Black printer only print not

I have a C310 printer wireless connected to my laptop HP DV7 64 bit on Windows 7. This printer has been great until today. I tried to print 3 documents in blue, red and black. The red and blue are fine, but the black is not printing. I printed a document of ink, and the text does appear not even if all the colors, including black, print. I removed and replaced the black cartridge and I checked that there is ink available, that there is, and I checked for ink in the ignition and that is. Anyone know what could be the answer and how I started to correct. Thank you.

Gordon

For all those who have involved in this post, thanks for trying, but I have now come to the conclusion that the printhead has gone wrong on me, having followed the links and discussions of this forum and the Forum of Microsoft. The end result seems to be that the print head needs to be replaced, but rather than do this for £48 I will probably inveat in a new printer as the 6520 and hope that it lasts longer than the short time - approx. 2 years - that it was successful.

I can't get my Vista with OfficeJet 6110 to print black cartridge only, that is, I always get COLORS in my impression.

NOTE: I have the BLUE text in my .odt file and I want to print with just the black cartridge but alaways get BLUE to the exit...

I hope Bob Headrick reads this...

What printer driver settings that you use?    I can't install the Officejet 6110 driver, but I tried the following with the Deskjet 6500 driver: in the tab 'Printing shortcuts' select ' Fast/economical printing' in the 'what do you do?"tab.  IN the "Choice of colors" drop-down list select low "on Black Print Cartrdige Only", then apply. For good measure, go to the Advanced tab and enable "text just like Print black" in the tab "Printer features", then apply, OK.

A similar procedure should give good results with the Officejet 6110.  If this isn't the case, you could install the Deskjet 6500 driver by going to add printer, select local printer, select the USB port the 6110 is on and then select the driver HP Deskjet 6500 Series.  You might have the DEskjet 6500 and Officejet 6110 drivers installed at the same time, they should not come into conflict.

  • My HP Photosmart Plus B210e printer will not print black ink, only gray/color.

My printer HP Photoshop more faithful 210th has stopped printing in black ink last week. It prints color beautifully, but where there should be black it comes out just as gray or white spot. I have tried two new ink cartridges, cleaned print heads, reinstalled the driver, all to nothing does not. I tried to align the printer, but it gave me a failure message. Need help please, I desperately need to be able to print to school! I have Mac 10.8, so I couldn't do the online troubleshooting.

-Very well, sounds like you might have clogged or dry print head. What I propose, is that you first use the Tools menu under Setup for clean print heads at least three times. If that does not improve the quality of your print (PQ) or if you already have gift which, I would say that you remove the printhead and clean the back of the cradle with a non fluffy cloth (like a coffee filter) and a little water. The section you want to clean will be triggered copper bumps where the printer makes electrical contact with the print head.

If this fails, an unconventional way to solve the problem which has worked in the past:

  • HP 4650: HP 4650 black print cartridge (63 HP) will not be printed

In February 2016, I bought a new HP 4650 printer for a seasonal vacation home and it worked perfectly during the 3 months we were there. We returned home in July 2016 of holiday and the 63 HP black cartridge would not work and a new one has been purchased and installed. We have used the printer in just 2 weeks and not very well. Now in October 2016, we go home and again once the printer will not print black cartridge HP 63 is shown as almost empty of ink, which, after only 2 weeks of light, use in July.

Why don't the 63 HP black print now even if it shows is not empty no ink? And why the cartridge last a very short time, two weeks of very clear use in this case?

What is happening is that the ink print heads are drying up a lack of use.

  • HP deskjet 3520 scan copy main: print in black ink only

does always change to print in black ink only, or is it possible to save it so I don't have to go properties, advanced to change

    Thanks robert

Welcome to the HP community @robert3591,

I read your post want to print in black ink only, from your Deskjet 3520 and how, you do not select this option, every time you print from your Windows Vista system.

I would say to change the option to print in black ink only from "Devices and printer" to contain the parameter always print in black. This is a great detailed post from my colleague @X-23 , which shows all the instructions and screenshots:

  • Office jet pro 8600 how default to black ink only when printing from my ipad

Is it possible to set an option to print the black ink only when printing from my Ipad 2?
When I use the print icon the only option that shows is double page. I would like to be able to print in black only.
I can set this option when you print from my pc...

    Hello

AirPrint does not support black ink only printing, however the HP ePrint app allows it.

Note that the option is available only for documents (for example Office, PDF, Web pages and emails files), but not for the Photo files.

You can find the steps to obtain and use the application in the document below:

  • HP OfficeJet 8600: Print using black ink only

We use our printer as a copier only.  It is not connected to a computer.  Why do the color cartridges run out of ink and we cannot print black print.  We print any documents using color.  Is it possible to turn on the black only?

Sorry, but the HP Officejet Pro 8600 has separated from the inks and printheads and requires that all inks are available to avoid damage to the print head.

You can minimize the ink used with the following steps:

    • Use draft mode when the quality is sufficient.  Draft mode uses about half the ink or Normal or best mode.
    • Power switch of the printer only allows to turn off the printer.  If an external switch (as a protector or output impulse) is used more ink will be used at startup.

HP and other printer manufacturers have technology another printer for different needs.  For ink jet printers:

    • Some have integrated into the ink cartridges print heads.  These printers can print generally with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black cartridges (but not both) removed. The Officejet 8040 has us an example.
    • Other printers have separate replaceable printheads and inks.  An example would be the printer Officejet 8600.  In these printers print head can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors off.  Some of these printers allow printing with a color, the other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or several colours, the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send to the printer for the service.
    • Other printers have permanent print heads.  To run only those without little ink in all colours would risk causing damage to the print head because of clogs, air ingested in the printhead or grilled printhead resistances of shooting. The Officejet 6700 is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed print heads that could require the service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.

The document described here how the ink is used.  The document is written for inkjet printers HP the same principles apply to printers inkjet from other manufacturers.

If you do ever print color laser printer would probably be a better choice.  If you occasionally print color but especially black a HPI printer as those in the first category above can be a good choice.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: Print in black ink only

I don't have an option to print only black ink. The option does not appear on the print screen. I have the ability to print two-sided but not black only. I use OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

    Hello
Follow the steps below to print using black ink only:

    1. from the application used to print, click the file menu and select print.
    The print window is displayed.
NOTE: The print window might be minimized: click Show details to display all available parameters.

    2. to access the color options, click on the drop down menu, listed under the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.

    3. Select Type/quality paper in the menu dropdown.

    4. click the triangle next to color Options of spending parameters.

    5. set the color to grayscale field.

  • Office jet 6500 has: black printing only

Menu touch screen does not show the gray scale option only. I had printer for awhile and can't understand how to print in black only. Suggestions?

Click on the start ORB, devices and printers, right click on the Officejet 6500 a, printing preferences, advanced features of the printer to print in grayscale, black ink only, OK, apply, OK.

  • How can I print black ink only automatic duplex mode for Officejet 6500?

When I set the printer to automatically print on both sides, it allows only color or grayscale of high quality as print color options.  If I print on one side, then I have a third option for black ink only.  Does anyone know how to get black ink only when getting both sides to print automatically?

Sorry, this is not an option.  When printing on the front of a page in duplex black is underprinted with color to make the 'together' impression and dry faster.  Thus "black only" is not an option when you print duplex pages automatically.

  • Black printing only

I have a HP Photosmart C7200 series and am on a Toshiba Satellite PC. There is a button "copy in black" on the printer itself. However, is there a way to select 'print in black' when printing from the computer? Adobe on its site Internet seems to hear there is, but I don't see this option in the preview window before printing when it pops up. Thank you.

Yes. Thank you. Through the printer control panel, I can select Printer Preferences and then "print in grayscale" and it is another option 'black cartridge only' (instead of 'high quality' that uses no doubt all the cartridges). I have more a specific need to try it at the moment, so I have not really tested this solution, but it certainly looks like you hit the the right approach. Play well!

  • HP7520 printer using the photo cartridge during the printing of the documents not General and black print cartridge

My 7520 printer uses the photo and not the General black cartridge when printing on plain paper documents. The black general still full but my photo cartridge runs out of ink.

    Hi shay!

My apologies, I didn't know that your prints come out in blue print when you have a totally black cartridge. It is a problem of print quality with the printer or something in the settings of your computer.

I suggest to try the steps in the guide below. You have already tried some troubleshooting, try so the steps that you have not yet tried, I understand:

The streaks of ink fixing, faded prints and other common print quality problems

If you're still only able to print in blue (no black print), so I recommend you call HP to let them know. As you mentioned you have only had the camera for 3 months, it is likely under warranty and you might need a spare part or unit.

Here are the details of HP:

If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions: click here.

I hope this problem is solved for you, have a wonderful Wednesday

  • Photosmart 6510 print with only black print cartridge?

Hi, can printing Photosmart 6510 in black & white (not gray, but b & w only) when the black ink cartridge is not empty, but all the other cartridges are? If the color cartridges are not already installed, it will always show b & w?

    Hello

The 6510 PS will not work if the color cartridges are empty but the black ink.

However, I think that it would be possible to print using only black ink but to do ink in the cartridges of colour as well because in case of maintenance color cartridges to do little ink in the print head maintenance routines.  When the head is friendly if there was no colour ink this part of the print head could heat upward too or overheat.

Anyway, back to print in black only.  You mention that you do not want t p rint in black and white so you know where to look in the driver to get to this option. Then in Word, Excel or any program, go to the print function.  Click on properties. Click Advanced. You should see where you have levels of gray.  If you clock in the option box should reveal the other options will be "Black Only". Select this option.

As I said you should be able to print using only black, but you will need the color cartridges ink.

    Hope this helps.

  • DeskJet 6122 print with only black print cartridge?

I had this oldy but goody through local Freecycle (with two sets of ink!) list after knowledge full it works under Linux and openprinting.org it lists as working perfectly. Plug and play installation with Ubuntu, instantly recognized 14.04.

I think it is indicated only by old-school print/head of cartridge type, but I should be able to use it with the black cartridge only right? I know most recent will force you to have both. I love that the cartridge for the price are very economical too.

The Deskjet 6122 requires a black cartridge and electric sound color must be installed in the printer to print.  It is not necessary to have ink in all colors, but both cartridges must be installed.

You may need a new adapter > device manager type in the search above the Orb box > click Device Manager > click on the little arrow display adapters > note the name of the display adapter.

Then an internet search using the name of your model and the name of the computer and check the updates for your adapter.  If you give me the exact model of your computer name and the adapter, I'll see if I can help you.
