    Start the computer in safe mode (press F8 continuously immediately after power and don't worry beeps when you press the button) and let it boot without a network.  Once there right click on the desktop and then click Properties.  Click settings and the value of the monitor mode (640 X 480) VGA or SVGA (800 X 600).  Accept the changes and restart the computer.  You should have a mediocre screen, but you should see it now.  Download and install the appropriate drivers for your video card in the laptop to the web site of the manufacturer of the laptop.  Install the drivers and then you should be able to set the display of the laptop to the correct native resolution for your computer monitor (must be in the documentation of the laptop).

    You must contact the Local tech-store and check the hard disk for errors.

  • Black screen U2414H DisplayPort more low setting applied

    I have a dell precision computer M4800 laptop with docking station and two monitors U2414H.

    * Windows7

    * AMD over-pants M5100 FireGL V

    * I use the supplied cables supplied with the monitor miniDisplayPort

    * The docking station has two output ports DP (video 1 and video 2)

    * I've only tried the miniDisplayPort on the monitor inputs

    * The monitor was purchased through Dell

    A monitor works perfectly well, and works with a cable and either output DP (so I guess that the docking station and the cables are fine).

    However, the other monitor shows a black screen (if his hip as a single monitor or if I try to add the two together).

    Windows displays this warning when it is connected:

    Display applied lower setting port

    "The system has detected a problem with the connection between your computer and the DisplayPort monitor that prevents you to use higher resolutions and/or refresh rate."

    The monitor shows a black screen and is configured with a miniDisplayPort as input Source.

    If I try to bring up the OSD message is displayed:

    "There is no signal from your computer. Press any key on the keyboard or move the mouse to wake him up. If there is no display, place the monitor button now to select the correct input in the on-screen Display menu source. »

    I wasn't able to do a reset to the factory via the OSD settings, but I managed to turn on/off the setting of DisplayPort 1.2 (based on immobilized the Menu for 8 seconds). I tried with both enabled and disabled for the same result.

    Thanks for the answer by Chris,

    That moment everything works, I'm a little hesitant to restart in case something goes wrong again, but for now, everything is good.

    In the end, I did the following:

    * Update the BIOS

    * Set up the BIOS to disable switchable graphics (which means AMD card is used)

    * Updated AMD drivers

    * Uninstalled Dell Monitor driver

    * Plugged the monitors of the docking station, and then ran the driver monitor DELL software - it detected two monitors and installed the software.

    * The things still are not 100% with the questionable monitor - but I changed the parameters of DisplayPort 1.2 and its working now. (If I got to the "display settings" OSD display display Port 1.2 > disable).

    I put the laptop to sleep all night and he works up and all the monitors turned on (yay), but I am yet to perform a reboot since I have things to work.

    I'll close this issue even if things work out right now. Thanks for the suggestions (such as various tests I did based on your suggestions led me through the steps above to make it work).

  • Why Windows 7 setting would deliver a black screen with the cursor visible before you load the Office?

    I had a very unusual event this morning.  I am running Windows 7 on a desktop computer.  On startup, I reached the login screen and proceeded to connect to my name.  Prior to loading the desktop computer, however, I was in a black screen with the cursor visible.

    1. I am able to load successfully under another user ID.
    2. I am able to boot in safe mode (with networking) using my own code.
    3. I did a system restore with no luck.  The problem persists.
    4. I don't think it's a driver issue because it would affect the two IDS and who does not.
    5. I have a touch screen and the white slider moves even in the place where I touch.  (what works)

    Issues related to the:

    1. what "custom" setting would result in a shift of the display of this type?

    2. If I go to Windows 8, will I have the opportunity to 'reset' my display options?  Or it will automatically upgrade to the wrong setting?

    Thank you.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your solution.

    The problem turned out to be the result of a combination of events.

    1. I did a change of media display a week ago but never restarted.
    2 MS did the periodic security update that rebooted the machine overnight.
    3. the update may have actually been in the middle of the installation when I got to my machine in the morning.
    4. when the screen has not responded, I restarted manually by pressing the power button.

    Ultimately, I was able to access Task Manager and found several instances of several components running.  When I "force stop" several of them, the office completed and I was in business.

    I still have the wide black border around my 'Live TV' screen in Windows Media Center, but that's another question for another time.

    Once again, thank you for the time spent to help me.

    Best regards

    Steve

  • At the end of the factory restore, but black screen after "Windows has set up the computer.

    The model in question is VC863AA #UUW

    I want to get back the computer to the factory condition, so I rebooted and you press F11. Everything went exactly like this: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00814731#N72 (chapter "Start a restore from the hard drive and the computer is off")...

    .. until step 10, which States:

    "The computer restarts and continues in the installation of Windows. Complete the configuration screens and wait until the computer finishes the installation program. "Then turn off the computer, reconnect all devices and turn on the computer.

    Yes, the computer restarts. She continues in the Windows installation (it says "medan windows konfigurerar datorn Vanta", which means roughly "Please wait while Windows configures the computer"). After that which was for about 5-10 minutes, the text disappears and the computer restarts by itself.

    After that, he gives a normal load Windows Vista bar and after that black screen. It seems to be a little bit alive but jammed somehow. If I let it be for several hours, he goes to the standby mode. If I wake up, he still won't. I can plug a USB another keyboard and he will make some access to hard drive (load a driver probably). I can press the sleep button and it will go into sleep mode. But if I press the power button / stop briefly, it will NOT stop.

    So finally, after several hours I forced to shut down (by pressing the power button / stop longer). When I start it, it goes back to behave as explained in the previous paragraph.

    If I press F8 during startup and select Safe mode, it goes in safe mode and I get dialogue indicating in Finnish:

    «Asenna Windows: Windows ei voi suorittaa vikasietotilassa asennusta.» See devam fenetresdans asennusta uudelleen tietokoneen kaynnistamalla. »

    Rough translation:

    "Installation of Windows: Windows cannot complete installation in safe mode." "You can continue the installation by restarting the computer.

    If I restart the computer, it goes back to the black screen after the windows loading bar.

    This suggests that there is something in the installation of Windows who jams it.

    I can install Windows Vista from a Vista DVD, but then I can't use the software included with the computer. (App States installation cannot install on a machine that is unauthorized, then of course they are looking for some OEM HP things.)

    Any suggestions on how to fix jam that continues with installing Recovery Windows or how to install the software on a normal Vista would be very appreciated.

    I solved the problem. Good thing I didn't order the restore disks, because that would not have solved the problem.

    I decided to post it because I don't know there will be others who have HP Pavilion Elite m9754sc and will have to face this problem of a black screen after the restoration.

    The fact is that the restore worked perfectly, but in this display card driver is buggy and it causes the screen to go black.

    I thought that what I installed fresh Vista which worked until I installed the driver from the recovery partition display. I tried VGA, outputs HDMI and DVI on the factory installed GeForce GT220 and none worked.

    A defective display driver should normally be no problem we could go in safe mode and fix it to the it. But as with the recovery goes to pre install state (ask what language to use etc.), safe mode does not work.

    So the solution is to unlock the display of the motherboard connectors and remove the factory installed GeForce GT220. Once the recovery and installation of Windows is finished using the graphics card integrated motherboards, you can reconnect the GeForce GT220 and get a updated driver with safe mode.

  • Trying to copy and paste a screenshot of a video game and stick it on the paint. All I get is a black screen Uni I put any graphic setting. How to paste it on Paint? I am able to do it on Vista, but not on Window7.

    Screenshots to work in painting with Windows7, unable to work, all I get is a solid black screen capture.

    I thought that is no longer a problem in the current version of Windows. In previous versions all that depended on what you were trying to catch and how it was made.

    First, make sure the game doesn't have its own ways to make screenshots. There are a lot of games that allow you to do and screenshots that are just after that saved to a folder. You must search settings keyboard... maybe you will find a similar option. What is the name of your game... maybe I can try to find this option.

    Other things... maybe it will be possible to intercept a tool cutting, then try this: when you're in the game, press the Windows key (it will open menu start without closing a game) > all programs > Accessories > capture tools > press an arrow next to new , and select full-screen Snip

  • CQ61-312SA: Presario CQ61 does not boot, black screen.

    In setting in motion:

    • LEDs LED power supply front and button cases NIP
    • Wireless LED lights
    • Above the touchpad LED lights continuously
    • LEDS near caps lock and above paved digital flash streaming
    • No sign of drive activity, no fan noise, the screen remains black.

    Looks like it is not booting in the BIOS.

    However, I tried:

    • Remove the battery, button to power down etc.
    • Remove each RAM module and Exchange.
    • Remove the HARD drive

    NB symptoms are the same when the power supply plugged in or not.

    I believe that the flashing LEDs are important but I the only references I can find are telling me to contact the HP Support.

    Can anyone tell if this is likely to be a failure of a repairable component.

    I was hoping to identify the component that prevents the laptop to even start the BIOS but I guess I'll have to just it's bin.

  • iPhone is disabled (titled in a black screen)

    days, my broken iPhone screen, so it worked without me touching even it... then he entered my password randomly and then disabled... and was unusable until I have fix it... now I set the screen and everything... and I KNOW my password... I even put it into restore mode for update and then hope to get the screen "enter in the access code"... but even after the entry "update" and update to the latest firmware he signed again an iPhone is disabled in a full black screen even if I don't want to lose anything since I know my password and I don't want to not erase completely to its default... Thank you for helping...

    Once the device is disabled, there is no way to recover the data, or access a screen to enter the access code. You must restore it to try to recover, and then you can restore the device to your last backup. Right now, data on the device is not accessible.  If you have forgotten the password for your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple supports

  • my iphone 4S hanged and black screen

    I used the iPhone 4 (factory unlocked) for over a year now with only minor problems. Like a regular day, I was typing a message to my friend, but suddenly he hung then black screen follows... It was a shock suddenly! . I just put the phone to rest for a while and after about an hour, have crossed my fingers and tried again the Home button, but the black screen continued. If the backlight of the iPhone works I can say that, because I see the phone luminates but the "Slide to unlock" is cannot be seen. Since I have been using the phone for a while, I know the accurate position to "Slide to unlock" so if I slip my finger unlocks it too with the default 'Unlock (click) noise' but again once the icons of the apps is not visible, all I see is a grid and fadely. I get the SMS and calls even though I can't read nor I can see who's calling. Because the screen is blank, I can't use the phone but the phone seems to work.

    Try a hard reset by pressing Power and "home" set button until the Apple logo appears. If it is not resolved, try a restore of the phone via ITunes.

  • Black screen in firefox... now also no user profile

    Hello

    So, I got the same problem as: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1025438

    The problem is, I have reset my firefox... which resulted in making the issue worse. I still have a black screen, but now when I open firefox there is also no profile and I get a "missing profile" box which is entirely black.

    If I hold the SHIFT key and click on the firefox icon, I get "unable to load your Firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible.
    If I try to create a profile of firefox, I get a black box of firefox.

    For the record, before attempting to reset firefox, I managed to get a startup "set." How I tried to reset option, not realizing that this option would completely ruin my ability to start firefox.

    Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox... but the still, black window, no profile.
    And now, I don't have the ability to access firefox because of the windows are blacked out.

    Reflections on how to access my return to firefox?
    I have the "old data firefox' reset folder.
    Thanks in advance,

    Oops, what a mess. We will try to copy your old profile in place folder and see if Firefox is still looking for that one. If Firefox does not find this one, we must change a Firefox configuration file point to him.

    Go ahead and open these two folders:

    (1) the old data of Firefox

    (2) your Firefox profiles folder. For quicker access to this file, you can type or paste the following text in the start search box menu (and press enter) or in the address bar in a window of Windows Explorer:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

    Then, copy your previous profile from #1 to #2 folder (for example, right-click > copy #1 and right click > paste to #2). Leave these two windows open for now (it is good to minimize their).

    Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox. If you get the Security Mode/Reset dialog box, click start mode safe and I hope that all goes well and you can proceed to disable hardware acceleration.

    If you still get an error of missing profile:

    In the #1 window, type or paste this into the address bar and press ENTER:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox

    In this folder, you should see a file called profiles.ini. If Windows hides the extension .ini, you can display it. See this Microsoft article on measures for this: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions

    Right click > edit the file profiles.ini and it should open in Notepad. You should see something like the following:

    [General]
    StartWithLastProfile=1

    [Profile0]
    Name=default
    IsRelative=1
    Path=Profiles/asdf1234.default
    Default=1

    The part of the path after profiles / must match the name of the folder you pasted in the #2 window. If that doesn't fit, go ahead and change it to match and save the changes. Then try to start Firefox in Safe Mode, once more. You can get?

  • FireFox starts a black screen after update 33

    After that set Firefox to update my version to 33, the application is launched in a black screen. I tried to uninstall my version and reinstall the current version (33) and it (Firefox) always throws a black full size window. No further questions with other applications.

    Could you try starting Firefox in Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

    With completely closed Firefox, you can hold the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

    A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

    Any difference?

    If Firefox is visible, go ahead and disable the use of Firefox hardware acceleration as a workaround for incompatibility of graphics software possible driver card.

    "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

    In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

    This will indeed be the next time you go out and you launch Firefox upward.

  • Black screen when you try to start PowerPC G3 beige

    I have a vintage tour 1997 beige PowerPC with OS 9 (don't know which version, I think that the last of them he would go - 9.2.2?).  It has been sitting in the corner, turned off but plugged in for years (on a UPS protected against overvoltages with newer computer).  It was probably 2-3 years since the last power successful upward to retrieve something from him.  I am wanting to get data out of an old program on it, but can't get any view of it, just a black screen.

    Here's what I know about the material:

    Label says PowerPC G3 233 MHz, 512 K Cache, 32 MB / 4 G HD/24 x CD / 56K Modem, 17/02/98

    The memory may have been renovated years ago, there are 3 SIMMS inside.

    I use the video port built, with an adapter for the Apple Display Connector to VGA adapter which worked very well all the years I've used the computer.

    When I turn on, it is what is happening:

    I get the normal "chime".

    The monitor it is connected to the wake mode 'sleep'

    The display goes completely black - (no happy Mac, sad Mac or any Mac or gray screen)

    The monitor will never return "standby mode" until I have shut down the Mac (at least for 10-15 minutes I leave at the same time).  This makes me think that the port video is send something to the screen.

    • Here's what I've tried so far:
    • Tried 2 different monitors and cables, which has occurred on other computers (relatively modern flat screen LCD)
    • Replace the onboard battery
    • Zap the P - RAM
    • Reset the NVRAM by starting command-option-O-f and strike blindly
      • Reset-nvram (press enter/return)
      • Reset-all (News-enter/return) - at what point he restarted then assume that it took orders
    • Started with the space bar to see if the extensions manager would come to the top
    • Sitting SIMM memory (I remember when a memory SIMM went wrong after years, I'm a his 'breaking glass' at the start so I think the memory is OK?)

    The only things I can think to try are changing the ADC to VGA and put in a PCI video card.  Wikipedia lists a couple that were popular with this vintage Mac: ATI Radeon 7000 and 9200.  These will work without having to install drivers? It seems that http://www.amazon.com/ATI-Technologies-Radeon-7000-Graphics/dp/B0000630TB can be had pretty cheap, I don't know about the drivers.

    I have not tried booting from a cΘdΘrom, especially because I was not able to locate them.  I could watch more difficult if it is reasonable to expect a different result, but that seems to be a more fundamental question.  If there are any people with ideas vintage Mac, it would be greatly appreciated!

    The Amazon link you posted is for the PC of ATI Radeon 7000 version.  You need the Mac or PC version which took his chip EEPROM reprogramming with the Mac code.  Fifteen years ago, I bought eight of the sale to the retail-boxing, PC version Radeon 7000 s and flashed the ROM, for use in my beige G3s.  It took OS 9.2.2 support the latest drivers that allowed a 2D acceleration.  The Radeon 9200 Mac Edition is the final PCI graphics card that they marketed for Macs and would cost more and be more graphics card that you need, just to retrieve files from the G3.  You may be able to find a cheap, compatible Mac Radeon 7000 on ebay.  In fact, the older (Mac compatible) ATI Rage 128 PCI graphics of a B & W G3 (shown here) would be well suited to your needs.  When you zapped the PRAM, how many times have you let it go through the reboot cycle, while now pressed the keys "command + Option + P + R?  I usually gave it three.  You could try to remove the sound card 'personality' clean oxidation on the pins plated gold with a soft, white gum and reinstall.  This would be the case for modules of memory DIMMS and ROM card, which can also become oxidized over time.  If the Mac to VGA DB-15 you have a set of microswitches adjustable, the parameters of the (resolution) may be different for newer LCDs you've tried, especially if they have an image format widescreen.  "You can also consult the"failures of start-up list' on this page speed up your Mac G3 box. " "There was a problem with the first batch of voltage regulators used in the beige G3s, but I think they were passed to the VRM Raytheon in February 1998.  If "Raytheon" is printed on your VRM, you can probably exclude the problem.
