Step 4. Click on Power Options

Step 5. Click on change plan next to the balance (recommended) option settings (if you use a different option click on that one instead)

Step 6. In the next window that appears, move the horizontal right to left sliders to reduce the brightness of the screen

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I seriously doubt that you will be able to get the information you want.  HP does not have to release the patterns of their owner to the public material; to obtain this information, you will need to be a HP Service Center that (since you ask US this information), you are apparently not.

You can try contacting HP Customer Support directly to see if they will help - but I doubt that they will:

  • Cannot adjust the brightness of the laptop monitor

I'm not sure when this problem started, but I'm guessing it's when I've updated my graphics driver (Nvidia) or software of the chipset (Intel).

After a while, I noticed that my brightness keyboard shortcuts were not working, but other hotkeys (touchpad, volume, sleep, wi - fi, bluetooth, etc.) were still working.

Since I use my laptop for most on my desk with the max brightness settings, I ignored it for a while.

When I happened to use up the outside of the battery, the monitor went automatically minimum brightness settings.

I tried to find the brightness slider in the control panel or the mobility Center, but they have been missing.

The options for the Adaptive brightness disappeared as well.

Now I don't see a way to adjust the brightness of my.

I tried a variety of suggestions available on the web, including:

    create a new user account,

    validation of account information,

Remove and reinstall the driver for the monitor,

search for 'brilliance' in the start menu,

    re-installation of software hotkey,

rolling back the graphics drivers and chipset (from those provided by the manufacturer).

I spoke with a Microsoft support for topic a couple of hours, still no luck (he was very nice anyway).

If anyone is suggesting the control panel Windows or Nvidia color grading, I don't mean for those, since I need to adjust the brightness of the backlight of the screen, not software-ish of calibration of the colours on the screen.

I use Windows 7 Ultimate on CLEVO M860TU with monitor Chi Mei N154Z1-L02

I am looking for a way to restore the brightness sliders, or at least to adjust the brightness manually.

When I had to happen, I was able to restore by doing this:

    (1) open Device Manager

    (2) right click and uninstall the monitor (not the graphics driver, but the monitor specifically)

    3) click on the "Scan for new hardware" button on the toolbar above

    (4) try to use the brightness slider functions once again (either in Center of energy or mobility settings).

Has worked for me, I would like to know if it helps you too.

  • Recommendations for the second monitor (27 in.)

Hi - We are through to PC iMac27 some of our offices.  Currently, most of our Dell ups have double monitors because we usually inventory or manufacturing software open on one monitor and email on another.  Or their variants.

I noticed he had discussions in the past, but nothing too recent, and I guess that this kind of things always evolving.  Google searches to discuss some, but:

can anyone suggest a decent price monitor (under $ 400) that I can match up with the iMac 27 "?

I am particularly looking for those who have white or brushed aluminium chassis - or at least a 'mac' look like.

Mac Thunderbolt screens seem great, but $ 1,000 each, they are off-budget.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

They are also be abandoned once the current stock is depleted.

Much will depend on the resolution and the size of the screen, but there is none

specific "Mac-like" monitors.  The best is to check which providers

propose and see what is acceptable to you.

  • Unable to set the resolution of the screen for an external monitor

I'm trying to set up an external monitor to Asus to mirror my iMac 27 "new using a HDMI > Lightening connection, but using the monitor preferences, requires both screens at the same resolution. The Asus monitor is smaller, I'm looking for mirror to a proper resolution to the screen (that I can actually read!). From what I gleaned on the web until now, so it should be easy - and now I think it has to do with the HDMI connection on the monitor. Any advice would be much appreciated!

You will need to disable mirroring.

  • Satellite A100-02 b PSAAR: trick to be able to save for the multi monitor users

    Hi, people

I always use an external as extension of office monitor when I connect my Tosh to AC.
And I just found out, when I plug it all and go truly mobile, the graphics card still provides a signal to the VGA Port for the then nonexistent extern monitor.

On my Satellite A100-02 b (PSAAR) that consumes about 2 Watts, which means about 10% of the duration of battery life, which is about 20 minutes!
So, if everyone did the same thing
-Place a link on your desktop or startmenu to 'C:\Windows\System32\control.exe desk.cpl"to have quick access to the settings of the monitor
    -turn off the monitor 2
    - and enjoy longer battery life!

It's on my Vista, I don't know how XP performs...

    Hello

Thanks for the very useful info.
I think it could be very useful for everyone who uses batteries very often.

  • HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF: HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF: using VGA and DisplayPort simultaneously for double configuration monitor

If the title says it all. I'm trying to set up two monitors on my HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF. Here is my configuration:

    1. first monitor (Acer B223W) lights DisplayPort and displays things normally.

    2. second monitor (HP LP2065) is on the VGA port.

The problem is that my second port monitor never gets a signal from the machine and going to sleep mode. Connect the second monitor changes my main screen at a desk empty (no icons, no taskbar, just a plain painted paper), which I believe means it tries to use my VGA monitor as main display.

However, the VGA monitor never seems to show anything. I spent my main screen on the first monitor successfully too, but is not all about him either.

  • Get the error code 80070005 when trying to get windows update for HP w2207 Monitor wide screen.

I have a Compaq Presario SR5410F computer with a large screen Hp w2207h with windows home premium and service pack 2. The computer is about 1 year and 3 months. About 6 months ago, I have an update of windows for my monitor and it failed several times when I tried to install it. I got ahold of someone at microsoft but never got an answer to my problem. The person finally told me to hide the update so it wouldn't keep trying to install. Now I have another update to my monitor and it will not be installed. All other updates installed fine. When I try to install, I get failed and the 80070005 error code.
Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem? Sure would appreciate it.

The post directly above it, the journal of Kateyes, has the following questions:

1 looks like there is a proxy or some sort of 'intermediary' between the Windows Update software and internet.  Usually, it is a kind of dial-up, or download accelerator software or maybe internet software such as content filtering (parental control).  If you have any of these please disable and try again.

    2. you may have a proxy configured incorrectly.  Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools / Internet Options / Connections / LAN Settings button.  Here, uncheck the "Use a Proxy Server" if it is checked.  Otherwise, uncheck the box for "Automatically detect proxy settings" and close IE and try again.

    3. the problem could be another connectivity type of questions, please try the suggestions in this article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941 - make this one article first, very good on this type of error
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-error-80072efd

I hope this helps.  The question is purely related connectivity, so something related to the internet connection does not work correctly.  It probably isn't and issue with your ISP, but more with the settings of Windows or other applications installed on your computer that are at the origin of the conflict. Hello, I just bought a new processor & Win and am having problems with my monitor H233H. During a cold start the monitor not acknowledge a connection with the new CPU until I turn off the power button on the monitor. When the monitor restarts - Acer appears - then it goes directly to my desktop - everything will be good until it lights up my screensaver. Then I have to turn off the monitor again.

I see the driver site Acer that a Vista OS is listed for this monitor. Is there an another monitor driver that support Win7 I might have better luck with?

    Thank you!

    Solved the problem...

Bought a new 27 "AOC montor. Pluged into the HDMI and things were Golden. I don't understand why Acer failed to write a new driver code for a monitor that was purchased in 2010 for Win 7?

Makes me do not want to go back on the road to Acer.
