Bootable media

I think I jumped on the boot media creation when he asked me, and I just created the recovery media. Now, the system tells me I may have a copy of the recovery media and will not let me create the bootable media. Is there another way to do it? Thank you in advance.

Go into the q, there is a service_done.ini or something _done.ini you can rename which allows you to create the disks again. (Display the first hidden files.)

  • HP 14-r015tx: upgrade to Windows 10 bootable media

    Hello

    I have a HP 14-r015tx running 8.1 OEM of (pre-installed) Windows Update.

This morning (12/08), I tried to check my reservation for 10 Windows. It was not.

(Oddly, there is $Windows.BT ~ a folder on C: with a BT - something.tmp size 2.78 GB file and once I realized it, my internet data had served a lot!) So, I get disconnected from the network and go to school)

At school, I copied a Windows 10 all-in-one (8-1) x 86 and x 64 ISO file (4.87 GB) from my friend. He said it contains 10 Windows Home, Pro and Enterprise (x 86 and x 64) and has not yet been touched (not pre-activated or almost).

I tried to run the file setup.exe from the ISO file, and he asks me to run the 64-bit version of Setup. So I thought I would start instead. I burned the ISO file on my 32GB USB key using Rufus 1.2.0 with properties below:

    -Disc type NTFS

    -YES bootable

    -Disk image: this ISO file

Then I restarted my PC and go to the BIOS (InsydeH2O) and together:

-Start: USB floppy/USB key > HDD internal > CD internal

    -Legacy mode: Off

    -Secure Boot: on

, and I exit saving changes. I plug my flashdisk but my PC does not start the flashdisk. (My Windows 8.1 is legitimate, it is pre-installed)

So, I tried on my friend (who is not legitimate ) and started, it started! So I guess my flash drive is OK, but my PC is not.

    So, the questions are:

    1. How do I fix this? (Start the flashdisk and install Windows 10)

    2. from bootable, can I switch to 10 Windows WITHOUT losing my license of legitimacy, files, programs & games installed, settings and everything? (The thing that changes is just Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 is what I want)

    Thanks in advance.

You must create a usb key for win 10 installation using the tool of creation of media, and then start setup.exe since in the Explorer win 8.1 in which you have booked the upgrade already and don't not starting it separately.

  • Equium L300 - bootable media fails

I have an Equium L300 Windows Vista 32-bit.

I turned on my laptop this morning to find that it wouldn't start.
After doing the recovery DVDs I've inserted into the laptop and asked format etc.

However, when he got up to a certain point in the process of "HDDPREP" the process fails due to the error: "Data error - Error creating file" now I can't start my laptop always like "BOOTMGR IS MISSING".

I need the laptop as I m a student and use for College. I can t use recovery integrated on my HARD drive. The laptop is still under warranty but don't want to have to go to the place I bought the system because they are a pain in the *. I just want to know, can I get the SUPPORT of ORIGIN without the warranty is less than 1 year. That way or maybe some other way to do it.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I'm afraid that there is a problem with the HARD drive. HDDPREP formatted the HARD drive before the start of the recovery image facilities. Why this error occurs I can't say with certainty, but is not visible HDD inside the facilities or is there a problem with the comparison of data recovery and HARD drive.

When the data structure is different, it can end with CRC error.

Please contact the nearest service provider as soon as possible. I imagine that you will get a new HARD drive.

If it is not a setting in BIOS (or the need for a new flash BIOS), I don't really know. It used to be managed by the BIOS, but since the creation of Win8, who seems to have changed.

  • Is there a download from Microsoft which will create a bootable usb media that does not have the drivers?

Original title: A bootable Windows 7 media

I work on a Lenovo 2-in-1 with Windows 7 (for games) and 10 (for a normal use) Windows to dual-boot. I created a USB stick with Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) of a legitimate Windows 7 Pro disc. The computer starts on the usb device and plays normally, however, one of the steps asks a driver for cd/dvd and this 2-in-1 (Lenovo Flex 3) doesn't have a built-in CD/DVD. All other drivers are located in a folder system. My question is, given my key Windows 7 can I create a new bootable media that does not demand drivers? Is there a download from Microsoft which will create a bootable usb media that does not have the drivers? I know that I can reinstall the drivers manually after the installation.

  • C855-1VT satellite - cannot start media recovery disk

    Hello

I have the laptop above that was dumped on its edge causing the hard drive to the jam and fail.
This means no access to the system recovery, so I ordered arvato shop Toshibas Recovery Media recovery media.

I installed a new HARD drive has slipped into the recovery disc and boom, no bootable media insert system disk.

I tried the disc on other laptops, same thing, with no bootable media, but back to arvato who kindly sent me disks replacement... you guessed it... exactly the same thing so I put in my windows 7 install cd and it read the disc properly.

Arvato said they asked toshiba to check the image which they did and found no errors, but the stock of arvato could be faulty, I thought. in any case, they offered a refund which doesn't really help.

I may be missing something so this post hoping tosh guru of you might be able to help :)

    Thanks in advance,

    Night...

    Hello

Maybe the image is OK, but the CD/DVD drive cannot read the disc of Arvato.
What you could do is to copy this recovery disk to another disk using another computer.
Then you could try to start the device using the new disc copied.
    May be worth a try.

In addition, you can try after workaround:
Go to BIOS and check secure boot settings and the boot mode.
What are the settings appear in the BIOS?

I m application because you said you could boot from Win 7 disk, in this case secure boot must be disabled and the boot mode must be set between UEFI and MSC mode.

In case you want to install Win 8 secure boot must be enabled a UEFI should be used

  • Corrupted files and queries on the Installation/recovery media

    Hey guys.

So I've had my laptop for about 2-3 years now, it is a Toshiba model of course. I really need help. Basically, I foolishly managed to download some malware on my laptop. It was a mistake that I never knew. I used MalwareBytes to rid the cell of the malware. However. I noticed that my Windows store did not at all.

So I went to the Microsoft Windows support to answer Tech to talk with someone about the issue. They found that the malware must have obtained in the system and so the file may have been corrupted. I've also upgraded to Windows 8.1 via an automatic update. I noticed that the PC settings and the store did not work at all as the files were corrupted.

Someone from the Office of response team said that I needed to have my PC manufacturer installation media - if I didn't pay for their extra support - and reset the Toshiba operating system.

Is there a way to get it? What does mean by "install media"? Can I reset my Toshiba OS to its factory condition?

    Let me know! Thank you.

    > Is it possible to achieve this? What does mean by "install media"? Can I reset my Toshiba OS to its factory condition?
Each new Toshiba notebook comes with the pre-installed operating system, what we called recovery image. This recovery image is a software which contains the Windows, all necessary drivers, tools/utilities Toshiba specific operating system and some additional software.
This recovery image is saved on the HARD drive and laptop user is able to reinstall the recovery image if there is a serious problem.
In General, this can be done using HARD recovery disk image installation. Of course, for some reason, this image of HARD drive recovery is not possible. To avoid this situation Toshiba recommend creation of recovery media. Recovery media is DVD or USB created as bootable media and can be used for recovery image installation. This media can be created to use preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator. All this is described in the document s user manuals.

Please note: when you buy the notebook this installation disc is NOT a part of the package. You must create one.
After reading your ad, I agree that the best option for you is clean OS reinstallation. How it works under Win8 you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm
Please note: after a successful updated Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows some of HARD drive recovery options are no longer available.

If there is a problem with the installation of disk recovery HARD clean there is another option: you can order the original installation disc of recovery on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

Please, check the option for installation of recovery and post comments please.

  • Satellite A50-522 - will not read bootable CD/DVD

    Hello

Hi have a SA50-522 that im trying to format and install fees the O.S.

However, the reader doesn´t seen recognize a bootable media (General or dvd´s), it shows a blank media. All other types of General and dvd´s fine work so im not sure that it s working wrong.

I ve exchanged the optical drive by two others, without success, since the bios displays an error "ide", and I know that other readers are working well in other laptops.
Since I Don t have the recovery I ve tried discs the recovery disc for a similar model, but I got a blue screen after the recovery...

Don t bios also seem to recognize usb boot, if im getting a little disappointed with this. :(

Any ideas woud be much apreciated!

    Thank you

  • Anyone know how to use the recovery Pro Yoga 2 media?

    Hey guys,.

Technical support is not useful at all. I paid $60 for some recovery disks recover my accidentally formatted Yoga 2 Pro. The disks came with no instruction, and their use is weird. First of all, there are two disks of 1, disc 2, but there is a disc 3 and 4. Support has confirmed that this is normal. There is also no prompt between 1.1 and 2 disks, so that it my best guess when spending, I can't confidently say I'm not screwing things up.

When the process is complete, the bios can not find a bootable media.

Tech support confirmed that I'm missing a small step, but won't disclose what it is, unless I pay for premium support.

Can anyone provide instructions for the recovery media? Tips or pointers you can remember when you install?

    Thank you!

Well. It seems that I solved it. Significant progress will now on recovery. The missing piece for me was that I had the bios mode of existing startup instead of the UEFI. I don't know much, other that it's another way to start, but I started Windows in this mode before. Apparently you just cannot restore in legacy mode.

What really irks me about the Lenovo support, is that the person on the phone today spoke with the technical team and immediately identified the problem I was seen as "a small step of missing", but would not disclose what it was unless I paid them an extra $60-100 (I don't remember the exact amount).

In any case, for those who are like me - here are my steps:

    1. turn off the machine

    2. press the Novo button (the small button next to the actual power button)

    3. go into your bios and make sure the UEFI boot mode is selected instead of the inheritance

4 F10 to save and exit

    5. If you have a DVD - ROM drive with the recovery media, ensure that it is hooked to restart

    6. start with Disc 1 (or the other apparently)

    7. When you've waited long enough and the progress bar seems to be not to move and your DVD - ROM drive has stopped turning, insert the other Disc 1

    8. Repeat step 7, and then insert the disc 3 to the end

9 Disc 3 will ask you when it's over

    10 insert the disc 4.

The rest of the process will occur at startup, and I am currently going through it now.

Thanks a lot for your help guys, and I hope that Lenovo reads this, because it was a terrible experience. The hardware is impressive, but I can't justify a future purchase where I have no recourse if something happens to my machine

  • HP Envy X 2: laptop recovery partition (D) merged with another partition, not be able to create a recovery media

I have merged my restore partition HP with another partition I created. Data recovery files are still intact in the New Partition. I have not created a recovery media. When I tried to create the USB Flash Drive recovery using recovery HP Manager media, I get the message that "recovery partition does not exist. How to get again the merged recovery partition and create a recovery USB Flash drive. If simply copy data from recovering files to a USB flash drive will work as a Bootable media in the case that need if in the future.

@joy1964: should not have done that.  Messing around with the OEM partition somehow good enough recovery ensures it won't work not later, when you need it.

Personally, I don't trust recovery integrated systems in any case.  You want to be able to recover from an image stored on a disk system large capacity Flash DRIVE or external.  In this way, if the disk fails, I can restore a functional system within minutes.

Consider using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect this.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

AND... you no longer have the recovery partition at all and can reuse that space for something else.

You have focused on potential problems with the hard disk have you considered maybe it's memory? If you know how to run gparted, I'm sure you can use memtest86. Make the bootable media and run a full test at startup and see if the RAM is good.

burn the Hiren s cd in order to get at least to the desktop, you need to do is to look at the drive in disk management and see if a second partition is listed on the player, that would be the recovery partition.

Here are the instructions to burn a bootable cd with the recovery console, you do not have installation cd.

Here's how to make a bootable xp recovery console cd

    Courtesy of JoseIbarra

You need start by booting in XP using a CD Recovery Console, you can do (no XP media required) and run a chkdsk with error correction command enough times until it is clean and if it does not, you can create a new boot.ini file (this is usually one of two things).

    Here's how:

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget what you have (no XP media required).

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    RC. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.thecomputerparamedic.com/?p=8    (courtesy of Daavee)

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient. If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

you will need to burn the cd from a working pc
