This looks like a utility Acer protect disk hard & possibly also the BIOS.  You will need to consult your manual for Acer.  You have configured a password of HDD that you are now trying to recover, by chance?  This recovery is not possible if the hard drive has been password protected.

If it was a Windows login screen then it would show your user/admin name and password entry area & would be clearly identified as a Windows form of the version of Windows being displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Please let me know if this is normal or I don't know.

    Hi mate.

First of all, you should take a look in the user manual of your Qosmio F60 and read the entire manual carefully.

You will find information on the laptop and the recovery disks.
The point is that you can create a clean recovery disc using the Toshiba recovery disc Creator called preinstalled tool.
But all this information is in the user manual too.

    Welcome them

    Hello Voger

I have created many recovery on several Toshiba laptops DVDs and never noticed anything like that. I used that brands and DVD-R discs were Verbatim or TDK.

Unfortunately I can't answer it what does this message mean, but you should try to repeat the creation of DVD. If possible try with TDK.
If the same thing happens again I recommend you recovery your laptop using recovery of HARD drive option and try to create discs of recovery again.

Sorry, but I don't see any other possibility at the moment.

  • Satellite A100 - cannot find the recovery disk to restore to factory settings

    Hello
I hope someone can help out me?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100, model PSAANA-04E005 under Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 32-bit. I am wanting to sell, but have all my programs stuff etc I want to erase files and be able to convey simple with system also when I bought. Memory (purchased January 2007) gave me a Toshiba Recovery with this power drive do something if I needed it's of course is not the case to be foundI.

Is there anyway I can fix this? All I can download etc to do this?

    Thanks heaps

    Hello

If you n t find the recovery disk more and you want to restore the original settings, ask an authorized service provider. Guys can put in order a new disc of recovery for you.
You have the address of the guy?

Alternative, you can also sell the laptop without recovery disks. Just wipe the HARD drive before selling it with the HARD drive like s boot cleaning tool Darik and nuke or some other program.

But I think you get a better price if it comes with recovery disks ;)

  • The recovery disk is sensitive to the size of the hard drive?

    Hello

I just bought my new laptop Satellite.

I have owned one of these puppies before and so I know that the Toshiba recovery disc is a ghost image.

What I did is erased the hard drive clean because it's a piece of the circuit city showroom and t couldn't trust what was out there.

I put Ubuntu on the laptop. I want to put Vista on a VM.

As you can imagine, the virtual machine would have much less space than the actual size of the hard drive (200 GB) but of course, large enough to accommodate the installation of vista and all the goodies of Toshiba.

With this all said, the image will be cough, hanging and allows me not to install during installation of the ghost due to the different size image in space? So say the laptops hard drive space, it is 200 GB, but I only allocated 50 GB virtual hard disk.

Now I don't have a version of the class my program of schools Microsoft vista legitimate business, but I would use the home premium came with the laptop and use that Toshiba had provided me.

Then, going to work, or it will not?

    Thank you for your comments.

    > I wonder what the disc labeled "Toshiba recovery disk' which is come with my new laptop that I just bought actually is then.
Don t confuse boyfriend new Toshiba with Vista OS notebooks are equipped with HARD drive recovery option. But it also contains an option to create a recovery DVD in case the HARD disk will fail.

If you buy an old series laptop with Win XP, then it might be possible that you don t have the option to drive HARD recovery, but instead, you've got a recovery disk.

As you said above; the recovery disk contains an image (I doubt it s a ghost still image) that contains an operating system Windows, Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software.

    Good bye

  • How the recovery disk creator actually works?

I read on the forum on the recovery disk creator and I'm a bit confused... in the name, it becomes obvious that he is indeed a creator, but I have no thread caught my attention which in fact is to create a recovery disk. How does it work? Of course, it is used to restore the system to the default settings, but you can make your own backup copies recovery of the State, the system is now? Or do all the recovery discs take you where it all begun so to speak...

And if I could create my own presets, restrictions on the amounts of images? And he brings with him all that is installed in the time that the image was created?

As I made clear in my previous posts, I have not bought the thing... It's in the mail. I'm just getting ready for the terrible experience of how things can go wrong when I don't have the original DVD of Windows in my hands :)

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

So many questions! I'll try to help you with unclear words.

In the latest Toshiba has delivered laptop computers equipped with recovery media. Very old computers laptop Toshiba created mainly two CD recovery and newer laptops a Recovery DVD.
This recovery DVD was in the box with the notebook.

This recovery CD/DVD contains a recovery image. Recovery image can be installed on the laptop and after that each installation of the laptop will have factory settings the same state that you have when you start your laptop for the first time.
Recovery image contains the system operations, drivers, Toshiba and utility tools and some additional software. Therefore, after you install the recovery image, you should not install drivers or additional software. Everything is done for you.

Then, new notebooks, as your Satellite Pro A300-1EA, are not delivered with a separate recovery media and all those who buy the laptop must / should create a clean copy. This copy can be used for installations of operating system further. For recovery, multimedia creation Toshiba has designed special tool and it is designed to create recovery media ONLY.

To start the tool, select the media you want to use (I recommend DVD - R), put the media in the optical disc drive and click Create.

In fact the recovery image is saved on the HARD drive and placed on the second partition in the file called HDDRecovery.
Still, there is one thing. If nothing is changed on the system, partitions, and if this folder is not removed, you can install operating system whenever you want, but without using recovery media.

It is simply procedure. When the laptop starts press F8 and you will enter the advanced startup options. The first is called to fix my computer. Enter it and follow the on-screen menu. After two stages, you will see the window with several options and the last recovery option.

So please create DVD to be on the right side of recovery.

If you have any other questions please ask. Someone here will help you for sure.

    Good luck!

  • Pavilion 4070 - us: new hard drive for the recovery disks do not work! Help!

Hi - the hard drive on my Pavilion 4070 - crashed us, so I bought a replacement - a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, 256GB drive.  The problem is that I can't seem to get the recovery disks to work, and neither Microsoft nor HP is willing to help me.  Of course, Microsoft tells me they don't give me any help for Windows7 OEM versions and HP said that my product is no longer supported so they do not help me.  This is ridiculous - I own a legal copy of Windows 7 and I can't get any help from the company who sold me the computer?

What happens when I go through the process of installation with the recovery discs, is that instead of the Windows installation continue as it is supposed to, I have "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key any."  I'm desperate, I tried two different options - one was the minimum image recovery, the other was a factory restore.  Nothing seems to work. What can I do?   Moreover, the original hard drive is not * completely * dead - I can still access most of the data on it.

  • Satellite A300 - is the recovery disk contains all the drivers?

I bought a new Satellite A300 and now I have to reinstall Windows Vista. My question is:

Through the recovery disk I already have all the necessary drivers for my computer?
What I have to download them one by one in line?

    Thank you for your help

    Ciao

    Michele

    Hello

Yes, the Toshiba Recovery disk contains all the drivers and tools for your laptop. After using the Toshiba Recovery disk, you have the same settings that you have started the laptop the first (out of the box). This means that the disc contains a picture of the factory settings.

The disc is very easy to use: you only have to boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. Windows, and all drivers will be reinstalled in a few minutes.

  • Satellite l.660-12 q - would the recovery disk rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition

Talk about confusion. Does anyone know how to get a Toshiba C660 work after the HARD drive failed and the owner has stupidly NOT followed the instructions to make a recovery disk. Will be the recovery disk (if buy you one from Toshiba) rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition and install windows 7 (original OS) and accept the product key printed on the Windows license, attached to the base of the laptop. I have read a number of suggestions, but these have been considered incorrect by others.

Surely, Toshiba must have a way to sort this problem.

    They read these messages?

    Hey Buddy

I don't think it's really complicated, that I could find all the information about the recovery procedure in the user's manual

The recovery disk must be created on the first day of purchase its recommended to create one in case something would be wrong with the HARD drive.

The recovery disk contains an image. The image is a package containing Win system, drivers, tools and all the stuff pre-installed on the notebook.
You bought the laptop and the system has already been activated so that you have need of t the key placed at the bottom of the unit.
In addition, the use of the recovery disc formats the drive HARD integer (partitions too) and set the laptop in the same condition as at the first day of the purchase.

There is also another option to recover the notebook called HARD drive recovery. This HARD drive recovery requires no recovery disk. The recovery disc HARD would be to use format ONLY partition C (System).

  • Satellite Pro A300: How to create the recovery disk

    Hello
I just bought a Satellite Pro A300 with Windows XP.
I want to know how I can or if I need to create a recovery disk that will reset the machine to its original state.
The information gives instuctions on how to proceed for the Vista machines, but not for XP.

I know that I can recover from the hidden partition, but where this is not possible, I wish I could get CD or DVD.
There is a recovery CD included product that says only: "MS Windows XP" so I guess that it does not include drivers or Toshiba Software?

    Any help appreciated,
    Thank you

    Hello

You have preinstalled software Toshiba TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator?

    Please check this box.
Using the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator you can create the recovery disk.

But if your laptop was already pre-installed with Windows XP and then a Recovery CD or DVD must be included.

Have you checked all of the items in the box?

  • Re: Satellite L300D comes with the recovery disk?

    Hello

    I don't get a recovery disk when I bought my Satellite L300D.
Does anyone know if Satellite L300D is provided with the recovery disk?

As much I know computers made from the middle of 2007 aren't provided with the operating system recovery disks. How can I find out what year my satellite is made?

    Thank you very much

All new models of laptops including your are delivered without the recovery DVDs.
Recovery image is saved in the folder called HDDRecovery on the second partition.

Akuma is right. "You need to create a recovery media using preinstalled" Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. The shortcut that you can find on the desktop. Please do so and for the creation of recovery media I recommend you to use media high quality as TDK or Verbatim DVD-R.

You can install OS using the F8 key at startup to the top. The guideline how to proceed you will find under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
Note please. This can be done if this recovery image is not modified or if you install another operating system on the first partition. the second partition can be in original condition, but this F8 option will be gone.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

  • How to restore the Satellite L25 - where to get the recovery disk

    Hello..

I tried to format my hard drive on my laptop L25, which currently has Win XP, but don't know that if I ever had a CD/DVD of recovery of the person I bought it from.

Does anyone know if this laptop (L25-s1192) contains a picture of the recovery diskette or if I can get a drive recovery somewhere or any other way to format the drive and reinstall the original content of the laptop?

Would appreciate if you could answer.
    Thank you... Amare

    Hello

Usually, the old series from Toshiba was equipped with the recovery disk and the image of Toshiba on the recovery cd.
If you have a recovery disc, then you will have to boot from that disk to start the recovery procedure.

If you don t have a recovery disk, then you can use a clean Microsoft Windows XP CD to reinstall the operating system and the necessary drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page we.
It is a portable American and you need to find US page for drivers.

  • Satellite U400 - failed to create the recovery disk - bad DVD player?

    Hi all

    I have a 13 inch Satellite U400.
Due to problems with my Softkeys, lighting and hibernation status (any help on thos would also be useful) I want to create a recovery DVDs with the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

The thing is: it starts when I have a CD in the DVD drive, but as soon as I put a DVD in (what is needed), it gives me an errormessage that said something like 'another application is using this drive or no disc recording where found in the laptop. 0D00E4-F0-00000000 error code).

My DVD player does not work properly, I can play movies and the drivers and the status is ok too.
I noticed, that error code changes, but I don't know how to get the recovery disk creator will.

What can I do? Change something in the registry?
I don't know what happened on my laptop, I bought a few months ago - new. I guess that, reset everything would bring my softkeys, lighting and hibernation status back.

So, if someone nows how to work at least one of the problems, please give me advice.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

Did you create virtual CD/DVD drives with special software? If so, remove the software completely. In addition, if you have installed burning, programs, you should check if they will be started when Windows starts and if so, disable the beginning upward. So go to start > run > msconfig > start. Here, you can disable the start of burning software (for example Nero, CD Burner XP, etc.).

And what DVD are you using for burning? I have good experiences with DVD - R Verbatim and TDK discs. These are high-quality discs and you should try it too!

Last but not least, you need to remove the upper and lower registry filters. It is always advisable to the problems of the CD/DVD drive:
    (1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
    2) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    (4) restart.

Depending on your problem with the keys to enlightenment that you should try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. This determines the buttons of enlightenment, FN keys and other special functions on your laptop. I had a similar problem with my Qosmio F50 illumination buttons and I posted something on this subject in the Qosmio forum that you should try it too!

  • Pavilion 20 all in one pc: my HP Pavilion windows desktop 20 8 does not have the recovery disk

I bought this recovery disk awhile back and it never worked to find the computer. You can here the disc is spinning inside but nothing apears on the screen. I did a hard drive test and everything came back by the way. I tried to enter my UEFI firmware settings to reset the BIOS, but I click on the option each time it gives me just a blue screen with the 0xc000000f erorr code so I can't even their.

So it seems that the recovery partition is corrupt and the recovery disc you, where ever you got was defective or not bootable data.

You will need to order HP recovery discs, if they are available.
