Printing from Windows 7 problems

I have a new laptop running Windows 7 64 bit.  Whenever I try to print (PDF or WORD) the system creates a .prn, instead of print file.  I tried printing 525W Dell and HP Photosmart 8400 (wireless).  I have uninstalled/reinstalled both devices and checked that I have the right drivers.  I am able to print on my Windows Vista laptop older and my system Windows 8 (also wireless) devices.   I have run the printer troubleshooting app and searched the community.  As printers work on other systems, which seems to be directly related to Windows 7.   Also, I rebooted the Printer Spooler service.  I don't get any errors when trying to print - only the creation of the .prn file.

When you try to print a web page pops up a window print? The box before printing it in file been verified?

    Hello

I found the answer to that by trawling for ever, it IS a HP PROBLEM, ARE YOU listening TO HP?

the fact is that the printer driver will agree that a system administrator to print from some programs, Adobe, Office, Wordpad there more, but if you apply this fix, they will print

go to the HEART control PANEL > USER ACCOUNTS > CHANGE USER ACCOUNT SETTINGS.

Drag the slider to the bottom never notify, and then restart your computer.

    works on windows 7

Indeed, you raise your account to an admin sys, but if HP has got their act together, they would sort this issue, because it is everywhere in their forums.

  • Not printing from Windows XP

I was feeling of success with my Windows XP computer for years on my HP 7360 inkjet. All updates and patches are up to date. Last successful impression was about 14:34 on June 22. The current number is any attempt to print from any application provides an error that there is no printer. There is no indication on the list of printers. Microsoft Fix It says spooler is not running and the fact (even if the Service Manager said it was running). Even after rebooting, I am unable to print or add a printer through the wizard, or via a separate program from the HP Installer. I would just remove the driver library and dll for any printer and try again, but do not know how to do this, and I don't know if this is necessary, or even desirable (or will solve the problem).

The printer has been shared on the network home, but locally connected on the primary computer.

Any ideas? And of course, I have a set of criticism of papers to get out today and this weekend.

Often, but not always, the symptoms you describe are caused by a corrupt print job stuck in the queue or a damaged printer driver.  However before you clean things up, on general principles, that you can download, install, update and run full scans with each of these two free programs:

    AntiMailware MalwareBytes
    SUPERAntiSpyware

Do not operate the two scans simultaneously.  Each will take a long time, so start it and then go do something else for a while.

    Cleaning of printers

NOTE: If, after completing the stage has the print spooler is not always running after you launched the command "net start spooler", you won't be able to follow all the steps in "First Article".  Instead, go to the other link and download and get and use the utility 'cleanspl' such as described here.

NOTE 2: HP printers have more than a number.  They could be DeskJets, LaserJet, OfficeJets, or something else.  If you actually have a HP Photosmart D7360 printer, download your driver here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=dj-41958-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=228&product=1156651&sw_lang= if this isn't your model, you're on your own: Research from HP

    A. Clean on print jobs pending

    • Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
    • Type the following in the black command prompt window, and then press ENTER after each line

    net stop spooler
    del/q '% windir%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.* '.
    net start spooler
    output

    B. clean the old printer drivers and install the latest drivers by using the directions in One Article.  If you have (or had) a Lexmark printer, follow the instructions on the following site before installing the new drivers, as explained in its first Article: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

  • HP 6500 E709n cannot print from Windows 7 wireless

I have 3 computers on my office network at home and a HP 6500 E709n with a wireless connection to the router. The printer does everything it's supposed to the XP machine. On the 2 computers running Windows 7, the printer will scan and fax but not print.

When I used the USB cable to connect the printer to a Windows 7 computer, the functions worked well. So, apparently, is not just a matter of having the right driver (and I now reinstalled Windows 7 driver twice after my hard disk cleanup at best). I've checked absolutely everything, and all the recognitions seems to work going both ways. But whenever I try to send a document to the printer to Windows 7, it just sits in the queue.

Other users have this problem? Is that what someone has solved? Thank you.

  • I try to print from Windows Photo Gallery. Put the print job in the queue, but does not print.

I try to print a photo directly from the Windows Vista Photo Gallery. The task appears in the print queue and says he is "sent to printer", but prints never. I can print from other programs. I tried to reinstall my printer driver but no problems. My printer is a Dell 946. Any ideas?

    Hi DElizabethB,

1 when was the last time you were able to print using Windows Photo Gallery?
    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    Method 1

It is possible that some third-party photo editing software installed on the computer is in conflict with the printing process.

I suggest that you check if the Windows Photo Gallery is set as default program for opening images on the computer.

    1. open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.
    2. click on set your default programs.
    3. in the framework of programs, click the Windows Photo Gallery, and then click set this program as default.
    4. click on OK.
    5. check if printing works.

    Method 2

It is possible that some settings for the printer are incorrect, run the fix tool available in the link below and check if it works.

    Solve printer problems
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-printer-problems

    Method 3

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer are in conflict with the printing process.
I suggest you perform the clean boot procedure and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
    1. click on Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.
    3. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

    I hope this helps!

  • Impossible to remove a printer from Windows 7 after his retirement from the server

I'm trying to remove a printer from the network.  He took the RODC without problem.  Now, try to remove it from a Windows 7 machine, I get the error: "access is denied, cannot delete the device.  The printer was added to Windows 7 by opening the print share, and automatically installed the drivers.  Removing it should be equally easy or even automatic.

    I tried the following:

    1. There is no option "Run as Administrator" to the printer, or any level of the path of Control Panel.
    2. I have run CMD as administrator, then launched PRINTUI/s/T2.  For the printer driver will not uninstall because it is used by the printer and another printer.  So I don't want to uninstall the driver.  I want just the deleted network printer.
    3. The server shows no vestige on the part of the printer by using NET SHARE.
    4. I restarted the spooler on the server and the local computer printer
    5. I tried to disable UAC completely.  Still no access.
    6. There is no printing on the local computer under C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.
    7. Under elevated privileges, I tried running PRINTUI /dn \\server\sharename.  Also PRINTUI /dn printername.  «Impossible operation completed (error 0 x 00000709).» Double check the name of the printer and make sure that the printer is connected to the network. "Why should it be connected to the network if I am trying to delete it?
    8. Also tried the PRINTUI /dl switch.  Wants the connected printer.
    9. Tried PRINTUI/dn/n \\servername\sharename of elevated privileges.  Access is denied.
    10. The printer is not in group policy.
    11. I searched for the appropriate methods of elimination of network printers where it was supposed to be done first customer.  Nothing found.
    12. From a command prompt high. A ran "Control Panel."  He opens the configuration panel.  Navigated to the printer and "remove hardware".  Same mistake.

At the end of the day I will try to end the session, and then restart.  I don't expect you to do anything.

In my case, my solution has proved to be much simpler.  I had been out of IT for years and was filling this position, trying to learn the tricks of the trade.  I had never been familiar with 'The printer management' tool AD Admin.  (Domain environment)  I just had to remove the printer out there.

I had a good laugh when an another computer scientist who noted.

  • Printing from windows 7 via a printer print on a shared machine machine xp...

Have a new Windows 7 computer. Have an old XP Machine I have a shared printer (Brother MFC 8640D printer).

The 7 machine uses drivers for the printer and print on the printer when the printer is directly connected to this machine. However, when I try to share the printer on the XP machine, it is said that he can not find the driver for the printer. I tried to download the driver from the brother Web site 7 to the XP machine with no luck (they failed 7 even as an option on their website) has tried to turn the printer on the 7 machine and make the shared printer from there and then have print XP machine from there with luck either.

Said that possible I had to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional and this could solve the problems. Suggestions?

An update will not fix this problem.
XP and Windows 7 are really different, conflicts like this are always that does not exist.

Have you tried manual installation of Windows Seven?
Try to install this way (text is incorrect, I have Dutch in English)

    1. make sure you have shared the printer correctly in Windows XP
    2. to win seven explore the network and dubbleclick computer XP.
(if not found automatically type the IP address in the start menu--> search like this: \\192.168.1.2)
    3. the shared printer should show here, right click it and chooce 'Connect' (if not shown here, the printer is properly shared nog)

If Windows still asks you a driver, manually browse trough the list and select the printer in Windows Seven.
It should install the correct driver and must always be able to print low.

You say that you have connected and installed the printer on Windows Seven directly the correct driver should be under the overview of Windows Seven.

  • HP Officejet 5740: Cannot print from Windows 10

Since the upgrade to Win10 I can no longer connect and print from my Officejet 5740. Other machines / devices in the House (not Win10) can print very well. The printer always showed "offline". I tried to remove and re-add them, but it doesn't give me the 'DIRECT' option - I can get into my router wireless WPS PIN (by the other responses on this forum), but it says it cannot connect.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a will not print from Windows 8.1

I have a HP printer Officejet Pro 8600 N911a that returns the 72234 error code everytime I try to print a document from my Windows 8.1 desktop (HP 1520 t).

Also, there is a single instance of error code 74899

The same document prints fine on my Windows 7 Desktop and my Windows 7 Netbook.

Firmware of the printer is: CLP1CN1416AR

Firmware from the Support Page of the printer appears as: CLP1CN1322CR (2014-07-18)

What should I do next to be able to print from my computer Windows 8.1.

    Steve

Note: This is the first issue I had with this printer that was bought a year ago.

Hello Steve, I hope you're well

Thanks for getting back to me with your info!

Yes, I would first of all, running the wizard of wireless configuration from the front panel of the printer (installation program, Menu, Assistant wireless network), make sure that the printer is connected to your network, then proceed to uninstall the printer, restart the PC and reinstall them both back on your computer.

I hope that this is the solution!

    Have a great Monday!
