BlackBerry smartphones reduced keyboard - keys 20 and 14. Re: password locked out.

I created my password to unlock the phone to the reduced keyboard layout, and my son had the phone to the standard QWERTY layout, after which it is automatically disabled.  now, I can not in my phone because I do not know the keys corresponding to the QWERTY.  I can't find a screenshot or image of the layout of the keyboard options in any guide anywhere.  any help anyone? or, who should I contact to get my password reset.

I'm still confused, but here's the order for the multitap keyboard from left to right (between the two bars are breaks as well as numbers in blue are the numbers that appear if you press the number selector)).  It's so, it appears on my Storm, but it should be the same on the torch.

1 .,!? | 2 ABC | 3 DEF

4 GHI | 5 JKL | 6 MNO

7 PQRS | 8 TUV | 9 WXYZ

* :;() | 0 space. # aA (caps)

123 | SYM | Remove | Come in

On the SureType keyboard, it's as follows:

QW | ER | TY | USER INTERFACE | OP

ACE | DF | GH | JK | L

ZX | CV | NL | M | delete

!? 123 | SYM | space | aA (caps). Come in

I hope that helps!

    Hello

Recently, my BB Curve 8520 got damaged by water & with immediate support from a local vendor, it got fixed.

    Now,.

Should I go to an authorized service center to solve this problem?

    Hi shahi_kailash

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

Check here and locate the authorized Service Center near you, service centers for the BlackBerry Smartphones in India . But FYI as much as I know they will fix all the water damage to devices.

You can contact any local Mobile repair shop and see what they can offer. But more often in a water damage repair BlackBerry smartphone will cost a lot and you can't guarantee that it will work perfectly over a long period, you may experience the same problem right now or a new. So I think better to buy a new device or an opportunity instead of this unit damaged by the water.

  • Unlocking blackBerry Smartphones 8830 World Edition GSM and code provider

    Hello

I'm a guy unsavvy tech and have an 8830 World Edition phone. Bought this from Auntie Indicom (Vendor ID: 269), a CDMA operator which also provided a GSM SIM for only international roaming. Last month, number portability Mobile came into India, and I went to a GSM provider, Vodafone India. After the transfer of numbers, simply inserted the new Vodafone SIM and the phone and Blackberry services are working well with the new operator. Two questions:

    1. from the Options-> advanced-> SIM card Options, after typing MEPD, I see:

    ID: a large number

    Customization:

    Disabled SIM

    Active network

    Network subset disabled

    Service Provider disabled

    People with reduced mobility

Does this mean that my Blackberry is locked? If Yes, is it blocked by Vodafone? Given that I have moved the Auntie service provider Vodafone and does not seem to wear the same number on the same phone, aunt locked the phone.

    2. type Alt-EACE, I always see the Vendor ID 269 (Auntie). See also the logo of Auntie initially upwards. Is it possible that I can change the ID of the seller or at least stop getting the start screen for the old vendor? This ID Vendo has something to do with the above-mentioned lock?

Would be very grateful if some kind soul illuminates.

    Thank you

There must be something different on a BB WE that allows the use of other SIMs, though always stuck at home carrier. Odd, but your experience proves the theory. I seriously doubt that release will make a difference, but certainly to try I guess.

I don't know why your BB is as you describe... but, I want to propose the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried. However, you want to be careful here. I don't know how you originally got your BB running services on your current operator. All BB services are controlled by the Service books. If a carrier does not natively support a BB model on their network, there are a few things that need to be taken to get these SBs on than non-native BB. If only it had to do, don't go here... you could just wipe out all your services level of BB. But if none of these tricks are required (which would mean that your carrier supports natively your BB model), then you should be safe to go ahead.

Steps 1 and 2 each should translate into a message to your BB to come:

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

Maybe it will make a difference. I really do not know about you, to be honest. It's a tricky business, and you can well serve just as well by getting a new BB you get from your carrier... which by the way, you would have at least that the formal support at your disposal channel.

    Good luck!

OK, I can't say enough. But I'm like described KB as a lack of policy is NOT what you have, which means that you have a COMPUTER policy on your device. It's just weird because I've never seen a COMPUTER policy like what you describe, but then of course I have not seen anyone.

So, I think (it's more than that, actually) is that you do indeed have a policy COMPUTER on your device that may well be the reason for the failure of the installation, you encounter.

If it's a working or otherwise associated with certain BES service device, then you need to talk to anyone who provides the BES service on your problem... they control what is the it policy.

If this is not a working device and/or you do not subscribe to any service of BES-level from anyone, then the conjecture is that you have received this camera as previously used, and the previous owner didn't properly clean the it policy, leaving you with a latent policy causing you these problems. To remedy this situation, you must make sure you have a full backup, according to the link in my sig auto on my posts. Then proceed you to this:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Once finished, your device will be like new again, with nothing on it... No. data, no added applications, etc. If you continue to restore the backup, do not forget that you DO NOT make a simple full restore... restore instead, only those databases that you need (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.) and more precisely to avoid any database that have nothing to do with BES, business, political, etc. If you restore that contains the it policy, it he will dutifully restore your BB and you will be right where you are now.

    Good luck!

After an update, I still propose that the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

You can not. Do not forget that you are using a BlackBerry smartphone and not a lower mark. If you can easily reset the password, so someone else could.

You maybe just bite the bullet on this one. I just hope you did a backup of the data with BlackBerry Desktop Software and/or BlackBerry Protect.

My pearl cannot receive new texts.

    It only gets new e-mail...

and unless I have register earlier texts (before this problem happened), all the rest are deleted...

also, my bbm conversations had all been cleaned...

I rebooted my phone from TONS of time... is there a way to reset the phone?

It comes from occurring as you face constraints of memory in your device. The low memory manager (LMM) is activated automatically when the flash available on the BlackBerry smartphone memory decreases less than 400 KB. Flash memory is used to store such as Messages, calendar, Contacts, tasks, Notepad BlackBerry smartphone applications and third-party applications.

    Perform the following steps-

    1. Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30 sec.
    2. Check the amount of memory is free in your device to Options -> status -> free memory. To view all aspects of database go to Option -> status -> click on the Menu button and then select the database size
    3. Remove the less frequently used application. To remove go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> highlight the application you want to delete-> click Menu , and then select Remove
    4. If you stored your image in the memory of the device to move them to your media card

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS outgoing sometimes fails, and outgoing telephone calls sometimes fail, too.

I bought my "BOLD" a few days ago. The first, receiver & sending SMS are OK. But soon the SMS transmission becomes a problem: it fails and the message is assigned an icon of the clock ("pending"). I can't return it. Then someone told me to "reboot" the device (update turned off, remove the battery and put it in again). It works, and I can send SMS "on hold". But it happens almost every day, while I have to restart the device almost every day, too.

Then, yesterday, I tried to call someone. There was no answer. I tried to call my house, also unanswered. I restart the unit, and the problem has been resolved. to perform a call was OK. So far, it was the only time that I had a hard time making a call.

There is no problem with incoming SMS and incoming calls. I have not yet activated my Blackberry Internet Service.

Could someone help me if there is a way to fix the SMS problem once and for all? Thanks for your advice. Hudoyo

  • BlackBerry Smartphone 8330 keyboard lock

    Hello

I have a Curve 8330.  During the holidays, I received a phone call, when I tried to answer the BB would have not answered any of the keys.  It seems to be completely locked, none of the function keys, the phone or trackball keys no matter what.  As I mentioned, it comes to start it for a while where he had been inactive for a few days, as I tried to answer an incoming call, it was locked.

Is there a software fix that can be done to solve this problem, or is this a hardware problem?

Also, if I go back, is there a way to wipe the 8330 with on being able to access the Options menu or enter any input from the keyboard or the track ball?

    Thanks in advance!

    Real

First try just a simple reboot:

With the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

If the problem persists, post it here, please.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones 8830 remove key brings up menu sending

When you type an e-mail, if I hit the delete key to delete a character, a menu appears prompting me to send, save, or see the full Menu.  Send is highlighted on the menu... so if I hit the delete key again, the message sends.  This makes the deletion of a character string or text very difficult.  Any ideas on what causes the menu to appear?

    Hello

    There are two possibilities:

    (1) you press the wrong key - if you hit the button to the right of the trackball, you hit the 'BACK' / 'ESCAPE' key - it is not a back key.   This key is used to close the screen or the current menu and go to the previous screen, or to exit the current screen, which is what you do.   The correct BACKSPACE is the small button at the end of the rightmost in the midline of keyboard (line 'ASDFGHJKL').  It is the key which has "DEL" in small letters.

    (2) you have a faulty BlackBerry.  By pressing "DEL" by writing an e-mail, causing this abnormal behavior, is not normal.  Return to the store/carrier for a replacement BlackBerry.   Demonstrate the problem and they will agree that it is defective.

  • Remote access to Blackberry blackBerry Smartphones (EDIT: keyboard or difficulty)

The buttons on my blackberry curve no longer work, so I can't enter my password or access my phone at all. I tried LogMeIn, but it seems that you must be able to use your phone to get him in place.

Is anyway I can access my phone via my computer?

    Thank you.

Edited to add - I broke the keyboard with spray cleaner all by cleaning my keys I think that, even if it was a very small amount and quickly wiped. I don't regret doing backwards...

I have no driver of screws or anything. I saw some videos on youtube cleaning behind your keys to any blackberry apparently, but it was not the same model as the (curved) mines, and I have no idea how to disassemble my black Berry to clean.  A step by step to do this with a blackberry curve would be great.  Thank you.

Does make sense. Does that include being connected via USB to a computer?

There is no BB tool (or any other 3rd party I know) for remote in this way. And even if there were, the answer is probably yes. BBs are available safer mobile devices... we have to live with some restrictions to take advantage of this security.

You may, however, be able to at least make a good backup of your data... depending on your situation, this may or may not work, but you can give it a try at least. You can find complete instructions via the link in my sig auto on this post.
