Bootcamp partitions not bootable with iMac 2015

Hi guys,.

I tried to install boot camp on my iMac (late 2015, Fusion drive) without success.

  • Download a picture ISO of Windows 10.
  • Point the wizard Boot camp on the image.
  • Create a partition for Windows.
  • Click install and wait until the end.
  • Restarting the computer but boots directly in OsX.
  • I can see that a new partition has been created with the fat. But it is not present when you start 'startup disk '.

All the tutorials and guides on the net seems to focus on the use of USB sticks to accommodate the installation of Windows, but I can understand, with the new iMacs installation of Windows is supposed to be hosted on an additional partition. I do not see such a partition.

Anyone have better luck than me?

Use the official guide Apple - https://help.apple.com/bootcamp/assistant/6.0/ .

You must make sure there is no storage devices external or connected hubs.

  • Bootcamp partition Windows will not start since WinUpdate

I'm working on a MacMini (mid 2011) on which a bootcamp partition has been installed. I had to work on windows update etc...

So I did update from our wsus server, and then restart Windows, windows no longer starts. There was a line of white underscore flashing on a black screen.

I tried to see if the Mac partition (10.7) was able to start. It has been altered too, but I was able to reinstall it.

on windows, I followed these instructions: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4936761?tstart=0

To do this, I created a USB bootable key WIN10 (regardless of the Version of the OS in this case), I started on it to access the repair menu. Here, I opened the CMD and had results of the thesis:

I assumed it was due to drivers for windows compatibility. (something like record of $ $WinPEDriver), but no idea how to put them on my bootcamp partition, previously never worked with bootcamp.

I should also mention, I tried a classic Windows repair, he told me that my windows partition has been locked. I assumed it was a problem of version of bootcamp. I've updated everything on my mac partition, but he found no update for bootcamp. Right now I'm preparing a bootable usb key with both 'iso' and 'windows compatibility modules' activated with bootcamp assistant.

I don't know when it happens, but now, when I try to boot on my bootcamp partition, there are only blackscreen (not slider more). But also, my screen flashes as if he finally gets the signal just before the black screen.

    I need your help for:

-Fixed problem starting Windows partition, OR...

-Give me a way to get the activation key for the license of the installed windows (without starting it (if it exists)), so I can reinstall it correctly.

  • Bootcamp partition bootable no more after the addition of another partition

Until a few days ago that my Bootcamp and OSX worked very well together. When I did my Win10 partition I created it with 64 GB of space. After a while the hard drive became too small, so I decided to add more space to him. The method that I was about to use is: create another partition 64, go to windows, mix two partitions with windows software.

After you have created the partition, I couldn't open Windows more. First he gave me the infamous "no bootable disc not found" - error and later the Bootcamp partition went in the menu selection that start with alt down. I tried several methods, I saw on the internet, but somehow I can not use the command "write" with fdisk, it gives me this error: "fdisk: / dev/disk0: operation not permitted".

Another mistake I met is: "fdisk: could not open/usr/standalone/i386/boot0 MBR file: no such file or directory" when you use the command "sudo fdisk e/dev/disk0. I tried this method (the solved by one): repair Boot Camp after having created the new partition and also some methods more I found on the internet, including some methods gdisk. They seem to all fail because the operation is not allowed when using "write".

    A few commands:

    sudo fdisk e/dev/disk0

Fdisk: could not open/usr/standalone/i386/boot0 MBR file: no such file or directory

El Capitan requires SIP should be disabled in the local food only, otherwise these operations fail. You cannot use Fdisk to correct this problem. You need GPT Fdisk (Gdisk) to rebuild the MBR hybrid. Please see Re: [help] can't start Windows (8.1) after resizing partition for example.

3 Boot Camp: resize the Windows partition.

WARNING: Do not use other applications or windows to resize your partitions. If you do, you could potentially harm your computer and prevent its commissioning.

  • Windows 8.1 with Bootcamp installed in El Capitan. Do not delete with Bootcamp so I used the disk utility. Now, Windows always tries to start with an error, the 'other' space illustrates.

Long story short, I installed windows 8.1 using Bootcamp, went very well. I was just curious how it would go.

in any case, tonight, I decided to delete the Windows partition (Bootcamp Partition), and I got an error in Bootcamp that says "sorry couldn't do Mac OS partition a new»

With that I went to the disk utility and tried to partition the disk on a partition again, which it did, but now I have 40 GB of "other space". I literally have nothing stored on this computer, until I installed Windows 8.1 which was not there.

Also, when I start it up I always get Windows start first if I do not hold Option, then it goes to the blue screen, obviously because he's not here.

I started to recover, tried to fix it, verify, erase free space, etc.. I'm running a MacBook Pro 13 "128GB 2015.

On a Mac of 2015, the disc is divided into a group of logical volumes and Volume for OS X, and a partition for Windows. If BCA fails to restore it correctly, the part of Windows do not get properly gathered in the LVG/LV. The other questions you have, it's that there are remnants of the Microsoft your EFI partition Boot code.

To solve both, the easiest and safest method is

1 backup OSX and all of your files - use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support .

    2. boot into Internet recovery (CMD + Opt + R) - OS X: on OS X Recovery - Apple Support .

    3. click on Utilties-> disk utility and erase your entire internal drive.

    4. restoration of OSX and your files - use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support .

This requires another external drive that can accommodate TM backup - backup disks that you can use with Time Machine - Apple Support .

Hi, I accidentally created a new partition on my mac OSX 10.11 and then discovered that my bootcamp would not start. After that, I deleted the partition but the disk for the BOOTCAMP partition identifier was disk0s5 instead of disk0s4. is anyway to fix this?

  • How to fix the fsck "your drive could not be partitioned..." Bootcamp does not

Hello, after days of searching for a solution and try several times to fix this, I write a question.

I want to create a partition with Bootcamp to install Windows 7. Here's what I made in the following order:

    1. Tried to partition with bootcamp, but he was only let me pick 32 GB or 1024 GB (which I did not available).
    2. Manually create the partition with utility disk and at the start of my flash, found that USB 3.0 drive / Bluetooth drivers don't would not load then ran in question where I couldn't go beyond 'select language' screen on Win 7 install.
    3. Tried to restart and delete my partition but noticed that I couldn't so I had to boot in recovery of the Internet and the use of the terminal commands and gpt, deleted the unused partition and used disk utility to merge it into main drive. I followed these instructions: deleted my bootcamp partition, but can not resize my osx partition
    4. Re-directed training camp and received the error "your drive could not be partitioned."
    5. Disc repair/check etc. ran and found errors.
    6. Run fsck by this thread that your disk cannot be partitioned. Win7 Bootcamp and still got here.
    7. Thought that maybe filevault caused outcome so disabled that. 48 hours later my 2.3 TB have been deciphered.
    8. Ran bootcamp, same problem.
    9. Run fsck, same problem.
    10. Currently using TestDisk to analyse the sectors on disk 1, correct? :

I'm ready to create another partition manual if I can get drivers USB/BT to work.

Furthermore, anyone know why there is a limit of 32 GB/1024 on the size of my partition for bootcamp? Why can't choose anything between the two?

And yesterday I don't know what I have everything in the bootcamp partition and recovery of mac has just finished after 4 hours I was relaxing and wanted to extend my bootcamp partition. • VMWare Fusion 3 is not reconizing my BootCamp partition

    Hello!

I would like to install Windows 7 on my NTFS HARD disk partition. It's cut as follows:

"Windows" (disk0s2) partition: NTFS (cut with disk using NTFS - 3 G utility)

"Mac HD" (disk0s3) partition: HFS +.

I can't use BootCamp Assistant because my disk is already cut.

And because I had problems to use it (with a disc with 1 single partition HFS +, I couldn't create a BootCamp partition, and I have enough space on the disk), I have not use it again, if I can.

The problem is that my NTFS partition is not "recognized" as a bootcamp partition.

I already have this before on my previous HARD disk, but at least my score has been recognized by VMWare Fusion.

I have already tried these 2 things:

-Boot on the Windows 7 installation DVD and format the partition

-Format the partition to FAT32 using disk utility and appointing "BOOTCAMP".

    Thanks for helping!

    OK, the good partition tables.

I re-read your original message, and it seems that you have not installed Windows again, are - this correct?

Fusion displays only the Boot Camp virtual machine, after installing Windows (it checks for the presence of the necessary boot files). So if the partition is empty, it would be logical that the merger is not show it again.

Just go ahead and to install Windows on that partition, then restart in Mac OS, and the merger is expected to see the Boot Camp partition and create the virtual computer to it.

It is possible to install Windows 7 on the NTFS partition within the merge (rather than start from the installation DVD Mac), but it involves a bit more work to manually set up the virtual machine.
