"Bleeding" colors during a resizing smart objects

Bit of a strange, that. In Photoshop CS6, whenever I create a dynamic object with the intention of resizing, whenever I reduce it, where a flat color collide with one another, it creates a really ugly "bleed" - kind of the same effect you get when you take a little picture and try to enlarge:

bleed.png

I zoomed in on this part to show how bad it looks. Especially on the upper part of the forearm, see how he got some kind of 'halo' white before the black outline? It now seems that I drew a slightly darker outline around all levels of shading, and it seems really bad, almost like a raised/carved effect.

Of course, it is not as noticeable when zoom you out, but this is. If it helps, I noticed the same thing happens when I just resize the image using "automatic bicubic", but when I select "bicubic / nothing else", the purge does not occur. Kind of makes the tool once incredibly useful dynamic object little pointless now.

This never happened with any other previous version of Photoshop which were dynamic objects and I barely got hands on CS6 a few days ago so if there is a preference/really obvious setting or something that I'm missing, please let me know

Thanks in advance x

Resizing of the smart object uses the method of interpolation image defined in preferences > General. The default value changed between CS5 and CS6, and many people don't like change.

CS5 has by default the bicubic.

CS6 is by default set to automatic bicubic. Auto translates Bicubic Sharper when reducing the pixel dimensions and bicubic smoother at the pixel dimensions increase. Bicubic Sarper tend to oversharpen and create ugly artifacts like the halo that is plagueing you.

Set preferences in CS6 to simple to make as CS5 bicubic.

CS6, free transform now also has an independent for interpolation control when pixelated layers are being targeted. He is set to bicubic automatic by default, so simple that bicubic value, too.

  • How to avoid the transparent background, white in smart object (psb) conversion when the image track high fidelity that we have the ability to ignore track of white up to 16 colors.

I have an image psd file in photoshop cc 2014 the layer background transparent. I wanted to convert to vector. The best option I've seen was converted first to a smart object in photoshop by layer-> Smart objects-> convert to smart object. then he exported a CPS. Then I opened the file in illustrator and applied image tracking tool, but the background transparent got converted to white but I had the option to skip white up to 16 trace of color. But in the case of Conversion of high fidelity, the option do not know white is not available, what do I do now?

After using the Trace of the Image and expand the result, just find a part that is filled with white and use Select > same > fill and just delete.

  • Resize a smart object keeping the aspect Gaussian blur?

Is there a way (that I'm missing) to resize a smart object that has a smart filter Gaussian blur while keeping the same aspect and without pixelation it first?

Lets say I am using a background for a product that needs to be blurred: ussualy I would convert it background (JPG image in most cases not too big) to a smart object, then apply a (smart) Gaussian blur in which case it should be more or less concentrated on the road.

The latter when the Image is completed, and if for some reason any (usually of customers complain about the size of the image), I need to resize the document, blur settings remain the same cause that it is much more blurred in this new size smaller than the size of the original image.

Is there no workaround solution (to keep editable) that I'm missing?

    Ty for any help.

If I understand your question. Once you have added the dynamic filter of the dynamic object that convert into a new smart object. So if you want to resample the picture blur will stay the same.

  • Done save for Web rasterize smart objects before it is resized?

    Photoshop CS5

    Windows XP

    Backstory: (feel free to jump)

I do the webcomics, and the common practice to work in a very large size (like the 4000 x 3500) and throughout the last step down to the size of your target (something about x 1024). Sometimes, we use things like concrete or paper textures textures to Stylize our work. Often, because we work in very large formats, we can not find the texture we want in a high enough resolution to cover the entire file. In this case, we convert the texture to a smart object, so no detail is destroyed and resize it until our large size.

    tl; dr:

    Question:

When I use Save For Web and Devices... on a file with a dynamic object more large scale, will it reduce the dynamic being rescaled version? Or it uses the original data in the smart object and resize it only once?

Yes, it has to rasterize at the resolution of the document.

It uses the same data as if you flattened the document and then saved.

  • Citing the free transform on the smart object place encompassing top left

I've got something weird going on in PS CC 2015. It runs on a computer Windows 10. I placed a psd file of a company in the active document logo. I shot it, scaled and added some layer styles. Then at some point I had to resize it again, so I called the free transform command, but now the framework encompassing loads in the upper left corner of the document. Any changes to one of the settings in the Panel Options F. T. causes the logo to disappear completely, even if I can go back to the default values. This occurs only after I added a mask to the layer. Without the mask, everything works fine - add the mask, and I get this oddity.

    No idea why?

  • Photoshop - artifacts on Vector Image smart object

    Hi people,

This is my first post. There may be a response to this somewhere on the forum already, but I can not just understand the search terms to use because the question is so specific.

I have an image that has been live traced in Illustrator, then placed in a Photoshop document. The photo was traced to the highest possible fidelity in order to maintain the good detail. It was traced from an image of 72 DPI in order to raise the quality of a print run of 300 ppi. The problem I have is with the anti-aliasing in the dough or the place function (it happens to be) in Photoshop. I copied the part of the vector image and moved the opposite side of the object, as it was necessary for the design and then grouped it upward with the main object. In the image below, I circled the part copied in red:

    RGPUe49.jpg

All sounds good in Illustrator, but when I paste or place it in Photoshop with active anti-aliasing, then a plethora of imperfections arise as wavy lines grey in passing a copy of the vector image, which I hope you will see below:

    YO8isvP.jpg

If it is difficult to distinguish, simply compare the flowers duplicated on top left of the image of the original on the right of the image.

If I turn off anti-aliasing at the image collage/placement, then these grey imperfections disappear, but the mix of colors and the edges of the leaves and flowers become jagged black background. To this end, I need to have the anti-aliasing feature enabled at the time of the image in Photoshop to maintain high image quality I'm after. The final image below shows what happens to the color of fusion when I do not use anti-aliasing:

    xv0DXfw.jpg

I hope someone can tell me what I'm missing here. The problem affects only the part a copy of the vector image. I guess this is where lies the answer, and so must be something that I have to change/do with the original in Illustrator vector so that it copies all information correctly; I don't know what it is that I need to change.

    Thanks in advance, people.

    Ben

Update: I managed to find a solution, even if I can't always work on what caused the problem in the first place.

The solution was to duplicate the vector smart object containing the flowers (circled in red in the first frame in OP) I duplicated originally from extended trace. I suspect it's just a quirk with anti-aliasing when you work with vectors in Photoshop. I can't be certain if.

  • How is changing Smart Objects function?

I resized one of my smart objects (which already isolated action at this particular file) but found that the same dynamic object in other files have also been affected. Change something? How all untie them? They are the same smart object that I placed in different files in different sizes.

It sounds like you using a linked smart object, old version of Photoshop only had the embedded objects.  You menu file > Place new version of Photoshop's file menu > Place incorporated and file menu > related site

  • Transform will not work on a smart object in Photoshop CC 2015

I can't to scale the smart object. I take the transformation handles and pull it where I want, but when I let go of the handle the transformation box disappears and the image returns to its original size. He will not keep the transformation.

It's been a while, but I know that I've done it before. A suggestion that I read was to rasterize the smart object. Who does not use the transformation, but it removes the ability to open the smart object and make adjustments in Camera Raw. When I'm compositing, I want to use the smart object to quickly set things like the color temperature.

    Anyone know the solution?

  • Linked smart objects nested within the smart object, not automatically update

I notice that if I have a smart object bound or smart, group with other layers in a new smart object feature updates of content updated the stops working and has to be done manually.

This would be the creation of a mobile application by saying where I need the same key throughout all my 10 files.

Say I have a button throughout several documents and would like to be able to easily change the color in all documents. I'd create an object bound and intelligent color sample. Then in my paper, I put this object linked above my shape of button and create a clipping mask. Then create a dynamic object out of these 2 layers.  I place this same button in all my documents. In my mind, I would always open the object bound and smart (color chart), change the color and it should be updated for the buttons in all of my open documents.

This is not updated in the document all. Need to go in the dynamic button object and update updated content.

If you create your pdf to 72 dpi, then this is where I think that your problem lies. You can it not output at 300 PPI? This way your result would be much better.

  • to change your smart object... help ~.

Hello guys ~ does anyone know how to do in the face of the 'copied layer (smart object) make the same change to the original layer (smart object)? " Well sorry for my bad English

example: when I draw a character that I used a lot to such layer as skin, cloths, hair, shoes, etc... for color (let's just say is a layer group has converted to smart object), then I make copy of this 'A layer group' (which is converted into a smart object) and change for the other copy (copy of Group A layer)... the problem is when I save me it Group A "layer" also changed... Well what I want is to change to the dynamic object 'copied' without the 'original dynamic object'... so help, please

  • Vector smart object inside another dynamic object with loss of quality suite scale

    Hello

I have 6 icons created in Illustrator and imported as vector smart objects.

Then, I select all 6 and create another object of Smart from there.

If I resized now this dynamic object, it loses it s quality, as if the icons are raster in the first place.

This is not what happened in PS CS5.

It s a bug or "novelty"?

You must realize that Photoshop makes pixels for the embedded object then when you resize the smart object layer it evolve as and layer rasterizes by interpolation not reduced with vector graphics. His work of the layers the way smart object. His is a very old thread on the topic

  • How to duplicate a smart object and then modify it, without affecting the original?

I have an element of vector illustrator that I am placed in a t-shirt mockup in photoshop. I have the provision essentially how I want, but I'm trying different color variations. I think that simply duplicate the initial placement and then change the color of the copy resulting, but this affects both the copy and the original. I looked into it a little further and found that I should try the option "replace contents" under smart objects, and that it would change the copy. Then I go back to illustrator, made a copy of the original vector and then the color change I had in mind and then saved as a separate document that I could use then by replacing the contents of the copy. However, still affects two smart objects!

I tried this like linked smart objects and smart objects shipped without success.

In the end, I just want to maintain the position of the original layer with the layer duplicated and edited. If you know a better way, please share!

Layer > Smart Object > new Smart Object by copy. It forks a new, independent so (cut and paste or duplicate maintains the link between them).

When you double-click the SO thumbnails in the layers panel, it opens the SO in the main application, in this case to have.

Do Save your changes (not save money, unless you want to distribute the SO in a separate file, normal).

  • RE: Camera Raw and smart objects

    Hello everyone.

    I have a question please.

Inside of the 8.1 camera raw workflow options, I checked the box to open in Photoshop as smart objects.

I noticed inside the Camera Raw, open the Image box to turn to, the open object box.  I clicked open, and he opened the Image as objects inside Photoshop the Smart.

If I make changes to the Image, and if I Double click on the smart object, it will open in Camera Raw again which is good.

I also noticed that if I make changes to the Image inside the Raw to the dynamic object camera after clicking Open Smart Objects I see the changes inside the Photoshop too.

But if I make the changes to the Image inside the Photoshop, and later I Double click on the Image, the Image opens inside the Camera Raw, without modification.

Here's my question: still The Smart object Image is a Raw Image?

    My next question is:

I don't know if I open a Raw Image Inside the Camera Raw and if I click on fact, the image is always a Raw Image, which is good, and if I click on Reset low, will reset back. If I change only the White Balance and click on go back the Camera Raw and I chose as shot, the Image goes back to the Original Raw file.

But if I do other changes such as exposure, any color change and click on I did can never return to the original...

Last month I was in collaboration with the Lightroom and I noticed if I open a raw image inside the Lightroom and modifications to make the Image, any time I can click on reset and the Raw image dates back to its origin.

I don't think that we can do this with Camera Raw can us?

Claire removes the settings in camera raw completely. You will not see the setting on the thumbnail icon in Bridge

By default Camera Raw will display the icon and double click on the thumbnail will always open in Camera Raw with the default settings.  The default value is "As Shot", that's why you see no difference. It is when you select a default Custom you want. He will stay with the Camera Raw file.

See this article by Julienne Kost.

    http://blogs.Adobe.com/jkost/2009/10/setting_new_camera_raw_default.html

Another difference is with JPEGs. Open a JPEG in ACR, making an adjustment, click 'done '.  Select 'Default Camera Raw' and it will always open in ACR instead of Photoshop.  Select 'Clear' and it's a normal jpeg which is still open in Photoshop.

Basically it's all I know, I normally don't use ACR much.
