    I have a new toshiba Tecra R10 - 10J
I went down to windows XP

Even though the documentation says nothing, I found the thin slot; (it's behind the battery) I put my sim card inside (this sim card works in a usb key with my 3G provider).

In Device Manager, the toshiba F3507G broadband shows 3 times:
    in network cards
    in the com ports
    in modem

But when I run the wireless toshiba (version 5) Manager, nothing is known.
He doesn't seem to see the slot and the device (the shortcut key is also well-positioned to plug brodband)

I've updated the drivers and firmware from the toshiba website: still the same problem.
I looked in the Bios: nothing is displayed regarding the brodband modem.

I don't know what else to do?

    Thanks for your help

    > But when I run the wireless toshiba (version 5) Manager, nothing is known.
    Please post the error here.
Say the WM? "No modem found"? or "Radio OFF"?

BTW, did you also install the Toshiba value added package?
Also, the RF power control utility must be installed.
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
It is essential to get the 3G correctly to work.

    > I looked Bios: nothing is displayed regarding the brodband modem.
    It is correct.
There is no entry in the Bios about 3G.

  • Tecra R10 - 10J: BIOS update abandoned "this computer is not supported.

    Hello

    My laptop is a Tecra R10 - 10J PartNumber PTRB1E-00D002FR, 1.40 BIOS version 11/13/2008.

I recently bought and installed two modules of 4 GB RAM (8 GB). Enter the BIOS setup, I found 8 GB. Windows 7 64 bit also detects the 8 GB, but uses only 3.80! MemTest and diagnosis of CPU - Z are good for all of the 8 GB. I went from RAM modules from one location to another, but nothing has changed. If I replace a module of 4GB by a 2 GB memory, Windows 7 uses 5.80 is going well. Same result as any module of memory of 4 GB or slot I use.

I suppose that problem comes from the BIOS. The 1.40 version does not support memory mapped IO functionality.

So I followed the instructions on "http://fr.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/?download_drivers_bios.jsp?" to find the last good package to update BIOS for Tecra R10 - 10J. I downloaded and ran the BIOS310?. exe, but received the error message "this computer is not supported"?

Can someone tell me how to upgrade my BIOS or did someone has a better idea to activate the full 8 GB of RAM support?

    Thank you for all!

    Hello

You must install the VAP (value added package) or if this package is already installed, you must reinstall/upgrade to update it.

Disable the Antivirus software and disable things of security such as firewalls etc.

    Hope that you're lucky...

  • Tecra R10 - 10J - BSOD if I use WiFi

I have a new Tecra R10 - 10J. I installed Windows XP directly with the recovery disc, so I never used Vista.

At the beginning I had problems getting 3 G to work, it is now OK. But I have another question unresolved: Blue notebooks accidents or restart randomly when I'm connected via wifi.

I did three things to run:
-upgrade to the new version of BIOS, which is: 1.50
-updated the last driver WiFi found on the website of intel: Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN driver 12.4.3.9 version
-J' have also disabled in Device Manager the ability for the system to border/shock the wifi device (I found these tips on some forums because of driver Intel WiFi Link 5100 is not not reliable).

It seems to me that theses stocks have made things better. Blue screen are less frequent but they still happen. I also thought, there may be a conflict with the 3G device, so I have alwals turn off 3G using the shortcut when I'm on wifi. However, it crashes from time to time.

I'm beginning to wonder if there may be a hardware problem?

    Thanks for help.

    Hello

You also update the driver 3G or only the WiFi driver? I think you should try to update this driver too.
Check the Toshiba site for an update!

And can you please send the exact code of BSOD? This is very useful to identify what is the cause. In addition, you can search on the Microsoft KB for this code.

    I hope I could help a bit.

  • Tecra R10 - 10J - card reader does nothing

    Hello world

I have a tecra R10 - 10 days with a Windows 7 32 bit installed. I installed the latest driver for the card reader (ricoh driver for Windows 7 32 bit). In my admin panel, it says that the SD reader is correctly installed.

When I insert an SD (standard SD or SDHC) card it does nothing. I mean it doesn 't create a new icon in the control panel of my computer. I checked the battery management. The controller card is 'activated '. I also have the latest bios for TECRA R-10 10J.

    Any help?

    Hello

Which cards you are trying to insert? I have good experiences with SanDisk SD and SDHC cards. For my camera, I use San Disk Extreme III SDHC card. A high quality map which s and never had any problems with it.

Also have you checked Windows Disk Manager? Maybe the card appears in the list but not also formatted.

  • Problem with module 3G Tecra R10 - 10W

    Hello

    I got a new Tecra R10 - 10W a month ago.
Until yesterday, the 3G module worked fine. This morning I got a blue screen on the end of Windows. After the computer restarts I heard the tone of conecting/disconecting some USB device several times. After the short survey, I found my 3G module enabling / dissabling every few seconds.
In the control panel/phone options and modem, I found two modems broadband TOSHIBA is on COM3/COM4, 'away', or 'Non-functional '.
I installed all the new software up to date, as it was shown on Toshiba TEMPRO, bur after that restart the computer got the same result.
Later, I had Windows termination screen again.

Please let me know what is the problem and how to solve?

    Best regards

    Hello

Something seems to be confused at the top on the system
Maybe it was a new update reported by Tempro. Who knows.
Always is it that there is an error in device (3G) in Device Manager

I think you should simply remove the 3G (high-speed modems) module from the Device Manager and reboot the laptop.
After the new reboot the operating system should recognize the deleted devices and should install it again
In most cases, it helps to solve these problems

But if you're not going to succeed, I recommend uninstalling the software from the 3G module, then you must clean the BONES and the registry with a free cleaning tool (i.e. CCLeaner).
Reboot several times to ensure that everything has been properly cleaned and finally try to reinstall this software again

    Mate good luck

  • Tecra R10 - problem unusual TFT screen

My Tecra has developed a problem where a column of pixels seem to shimmer. Pressing the bevel directly under the affected screen area solves the problem but temporarily. Looks like something is loose - but what?

    Some things I noticed/tried:

-Occurs in different operating systems and even on the splash screen
N ' appear on the external monitor
    -Is not associated with heat
-Is happening in different parts of the screen (even if a section is particularly prone to it)
-Usually affects a section of the screen abot 3-4cm wide and goes from the bottom to the top of the screen

    Any ideas/thoughts?

    Thank you...

    Hello

Depending on your diagnosis, it looks like a display problem.
It of not a problem of graphics card because the external monitor seems to be OK.

I don t think that something might be loose (cables, inverter fl, etc.)
I think that his display, but of course, it's my personal opinion

Perhaps a technician should take a look at this screen.

  • Upgrade CPU on Tecra R10

I wonder if someone might be able to answer a question for me.

I have a beautiful Tecra R10-11 b and he's been very good for quite a few years. It works under Win XP and did everything he asked without problem.

I want to know, however, is if it is possible to mount a faster processor. I have a suspicion that the installed processor can be fixed permanently and is not replaceable, but I'd like to know.

I had played with the idea of replacing the P9400 Intel Core Duo with something a bit new, so maybe install Win 7 and more memory. There are 3 GB of ram installed.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Parkman

The CPU is bad, which means that the processor is removable.
But important fact is that the manufacturers of portable don t CPU upgrade support.
One of the main reasons is the BIOS which is especially modified by the manufacturers of cell phones.

But let's start with a few basics:
The CPU must be supported by the BIOS and chipset.

So let's ' s check what CPU would be taken in charge by Mobile Intel GS45 Express Chipset, which is part of the Tecra R10 - 11 b
Here on this page of the Ark from Intel, you can find compatible processors
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/35505/Intel-82GS45-graphics-and-memory-controller-hub#@compatibility

But even if the chipset would support new CPUS, some compatibility issues may appear because of the BIOS.
However, the Intel Core 2 Duo CPU (Penryn Montevina) processor have been equipped in different models of R10, so probably other Intel Core 2 Duo processors are supported.

By the way: the RAM can be upgraded up to 4 GB of RAM

  • Tecra R10 - TPM is locked after the wrong password

    Hello

I already turned on TPM on my Toshiba Tecra R10. Problem is that I entered wrong password so the secure TPM is locked, it is possible to unlock the TPM without waiting several hours (automatick unlock the TPM)?

    Thanks for any response.

    Dalibor

    Hello

Have you checked the "TPM guide information line" in the folder utilities Toshiba?

I found this info on TPM:
TPM offers a feature to create and define the multiple encryption keys, certificates, and passwords.
Once set, make sure that the passwords are carefully stored and encryption of files is saved! If these settings are lost or forget, encrypted using the TPM module files cannot be decrypted and encrypted data is not accessible!

I think that if you forgot the password and didn't create a token, then you will not be able to rest the password.

But check the line of TPM information guide that should be stored on the laptop.

  • Tecra R10 - TrueSuite Access Manager doesn't work with IE8

Fingerprint software does not start after you install Internet Explorer 8 in my Tecra R10 TrueSuite Access Manager stops working that is when I open a site that requires the login/password.

I've updated the TrueSuite Access Manager to the latest version 2.5.28.0 but the problem remains. From the console to access the password Bank Manager the program stops responding.

Operating system: Vista Bussiness 32 bit
    Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18702
    TrueSuite Access Manager: 2.5.28.0

Does anyone have an idea of the problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Have you tested with IE7?
Did this happen using the preinstalled Toshiba OS and Windows with IE7?

If this n t happens using the IE7 while there may be a compatibility issue between the two parties; IE8 and TrueSuite Access Manager.

  • Don't you entering video using Skype on Tecra R10

    Hello

I do not receive incoming video on Skype, even when connecting to another pc on the same local network.
The snapshot works very well, so the connection is there, and my own miniature video is also correct.

When I resize or move the window of Skype I get a mess of windows that overlap doesn't refresh, so for me it wrong to suggest in the Intel 4500MHD video rendering.

I tested several PC, ISP, networks, Skype 3.8 and 4.0, and the constant is the Tecra R10.
The drivers are up to date with own drivers of Toshiba (7.15.10.1527). Anyone has the same problem?

    Hey Buddy,

If you start the computer after turning off your laptop hangs on a certain point? What is exactly different for restart?

For Windows it's not important if you stop or restart the computer that of the same. I can only imagine the laptop hangs on the Toshiba BIOS screen, is this correct?
