got to load the system restore my Windows 8 Pro x 64 purchased disc.

I would really like someone to be able to help me with this. I bought Windows 8 Pro to my laptop from my wife and also 3 other copies for my father-brother machines... and now, I had to disable the Windows updates for each of them because of this!
All our computers are HP, maybe that has something to do with it? I do not know. Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that machines did not originally come with pre-installed Win8 (as I said above, I bought the discs retail - 5 of them).
I really enjoy using Windows 8 and won't go down to Win7 after all my work and spent $$$.
PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

    Update:

With the help of my friend and colleague some at CreativX.net, Greg (gsw953), which has tested this situation on a machine of his, we think we have found what was causing the problem:
All my machines are patched (I used UltraUXThemePatcher to patch mine) to run custom themes, 3 rd-party... Of course, the patcher (all of them, not just the one I use) modifies several system files (for example the shell32.dll file and a few others), what makes your system able to run themes not digitally signed by Microsoft. This seems to be the rub.
The way I solved this Aalders - UN-patch my system. Most patchers have an uninstall feature that uninstalls the patcher and adds by default, system files not patches in your system from backups that patch is when you have it installed. Once I did, I got all the updates, restarted, then re-patched my system and everything was fine.
I have the feeling that this same routine can must be made (UN-patch, get updates, re-patch) whenever MS publishes major updates of Win8... It is prudent to disable automatic updates. Better to have Windows Update notifies you and lets you decide if-or-not to install... and also it's a good idea to READ THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE UPDATES to see what they are - maybe even search them individually on the ' Net before you allow it to install.
MS has a long history of updates that fub a system patched... it's as if they don't want look us cool themes. they want that we have all the same, default * that they provide only. Shame on them.
Once again, in the end, the fix: Nations United-PATCH your sytem... get updates... and then re-PATCH. Worked for me. Touch wood...
