Blue screen while updating BIOS on M8020N Media Center PC
I am using this computer for one of the partners of the company where I work. The computer was a mess with all sorts of nonsense installed so we decided to do the HP system recovery. I tried the recovery partition and the CD of restoration but had no luck. I finally found an update of the firmware of this particular DVD player that specifically addresses unable to perform a recovery system for the HP DVD. I installed Vista from a Technet DVD I have so I could apply the updated firmware for the DVD drive. I ran the update and it succeeded, then I restarted the machine and tried to update the BIOS. This is where I had a problem. I got a BSOD with 0x0000008E error code while upgrading the BIOS was running and now the computer will not start. I get the following on the screen during startup:
Award BIOS BootBlock v1.0
Copyright (c) 2000, price Software Inc..
BIOS ROM Checksum error
IDE ATAPI device detection
Found the CDROM, try to boot from it... failed
A floppy drive media detection
INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
Is this system competely watered or can I do to reflash the BIOS at this point?
Thanks in advance,
JG
I have fixed this problem. It took me a few hours to find all the information that I needed online and compile it to something useful, but I finally got to work,
Just in case someone else runs into this problem in the future, I have saved a copy of a CD bootable image that contains awdflash 1.32 (old but this is the only version that worked) and the BIOS update file extracted from the HP download sp37378.exe (BIOS version 5.23) to a public folder on my skydrive.
Create a bootable CD using this image using nero file or another, put the cd in the drive and start the PC. When it starts high hit enter twice to move further time shit, type awdflash hit entry, type in 523. bin for the hit to enter BIOS update file name. In my case the PC rebooted normally and Windows loaded as it should.
Here is the file, now repair your computer. http://CID-6f5ea26d78c976af.Office.live.com/self.aspx/public/bootdisk.img
I hope it works as well for you as it did for me. I can't guarantee that it will work for you so don't blame me if it's FRY your computer, makes your children turn to drugs, makes the CTE runaways, dog... I want to say is this is what worked for me, but if you use it, you do so at your own risk.
Enjoy,
JG

Original title: 64-bit Windows 7 memory dump blue screen
Specifications of the computer
HARD disk: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1 TB 7200 RPM / MIN SATA 3.0 Gb/s 3.5 "drive hard internal-Bare driveOS: 64 - bit Windows 7 Home PremiumIt's a new generation and I have all updated drivers, bios, and Windows updates. I set my virtual memory for two hard drives (min: 8000/Max: 24000). I run PrecisionX in the background with stock settings, and Asus II HAVE suite and my CPU is overclocked to 3.8 (recommended turbo). I run CNettoyez on a regular basis to solve registry problems.I had my new blue screen of generation of dumps from memory, about four times since I built it. It comes into play, i.e. of Starcraft 2 and Battlefield 3, and once when he came out of sleep. I ran a memory test, and he says that he has no problem. Suggestions or anything like that, I need to test again? On a side note: don't suck my HDD or is it decent? 1 TB, 3 Gb/s, 32 MB cache. My OS is on my SSD as well as Torchlight 2, and the rest of my stuff on my disk HARD of Starcraft 2 and Battlefield 3, media and stuff. Thanks for your help. I think that I thought about it. The "timing" on my ram is disabled, so I manually set in the BIOS and see what happens.
Also, it would cause W7 to freeze coming out of sleep? I had this recent problem where when my computer out of sleep and it wouldn't wake up and my CPU LED should blink slowly. After turned it off, I will re-start and it would be nice, but now it is that whenever I put it in sleep mode. -
blue screen problem update Radeon hd 6770 m
so I went to amd and makes automatic detection, so I can get the latest driver for the video card in HD 6770 m... once I downloaded the new driver updated and installed, I can not open my catalyst and says that I have no hardware support and I also get the blue screen crash my computer... to solve this problem, so I had to do a system restore and restore all the drivers and im currently stuck with the version of the 8.882.2.300 driver that was published in the year 2011...
I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6195us laptop computer
and I hurt after my gpuz so you can help me solve my question... Thank you
Please help meI have a HP Dv7 6197 ca with the same card as you, then here is how you fix this problem: update your BIOS to the latest version, and then in the BIOS screen (press ESC, then select the Bios Setup) and change the setting for the Graphics Mode fixed to Dynamics. This should solve your problem. If you can't find this option in the BIOS update, then try the UBR tool in the installer of UNIFIL. I suggest try F840 and F940 values.
If the resolution is all wonky after you go into the BIOS, you will need to re - install the drivers.

Vista blue screen after update
So I had update during a routine traffic stop of my compy (who was btw custom assembled by a friend and has worked perfectly for a year). I got the install updates and the button stop, then left for a few hours, thinking that it would update after a few minutes. I came home, and he had not yet determined a percentage of completion yet. SO I thought it was frozen/not going to work, so I unplugged it (I know it says not to do: P). so now so now when I turn it on it goes to the screen to stop and lets me choose if I want to start in:
safe mode
SafeMode w / networking
safe mode with command prompt
last known good configuration
normallyI tried all of this and they all take me to a blue screen that says:
STOP: c0000218 {Registry file failure}
registry cannot load the hive (file)
systemroot\system32\config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternative
It is corrupt absent or not writabledata collection for the crashdump...
initialization of the disk for the crashdump...
beginning physical memory dump...
Dumping physical memory to disk:I don't have my instillation of windows disk because I heard that it comes with a repair disc which should solve this problem.
I tried to make Internet and I couldn't make them work
I tried to make one with the "recovery disk creator" on my new computer laptop sisters. he wouldn't let me continue the program, even if it charged because my computer is not a product of toshibaI have full of ideas on how to solve this problem.
Recovery disk/s on other computers will not work on your.
Try to use the ERD below.
If this does not work, contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery Vista disc/s, or ask for help in using your recovery Partition; and do a Vista reinstall.
As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.
As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It's a very good Vista repair disc.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
There is not a disk of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
See you soon.

Installed Windows 7 on my netbook but keep getting the blue screen while surfing Web sites
Hello!
First of all, this is my first post time on these forums, I often read them and think they are great!
Now on to my question, I recently installed Windows 7 on my LG x 110 netbook. I ran the windows Upgrade Advisor 7 and confirmed that my netbook managed to all the minimum requirements for a 32-bit install. After installing Windows 7 my pc works perfectly (better than XP in fact) has installed all of the drivers needed to run automatically unless the driver for my microphone and my 3gs integrated internet which I managed to resolve. The only problem I have is sometimes while surfing the web, I get the blue screen of death and my netbook restarts. I was not able to understand by myself am so regarding this forum hoping to repair... I contacted LG for information on downloading upgraded drivers, but got a response from them saying that my pc is not supported with drivers for windows 7. Here is some information from the Center problem with Windows 7, I don't know if it's necessary info, please tell me where to find the correct information and how to access it.

It seems that you have a C2 Bad Pool Caller error, which is difficult to analyze without the minidump file. If you googled around and find WinDBG, you can open the minidump file.
Look for the line: nom_image: it will tell you exactly what file has caused the error. If all goes well, once you find exactly what caused the error, you can search for updated drivers/software. At first glance, I would say it was the Realtek drivers because you see the line RTL8187Se in your info.
My MSI Wind U100 netbook works also Win7 perfectly. Double boots with MacOSX too, just because I wanted to see if I could do it. I change the hard drive (for a bigger) and added the RAM. Nothing low spec thereon compared to what was needed for WinXP when it came out!
Try this driver, it should do the trick. http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PFID=40&level=5&Conn=4&ProdID=172&DownTypeID=3&GETDOWN=false&downloads=true
And since this is the NETWORK/connection wireless card driver, he explains why the errors come during surfing!

Equium A60 blue screen after updating XP Home SP2
I have a Toshiba Equium A60-692. I have updated to XP SP2 and now get up a blue screen at startup with the message that ATI driver ati2dvg is entered in a continuous loop. The Microsoft error report says it is because of incompatible drivers, but I have the latest driver from Toshiba.
Anyone have any ideas?
Hi Laura,
Did you install CD driver "Tools & Utilities" that you got with your laptop?

Blue Screen installation updates (KB2419640) & (KB2478935) for Windows Vista
I get the blue screen when I install the above, and this update was 12/01/2011 and continues to reappear after I restore the system to January 9. So I turned off auto updates but isn't this bad since I DON'T want to prevent remote control? What can I do to fix these two updates. No blue screen before these updates, but as soon as I say yes to reboot on blue screen. What is a L1T (level a techie) to do. I need this computer until I get a job!
Thanks to the intervention of Halima S... I'm ready to tackle this problem without restoring the system. My only concern is that this command deletes previous restore dates and that the option is permanently deleted. However, first I have to print the steps to follow for a clean boot and re-read. I will work from there... Still down thanks!
Hi Apple2DellExperience,
1. are you able to install some other updates on the computer?
2. what was the message on blue screen?
3. do you have security software installed on the computer?
It is not recommended to disable the automatic update.
These updates will be revived again after the system restore.
I suggest that you manually download and install the update, check if it works.
Also, make sure you disable all the third-party program installed on the computer during the update installation process.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Have you updated your screen/video or other great drivers latetly - check in Control Panel.
Updates of Windows to see if a driver has been loaded it. Use this generic utility below
and when you get to the section driver use the methods in the next message and then back to
