  I am a Sri Lanakan. Last week, I bought a Blackberry Storm2 9550 used, eBay (from a seller of e. u.). All the functions work fine except the touch screen. Can press on the touchscreen. (edges and around the screen) But he get caught suddenly, and also when am pressing an icon, phone highlights another icon. (as axample, when am pressing contacts in the home screen, phone highlights two contacts and sms). As I suppose, at this time there the phone detects it as multi touch and so I can't support what either. When am reset (battery pull) the phone, it solves the issue for a few minutes or hours, subsequently faced the same question.

  I tried to fix it by putting a piece of paper to the battery cavity, but nothing has changed.

  My storm is an unlocked phone (Comes to Verizon, but later unblocked), which is running version 5 software. ...... . 713 fact in Mexico 5.

  None of these remedies could work. Without practice, it is impossible for me to know anything 100%.   The other appears only if your carrier has eliminated an update wireless for you. You say that it is the "best way" for you... I would add that this is the MOST DANGEROUS way.   There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

  Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

  • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  There may be a code updated to the value of the carrier - check out them through this Portal:

  The toughest possible causes are a bad application behave. To find it, there are two options. Is to see if you can read the log file:

  Go to the home screen. Hold down the ALT key and type "lglg". (You won't see anything as you type). This will bring up the log file. I tried running messagelistener, sendlistener and outboundmessagelistener, but something did not work well. So can someone please help me to solve my problem?

  FYI: 1. I've implemented outboundmessagelistener but couldn't find a way to add this port for listening to my request.

  2. I set up sendlistener and added to my application of the method SMS.addSendListener which does not also carry out my requriement.

  Hey there. I apologize if this has already been answered, but I search through the forums and have not yet found an answer.

  I have a Torch 9800. Since I got it, I noticed that, sometimes, the messages will appear in my Inbox. My phone will ring when I received it, and I'll have the 'new messages' icon on the home screen, but clicking on the messages icon that leads me to an empty Inbox.

  I noticed this behavior affecting the e-mail (my gmail account is the only one that I have will the blackberry), messages text and two customers different third-party chat.

  I have no message filtered to different folders, or something like that.

  By clicking on "View file" check my Inbox is selected.

  But that's where it gets weird: if I compose a new message and send it, when I go back to the Inbox, all messages are displayed.

  It's almost as if the Inbox is having a problem displaying the list of messages, but as soon as I push a new element to display (message sent recently), shocked it back to life.

  Any ideas?

  Manual device OS upgrade instructions:

  1. start by searching for your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.

  3. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

  4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

  5. This step is not necessary unless there is a problem on the next steps. Use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a full backup), then after you get the 507 error (no OS installed) then proceed to step 6

  6 remove the internet connection for PC and reboot the PC.

  7. plug the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.

  I found out why the screen blank sometimes after a few weeks.

  When you put the BlackBerry smartphone ON the case. Then, the profile changes in mode 'IN THE HOLSTER"that has locked the keyboard and the screen black. When I now use the silicone case, it doesn't happen.

  I replaced a torch, 9800, with a replacement unit. Everything seems to work except the icons at the bottom of the bbm screen. They are normally 'send', see the contact info"etc. However, I just show a single star in the bottom middle where the icons should be. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you. John

  I've been a user of Razr for quite a while and am very close to having bought a BlackBerry Curve of Alltel. Before I do, I really have your contribution to this:

  Because I spend a LOT of time making phone calls and work in a noisy environment, the earphone volume and clarity are VERY important to me. I'm not sure if the curve can give me the benefits of a great smartphone AND a great phone in terms of call quality.

  Can you give me your opinion on the earphone volume and clarity compared to the Razr (I currently use V9) and also if you think that because the tip is located a little further from your mouth against a flip style phone that it might cause problems in a noisey environment. Ive had before cell phones, which were weak in terms of call quality and its REALLY frustrating.

  of all the greatness that is my BB, the listener and the quality leaves much to be desired.  If the volume is too high, cracking bad.  I use it mainly in the car and have bluetooth through the stereo, so in the car, it is not a problem for me.
