BlackBerry smartphones, I think I messed up my phone

Hey everybody,

So, today I pluged in my BB tour to see if there was any software updates.  There is not, but I decided that I might as well clean up some of the apps I never use.  So I deleted the and had my phone re boot, but when he turned to the screen is not displayed:

BlackBerry platform 4.1.0.70

BrickBreaker

MemoPad

Options

Saved messages

All displayed almost as plain text.  No graphics, nothing.

The menu button does nothing either.

Help, please!

Thank you

The current theme you were using at the time could have deleted.

The appliance reboot and everything on the screen is gray?

You can just re - connect to Desktop software and reinstall those applications that you deleted.

Try to run your device in safe mode. You should be able to remove the theme of the problem. I suggest a peripheral complete backup using Desktop Manager before deleting anything.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not send messages or make phone calls

My BB torch worked fine earlier, but there is an hour, it just stopped.  He has connections and bars, until in the Connections window bit. I tried it turn on and off as well as to take out the battery after it's off to reset.  I tried to remove all of my old conversations in the phone as well. I can still connect to the internet on this topic very well.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your provider of wireless services for formal support.

    Good luck!

You can download any OS you want here:
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Once installed on your PC, you should remove all files named "vendor.xml." This 'cut' and allow you to install this OS on your device.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I think I nuked my curve

I was updating my curve using the new version of the Desktop Manager, and everything seemed to unfold.  At the end of the process I got an error message and my BB screen was white with, I think, a circle, triangle and the heart.  They had a line through them with a message 507.

I looked at the message 507 and deleted my vendor.xml file and tried to reload everything using the apploader.  That did not work.  Now, my screen is black but the light flashes red continuously two times all the seconds.

When I try to use the apploader or remove applications in Office Manager appears a little box that says PIN: and the password.  Section PIN allow me to type in my PIN code and it is empty.  It doesn't let me do something beyond this screen and I'm stuck here.

Suggestions that you guys could give would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  • BlackBerry smartphones is thinking of getting a BB BOLD 9000 - Please HELP!

I am in need of a new mobile device so I thought I'd do a BB Bold 9000 or iPhone 3 g. I noticed more people seem to use BB on iPhone and all my friends are making a for the text of BB so I thought I'd get too. [There are a few things I would like to know from the users of this device before I decide to buy so I would really appreciate if someone could help me with a few questions:]

    1. do YouTube, BBC iPlayer and other video streaming websites works on BB Bold 9000 and play smoothly? (especially YouTube!)

    2. can I use all of the features of the BB without being on a BB Internet Plan?

(I'll get a unlocked and be on PAYG with internet unlimited, I'll use the web versions of Hotmail to display my e-mail address, but if I wanted to set up an e-mail account of BB, would this be possible?)

    3. What is the maximum of the expandable memory of the BB Bold 9000 will recognize?

4 will be all the apps in the BB App store be available to buy even if I live in the United Kingdom?

    5. is the web browser that is stable when connected via Wi - Fi?

[That's all I can think of at the moment, any response would be much appraciated as mentioned:]

    Thank you, Natalie

1 Youtube works on BlackBerry as long as the device has the latest version of the operating system software.

    2. you may not use all the features of BB without a data plan.  To be honest, you can be quite disappointed with a BB if you don't have a data plan.  NO e-mail without data plan.  You will be able to view web pages if you have a wifi connection, but that's all.

3 depends on the device and the OS version but more support up to 16 or 32 GB cards.  However, cards are only for the media and could not install applications on the card.

    4. applications are available for purchase in AppWorld, but you need a BB data plan.

    5. Yes, but what if all you do is navigation and you compare to the iPhone then you may be disappointed.  If you do not have a BB data plan, it is possible, that you would be happier with an iPhone because everything most of its features work on a wifi connection.

I should have left alone. I read a 'soft reset' in another forum and tried out. I hope someone didn't post it knowing what he would do. In any case, my camera is totally dead, useless, for that, nada. I guess the only thing for me to do is to take it to the Verizon store and see if they can resusitate, unless someone here has a suggestion.

Don't be afraid of the reboot batt-pop: it's actually the first thing to try whenever things behaving strangely, slowly, etc... see this:

  • Issue of BB big blackBerry Smartphones! Information is automatically deleted and phone is loading & all the freezing time.

    Hi all!

Recently, I unlocked my blackberry torch 9800 and start using a Korean SIM. The name of the carrier is Olleh. As soon as the phone loaded with Korean sim card I expect a lot of problems with my phone. The black timer icon appears whenever I try to use the phone to do anything pictures/SMS/calls etc. This makes the use of any application, that really need me a lot of time, and more that the phone is slow.  It's as if the phone is blocked and it is always busy, which makes the battery last less than 2 hours. Then begins the most serious problem. Because of what I described, I run very often of the battery. When I load again the phone and turn it on, all the activity that I did the last time is deleted. This means that the history of calls, texts, contacts, memos and others disappear whenever I have run out of battery. Since I have this problem (about 2 weeks) I was not able to store contacts, record memos, set reminders etc.

I read that there are no viruses for blackberry. I don't have many applications, so I don't think that it is a memory problem. My only guess, is that something in the configuration has changed when I unlocked the phone or put the card sim Korean. I looked in all the menus (options, configuration, etc) to see if something was wrong and that he could not solve the problem.

I appreciate your advice and suggestions to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

Try a battery pull if you please, with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot the device. This will clear all hide as restarting a PC. Then try again and see if the problem persists.

On device, go to Options, device, application management is a great way to see what your applications with your use of the CPU on Smartphone. Simply drag bar greater than CPU and see what happens. Also touch the CPU menu to see other time variables. I discovered that an application has been eroding CPU cycles on my own

Disable Compression on the memory card? go to Options, device, storage

using a custom theme? Try it for a day that factory by default to avoid your theme

remember the ESC key to close most applications, with the exception of GPS and some chat clients. other applications must use the menu and then exit or close. The key furthest to the right is a key to the House and does not close on its own apps, but will put an end to the calls.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones AT & T can't find my phone... or he can't find them

Well, here you go. Background: me... This 8310 curve is my first ever smart phone. Never sent a text. Have only a vague understanding of what an application is, and the idea to interface my phone with my computer is scarey.  I'm strarting to ground ZERO. Please use acronyms as little as possible, because I don't know what you're talking about. Thank you.

Since the beginning: first of all, I'm pretty broke so I found an absolutely Virgin opportunity AT & T Blackberry curve 8310 online, & don't want to enter into a contract now because of a cross contry pass soon, so I plan to use Straighttalk wireless. I'm now w / AT & T.

Don't know if these are good ideas, but I'm new & dumb, then let's get past & on the problem.

Everything about the operation of the phone leads me to believe that he saw virtually no use & especially no abuse.

I put my AT & T SIM in the phone, called AT & T and told them I wanted to turn it on. They have connected it & said I'd be ready to go, but the phone remains in SOS signal mode.

So we (the AT & T tech & me) starts 2 hours of diagnosis. To search the water for the reset, reboot & proceedures damage I don't understend & that's why I don't remember the specifics of. I'm sorry for that, especially if it means that you don't have enough to go. But I have ti think that after 2 hours of it that we got through all of the common issues.

So, I guess that why I'm here is to ask if someone has been through this & found some quirky thing bit on the wall to solve. I guess I can't exclude a material defect, but the guy I got the phone says used successfully for a short period & stored. (Says he will give me a refund, so I don't think it takes anything)  It literally looks brand new & functions the same way, except that AT & T shows no signal except the thing of SOS.

This just happens with phones? If I don't give enough information, please ask, but don't forget, I'm really stupid things. I have the v4.5.0.174 of desktop software.

My phone says it's v4.5.0.182 (Platform 2.7.0.106) I did some update phone that displayed on my computer

I don't think I've ever done in a forum where no one has stopped the same to say hi so far.

I found my problem anyway, so no entry is necessary

  • BlackBerry Smartphones New 9900 s - cannot update cell phones

Just bought two 9900 and installed (twice so far) the program BB Desktop Software. The difficulty to complete the update of the first phone software. Finally managed to configure and then synchronize the phone. However, under the 'Applications' tab in the desktop software, there was a software update and two other programs to install (I think that's something DOD and another to install.) When I launched the update and install, I could see the files being downloaded apparently, but now the screen appears to be locked in the applications of update - update - box device software download, with the green circle progress assets. The progress at the bottom of the box bar says "Connecting to the boot ROM" above him, but there is no indication of progress in the last 3 hours. Is this process at a standstill on / locked or is - it normal to have no feedback on installation? The box also says, "do not unplug the unit before the day is over". Thank you very much.

Thanks for the reply. I got a bit of a workaround for my particular situation. I had tried several times to use the Blackberry Desktop program on a Windows XP virtual machine, that will run on a linux host (as bb is not so far seem to think to provide a linux version of the program for linux users is worth.) Subsequently, I decided to get the wireless working on the laptop, what boots double and install the program office bb on xp he. Although she gave me even a few error messages, I could do the update of the OS and install the 2 other programs on my bb. Also found my outlook contacts and their transfer to my cell. All's well that ends well I guess. Thank you very much.

  • BlackBerry smartphone touch screen does not work, 2 phone... Torch = junk

It's my 2nd my first Torch torch touch work stoppeed and ATT sent me another...

Now this torch touchscreen stopped working, so far, I did a reboot hard and soft...

now I can do a factory reset or downgrade...

IM starting to think that the torch is undesirable.

Well, I talked to ATT tech support and I actually finally got through to BB and they open a case and gave me a number of good ticket for 3 days...  The first tech support was a dunce and she told me that 7 hours was taken long to upgrade software, so she told me to unplug and re install...  That solves nothing, only bricked my torch, even though she was right about one thing 7 hours is far too long, but it does not solve anything...

then I recalled in support of BB using my ticket number... and here I actually spoke to somebody who knew what he was doing...  We connected through desktop remotely, and he guided me...

He told me to never update device software when the software asks you to update...  I told him, I was getting a white screen and it says App Error 200...  He told me that we have a clean wipe and install everything new facility...  He has directed to the site from ATT and I DL the latest peripherique.246 software...  Then after it DL'ed I installed;...

then he had me to connect the device again AND GO INTO PROGRAMS CAN record B\LACKBERRY

then find charger, here, he had me select the apps I would like to, and then click Next...

then after 5 minutes it finished loading, he then told me to wait another 10 minutes for the device to reboot and then my torch works!

If anybodys touchscreen doesn't work more or torch is made of bricks, I highly recommend doing this procedure...

I called BB again and had them send me an email for accurate insrucions, so I recorded in case this happens again... Here it is...  Keep in mind first you need access to the ATT site will link you to the site Web de Blackberry and then DL file then open and install and do the following...

Check that the device client software is installed on their computer, or it won't work.

    1. click on the start menu
    2. go in my computer
    3. go in: C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/Apploader
    -If its 64-bit windows, it will be C:/Program Files(x86) /Common Files/Research in Motion/Apploader
    4. double-click on "loader.exe" (it may be called "loader" according to windows settings)
    5. a window opens saying "welcome in the application loader wizard." Click next
6 next, where it is written 'Connection' to ensure that either "USB - PIN:" or "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN" appear. ""
    7. click on next. It take a while to connect to the device and then view the Application selection screen.
-L'application selection screen will be a list of application control.
-Items that are checked will be installed, if they do not already exist on the device.
-Items that are not checked will not install, and if they already exist on the device they will be deleted.
    8. ask the customer to scroll through this list and check all applications they know they would like on their blackberry.
    9. once everything looks good, click Next.
    10. click on the Advanced button.
    11. make sure that 'remove all previously installed applications' and "Delete all application data" is checked.
    12. click Next.
    13. If loader.exe asks you if you want to automatically back up and restore data, select "do not automatically backup and restore."
    14. click Next and then finish
15 advise the customer that this process can take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes, and everything they do during this time is to ensure that the blackberry is connected. The first time that their blackberry starts after this process, it will stay on the screen of the hourglass for about 10 minutes, nothing to worry about.

Once the client can see the home screen of their blackberry, they're OK disconnect.

The customer will have to re - turn on their radio, they can do so by going to manage connections > select Mobile network

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM has exchanged with the old phone?

    Hello

Updated my BB Messenger (as suggested).  A msg came to the effect: "your BBM is registered on another handset, you want to migrate to the current?   I clicked Yes, and then the profile of my daughter appeared as mine!  She has my old handset for BB.

Call to our section A local support and they suggested wipe us our phones completely and then start again.  It is certainly easier, less radical way to address this issue?

    Thanks in advance.

I thought so too, but I think they were right.
