  • BlackBerry Smartphones active new SIM - now phone SOS only

Hi all. Have a little problem. I had to go back to an old 9700 When my current iPhone broke. I needed a new card SIM from the iPhone using a different card. When I called Rogers to activate the SIM everything was fine for about a minute. I received texts that were pending since Sunday when my iPhone broke. I had full bars etc. Once a minute, he went to SOS only. While I was on the phone with Rogers Tech Support I have reset and removed the battery and SIM and all the things they wanted me to. Everything looks good on their system, he said that the problem must be with the device.

    A bit on the device:

Originally with Mobilicity in 2009. Opened and used with the wind. My father then used with Rogers and Fido. Since Sunday, when my phone broke, I used SIM card of my brother-in-law (he just swung at Rogers to the wind, but his plan has always been paid until the end of September) and the BB worked very well. If it worked correctly with a Rogers SIM.

Now, I get the same problem with my brother-brother SIM. SOS only. No connection. What happened when active Rogers SIM card must have done something to the camera itself because now it does not connect to any of them. That both SIMs work as I have tested both in my wife's phone.

The guy on the Support of Rogers suggested that perhaps the closed phone itself - but when I enter the settings advanced for the SIM card that everything is disabled in customization... so it appears not to be locked.

He said that I should try to reinstall the OS, but that it will block the phone and I need to unlocked again.

Is there anything else it could be? Will reinstall the OS relock the phone? Any other suggestions?

    Thank you very much!

First this... avoid this tech Rogers like the plague. He has no idea what he's talking about. All what he told you is simply not possible. Once MEP unlocked, a BB device can blocked at the factory. Nothing of what you have done or the facilities of any OS can relock a BB.

I'd rather a complete security on the Device Wipe:

    • KB14058 How to delete all data and applications in the smartphone BlackBerry using the security option wipe

    Otherwise, a ResetToFactory WIPE:

    • KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

After each one, put it in the SIM card and switch on the device, and then make sure that the voice is through Rogers. Only then start to worry about getting all the data to work (if you subscribe BIS, in other words).

If you want to get off the OS Reload path, then the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below. (not applicable in your situation)

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

    Hello

I'm trying to connent my O2 BB 9000 with my Gmail email. I came to a halt well, I entered my email and password in the "Enterprise Activation" section, but I don't know what is the address of the activation server? I've also updated the http://www.o2email.co.uk/ page with my gmail account.

I contact my network provider and they said I need to contact gmail to get the address of the activation server?

    Help, please! :-)

If you are not on a corporate account BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES), you don't want to activation.

You probably have a personal account to BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). Do you have THE BlackBerry data on your rate plan? If this is not the case, call them and get it. When you do this, an icon for the configuration of the personal e-mail with appear on your device.

  • Password blackBerry Smartphones active locked on

Any one out there ideas.  I want to disable my password, but the key activated shows a lock and I cannot reset.  If iI select the only option I get is to change password. If I select what I have to insert a new password.

is it a company or a personal phone you bought the 2nd hand?

If it's a telephone connected to a BES server company then your company would use a policy to enforce the requirement of password, so you cannot turn it off.

If it's a personal phone, purchased 2nd hand she may have an old it policy out there - you have to follow the advice here to remove it.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Activation Code Faile

I recently had to swap devices and have reinstalled the latest version of the app world. I've logged in my world and re installed my previously purchased app Weatherbug Elite. After installing weatherbug elite, I enter the license code provided in my world, after you have entered the code, and select OK, I get the message "failure of Activation". I checked several times to make sure that the correct license code was entered without success. I even went as far from trying to re buy the app in the hope of getting a license code valid with no luck. App world guard re direct me to already purchased weatherbug elite and gives me the option to "Reinstall". So it seems that I am stuck with this particular version of weatherbug elite. I can't get this figured out. Any ideas on that?

    Thank you

Thanks to the entry, the developer has sent yesterday. Waiting for a response.

  • BlackBerry smartphones duplicate appointments and calendar synchronization problems

I use Outlook 2003 and the Blackberry Curve with v4.2.2.180 software.  I don't use Enterprise Server.

When I sync my BB with Outlook, he began to do some weird things.  First of all, he wants to delete my Outlook items.  Second, he changed the title of a recurring appointment for no apparent reason.  I have to fix things, tried to set the configuration so it records only deletes or moves on the BB and set the configuration in advance so that conflicts are always resolved in favor of Outlook, but when I synch, he wants to still remove 22 items in my Outlook calendar and add one bunch of others.

How can I get to sync properly?

Do I have to clear the calendar on the BB and then start Outlook?  How do I do that?

    Thank you

    > Do I have to clear the calendar on the BB and then start Outlook?  How do I do that?

TODO, you want to use the Desktop Manager

    Backup/restore

    Advanced

    Click on calendar on ERS.

Under the screen of the RHS, click clear.

Now, do a synchronization, and you will receive the calendar on the BB Outlook.

I managed to figured it out on my own:

2 re - install Desktop Manager

Now, automatically synchronize when I connect to my Storm.

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) books of forwarding Service

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!
