    Hello world.

    I just got my new passport and it's great.  But the proximity sensor does not seem to work.  When I hold my face during a call the screen stays on and sometimes I press the screen options.  And when I use the flip on for power saving option, the screen lights up as well.

    everyone knows this, or am I just a loser?  Should I get reversed as it is during the first two weeks?

  • Q10 Q10 of proximity sensor of blackBerry issues

    Hello guys, currently I q10 ESC model 100-3. Recently I just update the official os update OTA 2941. After the update, I noticed that my proximity sensor seems weird. During a phone call, it's not off my screen so I need cat kicked the power to make the screen power off in order to avoid touching unwanted, but however in virtual expert, my proximity sensor went perfectly with nearby and well detected.
    I don't know how to solve this problem, did someone ever experienced? Hope for any comment.
    Thank you

    You can check the position sensor? The phone must be in a certain position to be off when out of your mouth. For example if you are online and you place the phone on a flat table and try to cover the proximity sensor, it won't turn off the screen. However, if you hold to your ear in this position turns off the screen. See if you can test this sensor in the BBVE.

  • BlackBerry Z10 defective sensor?

    So, I recently got the Z10 but a few days ago that fixed red light appeared where the sensors. It is warm to the touch and just disappears when I turn off the phone or the battery. It is also draining my battery much. I tried to restart and the phone has not been dropped and there has been no water damage to him. Any suggestions on how I could get it fixed?

  • BlackBerry Z10 slow sensors and rapid battery drain

    I've known some very strange problems in recent weeks, but lets start at the beginning.

    A couple of weeks, I noticed that my battery was drain more quickly then usual, the month battery i Aurélien 5 or 6.

    This tuseday I realized that after you type the Power/sleep button or wiping to operate the unit, there are actually up to 2.5 seconds for the phone to respond.

    And finally earlier light/proximity sensor has become very slow or even unresponsive.

    I thought to recharge the device software / what was never done on this device because I got it on the day of release) but I don't know if, among other things, I'm not going to lose my story to discuss Whatsapp and groups?

    Its a STL 100-2 running OS 10.2.1.3062 on the network of Swisscom (Switzerland).

  • Sensors of blackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry 8110

    Hey!

    I m aking myself how the BlackBerry knows when I remove its portfolio.

    It lights up just when I pull it out of the Pocket and nowhere else.

    Guys do you know why? Is there a magnetic track in the original wallet, so that the blackberry from the measurements of the magnetic field?

    Thank you, skatanius.

    Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    Actually Yes it is. The case of OEM for BBs include magnets that allow the BB 'lock' or 'sleep' when it is inserted into the housing. The case must match the specific model BB - the corresponding locations in the BB are not the same model. And Yes, when you remove it, it assumes you want to watch the towers and so of the screen.

    Hope that helps!

  • A malfunction of the sensors Z10 blackBerry

    Do not tilt left and right. They have been quite good an hour before. But he stopped working. Please help me!

    Thank you!

    Because it's more similar to a hardware problem, it depends on what kind of policy that the retailer has. If it were one day 7 return policy, you can do backfor a change.

    Otherwise, you need to bring it to the authorized service center nearest repair

  • Disable the sensor of blackBerry Smartphones

    Hey guys!

    I'm new there and I have a question for you. I got a BB Storm 9500 and I'm having a problem. I hate it when the screen moves when I turn the phone in a horizontal position. Is it possible to disable it?

    Sorry for my English, I'm Portuguese.

    Thank you!

    Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    In native mode... It is a function of the device. I heard about apps add-on that will do. I suggest you do a search for Storm-Tilt or Storm-Lock, I don't remember the name of the exact application, but they exist.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Dtek50 auto rotation question

    Hello community,

    my old Dtek50 of a month, sometimes stops auto rotation toggle turn same auto is on. I checked the settings-accessibility - auto rotation... is on. Device settings-display-when is turned isn't properly adjusted on do rotate the contents of the screen. I did the test of the sensor with the expert virtual Blackberry and the sensor works very well. I tried with a game using the sensor and everything is ok. A simple reboot solves always... but it's a bit boring.

    Last week, it happened twice. I noticed this problem after update from September.

    Anyway, today I did a factory reset... I'll monitor the device without having to install the apps I use generally.

    Has anyone else experienced this problem?

    Auto rotation problem solved! As I said in my previous posts my sensor has worked well (and so I have is maybe a software problem, kernel?).. .so I tried a few apps from the game store: the only one who's really works: "auto rotation to lie down". For those who are facing the problem just install the app and give the requested permissions. Works like charm! Glad for not having sent the smartphone for repair!

  • How to use the 'sensors' api?

    Hi guys! I am a web-game developer but a beginner in developing blackberry applications.

    I intended to create a star atlas application and I've already finished most but failed to use the 'sensors' api.

    I referred to the example provided in the documentation of webworks 2.1 as below:

    function compassCallback(data) {
    document.write("Current azimuth:"+data.azimuth);
    }
    blackberry.sensors.setOptions("devicecompass", { delay: 1000 });
    document.addEventListener("devicecompass", compassCallback);

    and I added an element in the config.xml file:

    also, I added the plugin com.blackberry.sensors for the project.

    But I still can't azimuth compass...

    I really appreciate if someone could help me with this!

    I solved this problem by myself.

    The listener of the api should be placed in a "deviceready" event

  • Duty slot in my sensor signal connection related problem class.

    I fanned simple class based on the NDK documentation found here - http://developer.blackberry.com/native/documentation/cascades/device_comm/sensors/

    But in my case signals do not plug on slots and returns always false. I was just wondering what I did wrong? Looks all logical.

    Here's the class:

    #include
    #include "Sensors.h"

    Sensors::Sensors(QObject *parent) : QObject(parent) {
        // Create the compass sensor.
        m_CompassSensor = new QCompass(this);
        m_Accelerometer = new QAccelerometer(this);

        // Set the orientation mode to fixed so that sensor readings
        // aren't affected by device orientation.
        //m_CompassSensor->setAxesOrientationMode(QCompass::FixedOrientation);

        // If any Q_ASSERT statement(s) indicate that the slot failed
        // to connect to the signal, make sure you know exactly why this
        // has happened. This is not normal, and will cause your app
        // to stop working
        bool res = connect(m_Accelerometer,
                           SIGNAL(readingChanged()),
                           this,

    Hello! Q_OBJECT macro is missing from the top of the class declaration:

    class Sensors : public QObject{  Q_OBJECT
    public:
      Sensors(QObject *parent = 0);

    p.s. This line changes, the first could not connect will not be detected. It should probably be & =

  • BlackBerry Z30 don't switch call to the speaker using the navigation. Screen went black accept after phone call.

    I have this problem no need of me.

    While driving and use any software of navigation, such as:

    1. built in maps

    2 Waze

    3 NavFree

    If someone calls me, I can take the call. But immediately, the screen went black.

    I can't switch the call to the speakerphone. After random seconds, to switch screen might look for a second glance, and then the entire screen turned black.

    Although it is black screen, I can't do anything, including trying to drag up to close current app/call.

    Maybe it's something to do with the Navigation periodly software disables screen timeout?

    Hello, Yes,.

    Is this the same problem as described here:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/BlackBerry-Z30/Z30-keeping-the-dial-pad-quot-lit-quot-when-in...

    Discussion on how the screen turns black during a regular call, it is impossible, for example, to listen to a call and to have the keypad remains lit, so you can press the right numbers while dealing with an automated reception, was doing phone banking, or using any other system that relies on automated messages.

    The problem came down to how some people take their phone (especially when trying to listen to the guests and press the right button at the same time).  The solution has been to hold the phone differently.  So my question would be whether the phone is blacking out because of the very special combination of things happening in your scenario, or is it blacking out because you're online and proximity sensor of the phone thinks you're holding it to your ear (and think that when you do this, you want to have blackened keypad).

For more details, please see the other BlackBerry Q5 keyboard backlight subject here. Otherwise, you don't have to do anything special, just do a soft reset on your practice. :-)
