"Bricks" WRT310n V1

During an update of the firmware I seem to have "bricks" router.

Have you tried TFTP new firmware for the device and everything seems to be going OK i.e. I th WRT and TFTP boot begins and ends right after have downloaded you the firmware but the blue light blinks and I can't access the web administration - the WRT can be the address 192.168.1.1 ping after I downloaded the firmware until I have power cycle and then it cannot be ping until I have begin the flash process new firmware

Did I miss something?

I had the same problem but mine was because I installed the firmware V2 on a V1 and mine in brick.

I had a really hard time getting installed original firmware, but here are the steps that finally worked.

Downloaded the firmware on my laptop and put it on the root of C:\

renamed the file upgrade.bin (just to make it easier to type)

I have connected my laptop to port 1 and bring my laptop to the network with an IP address of 192.168.1.100 mask 255.255.255.0 subnet and 192.168.1.1 gateway

I opened 2 windows command prompt.

On the left side of the screen, I ran a continuous ping (ping-t 192.168.1.1)

On the right side of the screen, I place a tftp (tftp-I 192.168.1.1 PUT upgrade.bin) at the root (type c:\ and entry to get to the root) but do not hit enter yet.

I then plugged my router, press the reset and hold. Hold it until you see the ethernet port on light will turn off, he will be off for like a second or two. This will take somewhere around 45 seconds to a minute. Once I see the ethernet port out, I let go of the reset and press enter on the tftp Protocol.

About 10 seconds later, I saw the pings were successful, and then a little later I would see the successful transfer.

Then I reset the router, but this time only for 30 seconds.

Once this is done, my router has been restored completely.

Hope this works for you.

  • WRT310N Firmware failed and now I had a brick

Okay, first of all, it's my fault, and the router is a few years old.

I started having problems with my router disconnect and I have to restart. Today I decided to update the firmware.

Watch the Cisco site, it is said that if you don't see a version under the model number number, using the version 1.

I downloaded the firmware version 1, but after about 3 seconds after the upgrade of the router kicks back "Firmware Upgrade Failed".

Thus, suspecting that maybe I have version 2.0. I downloaded the 2.0 version and completed the upgrade. When he finished I got "Firmware Upgrade Successful" and I clicked 'OK', 'Restart', 'Reboot' or something like that was, button. Nothing, got good lights everywhere but no connection with anything either.

Tried the reset for 30 seconds, reset 30 seconds then unplug and then plug in the connection then give 30 seconds, then unplug and then plug and wait 30 seconds while holding down the reset button. I tried almost everything and nothing has restored this router.

The internet, ethernet port and wireless lights just Flash away. I even tried tftp image .bin for the router, but that has expired.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    OK, its working now.

I've done what link said to do, but because every attempt has failed, I did a reboot and that he noticed my ping was successful during the boot. I also changed my IP to 192.168.1.100 as it is the first available by default in a linksys router IP address.

I have no idea where the author of this article gets but 1.10 each new router begins at 1,100. Could be a typo.

So, the next time I tried. I started the tftp right until I plugged the router and about 10 seconds later, I saw good pings and poof a download successful.

    Router is now in action.

    Thanks for the replies.

My IPad 4th generation has been temporarily briquée by iOS 10.0.2. Be it finally resolved itself, but I still have questions like a shift of keystrokes and on my home screen. Any suggestions?

  • After I have updated to ios 10.0.1 my apps update bricks. How can I fix it?

After that I update to iOS 10.0.1, my apps started the update, but it brick and I can't stop the update, I can't use apps and I can't even delete apps. Please how can I fix it. It is so boring.

    Thanks for help. Kevin

First (and easiest) is a reboot or a forced reboot:

Restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - Apple Support

Next (and more radical) would be a restore from a backup, then restore it like new:

Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod settings - Apple Support

Try the following steps to solve the problem with iOS 10.

    1. Connect your iPhone to your computer via iTunes.
    2. Wait about 30 seconds to let iTunes your reading device.
    3. Click Update on your computer when you are prompted, who, "is there a problem with the [device] who forces him to update or restore."
    4. Again click the update on your computer when you are prompted, "If your [device] is unable to be updated, you need to restore it to its factory settings."
    5. Click on restore if you see «your iPad cannot be updated...» "(you won't necessarily have to restore).
    6. Click Restore and update to confirm that you want to restore your device to its factory settings.

I downloaded the update on my phone and connected to itunes via USB when you ask him of the screen. It completely downloaded, and I clicked on the iphone eject button in itunes. Now it is stuck on the screen instructing you to connect the phone to itunes.

What should I do? Install the update again?

iPhone 6s more stuck in the mode of the brick after downloading ios10. Cannot restore via iTunes. error 3014

After the update to ios10, my 5s iPhone seems to work very well. I reconnected it to iTunes and then it bricked, and I panicked.

iTunes synced a couple of times, it took about an hour and a half for me. After that it stopped its cycle of synchronization, I unplugged my iPhone - it still bricked. I then did a hard reset and it worked.

Maybe I got lucky, maybe my iPhone and iTunes need a kick in their buttocks.

  • uppdate iOS 9.3 bricked my iPad2, now what?

    iOS 9.3 COMPLAINT

I've been asked for some time updating the iOS 9.1 on my 2 32 GB iPad for version 9.3.

Apple says that iPad is working well so far and I have had no personal reason to update, but "you should always upgrade to the latest version" for reasons of security...

So I did. After that my iPad asked to connect to iTunes.

So I connected. My options were 'Update' or 'Factory Reset'.

I chose "update" a few times, but all ended in an error message (different every time).

I even tried to update via iTunes updated on several different computers.

So finally, I resorted to a Factory Reset.

The difference is visible is that now, not even my iPad ID present in iTunes when you try to connect.

It seems that the attempt to update totally and completely brick my iPad.

    Suggestions anyone?

EVIL - the _lead_me_to_believe_ just updated, it's just my iPad in brick.

Here's how I see what happened, and what didn't update to inform me.

The first question here was the download (1.33 GB) took an hour to complete with iTunes.

However, after 15-20 minutes the updater had fed up and said something to the effect that he didn't connect to the download server and offered for the update or restore again.

This message is confusing. My computer connects to everything else, so why not Apple download server. Some error messages suggest that the Hosts file needs to be reset. Why? After all, he has not presented a problem before, or for other programs. Another message (1639?) provided that the download is still in progress the idea, '' maybe. '' And it has been.

If I answer the "Connection failed" message by selecting the update again, the download continues, but since it takes an hour to complete the download, try the same the second fails with the message "cannot connect". And even a third update attempt will fail in the same way.

Instead, the update should have told me something to the effect of: "now, waited about fifteen to twenty minutes for the download to complete, so I'm getting impatient. However, I checked with my download manager and he told me that the download progress always with an estimated time of arrival in about 45 minutes. If you think you can speed up the transmission (for example...) then press Cancel and solve the problem, otherwise the update will continue. "Of course, the download page should be displayed so I could easily see the progress of the download for my part.

_knows_ iTunes as the download progresses, then what good me with "unexpected, not able to connect" messages.

(Even if the Hosts file was the problem, I think that the update might be more useful because the solution seems to be (temporarily) replace it with a standard hosts file. The path-> error message from Apple description-> Microsoft Host difficulty description-> some editor to edit a standard-> new-> Save Backup old file, seems too complex compared to just update provide the standard file hosts for me.)

The second issue was that, when the update file has been downloaded and the update of the iPad has begun some initial activity there. A result that I see is that the serial number of the iPad is most recognized (not so comforting).

In iTunes, I see "expects the iPad" (to answer, I guess).

On the iPad, I can see a greyed on the Apple logo and a progress bar is empty (I suppose, he is waiting for the download start)

My conclusion is that the iPad is ready to receive the update, but that iTunes has not yet been allowed to send.

So, I started searching the Internet for 'update stuck forever', but this time I thought I should give it an hour before I completely gave up on it.

It really looked like a situation of blocking for about twenty minutes or thereabouts - but here, the bar began filling so the update of progress could be completed.

During these twenty minutes I should have received a comforting feedback to make myself understood there was work going on in the background. I don't know what took so long. (My internet connection is slow does not affect USB download, it should?). OK, I could see some flashing lights, but I interpreted as "still establishing a connection between iTunes and iPad, or vice versa. Thus, 'always blocked.

I often pretend to my friends Apple infrastructure is robust and easy to use. But this challenge really three days I wonder if it is more valuable...

Anyway, for now I'm going back the Samsung pad I bought yesterday... hoping that Apple will respond positively to this info.

What a fantastic "update." I thought that it would be just a minor update and now my computer is entirely bricked.

It does not erase your drive. It reinstalls the software system and install apps on your current.
