  Ce_que I would do, is to have an object style that will assign to a frame 1) dressing, 2) vertical center and 3) put the Page Blank words unless I have to type them in each time. I already have the object style set for the scarf, the alignment and the paragraph to the text style. Is a way - maybe with a script or a variable, or a simpler way - that this could be done automatically? I hope I'm being clear.

  I don't know if it's important for this question, but I use InDesign CC (later) on a Windows 7 desktop PC.

  What happened just apply a master page to all the empty pages (looks like that's what you're talking about)? On the master page includes an image with the text you want.

• Cannot group the text block with the linked object? (Advice, please!)

  6 inDesign doesn't let me a block of text with a related group object. (The block of text is aligned with the top of the object and the object is a placed .psd file).

  Perhaps my problem comes from the fact that ID doesn't let me choose both at the same time? It's one or the other, and the program refuses to do both. I inherited this program and the file I'm working on, in my work and I got a learning curve (frustration). It is perhaps an obvious question, because my skills are still pretty rough.

  Anyway, InDesign gurus... Please help! I've been working this for more than an hour, and it drives me crazy!

  Looks like the image is an anchored object. It's the only thing I can think of would select several items.

• Overset text when you create a block of text to another object

  I apologize if this has been answered in other discussions, but the search function does not work now. I am trying to create a block of text on top a .pdf bound. I can create the block of text, but as soon as I enter the text, I get the text marker in excess on the frame, despite the fact that the frame is big enough to accommodate the text that I entered. This happens if I simply enter a single period.

  If I click on "mount the frame to the content" he develops vertically the text block until it is large enough to have a part that leaves at the edge of the linked .pdf below, and the text that I entered appears here. Of course, now, I have a block of text that is 20 times bigger that I need, and I still have no text in the position where it is needed.

  You probably dressing applied on the structure with the PDF file. Either remove it, or open the options of text block for your frame on top and check the box to ignore the dressing.

  Hi all

  I found each (anchored to the current text) 'invisible' block with a specific 'AA' object style and change its height SO its offset is > 180 (depending on the origin 0,0 page by default).

  This seems to be simple but, still, who doesn't!

  Replace this:

  myFound.geometricBounds

  with this:

  You must then change the geometricBounds and apply it to the object:

• I can auto adjust all the blocks of text with overset text?

  Due to several factors (change computers, versions of different fonts, etc.), I had to change most of the fonts in my text-heavy document.

  There are a lot of charts and tables in this 125-page document, and now most of all text frames have overset text.

  The new font is in fact identical to the previous one, however, there are a few differences that are causing it take more text frames. I tried to adjust the line spacing in my character and paragraph styles, but these do not seem to effect.

  Is there a way to automatically adjust all frames in excess to account for the new font?

  Not sure that the result will be 100% desirable, but there is a way to define all frames to auto-size...

  Run find/replace and choose the tab object.

  Down, choose the Document research: menu. Choose the blocks of text such as: menu.

  Click the icon of glass/frame next to the search Object Format field:

  

  In the Options of Format object search dialog box, choose Auto setting 'Off' on the text size Options > menu automatic sizing:

  

  Click OK, and then click the icon / window next to the subject of change Format field:

  

  In the change object Format Options dialog box, choose 'Height' only on the text size Options framework Auto > auto-size menu, and then click the up button in the Center in the framework - pinning proxy:

  Note: Another option for pinning would be better according to your presentations, but this setting will make executives grow at the bottom, which seems the most logical... in most cases.

  I recently started on the design of a catalog for my small business. I tried to merge data but found it not sufficient flexibility offered me in the design to use. Other options such as easycatalog are out of my budget, my strategy has been to use a text template object and the input data as I go along - a little of your time, but I can format each product exactly how I want. The question I met is going back and editing. As the document is now, I have 2 columns per page full of text individual for each product, as well as text headings individual blocks for each product group. I would like to connect so that they move and runs into alignment with the other if I go back and change. (means that if I want to add a new product between two existing products, the entire document is adjusted and formats). It's a bit like text thread, but with independent objects.   At this point, I think you have really two strategies. The first, as already mentioned, is to create a new text frame empty (really a set of images of text block that traverse the pages), and then cut your existing frameworks and paste into the threaded chassis to make anchored objects. It would be much easier by script that manually. Have you checked to InDesignSecrets.com?

  Te second is a bit more direct and can also work, or work in combination with the images to anchored objects, and which would consist of a set of paragraph styles that apply sequence Options to prevent any material list of snap on fairly strict columns. You can put on and then just all your existing frameworks together. There is a free script to redo the thread at rorohiko.com

• Images are pasted as text embedded in a block of text.

  Whenever I paste an image I copied with ctrl + c from another software, its pasted into indesign as an object embedded within a block of text.

  What should I do to have all the images pasted with ctrl + v always be stuck like a graphic block?

  PS: I have no style object created or assigned to what it is.

  A roundabout method would be to save the Word document in PDF format, then copy the PDF file and paste into FrameMaker with nothing selected. You will probably have to develop a method to resize the image firat. If all images must be resizing the same amount, you may be able to use the options under object > transform or object > transform again on multiple selections.

• Blocks of text added to the elements in my Indesign library?

  Hey,.

  When I put design elements (even a simple text so that I can, say, save a title font I like for a specific item) in my library of re - use later, when I get out they have a huge text block on the, which I then delete manually. It is a pain. I might as well keep a Notepad next to my computer and write things I like and redo them every time if I have to get dirty with the elements I shoot off to the library anyway.

  Anyway I can just stop doing that? I wish that the item I put in the library must be THE SAME item when I go out. I feel there is some setting somewhere I can not find the cause.

  This is justified for new created document, not for those that already exist. If existing existis problem in a document, you need to change the default style, no object selected.

  I highly recommend to create its own styles of base for each category and load them in several panels style always have styles with the same name in all the documents that facilitates the exchange of points.

  Default object styles are the ones with the small rectangle to the right graph. The one with the ist T for text blocks, one without T for the picture frames.

• Object style

  Stupid question: I created an object style that works well for more, but the object is still a chart and I want to be a text. I can't find the way to tell this object to be always the text exactly.

  What the object starts as depends on what tool you use to create the framework initially.

  If you use the Rectangle Frame (F) tool, you get a graphic image (the one with X showing).

  If you use the Rectangle (M), then you get an unassigned frame (one will detect an X and not a block of text).

  If you use the text tool (T), then you get an empty text block.

  Assuming you have set your default object style, the last two of the three tools above should create a framework usign the style of the requested object. For the graphic frame, it is defaulted to no style.

  This is the behavior I have with CS4.

  Is it possible to create a form in the object Styles I can create in InDesign? I know that I can attribute some qualities, but I would like to create a capsule form that will be repeated throughout a page of lists in our sites.

  So far, I have to copy, paste, and anchor the object in the text which is quite time that we have thousands of ads, and life is too short for mundane tasks.

  If I can create a form of object Styles, by entering its dimensions, it will allow me to create the style for import into InDesign, 4 d, our CMS.

  If not, can we have it in a new construction, please Adobe?

  That can be done with tabs and styles nested using underscore with a custom stroke style. I hope that these screenshots should explain it...
