Bluetooth Linux on IdeaPad Z580

I was wandering if someone managed to get the Bluetooth works on Linux on the Z580. I'm a Linux user for a long time, but I still have to use a computer with bluetooth in there. I have no experience with Bluetooth on computers

I know in fact I ordered a machine with Bluetooth in there and have also ensured that Bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS, but it does not show in lspci or lsusb and lsmod shows not all Bluetooth modules being loaded. I use a kernel in version 3.6.10.

If someone got the Bluetooth to work, I would appreciate the help.

P.S. I am rather uncomfortable using a command-line Linux, although I should mention that I do not use one of the major distributions. I'm on that is called Rosa Linux and is the only one that has been proven on my laptop because it is the only one where udev trying not to kill the CPU.

  • I have improved my i5 Ideapad Z580 to Windows 10. Big mistake?

I took in all messages from Microsoft insisting on the fact that my computer was completely compatible and that I should upgrade to Windows 10. It does appear to me that I should have checked the Lenovo Web site first to be sure. After the upgrade, I noticed two things: (1) the system seemed to work fairly well, and (2) I couldn't find Dolby Home Theater v4 (one of my absolute favorite programs). When finally, I looked on the Lenovo Web site, I found the following page with the title, 'Dolby Home Theater does not work after upgrade Windows 10' (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht104006).

When I checked the 'supported upgrade Windows 10 list' (https://support.lenovo.com/documents/ht103535), as indicated on the page, I saw that Ideapad Z580 was not on it. The page passes, saying that if your machine is not on the list, "drivers have not been updated for this machine, and Lenovo is not recommended an upgrade of Windows 10.» The page continues with possible solutions, but does it make sense to try again?

Then I found another page site called Lenovo, 'Windows 10 Upgrade Guide - IdeaPad Lenovo Notebook' (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht103611). The news here was not better. He said, 'the following listed computer models include hardware components not fully compatible with Windows 10. Therefore, the upgrade of these models to 10 Windows is not recommended. "Unfortunately, Z580 is on this list.

There are therefore, after Lenovo, hardware and software problems, and two recommendations DO NOT upgrade the Z580 to Windows 10. I did the upgrade. I have not run each program and I'm even not sure that all programs, other than the Dolby Home Theater, obtained through the upgrade (for example, Youcam have not). But the system seems to work pretty well; It may even work better she did it under Windows 7. I really miss the Dolby program. I have 30 days from July 29 to decide if I want to go back to Windows 7. So I have a few questions:

    1. as the system seems to work without major problems (outside), I should stay with Windows 10?
    2. If I stay with Windows 10, I should try the solutions described in 'Dolby Home Theater does not work after upgrade Windows 10' (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht104006) to restore the Dolby Home Theater?
    3. given that Lenovo has said that the Z580 has "not fully compatible with Windows 10 hardware components", am I headed for problems if I continue using Windows 10?
    4. given that pilots who do not have been updated, at least for the Dolby program and perhaps for others, it would be better to go back to Windows 7?
    5. is it possible that Lenovo will eventually update these drivers? If so, when does anyone know?
    6. I've heard that going back to Windows 7 can be very tricky. It is worth?
    7. If missing pilots as well as hardware components which are not completely compatible with Windows 10, why my system seems to work correctly?

Sorry for the long post. I know there are some posts on this Forum that address these problems, but they are for a year - literally of August 2015 - and things possible has changed since then.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello mgsilv,

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo.

I'll give you my view on your questions.

    1. as the system seems to work without major problems (outside), I should stay with Windows 10?

It is up to you. The fact that your model is not supported means that Lenovo has not tested some older models. The way I see it, if not tested, there is no guarantee that it will be, or will not work.

    2. If I stay with Windows 10, I should try the solutions described in 'Dolby Home Theater does not work after upgrade Windows 10' (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht104006) to restore the Dolby Home Theater?

If I were you, I will try the solutions, especially as long as you have the option to return to the previous operating system. Be sure that the system restore is enabled and works. It would not hurt to create a Restore Point before any change of Dolby. You also have an option to restore the drivers by using Device Manager in Windows 10.

    3. given that Lenovo has said that the Z580 has "not fully compatible with Windows 10 hardware components", am I headed for problems if I continue using Windows 10?

I can't answer because I don't know what kind of changes Windows 10 will in the future, and if your hardware and/or software will continue to be compatible...

    4. given that pilots who do not have been updated, at least for the Dolby program and perhaps for others, it would be better to go back to Windows 7?

    See my response to #1.

    5. is it possible that Lenovo will eventually update these drivers? If so, when does anyone know?

I can't speak for Lenovo, but given all new computers with OEM to catch up, I doubt that they go too far back to update the drivers for the older models. You can always keep checking back to the list of compatibility and drivers on Support to see if anything changes.

    6. I've heard that going back to Windows 7 can be very tricky. It is worth?

    I have not heard that.

    7. If missing pilots as well as hardware components which are not completely compatible with Windows 10, why my system seems to work correctly?

It has not been tested. This does not mean that it has been tested and failed.

Sorry for the long post. I know there are some posts on this Forum that address these problems, but they are for a year - literally of August 2015 - and things possible has changed since then.

    For some models there.

If I were you, I would continue to use 10 for a week or so just to be sure everything works (printer, ports, your old software, etc.). If you can't get absolutely Dolby or anything else to work, weigh priorities, taking the Windows 7 End of SupportDates.

  • Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 - delay issue - help

    Hello

I have a problem with my Lenovi Ideapad Z580. Below you can see the hardware specifications.

My problem is that this laptop is trolling (freezing) whenever I run movies, listen to music, youtube, basically while doing anything.

It happens randomly, lasts only for a few moments (like a sound of frying). I do not have to restart the computer, but it's very annoying and concerning, in particular because that machine is only a few months old and I would say, very powerful.

Just to give you some information regarding what I tried so far:

-J' checked the processes in the task each time that takes place behind Manager > I have not noticed any problem. I mean, use of CPU, disk use etc. are all aged 30-40-50% (if not less)

-Check if the laptop is overheating - 100% not the case, laptop is cold temperature. I had a similar problem on my old Acer that was overheating, so I would like to know if this is the problem

-J' ran virus scan-let me say that this computer came installed with security McAffee, I turned off and installed Avast (free), I read that McAffee can cause the problem of wireless connection (that I had also...)

    -Updated Nvidia card drivers

Any help, advice would be appreciated, I'm getting more and more concerned about this issue.

    Hello

I'm still not completely sure, but it seems that my problem can be solved. I keep will monitor the situation and meet again in the coming days.

I read everything I found on this topic (late) and found some additional advice on what could be done and I tried all the:

-Downloaded video drivers (Nvidia and Intel) support from Lenovo (the last time I think that I've updated only Nvidia)

-Plan of energy change / mode, from balanced to High Performance

-Option used to remove dust from the fan (fron Lenovo Energy Management)

    -Computer reloaded

After the steps above, I looked at a few hours of videos and I have not experienced any slow response, I just hope that it will stick.

As I said, I will come back in a few days with your comments.

  • The IdeaPad Z580 smooth vibration

    Hello

I brought a Z580 IdeaPad and after somedays, I discovered that the upper left corner of the keyboard is a bit loose and not closed so that when I press the ESC key for example the guardian of this corner layer goes up and comes down a bit and I'm worried about that; is it possible that the layer is not well confirmed?

And another thing is that when I close the lid and slide my fingers gently on its opaque layer I feel a kind of vibration and I think it's due to the rotation of hed HDD maby or maby it's because of the last problem I said no farms in the keyboard?

Please, if there is a problem help me and guide me to solve.

    Thank you very much.

HARD drives cause a vibration, it's normal, I have two Z580 and one of my keyboard has some flex in the same place as your clicks when I press ESC, my other Z580 is fine, solid keyboard.

I found a guide to remove the keyboard, only 4 screws, 1 for the back cover and 3 for the keyboard, so I followed the guide and redesigned the keyboard and mine is now a bit better, there still so flex, just not so much.

    Hello.

I have a Z580 Ideapad. Previously I had installed W8 and now I have 8.1. In the two operating systems, I get an error message on my camera. He said: "please connect a camera to start", that is, that it does not recognize.

And I think that it is all about the driver. See the photos below.

How can I get a good driver of the camera for W8.1?

I own a Z580 Ideapad and upgraded to Windows 8 yesterday. I noticed that the smart touchpad stopped working after the upgrade. I installed the correct driver, Synaptics Touchpad Driver for Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit) - IdeaPad Z380/Z480/Z580, hoping that it would work, but nothing helped. I also tried to reinstall/overwrite my existing 64-bit driver when prompted by my system to do so.

  • USB 3.0 only works as 2.0 (z580)

Hello I have a computer laptop ideapad Z580. Since I bought it in 2012, the ads about usb 3.0 ports never worked at that speed. They work as type 2.0 with usb 3.0 flash drives. Can you help me to fix it? I have 10 windows but I tried usb 3.0 drives the previous years on Windows 8 and 8.1. I have not tried it on win 7 because I improved a few days after the purchase. I flashed the new bios yesterday as well. I want to add here that the bios do not have an option to enable usb 3.0 and drivers for win 7 to Lenovo support for usb 3.0 page do not solve the problem also.

    Hello guys,.

I finally fixed it, but I don't know how. I have monitired the USB with the HWINFO64 after I plugged a USB 3.0. The stick was visible in USB 2.0 and the write speed was less than 10 MB/s. After a couple of safe is ejected and plug-ins the port began to work as expected. In the future, I hope to work as usual at every time and I did not unplug the key several times in order to work. I have nothing else to offer to this discussion.

PS. My write speed was about 95 MB/s with single files of 4 GB (sandisk extreme 32 GB).

  • Z580 - WLAN adapter problem

I've got Lenovo IdeaPad Z580, with Core i7, 4 GB of RAM and 1 TB of HARD drive processor.

A few months ago, I noticed that my BONES sometimes would freeze (make this beep sound freakin ') if I moved my computer too fast in my office (weird). She got worse a few weeks ago and seems to be somehow connected to my wireless network adapter.

It especially simply - nothing works. Switch WLAN disappears from the BIOS configuration, etc., like it wasn't even there. If I'm lucky (as I am now), it would work somehow. All of a sudden appears again in the BIOS etc. I can even use it on my Windows 8, but... If I propose a little my laptop, it will suddenly freeze and restart causes WLAN adapter not in the system at all, or the connection is de-energized ("metered" stuff etc.). Restart adapter according to the results of system in "find no WLANs", wlan switch endangered or gel.

I tried to reinsert the WLAN card, it sorta fixed stuff when I did it for the first time, I had a week or two without a problem, but he returned and reintegrated support is no longer.

First question what I can do with this adapter WLAN problem?

Second question is - while doing all this thing reinserting, my screws are a little bare now (but not completely, it is possible to get them unscrewed without any problem) because I have not noticed my screwdriver is broken and ruining. My laptop is still covered by the warranty? I do not have removed or broken any warranty seals in the process well, just the screws.

I forgot to mention, by WLAN adapt is Atheros AR9485WB-EG.

Information on repair mentions setting parts disconnected.

  • Lenovo z580 not recognizing wireless adapter

    Hello everyone

I just brought a new Lenovo ideapad z580. It came with windows 8, which is unusable. So I did a clean install of windows 7 and keep trying to install the drivers.

Windows refuses him acknowledge the existence of my wireless adapter. I opened the bottom to the top and I can see her, but he does not recognize. I installed the driver, and it does not recognize. I went into device management, and there was a small exclamation mark by "network controller" I don't know if this is the wireless adapter that it does not recognize. I went into bios and disabled WLAN and then restarted and reanbled it in bios and tried again all without success. I don't know what to do I am at a loss...

    Someone at - it ideas?

The network controller is the wifi card. Try to install the drivers manually from the Device Manager.

  • Slow start Z580

    Hello

I just bought a new Ideapad Z580 brilliant with an i7 and 8 GB of RAM and was quite disappointed with the start... time initially, it took about 2 minutes, but after runnning the optimization that Lenovo tool provides and remove unnecessary applications using msconfig, it takes about 50 seconds.

It is significantly different from the 24 s startup Lenovo seems to contend with increased experience they provide with the laptop 3. I would like to ask you, is this normal startup time or there at - it something wrong with the laptop?

    Thank you!

    Zehn,

It took me less than five minutes to follow your instructions (I am a novice); the problem has been resolved; the computer starts now in 23 seconds.

I disabled an old, not connected, printer.

I'm curious to know why he was departing upward if I had uninstalled.
