VI 'Variant to data' Converts the DateTime inaccurate.

The extracted data is a timestamp column in a microsoft access 2007 database.

As shown below, the said Variant ' 1: 46:45 '.

But the timestamp converted from Variant 1 milliseconds before the Variant.

It is now "1:46:44.999".

He is shown below.

How can I make the exact conversion?

This is how I solved the problem of millisecond with microsoft access.

Because the microsoft access database datetime type has an accuracy of up to one second.

some records of datetime are converted accurately in LabVIEW timestamp, and other records of datetime are converted with 1 millisecond gap (it could be more or less) and LabVIEW timestamp.

I didn't distinguish between those converted with precision and those wronged, because it could lead to errors.

So I did as below.

This is the first 6 columns of the Recordset.

recorded_time is a column datetime of 'access '.

Year (DateTime) returns the year as an integer of 4 digits, month (datetime) returns the month as a number between 01 ~ 12 and so forth.

And I created a Subvi, which covers the first 6 columns of a recordset object and returns a timestamp.

As you can see that the second fraction is equal to 0 signifie.000.

Each datetime record has maintenant.000 at the end, and no trace of datetime is converted into LabVIEW timestamp incorrectly.

  • Reliability of the data in the conversion to & from a Variant...

    It is possible to convert any data type to a variant, and then turn it back on. In doing so, are there data types who will lose information during the conversion process? If so, why?

    Yes, you can convert any type to a variable ranging and back. There is a VI called "Variant data" which will have a type as input. He continued to convert the variant the correct data. The side variant must know what type of data to expect. He can pull of the Variant. However, you can use a cluster of generic data that consists of a username and a Variant. Then you can have different types of data which can handle the side reception. It is a two-step process. One of conversion the variant of general type (data type and Variant cluster). The second would be a case statement uses the type then covert the internal variant to the specified type. This approach is used for generic messaging systems. The upper levels of the code will know what to do with the data. The lower levels are just generic data passing around.

    I'm not aware of any information that get lost during the conversion of the data to and from a variant. Of course, I not had no problem using them.

  • When not data type of the variant of wire to the data?

    When the data type of the sink of the thread (its destination) database is well defined, LabVIEW makes a type definition back from the variant to the data output. It does not work on polymorphic functions and structures border entries, etc. It is usually harmless to leave the type continuous wire in most of the cases but do not forget that you let LabVIEW decide for you, how to convert the data.

    In addition, if you put the following line in your file labview.ini:

    coerceFromVariant = TRUE

    you will be able connect variant directly to the sink, without variation in data (and its error handling).

  • How to convert a xs: date for XS: DateTime

    In my application, there are the following 2 cases, I need to manage:

    1. I have a "XS: date" and I need to convert it in "XS: DateTime".
    2. I have a "XS: date" and a "XS: Time" and I need to combine in ' XS: DateTime.

    Following the answer to this question on Stackoverflow, I tried both " xs:dateTime($date) "and" fn:dateTime($date, $time) " but none of them worked.

    When I used " xs:dateTime($date) " to manage the 1st case, I got the following exception during the OSB has reached the stage of conversion for the date:

    OSB Replace action failed updating variable "body": Error parsing XML: {err}XP0021: "2014-12-09": can not cast to {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}dateTime: error: date: Invalid date value: wrong type: 2014-12-09

    When I used " fn:dateTime($date, $time) ", the transformation is not yet accepted by the IDE. " It displays the following error:

    line 113, column 42: "{http://www.w3.org/2004/07/xpath-functions}dateTime" unknown function (or number of arguments (2) is wrong

    For now, as a solution, I use 'concat' to combine the date and time fields in the 2nd case and add 'T00:00:00' to handle case 1, but I think that this is not a good approach.

    I would be very grateful if you could show me how I can correctly convert date in dateTime format fields.

    For the moment, I use OSB 11 g with the last v11.1.1.7.4 grouped patch applied.

    Found in the documentation that, in fact, only the working paper 2004-07 is implemented in this version:

    https://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E28280_01/admin.1111/e15867/XQuery.htm#OSBAG444

    According to the specifications, the casting of XS: date for XS: DateTime should work:

    XQuery 1.0 and XPath 2.0 functions and operators

    But as I mentioned previously, it is perhaps that you do not pass the correct data type.

    If the data are not based on a schema, then sch:jdOriginalPromisedDeliveryDate will be considered from type xdt: untypedAtomic and cannot be cast in all except XS: String.

    Is - it works better:

    {xs: date ($jdOriginalPromisedDeliveryDate) cast as xs: DateTime}

  • filling of datetime column SQL Server with the data in the date column oracle

    After a lot of "finangling", I think I have my link dg4msql works well between Oracle and MSSQL.

    Now, what I'm trying to do, is fill a table in MSSQL with an Oracle table column values, whenever a new row is inserted in the Oracle table. I use a very simple trigger on the oracle table that goes basically like this:

    mware is dblink to MSSQL database, oracle col worth DATE and mssql col is of type DATETIME

    This is the relaxation: (edited to show only the column in question)
    ==================================================================================
    CREATE or replace TRIGGER < oracleowner >. INSERT_INTO_NVDB
    AFTER INSERT ON < oracleowner >. < oracletable > for each row
    BEGIN
    insert into '< mssqlowner > '. «< mssqltable > @mware «»
    (
    "load_date_time,"
    )
    VALUES)
    : new.loading_date,.
    );

    END;
    ==================================================================================

    Now, when you enter a record in the Oracle trigger triggers ok table but does not insert a date in the MSSQL table, the 'load_date_time' in the mssql table can have NULL values so I guess there just inserts a null value.

    When I activate the triggers on the table MSSQL, which then takes these values and inserts them into another table with values from other tables, inserting in the Oracle table fails because the relaxation on the MSSQL database tries to pass the date (which is empty) table MSSQL in another table where the datetime field is not null.

    I guess it's because Oracle date format is not compatible with MSSQL, which I think is "yyyy-mm-dd hh: mm:"- so I have to either convert the date format by default Oracle to match a MSSQL, or convert a char of the trigger value. (The developer of the side MSSQL says if I can convert it to a char value that should be ok too)

    I think that it is probably better to leave it in the date format, the best way to do this would be to put an "alter session set nls_date_format ="at the beginning of the trigger?

    Can I convert the date to char the trigger easily? If there is a better way to proceed in the way I approach it I'm all for it.

    Thank you!

    Hello
    Your best option is to explicitly convert dates Oracle in a format recognized by SQL * Server. It's more coding, but then you know exactly what is being inserted and you give more control, if anything changes. You can also code to handle null data.
    I'm not sure than to try to change the format of date to 'alter session... ". "do what you want.
    You can use "to_char" on a date into character data-

    To_char (, "HH24:MI:SSxFF of MON-DD-YYYY")

    and use any mask format supported.
    You also use 'to_date' to transform the character data in a date format, as well as 'to_char' and 'to_date' in combination.
    For example -.

    SELECT TO_CHAR (TO_DATE (October 27, 98 ',' DD-MON-RR'), 'YYYY') 'Year' FROM DUAL;

    This is all discussed in the documentation-

    Oracle® database
    SQL language reference
    11g Release 2 (11.2)

    where it also describes the different format masks.
    If you need further assistance on the use of to_date, to_char formats then ask in the forum SQL/PLSQL.

    SQL and PL/SQL

    where they have more experience.

    Kind regards

  • Why convert? What is the advantage? Why convert it before you send the data over the network?

    Hello everyone.

    I have a question quite simple and intuitive. Yet Google does not seam to get the answer.

    Basically, I'm curious why should we catalogued something? It seems to me that it's just a little like a "band-aid" for editing data in conversion to a new data type, when it is not properly declared with an appropriate data type. What would be the advantage of this?

    Furthermore, I see a lot of data type casting to U8 programs before sending it over the network. Various reviews say it's for speed, but I can't understand how it improves speed. The same amount of data is still sent, just in a different type of data. This is overcoming a limitation of the network. The network somehow send smaller data types faster?

    I've been curious about this for a while and have yet to find an answer. Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    It really depends on the specific situations.

    For example, some functions explicitly require certain types of data as inputs if they are not polymorphic.

    This means that if you do not convert the data yourself and you will see a red dot forced LabVIEW will do it for you.

    As to why the data was not the correct data type in the first place, it is sometimes inevitable.

    A few examples

    -What happens if you just read a text file as a long string.

    If there is digital data in this file, you need to analyze, and then convert it to a usable type (int, sgl, dbl, etc.)

    -you are given a 3rd part VI, dll, etc. that returns a numeric value as a double, but you need the value to I8.

    You cannot change the output of the function given to you, so what you can do to remedy this situation is cataloged data.

    Somehow, this is my first response, but in a more general sense.

    Many functions down to the level of the OS run in binary.

    If your data are not already in binary, the sending computer must convert it to binary, and then send it, have the receiving computer convert in return.

    Two conversions on each side of the transmission add unnecessary delays.

    Convert a drive to NTFS does not fit.

    (Vista/Windows 7 - it doesn't matter in this case).

    However, pay attention to this:
    "Although the risk of corruption or loss of data during a conversion are minimal, you must back up all data on the partition before you begin."

  • Convert the Period_Name in GL_JE_Lines table to a date format and then come back year

    I'm working on a data model BI Publisher and I try to convert the Period_Name in GL_JE_Lines table to a date format and then return of the year.

    The sql below works in 11i, but I can't make it work in Fusion.

    to_char (to_date (l. )) period_name , ' MON-RR ' ),'YYYY')

    Any ideas?

    Hi Jennifer,.

    To_char (sysdate, 'DDMONYYYY') in BI Publisher does not return a correct results due NLS_DATE_FORMAT/DATE_LANGUAGE settings.

    According to the standards of the I18N, NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE in the database is still hardcoded to NUMERIC_DATE_LANGUAGE. NUMERIC_DATE_LANGUAGE 'MY' in a date format mask is an integer, so you see the correct value.

    You're not supposed to publish direct SQL with fixΘe format masks (unless it's some sort of canonical format used in internal processing, including the end-user will not be), you should return language digital date to the mid range and then make the formatting of y.

    Workaround

    Try adjusting the NLS_LANGUAGE in SQL data model to override formatting from of the

    Data base and values of the Session, for ex: select to_char (sysdate, 'MON-DD-YYYY', 'NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = AMERICAN') of double;

    I got this Oracle support after lifting a SR.
