  I recently bought a unlocked 9550 Storm and use it on the GSM network in India.  I have configured my Blackberry Enterprise Server emails on the phone, and according to my organizational policies, the phone is password protected and auto locks every 30 minutes.  When the phone is in unlock mode, all incoming calls, displays the name of my book.  However, when I get calls in lock mode, no name is displayed and only the no. is displayed.  Seems that incoming calls are unable to find the number in my book, when the phone is in lock mode. All the solutions for this?

  Also, I see not to call waiting, call forward, calls and FDN phone list in my phone Options menu options.

  At least, I managed to solve the problem with incoming calls.

  Go to Options > Secutiry Options > encryption and select No to "include the Contacts". This way that contacts will not be not encrypted and you can call the names even when the phone is locked

  I currently own a 9530...

  I bought it until I've done enough research. Knowing what I know now, here, I had the 9550. (I really wish I had the WiFi option.)

  My question:

  Is the difference between the two material, or is - something that just software (which could be bought and loaded).

  Ok. a long long story. old storm 1 worked great until the key on the phone quit Board. went to verizon, they couldn't fix it and so I got a new storm2. This is where the problem started. They low loading the list of contacts to the new phone and for some reason, everything appeared 4 times. they couldn't solve and after a lot of hell and a wipe of my Office Manager and a new download, I managed to erase the contacts from my phone. However, now the list of contacts on the phone won't go up, and of course the doesn't even synchronization does not occur. It shows to be synchronization but still, she leaves with 2 remaining and I get the dreaded error message and then the Manager stops. the calendar sync finally and it's work. work emails and I can call as long as I remember the number. I turned off the synchronization of the image as the said forums that might be the problem. and that is where I am. any help would be appreciated.

  • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  To use the Push RIM owner messaging capability, you must have an adequate data of your carrier plan. Carriers host BIS BB users. In general, BIS is not available through generic data plans.   I'm trying to figure out how to connect my BB Storm 2 9550 to my WiFi router. The router uses WPA2 security system. I can locate the router using the WiFi on the BB. But then, it generates a PIN code and tells me to install into the router! HUH? My Z10 just asked for the PIN located on the back of the router box and I typed it in and presto... I had WiFi on. The Storm 2 is not compatible with WPA2 or y at - it a setting or method I'm missing?

  Press the WPS button. Then, in two minutes, perform the Setup wps wifi on the storm.

  I just got a unlocked 9550 and I tried to connect to 3G, but couldn't. I went to the Mobile Option network-> network technology: GSM/UMTS. And when I select 3G network Mode, my phone is not able to find a network. It can only connect to 2G. Rogers is not wearing the phone yet or is this my phone problem?

  9550 device has no radio to Rgoers 3 G network bands. It's a waste of time search.

• BlackBerry 9550 smartphones - cannot load the operating system and a re-boot loop

  Sorry if this is going to be a long post.

  I've been running OS 428 and a hybrid (428 based) since it was leaked without a hitch. 2 weeks ago, my 9550 rebooted on its own with a JVM ERROR 534 (I think it's the code because the screen just turned white with the error message and then rebooted on its own). He never started up properly then. The boot process dates back to about 3/4 of the way then the FMV of error appears again then re - start. A batt pull does not help.

  I wiped and loaded (loader.exe) operating system but when loading cod, it will again restart (reboot occurs when email.cod is loading). Tried several times and never loaded properly. I tried a load OS 428 right and it went well. When it is started successfully, I wiped the device and loaded the hybrid that I used before and everything was fine. When filtered 451, I upgraded and everything is fine - for a week!

  He has just restarted on its own again. I think with the same JVM error code! I'm unable to load the operating system using loader.exe. I even tried the "loader.exe /nojvm" switch does not. I wiped with Jl_cmdr or BBSAK, still no go. I then used DM BB. I loaded OS 320 and loaded correctly. Then I wiped and loaded the OS. It is not load or when it loads successfully, the JVM error still appears 3/4 of the way of the boot process.

  So when I load OS 320, it will load fine even after a battery pull. If I use OS 428 or 451 (both narrowed via Shrink-a-BONE), JVM error no longer appears when using the device or during the startup process. Don't forget not that previously I was using either straight (shrunken) 428 or 451 and a hybrid with no problems.

  I decided to try a derelict OS 451 and used the "Platform.alx" of OS 320 file. It works so far! Pulled the battery about 4 - 5 times already and loaded all my apps and no JVM error for about 2 days. I tried right OS 320 and he also re - will start on its own several times a day.

  It looks like completely wipe the device using BBSAK, Jl_cmdr and DM BB do not really completely clear the device.

  What could have caused the reboots and error JVM?

  EDIT: I tried to wipe the device using the erase option in the security options. The status bar has reached 100% and then restarting the device, the FMV of error pops up again and my 9550 goes back to a continuous process of reboot (even pulled the battery).

  EDIT: I tried the command line "javaloade.exe usb - cloth" to wipe the device and the OS loaded (using loader.exe /nojvm) very well. In the end, shippers said "updated successfully". The unit restarted and about 3/4 of the way - another jvm error! I removed the battery and wait a few minutes before re - insert and is currently the starting now... Will update what's going to happen...

  EDIT: Yes! It finally starts. Will try an another battery pull... 1/4 of the way in which the boot process - another JVM error! Pulled the battery and restart... Error JVM still about 50% in the boot process.

  EDIT: Can't get any OS to load using 'loader.exe' or 'loader.exe /nojvm. It stops during email.cod loading, then restarts. I was able to load OS 320 well via BB DM. problem is when I click on Options, error: "error starting net_rimm_bb_options_app: symbol KeywordFilteredScreen.» KeyChar "not found" is my watered device? Help, please. Thank you!

  EDIT: I tried to load the operating system by:

  -remove the battery.

  -Connect to the PC.

  -Command prompt: command /nojvm loader.exe

  -When it says connection to the device and the battery with a red 'X' icon is displayed, I re - insert the battery.

  -The operating system loads very well but are unable to properly start like 3/4 of the progress bar startup occurs an error in the JVM and then reboot again. Help!

  --> Was able to start properly after a second reboot not forced. Will try a battery pull... JVM error again... Will allow it to boot on his own w/o a battery pull...  Error JVM... Removed the battery, re - insert... Error JVM... allowed to start on its own... Error JVM!... I remove the battery and reinsert after 5 minutes... JVM error yet... What is it recharges without end?

  I'm having a problem with my 9550. The phone will not in the mode to the Holster when I put it in the Holster. The holster is a case of BB and the magnet is still there and strong. I tried to run the magnet closure on the front and the back of the phone to see if the screen would go black as it did on my other BBs but the 9550 is not affected by the magnet.

  I usually put my BB shut up when out of the Holster and vibrate and alert when in the Holster, but I noticed I was Miss calls and notices of meeting. I just got this phone a few days ago and I tried to troubleshoot myself without a bit of luck.

  Executing 5.0.0.607 and on the Verizon network.

  Case which is?

  I noticed on my 9550 magnet hit dead center of the phone (before on the screen or the back) and the screen goes to sleep.

  I have a new symbol on my screen that I can't identify. It looks like messaging voicemail symbol 0_0 but is much smaller & has 2 dots on it. It says 10 to the left, assuming that 10 new whatevers... The voicemail symbol was beside him when I used my phone today (so it is clearly not the voicemail), but disappeared when I created my new voicemail for the first time (I use it with a foreign carrier then abroad for a few months).   There is no voice messages.

  Has anyone seen something like this?  The symbol does not appear in the guides / BB user keys. I couldn't find any solution on this forum, but either.    I went through each element of program & menu & he has no messages not read of any kind.

  It is an indicator that you have a 'special' kind of messaging voicemail message waiting.

  From my research, I received the following:

  • A point: Fax waiting message for voicemail.
  •  Two points: waiting for message voicemail by email.
  •  Three points: other type of box voice message waiting.

  It's a bug in the current operating system of your device.

  One way around it is to go to OPtions > screen/keyboard > keyboard mode portrait and change there SureType or Mutlitap.

  And save.

  I use QuickPull to reboot my phone and I noticed that it takes on average 10-15 minutes to restart, is this normal?  Looks like a very long time for me.

  Quite normal in my experience. Everything depends on how load the BB is. For example, if you wipe and reload your OS from scratch and don't add anything, it will restart faster. When you add 3rd party applications, data, application, etc., the time gets longer. The timeline you mention is quite consistent in my experience.

• BlackBerry 9550 Smartphone touch screen buttons not working not

  I've been around and with the customer service on this - the buttons on the lower right corner of my phon (including red buttons and return) do not work.  I pulled the battery several times and wiped the phone, making it very well run for an hour or two before the return of the problem.  Customer service insists that the problem is related to the data in my phone (?), which is ridiculous.  They keep encouraging me to upgrade, but I don't have the phone for a year! Is the product of the touchscreen just useless and I should get a "BOLD"?

  Well I finally gave up and ordered the replacement phone.  Can not say that this is not new, frankly, and works as it is, so that was the point.
