  I discovered what it was! Hallelujah! Good so I uninstalled and reinstalled Win7 Pro like 8 times. The driver IDT High - Definition (HD) is that he was causing.

I like really a few Windows 7. Not looking navigation on Windows 8 and 8.1 at all!

  As far as I know, you can not solve simple buttons. You can remove the key caps but I put that this problem is related to the plug defective or similar then it seems that you need to replace the keyboard.

  I've had this laptop again (in 2010) and control screen brightness function keys never worked.

  All other functions working keys, it's just the f2 and f3 (light downwards and upwards) are not.

  All updates (from the site of HP Netherlands) support have been installed.

  In addition there is no brightness control of in control panel windows or which would allow control over the brightness using the mouse.

  It would be great to have control of the brightness of the screen because the screen is really bright and it is unpleasant to use in any other circumstance during the day!

• HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC: HP Envy 15 action keys works do not (F9, F10 and F11)

  My laptop has been working fine since purchase, but last week, I noticed that action F10 F10 & F9 keys (jump, play/pause, skip) did not work for their function. Before last week I could just press the key to activate, I read other posts of this forum and the answers did not work pressing fn + alt + (key action), either by pressing fn + key action. To make this work I need to access the bios screen and change the default values, but it only works when the laptop is on. If I turn the laptop, turn again he resorts right back to does not. Action all other keys work e.g. keyboard backlight, volume, brightness, etc.

• The brightness function keys work in reverse?

  Dell Inspiron B130 with Windows XP Home Edition.   The screen was black... weak image of the desktop... diagnosed as a bad inverter.  Inverter replaced, does not solve it.  Next replacement cable, does not solve it.  However after sleeping with the arrow keys and FN which adjust the brightness, the screen is back to normal.  The strange thing is the FN and the arrow keys worked in reverse... grayed arrow high and arrow made brighter down!  Very strange!

  Display worked all afternoon until what we chose another mode of power supply in power options, then went black again and have not been able to get this back even after trying all plans.

  The bios is up to date, have the latest video drivers, etc..

  This sounds like the corruption of software... the function keys works in reverse?   Reinstall Windows would fix this problem?  Someone on another forum suggested that an update of Windows might have damaged something.  ??

  I have a problem with the multimedia keys on my keyboard (Zalman K200M). However, there is no dedicated driver from the producer.
  When I installed a fresh W8.1 all the multimedia keys worked fine (mail, internet, calc, WMP control) and while they began the system default programs.

  1 * when I installed an of Comodo Dragon browser and Mozilla Thunderbird keys seem to stop working...
  Well, they work when the programs are already open ('House' opens the homepage and 'mail' will to thunderbird).
  Meanwhile, media control buttons (play, back/next) brought on player Winyl, any type of program was running.

  2 * looking for a solution, I installed the centre of keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately, it does not support my keyboard BUT just install the program made the 'House' and 'mail' buttons work - now I can open my programs from anywhere. But now the media control keys only work if the window Winyl is chosen. With WMP, they work very well.

  Uninstalling the mouse and the keyboard Center keeps me coming back to 1 *.
