  Hello

  I just got a problem today on my laptop HP Envy product number = F7P58PA. It was working fine until last night.

  It has windows 8.1 on it and maybe a few updates are installed during the night (I don't know too much about).

  The problem is that when I connect to windows by providing my PIN, the splash screen does not appear. its all just white with cursor showing only.

  ALT-CTRL-DEL gives the Task Manager and I can run internet explorer via Task Manager, run the command, but splash screen remains empty.

  I did the battery, memory, tests etc and nothing has solved the problem.

  Any ideas how to fix?

  Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

  This issue would have occurred because of many things including the recent software updates, virus/malware, corrupted user account profile. To remedy, try this:

  1 Please, shut down the computer using the power button

  2. turn on.

  This should open a HP Boot Menu that can resemble the following

  

  3. choose F11 on the keyboard to open the system recovery options.

  I don't know what the problem is here, but you can try to Win8 will stop completely and check the repair options. Try again with the system restore and roll back the OS a few days back. Maybe this will help.

  I found an old monitor in the confines of my attic, hooked up to the laptop and booted up. Alto! I had a visible desktop. After a time, a message popped up indicating the need for a reboot. Not a cold, hard starting. A REBOOT! There are 10 Windows updates that should be installed, and they could only be installed on a restart. (This is the part I'm missing because I couldn't see it on a blank screen).

  I clicked on "Restart now" on the message and let it go. (It took a bit of time to install updates)

  I have something of a nightmare with my desktop computer running Windows 8 x 64.

  I did a bit of cleaning, unplug all cables, etc. and then reconnected everything later.

  Since then, I've known the following questions: -.

  After starting and going through the connection, I am faced with a black screen.  The monitor turns on, but there is no pointer.  However, if I clicked at random, it would open a Windows App out of the splash screen, which would then become visible.  If I moved the mouse to the bottom left, to get the splash screen, he would immediately go black screen on me.  He seemed to be refusing to display the splash screen.

  With "display" black screen, I found I could get the Task Manager (Ctrl, Alt, Del) upward and there could access the desktop.  It would then execute as usual, but if I let it go into hibernation or even just having the power of the screen down, it would be black screen again, and I have to use the 'trick' Task Manager to retrieve the desktop computer.

  Sometimes, using the Manager tasks does not always, because he'll sweep between the black screen and the desktop, alternating every 5-6 seconds.  I found through the process from the Task Manager, it stops doing this.

  Now, I did a Windows 8 regenerate, without any change in the problems.  I made sure the AMD drivers have been completely updated (they were) and also physically checked all cables and cables are properly connected and the GPU / RAM etc are properly placed.

  There is no error message displayed at any time. I have also disabled Fast Boot, nothing helps.

  I examined a faulty monitor, but it worked fine for an hour or two at a time, until I got let go sleep or put into hibernation, and I'm at square one.  It would of course be a faulty GPU, or even a PSU failure, but I'm not convinced the symptoms are pointing to them.

  For me, the fact it does not display the Windows 8 start screen after that Login or Wake Up is important.  It makes me think that Windows may interfere with the display in some way?

  I can, if necessary, provide DXDIAG etc, and I "m hoping someone will have an idea of what goes wrong.  I have spent ages going through Google and others, but cannot find a solution to my problem.

  I have a small question about a drag and drop interaction in Captivate 8. Right now, it's together to continue to the next slide after three failures (with a failure caption) or to display a success message about success, then move to the next slide.   I recently covered 3.6 Air in Flash Builder 4.7.  My projects use stage3D via Starling.  The use of the 3.4 built SDK that is installed with FB 4.7, my projects, compile and run fine with the debug and release.  After that just overlap the SDK 3.6, the projects work very well in the Simulator and on Android, but when I run the projects on iOS, I get a blank screen.  I returned to the 3.4 SDK and my projects work very well on iOS.  But, I'd like to be able to have access to the features of 3.6, any suggestions would be very appreciated.

  (They have changed recently and are updated for Flash Builder 4.7)

  For step 4, all you have to do is create the folder empty tape - do not need to copy the other files with 4.7 and AIR SDK 3.6.

  After updating my computer this morning, the screen now becomes white after I connect. I looked around for finding bugs, but so far I can't make anything of them because my screen does not return to normal. I tried to put it to sleep, hit escape and using the Windows key on my keyboard but I get no response from either of them. CTRL + Alt + Delete displays the usual screen, but none of the available options help to solve the problem.

  Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.

  Please use F11, press it all right after the startup of the device. Press several times to ensure that you access the Recovery Manager.

  Then, when you're there, select the language in the first screen and then "troubleshooting." Then select advanced options. In this menu, select System Restore, to restore your system to a date before the show began.

  In case you have no restore points, in the section "Troubleshooting" menu, select "System Refresh", it reinstalls the system without erasing your data.

  In which case you can start in safe mode, try to search for a program called "SearchProtect" and if you find it, try to uninstall it.
