Boot cant after Vista upgrade

I tried to move from XP to Vista on a DELL computer.  XP was loaded by a "so-called experts" for my father, but never worked properly (not convinced it is a true copy).  Vista is a true copy.  seemed to load ok, I walked into the validation code, reach the stage of restarting, but failed to restart and does not start at all now.  briefly, it flashes the DELL support page, then falls to a blinking cursor only.  It does not allow either all the entries back.  I tried F2 and F12 boot menu - settings both are set to the defaults along the.  I can't get the Vista disk or restart.

all ideas welcome please.  Thank you.

Contact Dell and get the correct XP Recovery discs (not convinced it is a true copy) > install XP authentic > then go to Vista.

You can not upgrade to Vista to a non-genuine version of XP.

    Hello

Here is the HP for Vista recovery information.

"Performing a recovery of the system HP (Windows Vista)"

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00809678&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=18703

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Buttons do not work on Tecra M7 after Vista Upgrade

I know that this has been addressed several times to apologize and need to wear it again as my two function keys on my Tecra do not work Vista Ultimate Upgrade post.

If I press one of them is right now they launch Windows Mobility Center. I know that's not what must happen. They haven't worked briefly last year after that my machine is back to Toshiba repair. They performed a kind of utility that has restored the functions (I had to fall back XP Tablet as one I had a problem of CD ROM believed was bound Vista and turned out be hardware failure), alas, I haven't been back to Vista and they don't work.

I have installed all updates for Vista in the order they appear on the web site. I have since saw the order suggested to load the Vista drivers. A suggestion to Toshiba - it would REALLY help if you produced a leveling guide updated for Vista with a step by step guide describing the order in which the updates must be performed.

Anyone out there that can help you - I would be really grateful for your comments.

I managed to solve this problem by changing the Toshiba value added package items. I had to check a box for support button that had not been added. If anyone else knows this cumulative, I hope this helps.

You must check your key for laptop specifications and then use the right file and drivers.

  • Qosmio F10: After Vista upgrade common module blocked due to incompatibility

I was wondering if anyone has a solution for this. I have upgraded to Vista ultimate and have gotten most of the things to work but on each startup, he said that the common module driver from Toshiba has been blocked due to incompatibility.

Most of the things work it just seems to be media and SD reader card buttons that have no card.
    All ideas welcome.

    Hello

This message appears because you have updated the OS from XP to Vista and common modules installed are not compatible with the Vista operating system.

Is Toshiba didn't publish the drivers and tools for this laptop and it's why some features don't work.

That's why I don't recommend to UPDATE the XP to Vista, but to clean install Vista on the second partition.
In this case, you will be able to use the two BONES. XP and Vista.

    Thanks Andrea

    Hello

where to download the drivers? And you checked the you´ve downloaded drivers, are most appropriate for your machine? Please make sure that, when downloading drivers, that you download these one exactly for your machine. How do I check this? You have a sticker on the bottom of your machine where the type, the model number and the serial number is written.
Pay attention to the model number, it describes the type of your model. So, when you download the drivers, make sure that you choose (if available) drivers for this model number.

By elsewhere, here are some links where you can get the drivers for toshiba machines, maybe you can try to download and install the audio driver from one other site you´ve download your drivers.

  • Qosmio F30-147 - no sound after Vista upgrade

I recently upgraded my Qosmio F30-147 of Windows XP MCE to Vista Business. I downloaded and installed almost all drivers available on the download page of Toshiba (including the update of the BIOS). Everything works fine but the sound. The SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC is the only "peripheral" listed in Device Manager. I have installed and uninstalled the SigmaTel driver available (version: 6.10.5462.0) several times without success. You have any ideas?

Very strange! You have installed all the stuff with command described in the document instructions facilities facilities?

  • Re: Satellite L650/07C-boot-loop after memory upgrade

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 / 07C - PSK1JA-07C017.
To get a little more life out of it, I've updated yesterday with a SSD and 8 GB memory.

The SSDS works perfectly and I have installed OS and all the drivers and software.
However, the memory causes a boot loops. I returned to the standard 2 x 2 GB memory at the moment.

With the new memory installed, the computer startup-loops. When you try to start Windows, the computer will appear at the stage of loading Windows (the boot animation) and then restarts.
I tried to start with the recovery discs, and it arrives at the stage of loading of Windows Setup, and then restarts.
She will continue trying to start, then by restarting (then repeat), until I turn it off.

    The memory I installed is Corsair CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 (2 x 4 GB):
    http://www.Corsair.com/cmso8gx3m2a1333c9.html

For me, it looks like the same specifications that the modules of memory Kingston 4 GB listed on the Toshiba site as being compatible with my laptop:
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/products/Accessories/memory/KTT-S3B/4G/accessories

I found the specs of memory recommended here:
    http://www.LASystems.be/PDF/Kingston/246787/KTT-S3B4G.PDF

If I go into the BIOS, I see that the memory is detected as 8192KB. The Toshiba site says that this laptop is expandable to 8 GB.

    Is there something I'm missing?
Is there another step I need to perform when upgrading their memory?
I don't know why it won't boot with the new memory modules in that I put.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I assume you have the Australian model is not easy to find info on the hardware upgrade. What I can say is that model European uses DDR3 1066 MHz memory modules and 4 GB of RAM compatible a part PA3677U-1M4G number.

It must be exact model described by microcens.
I recommend you use the tested and compatible memory modules.

  • Satellite P200 - Webcam no longer works after Vista upgrade

Since the upgrade Vista Home Premium, Vista Ultimate, the built-in webcam did not work. I have re-installed the software camera which proceeds to driver software update point. Process to fail with the message "Windows has encountered an installation problem the software of the driver for your device. "Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it." Chicony USB 2.0 Camera ". «The driver for this device is missing a necessary entry.» Maybe it's because the file INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor.

Download from Toshiba site does not contain the drivers for this device. only the Camera Assistant Software. Chicony Electronics site contains some drivers for cameras, but is not described cameras and refers to model numbers that are consistent with the references of Toshiba. I tried the latest model, but the driver installation completed with no termination message and the camera still does not work. Running the installation again recognized that something had been installed and proceeded to remove it, once again no completion message. A real class act!

Can anyone suggest where I might find a solution?

    Hello

    > Download from Toshiba site does not contain the drivers for this device. only the Camera Wizard Software
The pilot what s * and * software! This is a set that you need for the webcam!

Before installing the latest version of the software, you must remove the old one first of all. Then, restart your laptop and use CCleaner to clean your registry and Windows. A reboot, and you can install the latest drivers from the Toshiba site.

  • Help! Restoration of the system after Vista Upgrade.

    Hello

My name is Jhin and I have a HP Pavilion a6535c PC, with Windows Vista Home Premium Edition(x64). I've recently upgraded to Vista Ultimate (x 64) because of the additional language support. I really did not think it would affect something, because I would still use the same operating system.

The first day of upgrade, everything was fine; However, I started to have problems the next day.

For example, my CD/DVD drive has stopped working. I couldn't even find it in my computer. and when I looked in the Device Manager it says that the driver is corrupted or missing. To fix this, I went to regedit and delete the filters of upper/lower case and the player appeared on my computer. The drive will now appear in my computer, but it does not work properly. He reads all the disks and it keeps saying "Insert disc" and ejects anything I put in.

I found the upgrade comes into conflict with the existing drivers, I had, that's why I tried to run the HP system restore. To my surprise, the F11 does not work.

I went into my computer and saw that I still have the "FACTORY_IMAGE (D". ")" It's the same as it used to be, before the upgrade to Vista, ~9.77GB of used space.

Fortunately, I did HP recovery DVD before the upgrade to Vista, but with the CD/DVD drive not working do not, I don't know what I can do.

How can I check the integrity of D:? Is it possible for me to see if the D: is corrupt? If so, is there a way to find and resurrect the missing partition?

    I appreciate your time.

    Thank you
    JHIN

Because you can't do a recovery without a DVD/CD player I would say you contact the warranty support and ask for a new DVD player.

You have a friend who wants to lend you the use of its external CD/DVD drive? This is another possible option.

You're well enough between the hammer and the Anvil because the option to perform the recovery of the position of recovery at this stage is not possible.

  • Satellite R20: After Vista upgrade sound does not work

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite R20 compressed and I recently updated for windows Vista premium edition. I had to install some drivers manually and everything seems ok, except that the Realtek speakers do not play anything (or they are, but very weakly).

If I plug headphones into the Jack, that I can barely hear the sound. It's highest possible volume wise. Does anyone else have this problem? where can I get any help?

    Thank you

If you can hear the sound through headphones the sound card works and it of not a driver problem.
It seems that some sound controller can be assigned to the lower floor.
I know you said that all is set to high, but nevertheless to check all possible controllers

But a question: where did you find the Vista drivers for this laptop?
