bright light blending mode

I'm having a problem to flatten a file with a layer set on vivid light mode. During flattening or stamping the effect disappears - any suggestion?

Define your image 100% mode (actual pixels) before flattening

  • Blend Modes ('bright light') in After Effects?

I discovered that in After Effects CS6 (Win7) some blend modes seem to not work as expected.

I have a bitmap with transparent above other bitmap and want to mix with "bright light" - but the result is the same, as if I had no merger mode at all. It is the same for 'hard light', 'linear light' or 'hard mix.

Other blending modes like "multiply", "soft light" and "overlay" work very well.

Does anyone have an idea what's wrong with my After Effects?

If you imported the PSD file with the blending modes defined this way instead of PNG ones, AE should have created Layer Styles property group. Drilling down this ownership group reveals the property opacity of fill under Merge-> Advanced Blending Options:

In order to correct your design created from PNG files, you must export the layer with 100% Fill first, and then you add any layer Style of the layer-> Layer Styles menu (or right-click-> Layer Styles) - that creates the layer Style group property of the layer. After that, you are free to manually delete or just disable the eyeball and enjoy working with the only blending Options property group.

  • First Pro blend mode problem

    Hello.

I already used the screen blend mode to add a set of images on another game.  The first series (made in 3DS Max) were the main image for my film so that "layered" all have been made by 3DS Max as part of rendering VRay atmosphere.  The two images were dark Max.  When I added the "bunk" game I simply chose the mode of fusion screen for them and they have been added, very well.

I am now trying to achieve something similar.  This time, the first series of images are rendered to a white background.  The second are rendered VRay material rendered elements (tried white background and black - same result).  When I add the second set in a machine to separate on the timeline screen blend mode and use video slot, the result is a transparent overlay faded/patially image when there are objects in the image of 'background '.  Where there is a white background none of the top layer is visible.

I see that it is somehow mix colors/light and produce a pure white outside the objects in the scene.

    Q. How do I get the required mixture of both sets of images?

    Thank you very much

    Terry

If you return your scaffolding with alpha, black background turns transparent surface, so you won't need to use mix of modes, you simply put the scaffold and track below is seen through a transparent area.

If you have some problems with rendering with alpha, it's another story. As you asked Rick Gerard, download a sample file and post a screenshot with your render settings.

  • Hue Blend Mode Confusion

    Hello

Read on the blend mode of hue, I understand (perhaps wrongly) that, given two layers (T) op and (B) ottom, if the Mode of T mixture has Hue, then the information of hue in T will be mixed with the saturation and brightness in B, which means that the information of hue in B are replaced by information of hue in T. However, by running a series of experiments, I have noticed that when dealing with a very simple document consisting of two layers only, that affecting the tint also blending Mode changes the saturation and brightness.

Here are the steps to replicate the phenomena observed using two regular layers:

    1. Create a new blank document.
    2. Fill it with the color that corresponds to the values (0, 70, 50) HSB.
    3. Add a new layer above the existing (Normal blending mode).
    4. Fill the top layer with the color that corresponds to the HSB (230, 70, 50) values.
    5. Use the Panel information, TSL values for the document he read (230, 70, 50).
    6. Change the blending Mode of the top layer of the hue.
    7. Use the Info Panel, the TSL values for the document should read (230, 70, 50), but rather to read (230, 66, 53).

And here are the steps to reproduce the observed phenomena using a normal layer and an adjustment layer:

    1. Create a new blank document.
    2. Fill it with the color that corresponds to the values (0, 70, 50) HSB.
    3. Add a Hue/Saturation (Normal blending mode) adjustment layer.
    4. Adjust the value of shade in the properties panel for the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer at-130.
    5. Use the Panel information, TSL values for the document he read (230, 70, 50).
    6. Change the blending Mode of the Hue/Saturation layer to be dyed.
    7. Use the Info Panel, the TSL values for the document should read (230, 70, 50), but rather to read (230, 66, 53).

The results in both (for me) are identical. Am I misunderstood the blend mode of hue?

    Thank you

    Matt

The mixture goes in a model STL.

You make measurements in a model STL.

In addition, change the hue by preserving the brightness and saturation sometimes would result in illegal values - and those who have to be cut back to valid values (while preserving hue).  This will result in changes in brightness or saturation.

  • My re-creation of lightsaber - difficulties with Blending Modes

I'm reproducing the effect of lightsaber Phantom Menace. I found the following two frames:

    No dial-up power

    Screen shot 2011-09-12 at 16.52.24.pngScreen shot 2011-09-12 at 17.16.05.png

I then put my impact on this backdrop (left) and tried to get the same as real (right).

My resources are Blending Modes, solid layers (hidden) and accelerated blur.  However, I can't do it.  The best that I have proposed is the following:

    Screen shot 2011-09-12 at 17.24.27.png

The real similarity is very low, although they may look the same.  My problem is that I can't do what I want with blend modes. For example, notice how in the original version, the blue along the metal beam/band just behind the lightsaber avoids the wick around the white core - it stops here.  How did do that?  I discovered that more light color sort of realize that, but the blue eyes is so severely compromised.

Is it possible to somehow COMBINE Blend Modes?  (to get the best of both modes)

    Please can you help

    Thank you.

    Harry.

  • Has anyone ever met a strange behavior layer blend modes?

I use a little photoshop for retouching and photo compositing. Tonight, I met a strange problem. I tried create a vintage photo look and had a number of adjustment layers, including a curves, levels, fill color and there was also that some layers of texture and noise all the value of the different opacities. To the top of all of this I had a layer of tile that was black on the edges and white in the Center, on the mode of multiplication of mixture. Well, when I was clicking on and turned off, I realize that this layer of the tile was certainly lighten the central part of the whole image a little (the part which is white on the layer of the tile), almost like a screen. So I hit the thumbnail by different modes of opacity layer and saw that there was no change in his behavior, each mode has screening white, darker color and multiply. I thought that perhaps he was interacting in a weird way with an other diapers so I have not disabled all the others except the back ground - still no change. Then I dropped the layer to the bottom of the after another until it was less than the background. When I started back up again, he behaved normally for a while until that I moved it to the top of some levels in the stacking order, and then he returned to the behavior of the screen. Anyway, I mixed it autour a bit but there was no thick when it would appear correct opacity and when he wouldn't, so it doesn't seem to be any specific layer interaction. I don't know, but I don't see really no case where white multiply together should produce a lighter result even if it were interacting with a different opacity. In any case it seems to me that there is something to do with the overall calculation of the opacities. I tried to create a new layer black and white and it was also do the same, strange behavior and do not correct opacity.

I'm tired, so I'm going to bed. I'll turn off the computer and hope it goes further when I reboot, but if it isn't, doesn't that sound familiar to anyone? I'm not a regular visitor to this forum, but I thought I'd put it out there in case someone else has experienced something like this. I did that 5 gigabytes of ram on this computer and I worked there for a while... maybe that photoshop could not keep just up (?) I use Photoshop CS5, space colorimetric RGB Adobe 1998.  I never had something like this happen in the past eleven years, I've been using photoshop. Hmmm... hope I don't have to reinstall or call support or worse. I cross my fingers.

  • the blending mode settings

    Hello photoshopers.

ID would like to know if possible that the blend modes are composed by, I tend to like especially the overlay or ligh soft blending mode, is a framework for this? the reason for this is that if I tend to reduce the opacity I usually get the result right lik ethe overlay or soflight mix offers.and the reason major im trying to figyre settings, is that whenever I have a layer with a mode, merge when I merge with another layer, let the mixture, it goes back to normal so im thinking

If I know where ot see the mixture perhaps of mode settings I only use blend modes and use light, contrast, colors etc etc etc to get a blend mode emulation

    Thank you.

You may need to try different methods to merge the layers. The fact that you have about 2 layers blending modes indicates to me that there is a third layer under the two layers, that you prepare ingredients. Mix only works with a layer below, right?

Try to merge (or stamping) layers one at a time to keep the effect you like.

It would be unusual for PSD change the appearance of things, once you put it up.

Do not despair. You will find a way if you work the problem. Photoshop has many ways to do the same function.

You can find it or someone here will have an answer that clicks.

  • Can't seem to find the screen blending mode

    Hey all!

I am currently having a go at Illustrator (CS5), but he seems to lack the "screen" blend mode Or, more likely: I can't!

To my disappointment, my version of Illustrator is in Dutch and I'm not able to acquire an English version , so that the names will be a little different. (I'm DEAD for an English languagepack! Bonus points for a link!).

I watched it and it seems to 'screen' blending mode is called "anything" in the Dutch version (source: tml http://www.photoshop-tutorials.nl/Basis/Adobe-Photoshop-CS-vertalingen-Engels-Nederlands.h ). But there is no such blending mode in my Illustrator.

I have (in order, it appears on my screen):

    Normal

    Darken

    Multiply

    Engraving color

    Lighten

    Pixelation (not sure)

    Color dodge

    Overflow (not sure)

    Soft light

    Hard light

    Difference

    Exclusion

    Hue

    Saturation

    Color

    Luminocity

    Screenshot: http://DL.dropbox.com/u/9652939/Illustrator%20help%20screen%20blending%20mode.PNG

But no 'screen '! I tried all blending modes, and none of them gives the result, one would expect the screen blending mode. What I am doing wrong?

Screen seems to be "Rasteren" If you compare the lists.

  • Layer masks and blending modes

I read on the layer blending modes in Photoshop CS6: The Missing Manual, p.121.  They talk about setting exposure using the blending modes, and they show how to darken an image by using the following procedure.  (1) activate a layer, (2) create a mask of levels, (3) the blending mode of the layer to multiply the value.

My impression is that blending modes change how the pixels on one level interact with the pixels on the next lower level; that is, it implies there are at least two layers of the image.  So I'm not surprised that if I have a single layer without a mask and I change the blending mode from normal to multiply, it is without effect, probably because there is no immediately lower level to allow interaction.  However, if I have a single layer and create a layer mask, then changing the blending mode from normal to multiply darken the image.  That must involve the pixels of the layer are interacting with transparent pixels on the mask.  What?

Can someone explain what is happening in reality not here?

Use layer blending modes, you need to the two layers less.

    As you mentioned above:

'(1) activate a layer, (2) create a mask of levels, (3) the blending mode of the layer to multiply the value'

step 2 means create a levels adjustment layer that comes with a default mask if you want to make local adjustments.

in this case, if you have a layer and add an adjustment layer, it works as if you duplicate the layer.

  • Do not respond to texture blending Modes

I opened a texture in PS CC 2015.5 and CMD J to put it on its own layer. Texture meets blend modes. When I move to another image texture texture does not meet some blending modes.

I open your file and I see 2 layers. I don't understand what the problem is. you realize that for a blending mode to work, you must have at least 2 layers? the top layer will blend with the one below. You cannot mix a layer with him unless reproduce you them.
