BlackBerry smartphones, I can send emails but not receive everything?

Hey guys n gals.

I'm new to Blackberry and to be honest I'm not the most technical person in the world!

I recently got a blackberry pearl 8100.  have allowed the bolt on with 02 etc.

I can send emails, but I can't receive all - would appreciate any help you can give me

EU thanks TI tri - turned out there was a firewall in place that blocked all my emails to come through.

for those who don't know, here's what to do: -.

go to options, security options, firewall and uncheck the box for BIS

    This error is often associated with folders created by the user. I seem to remember that a user facing this error discovered that he had reached the upper limit on the number of files. Is this possible? There is a maximum number of folders created by the user regardless of the nesting level, and I think it's 128. Otherwise, check that the files that you see in Windows Live Mail are identical to those that you see at http://mail.live.com. If you have recently added a folder, empty it by moving its contents into a folder under storage folders, and then remove it.

    The program log shows where the error arises. Registration is enabled on the page of Maintenance program options, you can get to by pressing Ctrl-Shift-O for Options when displaying your message list. You will see the button of the Maintenance on the Advanced tab and logging for the different modes is selected at the bottom of the page.     Until last Monday (3/16) my email worked fine.  I downloaded and installed version 4.7.0.32(which je n'avais pas encore utilisée-n'importe quelle version) Office Manager at my work computer.  I went through the Setup process and thought that I had done everything right.  The first sign something was wrong was that I had duplicate appointments and items to my calendar, two of everything!  I soon discovered that e-mails sent to my email to work (I have the connection with an Enterprise Server) are not transferred to my Blackberry.  The strange thing is, every email that I send TO my work email is displayed on my Blackberry.  I'm not having problems with SMS or e-mail that is transferred from my home email so I suspect I missed inadvertently to the top of my business account settings.  I checked to make sure there is no rules or filters put in place and nothing found.  I searched each of the help pages, configuration and I could find the settings. Twice! And still not found what I recognize as a solution.  I'm not really interested in the Desktop Manager, but they suspect that if I delete it out of my work computer it won't change things.  I am almost certain that my problem is related to the Desktop Manager settings, emails literally ceased to be passed right after that (checked by comparing my BB with my business account).  Thanks for the help.

    OK, time to sit down and scoot up a big portion of Corneille.  Despite my first two efforts to find filters or transfer rules I found them on my third.  I don't know how I missed it, but I have an option on Fund Manager that has affected my email.  Now, I need to look like see why do I get duplicate calendar events...

    Ouch! Please do not yell at us. We can hear you if you type normally, in different cases.

    What email program are you using? I can't be sure of what you say above, but in all likelihood you have not correctly configured your e-mail program with the correct name of the SMTP server. Ask your ISP for the correct name.

    I have a Blackberry Curve 9320 with Virgin Mobile Canada.  I have the unlimited plan for Blackberry Messaging on my account which includes sending and receiving unlimited emails.  I have not received my email of problems but when I try to reply, send or before I get a black box pop up saying:

    You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application.  If you want to use this application, please contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan.

    I spoke with Virgin Mobile Canada on several occasions.  They have me guided through various corrections but also removed and added the function several times.  After that 3 days of work with their technical support I am still unable to send, reply, or forward any email to my BlackBerry smart phone but can still receive.

    What are the next steps I take?

It is the only channel to receive help from BlackBerry... via the escalation at Virgin. You have no free path to work around them, and they do it for you.     There are three computers in the opffice, 2 have windows 7 and the other is XP. Both with windows 7 suddenly will not send emails on windows live mail. all three are on the same network. I contacted Norton to see if that was the problem and they came to the conclusion that it wasn't Norton but the ISP or Windows Server problem. It receives very well but when you send a message, it will then an error message appears (554 5.7.1 rejected database end user not allowed to relay).

    There is no new software or hardware installed!

  • 7520 can send faxes but cannot receive faxes

    We just installed the 7520 and everything seems to work fine except the reception of faxes.

    We can send faxes fine, but the strange thing is when I try to call the fax number for a phone, it acts like its dead, you never hear it ring or whatever it is, then it just disconnects. If I pass the phone cord to the Ext on the back of the unit and then dial the number I hear it ring the phone and the device 7520.  The screen lights up because there is an incoming call and shows that auto answer is on, but when he answers we never hear the normal fax type tones and it never connects.

    The phone is provided by Time Warner Cable and it plugs into the cable modem. We called Time Warner and they told us that the line for the fax is an analog line, but I have no idea how to verify or prove that.

    I can't understand why he's going to send faxes without problem but looks like it is a dead line trying to receive a fax.

    Any thoughts?
