  You are able to use BBM before this update without any problem?

  If you are then try reinstalling BBM who may help, do that on your homescreen go to Options > device > application management > delete BlackBerry Messenger in the list.

  After a recent upgrade of my BBM icon label changed to net.rim.bb and when I click to send a BBM I get tell screen: Eception missing Exception of resource files.  How can I fix this?  I am running OS 6.0 Bundle 2647.

  With a network carrier signal strong, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... ( Please wait for this before moving on to the next step) :

  (1) registry HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
  • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

  (2) Service reference books

  • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

  (3) restart to take batt

  • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  I recently bought a Blackberry 9700 from T-Mobile, platform 5,0,0,351 5,1,0,98 and whenever I try to scan a barcode of bbm friends, nothing happens. I tried different screens and different positions, sometimes crashes just the phone and I have to do a battery pull. I downloaded the new bbm OTA because update my manager office woont. It is not a big problem, but I was wondering why it does not work.

  I don't know if its ok to post a different problem, but I thought it would be easier to get a response, then make another post. The 2nd problem I have is with voice dialing, it does not load if it has a large number of contacts, I fixed it by deleting most of my contacts. It works fine now, but I waz wondering if there is a way to solve this problem, so I can have more contacts.

  It seems that it is a relatively common problem.  At this point, I'm still not quite sure if it's just a problem with the latest version of BlackBerry Messenger, or if this is a problem on the server side, but the RIM is aware of the issue and I hope that we will be able to resolve the issue relatively little time.

  Update your BBM to the latest version, and then try again.

  You have 6 BBM? There are a few OS problems with older Blackberry OS phones. I suggest you try any OS upgrade available for 8520.

  You must ring in orange and pass your rate at one with the blackberry internet bolt on, as you need this option to use bbm etc hope this helps!
