  Only one set of basic pilot is available for Windows 8.1, the HP Solution Center is not available for your printer on the operating system, so you cannot check the ink level of the HP software for your current operating system.

• Red spots on the skin when printing with the HP PhotoSmart 8400 printer

  I am trying to print a JPEG image that is very high resolution (3000 x 2000) and the quality is superb on my monitor.

  However when I try to print on my HP PhotoSmart 8400 printer there is a strange red 'sand' pattern (pixelation) that appears on the skin of most of the bodies of the subjects. I did the test the page and sample page that look ok, but does not use the same colors and has not any skin tone (it's a picture of Orchid).

  I tried this on glossy paper and regular paper, and it seems to pretty much the same, with the effect more pronounced on glossy paper. I also tried to change the image in several different ways, including lowering the resolution, changing colors and adding a blur gaussing, but cannot get rid of the strange grainy effect.

  Can you get it someone please let me know if it is a common problem with the device, or if my photo is somehow wrong? If Yes, where can I get a picture called to test the printing of skin tone, or how can I solve the problem.

  Update: I tried with another photo on the web and I see the same effect. Given that this printer is a few years old I start thinking that it's just a physical limitation of the printer.

  Found problem - I replaced my cartridge 99 and that fixed it.

  I use HP Photosmart 8453 on my PC and it works correctly.

  But since I installed Windows 8 operating system on my PC as an extra BONE, he couldn't work.

  There are two operating systems installed on my PC: Win7 Ultimate (64-bit) and Win8 Enterprise (64-bit).

  As for Windows 7, the printer works fine, but when I switch to Windows 8 and try to print anything, there is a blue box in the upper right corner of the screen "printing error. The printer can not print a test page.

  When I click in the box, printer queue opens and shows me a document marked as "error - printing".

  I tried all of the utilities that I could find on this site and forum, but I couldn't even print a test page!

  HP print and Scan Doctor based only a single error: unable to print a test page.

  I have no errors or yellow triangles in the Device Manager.

  Everything works fine until I try to print any page. I didn't even see a preview of a page!

  There are two different boxes with different information about the printer in Device Manager.

  When I click on "Prorerties" on the line "printers / HP Photosmart 8400 series ', I find the following:

  Driver information: "Build date: 21.06.2006 04:00; ' Build version: 6.1.7600.16385 ".

  When I click on 'Prorerties' on the line ' compatible with IEEE 1284,4 printers / HP printer ', I find the following:

  Driver information: "Build date: 13.08.2012 04:00; ' Build version: 7.0.0.25.

  Reinstall the Windows Update driver, changing the port, manual installation were not helpful.

  Now I can use the printer only on Windows 7 and I hope I'll be able to print on the latest version of Windows.

  I did everything that was recommended on the site of HP.

  But I finally let my printer works on WIN 8 as follows.

  1. I've noticed that my printer print after reinstalling UNTIL I connect to Internet on my PC.

  Then it stops printing.

  Finally, by comparing the versions of the drivers, I found that 'smart' Windows Update had been transformed HP Driver version 6.1.7600.16385 as Microsoft enhanced Point and print driver compatibility with version 6.2.9200.16384.

  I noticed that, by looking at the version of the driver for my printer after connecting to the Internet.

  In my opinion, Windows Update changed pilot to my printer in a 'new '.

  2 when I found these changes let me auto update of my drivers by clicking on my PC in devices and printers-> settings of device, where I never chose 'install drivers from Windows Update' instead of automatically.

  3. then I reinstalled the printer and it started to work even after the connection to the Internet!

  The problem is too difficult, but now it is solved!

  I don't think that my solution was good, but printer prints now and I am very happy!

  I did some research on these errors and found that they can be caused by cables that are not properly connected, corrupt, drivers, incompatible drivers, the printer settings, missing updates and problems with your printer. • iMac very slow and short HOT.  the fan runs almost constantly

  My iMac 2011 short middle slow and often gets "the ball" of the computer runs hot (uncomfortable keep the hand on top) and the fan is almost always running.  Activity monitor shows the low CPU usage. Any ideas?

  Avoid using third-party software that claims to clean your computer. This software does more harm than good. In addition, you don't need it. Note that all computers become slower over time even in the normal conditions of use. Generally, the experienced users erasing the hard drive and do a clean install from scratch at least once a year or every time that the installation of a major upgrade of the OS. Well sure doing so also means that you need to maintain regular and several backups.

  Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the drop process .  Click the % CPU column heading twice to display in descending order.  If find you a process that uses a large amount of time processor (> = 70,) then select the process, and then click the quit icon in the toolbar.  Click the force quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Don't forget to mention the name of the runaway process, so you can find the cause of the problem.

  I'm able to print a test page but nothing else. Other computers can connect to this same printer (HP Photosmart 8400 series) and have no problems printing. I use this same printer for almost two years on this laptop (MacBook Pro) and have never had any problems. Nothing has changed except that my roommate got a new MacBook and began to connect to the printer (we don't do wireless printing). Any ideas?

• Printing from Windows 7 problems

  I have a new laptop running Windows 7 64 bit.  Whenever I try to print (PDF or WORD) the system creates a .prn, instead of print file.  I tried printing 525W Dell and HP Photosmart 8400 (wireless).  I have uninstalled/reinstalled both devices and checked that I have the right drivers.  I am able to print on my Windows Vista laptop older and my system Windows 8 (also wireless) devices.   I have run the printer troubleshooting app and searched the community.  As printers work on other systems, which seems to be directly related to Windows 7.   Also, I rebooted the Printer Spooler service.  I don't get any errors when trying to print - only the creation of the .prn file.

  When you try to print a web page pops up a window print? The box before printing it in file been verified?

  You have an HP Bluetooth (like the HP bt500) adapter that is connected to the front USB port?

  The specific model do not support Bluetooth built-in and need to use an external adapter, as you can find listed on page 20 of the following User Guide:

  I have an old Photosmart 3210 all-in-one printer still works fine.  I want to make it wireless using a bluetooth adapter.  The recommended is bt300.  Y at - it a newer version that would work? I don't think it sells more.

  I don't know if you can use another bluetooth adapter, but the manual indicates that the HP bt300 and HP bt400 work.

• Photosmart Premium Fax AIO - rejects Android Bluetooth phone queries

  I tried to send a document created by QuickOffice Pro on my printer HP Photosmart Premium Fax AIO C309a of my Samsung Android 2.3 smartphone series.  The phone finds the bluetooth printer and I select.  The application attempts to send the document to print and it fails with the error "request refused by remote device.

  I thought I could use this printer as a bluetooth device, pair it with my phone and send documents to print.  Is there anything else I need to do to make it work correctly?

  I solved my problem. It print photos, but to print documents, you must install the third-party software, printshare and then buy the Premium key for $12.95.  It does not work on my Photosmart Premium Fax AIO.

• Vista Patch Duplex for Photosmart 8100 and 8400 Series

  Some models of printer with automatic duplexer print incorrectly on the back in Vista.  In these models on the back is printed updside down regardless of the driver configuration.

  Hello thewheel.  I understand that you want your phone bluetooth to your printer and use it to send faxes.

  Unfortunately, because of how fax machines work, it will not be possible.  Fax machines work by talking to other devices using the "tones" the phone creates when you press a button/perform action.  Your phone does not have these tones to communicate and thus, does not use them.  This means that your mobile phone and Fax cannot communicate as appropriate to perform this action.

  However, there are services that allow you to send digitally faxes by internet.  Is not the same thing as what you asked, but it is a possibility, in that you can watch.  There are many of these applications then take a look at these Google search results and see if any of them will meet your needs.

  A print spooler is software that temporarily stores the disk printing hard or in memory until the printer is ready to print. If you were expecting an abnormally long time to print a document, or if you see an error message about the print spooler, Spooler subsystem or spooler resources, you might need to change and then restart the print spooler service on your computer.

  To do this, we recommend that you save your work and restart the computer to restart the print spooler service. If you do not want to restart the computer, try these steps.

  To change or restart the print spooler service

  You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

  a. click the Start button, Control Panel, click System and Maintenance and then click Administrative Tools.

  b. double-click on Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  c. right-click on the print spooler service and then click Properties.

  d. on the general tab, next to startup type, make sure that automatic is selected.

  e. If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Start and then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
