BlackBerry Pearl 8110 GPS Smartphones

Hi all

I'm having a problem with getting a GPS location fix

on my 8110. I have a data plan. Google maps works.

But the Options > Advance Options > GPS does not return

no results. It this program system broken?

Since an update today, there is now only a GPS

data source: GPS DEVICE. There was once a

Another option, I forgot what it was.

Conact your wireless carrier and clarify is the function GPS is enabled for your account.

Google Maps do not use GPS satellites. It shows location according to the coordinates of the nearest wireless towers, you can see that it is less accurate than a device that works with the GPS satellites.

I have a similar problem with my Blackberry Pearl 8110, Desktop Manager 5.01 and Outlook 2003 SP3.

When I try to synchronize my contacts from my Blackberry to Outlook, the process gets thru 'Read in the device address book' 90 and 90 files without problem.  It starts the process following "Treatment Device Address Book" and gets 86 90 files and stops and a pop error message window: [title bar] Intellisync. Help! I STILL NEED HELP WITH THE QUESTION, I WAS NOT ABLE TO SYNC MY CONTACTS FOR OVER A YEAR NOW!

I couldn't find a solution for this, ANYWHERE so I just decided to fix this problem just upgrade to the new version of the BlackBerry Desktop version 6.0.0.40 software. And now, ALL my contacts synchronize with a problem.

Also from the beginning of this problem and now I have also improved my Outlook 2003 to 2007 and then to 2010.

So I do not know if the combo of doing all this software update fixed the issue of the contact crupt but its market not now and that's what I need.

Hi John1942 and welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

Its possible you may have a filter defined in address book on your BlackBerry® smartphone.  In the address book, press the menu key and choose filter.  If there is no boxes checked, remove the check mark, and then check the address book again.

    Thank you.

  • Smartphone blackBerry pearl 8110 txt problem

I had my 8110 stolen a few weeks ago, but got a new a few days ago, everything goes well apart from when I txt punctuation and put into it will jump to the next line and put a capital in place, even if only a few characters have been used on the previous line. I know it's probably a setting somewhere but where? Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about the stolen phone

Regarding your question, if this was not the case when you originally bought the phone, try a battery Pull:
    1. remove the battery while the phone is turned on
    2. wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. wait for the long end of the boot process (takes a few minutes usually)

This clears most of the software problems that occur on the BlackBerry from time to time. You can also use Quickpull, a free application that simulates a battery pull without removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
A battery pull gets lost when using the applications memory and clears minor software errors that creep over time. The blackberry is running an operating system just like your PC is running windows and battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot / restart your computer.

  • Use of Smartphone unlocked blackBerry PEARL 8110 in Europe

AT & T gave me an unlock code for my Pearl a few years ago upon request.  I've never used to unlock the phone, because I went to another telephone shortly after.  The Pearl was just sitting and wait until yesterday when I used the MEPD method to unlock the phone.  I think I've succeeded.  Under 'Advanced Options/SIM Card', everything is indicated as "disabled".  However, it is also said to 'no SIM card valid', and on the main screen, it says that "initialization failed", as well as the AT & T logo.  The phone is apparently connected to the AT & T network, but allows only 'emergency calls '.  The SIM card, I have used over unlocking is a European pre-paid card.  Of course, they have no coverage here, so I do not expect to be able to use the phone with the SIM here.

I plan to travel to Germany next week and to use the Pearl out there.  I don't just want to use my other phone out there (locked to AT & T) and pay their horrendous roaming charges.  Since I've never done this before, I want to assure you that I did really well.  I don't want to leave the plane and be without a working phone.

Does anyone have any advice/comments/suggestions?  Really unlock my Pearl for good?  What I have to use that particular SIM card or I can insert any other SIM card with service in Germany (I have a few others).  Is there anything else that I seemed not or should I do?

    Any help would be appreciated.

If you wanted to test... here in the United States, borrow or guy a cheap Tmobile prepaid SIM.

    You should be fine.

  • Issues of free internet to Smartphones blackBerry (Pearl 8110)

Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm just very frustrated.

I got my new BlackBerry today, and I can't free Internet (for a year) to work.

I tried to send the text to 441 to activate (permanently during the day) and still does not work.

I tried to sort things by registering on the host Routing Table and try to make a BlackBerry Service account, but I can not because it is not recognized.

Can anyone offer any help? (:

    Thank you.

After another day passed to send SMS to the number I had to, it was finally accepted. I am delighted today with my little piece of kit

  • Sanatising of Smartphones blackBerry Pearl 8110

Can someone average Advisor to delete voice notes? I'm afraid that even if I delete the he can always have a footprint on the blackberry! In addition, as the blackberry was owned by my employer it was related to my laptop - as such I am also afraid that the voice notes are automatically saved on the server of the company!  Is this possible?

    Amanda was soon

Where are the notes of recorded voices to... the device memory or memory card?

And it is unlikely that they have been saved on servers of your employee, though, don't forget, most anything done on a device connected to a company BES like this account, can be monitored and recorded by the BES admin.

Once the voicenotes are deleted, you can be certain that they are deleted, if they are on the memory of the device. The BlackBerry device memory is very near impossible to penetrate, at least by the normal geek or the administrator. There are only a few companies that make the BlackBerry memory forensics, and very few people can afford it.

If the voicenotes are sauvΘs and removed from the map of media, that's another story. As a PC file, which could be recovered easily.

  • BlackBerry Pearl 8110 Blackberry Smartphones - how to erase all contacts given n?

    Hello.

My son has just sold me his BB pearl, the thing is that it's full of all his contacts and media... (photos ermmm I don't really want to take the risk to watch!)

Is there a way to clean all the contacts and the media without seeing them? A bit like a reset to factory or something, can I please?

I can't find anything to be able to do anywhere...!

Thanks much for any help you can give...

    Myeika

First, wipe the device using the Options > Security > General settings > press Menu > wipe Handheld.

Will erase all old e-mail, messages, calendar, contacts, preferences and settings of the unit. This does NOT alter the operating system, etc., and you should be backup with an almost new unit later. It will not remove also application your son loaded into the device.

If the images are recorded on a map of media (located behind the battery, do you see one?) that must be removed separately. Go to Options > Media Card > Menu button > Format and move forward. This will reformat the well card as he would a hard drive on your PC.

If you need more help or have any other questions, please after return.

    I restarted.

    I checked the firewall.

I tried the upgrade to 4.5 he told me I had the latest version of the software.

I contacted At & t for help, they sent me a tutorial, I already did this.

First of all you have a data plan with At & T?

If you do, it cannot be configured correctly for use.

Send a PIN message, if you receive your plan is in place.

If you you do not need to see the carrier and the phone put into service

    correctly.

Have you tried the PIN message?

If you have no entries in the HRT tables and no registration in the service books

I don't think that you are set up correctly, or your not transmit and receive the network.

Try to go to options.connections, check if all connections are on, scroll to the State to serve and check if

the option for BIS shows connected to the mobile network

  • Some questions on development on the Blackberry Pearl 8110?

Hello. I have a few questions about the development of java applications on this unit.

Well, asumming my old pearl supports Java...

I have the Eclipse plugin for java installed using the 5.0.0 jre so I think this means that the application works on OS5 and above all, Yes?

Not sure what OS this old Pearl works (I personally don't think it runs OS5?), and if he ran to an older operating system (say OS 4 or less) then my developed apps still work on this unit?

Sorry if these are stupid questions.

    Thank you

"applications developed in the usual Blackberry JRE 5.0.0 run on machines running less than 5.0.0 OS?"

It is more accurate to say - are not supported on.

A few apps, when compiled using the API calls that have not been changed, will work on 'low' operating systems, at least a number of people on the forum (yourself included) have told me they have managed this.  However, I tried it by accident (when I plugged the wrong device to load an application) and a device in brick.  So I wouldn't recommend it, even if it does not work.

"do you mean that if I develop my app in JDE, it works on any device blackberry hosting any level of the operating system?"

JDE versions have the same restrictions - there are versions JDE as there are JRE versions.  I think JDE 4.2.1 and JDE 4.3 are always available, so if you want to develop is a phone which works 4.3, because I think that yours, you could use the JDE-, but it should have the JDE 4.3 or earlier.

You can also upgrade your phone and use Eclipse (which is what I would do).

    Clear now?

  • BlackBerry Pearl to curve smartphones

I had a Pearl (well 3 in a week) before making my curve.  I does not uninstall the software and download it again when I got it.  Need to do with the Desktop Manager? or is it OK to use what has been loaded with the Pearl?

    Thank you

What version did you have before?

    I found that explains the differences between 4.1 - 4.3: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05433

I'm still trying to find what is different between 4.3 to 4.6

You can always download the software. The operating system on your device does not depend on the version number of the Desktop Manager.
