BlackBerry Smartphones now I really messed...

I should have left alone. I read a 'soft reset' in another forum and tried out. I hope someone didn't post it knowing what he would do. In any case, my camera is totally dead, useless, for that, nada. I guess the only thing for me to do is to take it to the Verizon store and see if they can resusitate, unless someone here has a suggestion.

Don't be afraid of the reboot batt-pop: it's actually the first thing to try whenever things behaving strangely, slowly, etc... see this:

Whenever random strange behaviors creep, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

It's the only thing that really clears the memory and loads the operating system completely fresh. It's like turn off and then restart your PC... it clears the memory and load all clean, but everything that has been recorded is preserved.

Best!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I really turn this thing off?

I'm puzzled.  I can turn off my 8900 by holding down the power button.  Or I can go into the menu and choose Disable Power and he says: "Handheld Turning Off, Press Any Key to Abort."  As I understand it, which is truly off the phone, by contrast with the right locking.

But all I have to do is press the power button (for example, the red button "hang up") and the phone turns on again immediately.  I get the T-Mobile logo for a second or two, then I go straight to my home page.  So it does not appear that he is really off.  First of all, I got on the phone and it works, it took 30 seconds or so to start completely.  It seems like it should do it now, too.

If I turn the phone off, I want it to be OFF.  I don't want to come back if one of the big buttons is tapped lightly.  I want him to stay off until I have press and hold this button.  If I turn it off ' ", and put it in my pocket, he could come back and sound when I don't want it.  So, I want to be sure that the phone is really off and it will stay like that.

Is this possible?  I'm just doing something wrong?

    Thanks for any help!

There is no other options beside it. It comes default BlackBerry. When you press the RED button, you should get two options. If you choose full power off, then your phone will fill out mode. Now, if you put your phone in a case then there is no option to power on automatically.

  • BlackBerry smartphones now, I have a new problem with this phone...

I said in my last post that it's my first smartphone, and I'm having some problems with it.

I played one of the videos stored in my phone, now it won't let me play all videos, he invites me this "device media processor is busy"...

Also, I noticed this evening that I have no sounds for calls incoming, texts, etc... I went to try and ' change ringtones and it keeps telling me "invalid ringtone selected, please make another selection '.» But the thing is, is that these are the ringtones to the phone is equipped with? Has anyone seen this before or have any solution?

  • Battery for blackBerry Smartphones now dead fast?

    Have Storm II 9550. V 5.0.0.71 3.

Everything worked very well. Now three times the light on the top right of the BB flashes red.

Check and don't know why. No appeal. E-mails sent all cleared etc.

Then, in a short time the battery died after being charged. Pull the battery, charge, red light does not blink.

Once saw something like, impossible to connect to the radio message.? I didn't connect to the radio.

    1. is there a way to see what is running on my camera so I can't find which could run battery down.

    2. the device that can remove Skypre and other applications.

    Thank you for your help.

PS. has added a few applications from BB App World. Pull quickly. Quick tips. Dictionary.

    Verizon service.

    1. Yes. If you simply press the Red "end call" key to return to the home screen application is actually open and running in the background. If you do this several times, you will have many apps open and therefore your memory will get used. If you make a habit of actually use the menu button to close the applications that will at least slow this process memory-clogging.

To check what applications run on your device in the background, press the Menu key, and then click switching Applications. You will see icons for each application it.

So now, check your applications running in the background. There are four or five applications that will always run fluently (Messages, Call Logs/phone, BlackBerry Messenger, home screen and the browser; there are other third-party applications such as BeeJive and alerts of BlackBerry that will work also in the bottom that you can not close if you want they work). Ensure that the browser is NOT on an active Web page (open the browser and select the Menu > close). Close all other applications that do not need to be running (the camera or a game you were playing or Google Maps).

    2. you can't really delete these shortcuts to application "pushed," not very easy installation. It is simpler:
To do this: create a folder on your home screen and name it "Junk" (you can choose to be more creative the folder name ). Now, highlight each unwanted icon and press the Menu key > go to folder and move it to the folder "spam". That, for each, you don't want to do.
Now, highlight this "Junk" folder, and select Menu > hide.
Out of site, out of mind. Meanwhile, feel free to complain to Verizon or their own user forums.

Now, if you have actually have Skype installed, go to Options > Applications, scroll to Skype, open it and press DELETE.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones that I really need to upgrade? If so, who pays?

I continue to receive notices of upgrade to v. 6.0 to 14 MB in size.  I called BB - they say that it is my supplier; I called my provider - they say that it is BB.  What should I do this?  It costs me in data?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

RIM is pushing no OS updates directly to end users. Each carrier is responsible for all support to their end-users... as such, they retain the right to adopt or not to adopt all levels of the operating system. Therefore, anyone who at Bell tells you that it is not them is, well, wrong. You will not receive notification if they were not pushing it.

With regard to the data... all data charges against all that is your plan. So, Yes, it would cost to do the OTA update.

But, honestly, I would strongly recommend AGAINST OTA updates. You see, with an OTA update, one on the device backup of all your data is taken and used to restore once the update is complete. But if something should go wrong with the update, this backup file is lost forever. If use you a computer to do the update, you can (and should) first take a manual backup and safely store this file away something go wrong.

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I think I messed up my phone

    Hey everybody,

So, today I pluged in my BB tour to see if there was any software updates.  There is not, but I decided that I might as well clean up some of the apps I never use.  So I deleted the and had my phone re boot, but when he turned to the screen is not displayed:

    BlackBerry platform 4.1.0.70

    BrickBreaker

    MemoPad

    Options

    Saved messages

All displayed almost as plain text.  No graphics, nothing.

The menu button does nothing either.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

The current theme you were using at the time could have deleted.

The appliance reboot and everything on the screen is gray?

You can just re - connect to Desktop software and reinstall those applications that you deleted.

  • BlackBerry smartphones identifying a really unlocked 8320

I recently bought a used version of US T-Mobile 8320, but it does not recognize my SIM card overseas. Said "Invalid SIM" and I get the indication 'SOS Only' of some networks and SIM card works in another GSM phone.  Is there a place to go to set the frequency of the network for GSM carriers overseas?  Or is the SIM card, I did not compatible with the Blackberry?

    Thank you

  • How to get BlackBerry Smartphones Now Playing to shut up!

I can't stop a song by pressing the pause button, but as soon as I press the button mute to put my phone in standby mode, it takes it a command to start playing where it left off.  The only way to silence it is to wait until the song ends!  Why there is no intuitive way to handle this?

This scenario is common for all BlackBerry devices. After a break from music if you want to close then click the Menu button and select close.

  • The country code of blackBerry Smartphones now to contact phone numbers

As much as the rest of you did, I stupidly upgraded to OS 5.0 and working on new features.

Here's something that intrigues me, however. Now when I dial a number from my contacts list (even one in my own city and area code), my BB puts a + 1 (country code for the US) before the number.

As I don't remember seen this before, it's something new? Or do I have a wrong setting (that I will discover on my Bill in a few days).

    Thanks much for the ideas.

I've changed the 'unknown' country code and now my caller id info works properly

  • Emails from blackBerry Smartphones now take several hours to reach handset BB: dept IT don't believe me!

Have a BB 8310 on a British provider (O2).  It's a working BB so everything is done by the IT Department and the company's server.  The first weeks it worked fine.  Last week, I noticed that I wasn't getting emails. As I was on vacation, I wasn't too worried, but then I realized that I had not received emails for a day or two.  Check on my laptop, I had received a lot of emails in the intermediate days.  The BB just seemed to be stopped automatically reconclining with my Outlook.

Switch the phone on, turn off, forcing him to reconcile or remove an email on my BB seems to force to reconcile and will solve the problem temporarily.  The handset will behave so for an hour or two and then seems to go back to sleep.  It takes hours for an email coming through the handset and it's just bcause (I think) I went in a place with little or no service and when it detects a signal once again, he is reconciled with Outlook.

Back the BB to my local IT Department.  They went on and outside telephone, sent a test email (which happens quickly) and told me it was fixed (haven't tried to tell them that it is only a temporary fix). After persuading, they kept their hands on the BB for a few hours and sent emails from test etc which have all failed to pass through. Advisable to take for our largest IT Department.

Went through the same thing with them, but they do not see a problem (Yes, they he turns on and turns off again and of course the test e-mail came through). Would not quite believe me when I told them what was going on.  It's my second BB so I'm confident enough to use it etc so I can't imagine!

Any ideas of what to do or what to say the IT Department to do?

    Thank you.

    Steven

Thanks for the email.  Tried your suggestion, but nothing helped.  I had to restore the CMIME file.  I will send it to the IT Department once more!

    Thanks again.
