Block off diagram

I'm working on a LabVIEW project for a probe station. The person who built the program already gone, and I'm learning about the structure of his project. In each of the category under VI folder, I found a few void as XX_Properties.vi VI. However, it is related to some variables. Also, if I choose the hierarchy view, I am unable to find that the vi without any block diagram is actually associated with a few other subVIs. I'm confused. How a VI without a diagram can associate another VI? Please notify. Thank you very much!

Best,

Betty

This isn't a VI, but a global variable.

  • Block foires diagrams: Win 7 or 1012 LabVIEW?

    Hi, world-

We just got a new computer for the laboratory here, and I did install LabVIEW 2012 until after the installation of the new machine.  All our computers have been running XP until the arrival of a new; It runs Windows 7, and it now has LabVIEW loaded 2012.

The first time I opened a VI and looked at his chart of block on the new computer, I was floored by ugly how it looked.  Controls, constants and wereoverlapping icons were out of alignment, font sizes had changed and, in general, the complete diagram was a mess.  I have even if it is just could have been this one, so I opened to others and they look all as they have been set up by a 5 - year-old.  (No, I can't drink at work.)

What is a 'Windows 7' feature or something again with LabVIEW 2012?  I have not had the opportunity to install or work with 2012 on the rest XP computer, so I can't make comparisons here yet.

I now have a written SET of screws, and the thought of having to redo all so that they are legible gives them me the wrong kind of palpitations.  Is it possible to fix it without obstinate in and all realign, etc., do it manually?

Thank you 1 million for your time...

    Mark

It is windows 7 that caused the problem.  Default system fonts are different and larger.

See this thread which also has links to several other threads.  Why do I get different results for the same resolution but different Windows, Windows 7 and XP boxes...

Basically, if you add some lines to your file LabVIEW.ini, it can explicitly set the application system and policies of dialogue that LabVIEW uses to match with the police of WinXP and size, rather than the policies defined by the appearance of system settings Windows.

  • Slate 8 Pro guard blocking turned off during playback

My HP (slate 8 - Pro) table that keeps blocking off after a few minutes even if sleep is set to 30 minutes. After a few minutes it just close the page and goes back to the home screen.  Received from the centre of Service of Calexico in lieu of my original Tablet.  I get no error message before he stops and outside apps have not made any changes. Any ideas what the problem might be?

    Hey @gsparky ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that your Tablet HP Slate Pro 8 is automatically shut down.

Can you please clarify if the slate is to be completely turned off (to hold the power button to wake it up) or if the application closes (taking you to the home screen)?

That you happens to all applications or is it only in a particular application?

Try to clear the cache on the Tablet, there may be damage to the data stored in one of the applications or OS causing accidents. To do this, go to settings > storage > cached data. Touch it should give you the option to clear all the cache.

Please clarify the question or let me know if that helps.

  • Firefox refuses to stop the blocking of pop-up windows - up, even with added exceptions and blocker completely disabled.

I work in a facility that uses a corporate intranet to access our database. The database uses windows pop up widely important information. Problem is that Firefox absolutely will NOT stop block popup windows no matter what I try. At first I added our database server to the list of exceptions. It worked for a while, but soon after resumption of the important pop-up blocking. I then completely disabled the blocking of popup windows (options > > content > > unchecked "block popup windows"). It did not work until I closed and reopened Firefox. A week later (today!), Firefox takes over again blocking the pop-up windows. I double checked my settings to confirm that Firefox still claims to have the popup blocker off.
At this point, I am at a loss on how to proceed. I looked at other issues similar and my frustration (and certainly their even more), individuals requesting repeatedly told them to turn off the blocker of popups even after explaining that they already have. Help would be very appreciated.

Thanks for the description of the Firefox Safe Mode. I just thought that Safe Mode is a condition under which we could launch Windows XP in a minimal operating system by starting a startup sequence, hold down the F8 key and effectively manage the prrams troubleshooting and maintenance for Windows. It seems that the Windows XP of Firefox version could run not affected by a virus, a worm or other malware, and ge fixed.

Please try this Linux distribution. They are many, and I'm a fan.

  • Satellite P100-478 - blocking down, temperature problem

    Hello world

There is a year and a month, I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite P100-478.

    Everything worked fine until now.
Now, I have some problems of temperature.

I tried to play (I know 7300 go are not the best for this), and I checked the temperature with Intel Thermal Analysis Tool (TAT).

    Before playing:
    Core 1 ~ 60
    Core 2 ~ 60
    Temp 33 ACPI thermal zone

    While playing:
    Core 1 ~ 85
    Core 2 ~ 85
    Thermal Zone temp ACPI 33

So I don't know why he died.

I restarted the pc, without delay:
    Core 1 ~ 74
    Core 2 ~ 75
Thermal Zone temp ACPI 70 (what the hell?)

If I play, if I work (programming), even install windows live messenger yesterday results in a disabling...
I restored my computer with the CD in my computer Windows Vista is clear...

Because the security of the computer is over (since 1 month, geez), I changed the radiator composed (hope this is the correct English), but unfortunately this isn't helping.

The temperature of ACPI, from 30 to 70 after the restart thing it's something strange...

    Anyone have any idea?

    Best regards, Dimitri.

Unless you have a software problem (take a look at the Windows process monitor to see if CPU 100% active) it is likely that powder is blocking off the coast of radiators.

I had problems with a Toshiba Satellite 30-135. Fans were running at full speed. Temperature has quickly reached the maximum and the closed laptop. I put the laptop upside down on a table to see the fans and there is powder inside fans, but nothing spectacular. Then I blew my mouth through the gates where the air goes out of the laptop, the copper radiator is behind the gates - * blow air only please *!) : a lot of Red-gray powder came out in a big cloud. To restart the laptop ran silently and never stops again.

Since then, I use a spray of cleaning the dry air from time to time to blow gently through the gates, and I have more problems.

Unfortumately I have not used the mobile me and the user got angry and started the laptop several times during the incident, so that the display being damaged: two weeks after the incident, a vertical white line have signed the death of display.

    So be careful!

    (a) Yes, there are several current switch to the new "buffer".
54K cr is so normal based on this point. But why oracle should create a cr which is not useful. 54 k blocks protected by a latch of cbc will have poor performance, but it seems that oracle needs that search the xcur block which is the first block of these 54 k, so we won't see not the cbc latch wait on the latch pretect the segment header. I don't know what is the purpose of them. If these cr will be used somewhere, it will hurt not performance under oracle will seach up to 54 k block while holding the latch of the CBC.

I didn't say it was 'normal' - I just pointed out that your system was probably not createmore copies of CR. I think we can assume that there is a point to the way that Oracle leaves a block of trail of the CR - but that the piece of code that you hit individual fails to apply the usual restriction on the track of CR. Given your degree of concurrency, I doubt if Oracle might need more about 90 kept copies (one for each concurrent process).

    (b) no comments

My point (b) was there to suggest that what you see should be classified as a defect in the code.

    (c) Yes, in the test environment, the buffer is large (18 G), the table is small (couple of GB)

In earlier versions of Oracle, I was able to break the limit of maxcr_dba whenever I wanted to - and one of the things to 'help' the appearance of the problem should run (the equivalent of), "alter system RAS buffer_cache" + so that I got a lot of buffers marked as 'free '. In may, to a certain extent, to know why you managed to get so many clones of CR.

    (d) no bump of HWM table also got deleted frequently, the production dashboard freelist had about 500 M.

Your test shows no deletions, well that I wondered why you had about 200 000 blocks under high water with about 100,000 on the freelist. I had assumed that you hit another bug which lost blocks. (One of the features of the use of boring long is that it is very easy to knock several blocks off the coast of the freelist by attempting to insert a long line in a block that has been on the freelist after a delete).

I did not see anything in your create table statement that suggest he had created for the 2.5 GB which suggests the segment header dump, incidentally.

freelist group helps a lot in my test using the table below, a question is why do we need of "count of the freelist and freelist groups County co-first?

    create table test_flist_g (a long raw) storage (freelists 1 FREELIST GROUPS 59);

Freelist groups help because the segment header is (in part) a group block no quotas. By creating several groups not freelist, you pass this role in several other blocks. With a good distribution of the no contingency group blocks, each block will have a much smaller number of concurrent processes, use it to manage the workspace. Simultaneous modification of the blocks is a necessary cause of multiple copies generated: that's why the suggestion helped. It is also possible that you are using a different code path - which is may be a code path that was corrected in order to limit copies of CR.

Both parameters must be first between them because your session selects what freelist group and what freelist in block group not limited using the same algorithm of turnstile on the process id. If a parameter is one multiple of the other, it is relatively easy to find in a large batch of the consecutive process id you end by using only a subset of the freelists.

By the way - 90 concurrenct process, you do not want to use SAMS (automatic segment space management) because it is actually the equivalent of running with 16 freelist, and even if it limits the effect of cloning, it can still result in competing on the bitmap blocks. Switchis freelist groups (probably) is your best bet.

  • Home page of Firefox / my bottom toolbar

Home page of Firefox seems bigger and fills the entire screen, blocking my tool bar (clock, icons, etc.). It blocks off the upper part of the screen, but when I make the mouse upward, the minimize, close and reduce the buttons appear. Frankly, it's a pain.

This does not happen when I open Office programs then it seems to be linked to the new version of Firefox.

Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Ctrl + Shift + F).

If you are in full screen view then hover over with the mouse upward to make the bar appear Navigation and tab bar.

You can click the maximize button in the upper right to leave the mode full screen or empty space of a right-click on a toolbar and use "exit full screen" or press F11.

  • Subvi execution and closing

    Hi all

I am currently working on a project using LV7.1 that invloves the use of multiples of the Subvi related to the VI more high level, acting as a main menu screen. However, I run into a spot of bother when you try to close a block/Panel diagram Subvi especially when are no longer needed and to return to the highest level VI without stopping the program completely.

I have developed a method to achieve this goal within the Subvi by plugging a true constant of in a case of a state machine I use, to the conditional terminal outside of the case (but in the while loop). This seems to work ok, but sometimes it can cause the Subvi to freeze so that no the PF button can be pressed. Are there other ways to achieve this same result without making too complicated (as I am a pretty inexperienced programmer in comparison to some of you, people here)?

I've set the FP to "show when it is called ' and 'close later' by using the control panel of the node Subvi on the highest level VI and"run the opening"using vi properties panel.

If my inexperience here leads to bad practice that is causing it works less well?

I have attached a few screenshots of my program in the word doc, with a description of what I'm actually trying to achieve.

    I hope you can help!

    Kind regards

So I have a strange and it is difficult to isolate the problem.  Initially, I had a support project size, with 8 players age or so using events user to communicate between modules.  I had several user interface elements that can spawn brat screw for insertion in sub-panels or float and is not.  Each time, I ran my main VI and then when to stop LabVIEW pop - up would be a dialog box indicating

"Quitting smoking will stop running all the screws", with an option to exit or cancel.  I thought it was weird because none of my screws were still ongoing enforcement.  So I thought that maybe an of my asynchronous process began and for some reason any missed quite command.  So I started disabling some parts of my code for this error to go away.  It was a little long because I had to completely quit LabVIEW, launch it, open the project, disable something, run the VI, then stop it (through the cleaning process) then leave LabVIEW to see if said dialog box still ran a few screws.

After stripping the VI over I me finally at a place where my main VI was just a giant off diagram structure, without code in the active code, only in the case of people with disabilities.  Running this always caused LabVIEW VI to think a VI was running, and that smoking LabVIEW would he abandoned.

I tried to copy the comics for a new VI, but he also had the same behavior.  If I deleted the diagram (and then all the code in it) dialog resignation wouldn't be here.  I tried to force a re - compile of the VI of hand, and who had inconclusive results.  The VI I copied the comics to quit without the dialog box, but the main original has not.  I'm having a real hard time isolating and I can just re - create the VI from scratch in the hope, as he goes.  Has anyone see something like this where you know, no screws aren't running, but the tobacco cessation invites you to stop?  Sorry I do not post something easier, due to the complexity, dependencies and inconsistencies in all of this.

    EDIT: Sorry I forgot LabVIEW 2015 32-bit Windows 7 x 64

Another developer here asked me about the same problem earlier this week.

I don't think that he figured it out but I recommend go to the hierarchy screen VI then to do a ctrl - a to display all the screws that can give you a clue.

Otherwise I can meditate only if there is a X-Control involved.

    Made with my thoughts.

Please let me know if figure you it out.

  • Enum even in several places

    1. attached is state machine implementation example in Chapter 8 of the kernel 1, page 8-7. 2. the question is: how to create same enum to the location of mutiple. As in the present case have two States: Start & configuration. When I create enum on the façade, it will appear on the diagram of bloack as 'Start', but where the structure is another instance where enum shows 'configuration' 3. How it's done? 4 can we do as if in the future I have change the name 'Start' in the case of "Sit". It would automatically change to all the places in current VI.

I found the way. Stupid mistake, I think in the range of function-> select an option VI is VI only, not for the control or libs.

    1. on the front panel-> control-> place an enum

    2. click right enum & make typedef.

    3. right click again, and then open tyepdef.

    4. now, change it & add values to it.

    5. save & close it as an extension of ctrl. \

    6. the block-> functions diagram-> select a VI.

    7. place the enum.
