Block foires diagrams: Win 7 or 1012 LabVIEW?

Hi, world-

We just got a new computer for the laboratory here, and I did install LabVIEW 2012 until after the installation of the new machine.  All our computers have been running XP until the arrival of a new; It runs Windows 7, and it now has LabVIEW loaded 2012.

The first time I opened a VI and looked at his chart of block on the new computer, I was floored by ugly how it looked.  Controls, constants and wereoverlapping icons were out of alignment, font sizes had changed and, in general, the complete diagram was a mess.  I have even if it is just could have been this one, so I opened to others and they look all as they have been set up by a 5 - year-old.  (No, I can't drink at work.)

What is a 'Windows 7' feature or something again with LabVIEW 2012?  I have not had the opportunity to install or work with 2012 on the rest XP computer, so I can't make comparisons here yet.

I now have a written SET of screws, and the thought of having to redo all so that they are legible gives them me the wrong kind of palpitations.  Is it possible to fix it without obstinate in and all realign, etc., do it manually?

Thank you 1 million for your time...

Mark

It is windows 7 that caused the problem.  Default system fonts are different and larger.

See this thread which also has links to several other threads.  Why do I get different results for the same resolution but different Windows, Windows 7 and XP boxes...

Basically, if you add some lines to your file LabVIEW.ini, it can explicitly set the application system and policies of dialogue that LabVIEW uses to match with the police of WinXP and size, rather than the policies defined by the appearance of system settings Windows.

  • Block off diagram

I'm working on a LabVIEW project for a probe station. The person who built the program already gone, and I'm learning about the structure of his project. In each of the category under VI folder, I found a few void as XX_Properties.vi VI. However, it is related to some variables. Also, if I choose the hierarchy view, I am unable to find that the vi without any block diagram is actually associated with a few other subVIs. I'm confused. How a VI without a diagram can associate another VI? Please notify. Thank you very much!

This isn't a VI, but a global variable.

  • Fixing bad block on the Win 2008 Server backup volume

Since win 2008 backups mount the volume but do not assign a drive letter to the backup volumes, what is the best way to check for bad blocks on a backup volume? Is there a special way to run chkdsk? Or I have to remove it from the backup pool, format, assign a drive letter, run chkdsk and then try to add it to the pool?

  • Move from LabVIEW FPGA block of ram address to node CLIP?

    Hello

I need to pass an index memory RAM of LabVIEW FPGA block to a CLIP node to the node CLIP to have access to the data in the BRAM.  The node of the ELEMENT contains an IP address that we developed and the IP address is the use of Xilinx BRAM driver to access data.  I guess that we need to move the physical address of the BRAM to the ELEMENT node.

Is this possible? If so, how? If this is not the case, what would be an alternative?

    Thank you

    Michel

If I understand you correctly, Yes, you should be able to use the memory block of the Xilinx pallet Builder in LabVIEW FPGA and in the loop of the single Cycle, connect the ports of this block signals CLIP exposed by the IP of your colleague. You may need to tweak/adapt some of the signals slightly to the LabVIEW data flow.

  • Block of Win 7 Internet while allowing a Linux VM to use the net

Hi, is it possible?  I tried the opposite, LinuxMint boot, then a VM Win7, which works fine internet blocking from the Win VM Internet form, but work a bit slow Windows for my Image processing programs.

Thus returned to a boot of Win 7 64 and ideally want to be able to use the Linux VM (9) to surf the net, while blocking the windows to be connected on.

Thanks in advance, Ian in Oz.

If the Virtual Machine is configured to use Bridged Networking, then you can stop the host itself to have an Internet/network connectivity by deselecting everything except VMware Bridge Protocol in the reception of the network adapter properties.  Or at least uncheck, Client of Microsoft Networks, file and print sharing for Microsoft Networks, Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

  • How LabVIEW calculates the Euler Angles of the Direction cosine matrix?

I am looking to clean my block diagram by converting mathematical functions LabVIEW Mathscript; However, I can't know exactly what convention of rotation is used to calculate the Direction cosine matrix Euler angles. Any ideas?

Here is what I use now (see below)... the angle phi is the only one (of three angles) not correct as mathematical LabVIEW functions. I've also attached the .vi illustrating the calculation in two ways.

% calculate the angles of Euler of DCM

    % "DCM" is a 3 x 3 direction cosine matrix

    Phi = atan ((DCM (2,3)) / (DCM (3.3)));

    Theta = acos (DCM (3.3));

    lb/po2 = atan2 (DCM (1,3), DCM (2,3));

  • VSS of LabVIEW integration issue

    Hello

I'm trying to simulate jointly VSS and Labview by running a simple example of the AWRDE example file. I get the error message that I need license of integration (see the attached screenshot) in order to use the LabVIEW block in VSS. I'm under LabVIEW 2013 Professional Edition and have the next version of AWR:

    10.02R build 5983 Rev (78833). I have Windows 7 on my computer.

Can someone please tell me what is license integration and how to get it. We have the license for LabVIEW, as well as software AWRDE. Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Kathar

Hi, Kathar, the best way to fix this is to upgrade to AWRDE v11.01 (available from the download link at www.awrcorp.com).

  • LabVIEW account crashes with a Windows user but not another

I am facing the following problem:

When my colleague is connected with her Windows user account and start my main VI (the startup process is long enough, because many LVOOP classes are instantiated dynamically) LabVIEW, LabVIEW block eventually (that is, the process of LabVIEW just end itself witout new order). The log file down LV (see attached file for more details) contains the following interesting line:

c:\builds\penguin\labview\branches\2010\dev\source\linker\HeapLinker.cpp(372): DWarn: double object (0x1e07444c) in 1229150280 Ref for [LinkIdentity 'XSettings.xctl' [workstation]

XSettings.xctl is an XControl I did, which is part of a façade of a class LVOOP method which is loaded dynamically into a school of my main VI.

Oddly enough, this problem will NOT occur when I'm connected with my own Windows user account.

Details: LV2010 SP1 32-bit; 64-bit Windows; We have all two administrator accounts.

Does anyone have a tip how this problem could be solved?

Mass of compilation of the affected class LVOOP solved the problem.

  • How to measure my each operating time blocks

    Hi, guys

I will measure my each main blocks, duration, are totally five large blocks in my final VI, the last four of them were in a while loop

    Thank you

What exactly do you mean by "block"?  Is this a Subvi, primitive LabVIEW, a piece of LabVIEW code?

You can use several functions of number of cycles.  If you put your code in a flat sequence structure with Tick account in settings in the meantime, you can subtract the values from each other and to relative time of each piece of code.

Why are you worried about the execution time?  Problems of particular clock?  Most of the LabVIEW primitives will run so fast, you'll probably see no or very little change in the number of cycles before and after them.

Here is an example to show how measuring the execution time for a section of code.

What modbus library are you using? DSC or VISA? You have the runtimes for what you use.

  • Strip tip that displays the coordinates while moving (delta) and size when resizing went

I've been using LabVIEW since version 3.  I used to use it full time, but only part-time and the.

I have a Win XP Professional computer running LabVIEW 7Express, and I have a Win 7 Home Premium computer running Labview 2013.

I have always used and relied on small pop - up (Advanced band, ToolTips) which indicates the coordinates when you move an object on the screen: delta 4, 19 for example; and shows the new size when resizing: 4, 19 for example.  It works my Win XP Professional LabVIEW 7Express machine but NOT on my Win 7 Home Premium LabVIEW 2013 machine (and I need to work on this machine).

I think there are 3 places to search for:

    1) LabVIEW, tools, Options, block: see the tip terminal strips - "this option is enabled on both machines.

    (2) LabVIEW.ini - "I can find similar entries on both machines.

    3) strips of MS Windows Advanced treatment - "not sure about it, Win 7 Home Premium is not easy to use with this and web sites I've found seem to point to key in regedit which seem not to be there.

    Thanks for any help!

    Nevermind, I figured it.

My Win 7 machine is dual-boot.  I have a SSD LabVIEW 2013, on the other hand I have LabVIEW 2012.  I looked on the side of 2012.  I noticed that there are 3 places that you can treat with strips of tip under LabVIEW Options: front panel, block diagram AND UNDER environment.  Who has been disabled on my side LabVIEW 2013.  I fixed it.

I think I have disabled all 3 places when I was trying to stop one of the most annoying things in LabVIEW.  When interacting with case and sequence stacked Structures, that terrible pop-up ads (Advanced band) would appear and cover the value of the Structures or Structures of stacked sequence case who I was interacting with blocking my view.

  • HAVE multiple AO-synchronization-2 multiple while loops

    Hi all

I want to characterize my RF circuit by using an additional narcotics control and map PXI-6229. I wrote a simple VI in Labview, which is almost similar to the example, multiple-HAVE-AO-synchronization, seen in LABVIEW. According to my VI, 4 analog outputs with different offsets dc, amplitudes and phase values must be generated to my RF circuit and 2 analog inputs must be acquired by this circuit simultaneously and continuously. But the problem with my VI is that I try to observe two diagrams at the same time to see the changes in signals generated and acquired. However, I don't see the two signals simultaneously. The second while loop, which belongs to the acquisition of analog signals, does not start while the first loop generates analog signals continuously. How can I synchronize these two while loops in order to observe the two parties in the diagrams?

    I have attached my VI.

    Thanks in advance.

    T. Eray

    Hi Eray,

I will be brief and I'll keep it simple. If I understand correctly, you have trouble with the data stream in LabVIEW. When you work in LabVIEW, you must understand the order in which the blocks (functions/nodes/structers) are run in LabVIEW - stream. Each block can be executed just at the moment where there values on each entry. This means that if the 2 blocks are connected with a wire, the 2nd block waits until the first ends its execution.

In your case, that means, this 2nd loop does not execute before the first loop (with the DAQ Assistant) ends its execution, because the son comes from the inside of the first loop, then they go to some DAQmx features and then DAQmx features they go to the 2nd loop.

In principle, what you could do is to put the content of the first loop, where you prepare the signal generated in the 2nd loop. Good course without the DAQ Assistant. Instead, you can use DAQmx writing in the 2nd loop.

    Kind regards

  • Report in simple text format

Hi everyone, I am trying to use the report as simple text, to create an Excel file, I want to print a table, can someone explain to me how do?

I looked again at your message noticed and original that you use a VI Express (Build Table2) that I do not recognize and cannot find on my Palette of function.  You have included also a photo, instead of a real VI (or a piece of a VI, a "excerpt") that I could open in LabVIEW and examine for myself.  In particular, I can't say what is in the Red wire thick Table to the Registro general - I thought it was simply a 2D channels table.

Here's the code that's going to take a table of strings and output in a table 2D 2D in Excel.  You will notice that it is exactly as I mentioned in my previous post.

Either way, it is a snippet.  If you have LabVIEW 2014, open a new VI, go in the block diagram, then drag the image, above, on the block where, NOR magic diagram, it will turn into LabVIEW code that you can run.  Save (and name) of the VI, then run it - it'll be Report.xlsx demo in the same folder that you used to save the VI and it will contain the contents of the table 3-for-4 above.

  • Insert a disc in the drive \Device\Harddisk3\DR3?

have a vi with sub about 20 screws in his .llb that makes a fair bit of the interaction of the data base and data acquisition.

When it comes to 'entries preparation' sub vi in State "expt prep", if she is not simply close labview entirely, it gives 10 'Please insert a disc into the drive \Device\Harddisk3\DR3' errors in a row, then ends.  in fact some of the 10 are asking Harddisk4\DR4, but I still don't know what he's talking about.

very mysterious, that is if I delete as void / vi and replace it with artificial constants, it does the same thing.  I use breakpoints, step over and highlight the execution and cannot see what is causing the error, it's like there is a short circuit in the wiring itself (!).

was blocked for a day now.  thoughts?  tried to cut and paste the entire block diagram in a soft vi, labview opening/closing, restart, reinstall LV (2011 sp1) and daqmx 9.5.1 no effect.

    code attached

new data - copy & paste the contents of the sub-vis & vi new screw do not affect not error, gutting all error DAQ hardware program priest DOES.  Board of Directors is a NI PCIe 6363.

  • CAN-bus interface on RIO Eval Board

I am trying to use the interface on the assessment board sbRIO CAN. I installed the driver from RIO 101 shipped package, and the "Embeded CAN for sbRIO" functions are now on the range of functions. However when I place a CAN function on the block diagram, a popup appears, and Labview trying to locate a dll called rioembeddedlvapi.dll without success. It is possible to say "Ignore the point" and he gives up and puts the item on the block diagram.  Anyone know what is happening here, and whether or not it can just be ignored?  Thank you

I was able to solve the problem on the RIO evaluation board to remove and reinstall the embedded RIO CAN package. Something must have been corrupted.
