Broadcom - Win 7 and several wireless adapter laptop

Almost 2 years (against HP/Compaq conventionaladvice), I upgraded my Presario R4012 of Compaq with XP to Windows 7 and after modification of some drivers it works fine since... until a few weeks ago.  I use Verizon Fios Internet and had my upload and download speed service rose 35 / 35 Mbps, several months ago.  Around the same time, I changed my security type of WPA2-PSK routers.  Since that time I had a significant reduction in the speed of the network.  Sometimes it is excruciatingly slow.  I called Verizon and after a few tries, they said it was my laptop and contact the manufacturer. I realize that they tell me to go back to Windows XP and they will be happy to help you! ) As I said, they do not support Windows 7 with this old machine.  In any case, my original wireless network card driver included a Broadcom 802. 11 b/G with Speedbooster.  I currently use a Broadcom 802.11 G driver 8.30.21.0 dated Date version 01/10/2008, which is the latest version and it worked well until the recent changes.  I ran evaluator of internet connectivity of Microsoft, and he said: I'm supported for Vista/Win 7 autotuning. I have fooled with changing the settings by autotune but have it currently set to 'normal '.   I should get speeds in the largest 10 Beach Mbps and very rare occasions I do when you use speedtest.com, but most of the time I'm less 0.20 Mbps and, frequently, time-out on some servers when downloading material. Driver for my card would be the problem?  I suspect it doesn't work well with the type of security of the router I recently modified.  Where should I go from here? Is there a driver that I could install tocorrect the problem?

Blue_Brain, thanks for the suggestion on WPA - 2. For more information, I also upgraded Toshiba my wife from Vista to Windows 7 and his cell phone does not have this slow using the same type of security on the same router. I'll get back to WPA - 2 to WEP on my router and see if that has an effect on improving my speed of network on my laptop but I don't really see this as a good solution because it reduces a preferred security level. I saw the impact that the new or different versions of drivers for my card could support WPA - 2, or at least support it better.  I go back to the type of security and to communicate my results the next day or two.  Perhaps you or others might have ideas on changes of driver for my Broadcom card.

  • Lack of wireless and wireless adapter led remains Orange. Help

Dropped my laptop, nothing broken, but now my wireless adapter is missing and cannot be found in the Device Manager or the wireless connections screen.

My wireless button is orange instead of its normal blue light and clicking it does not change it to blue light.

Everything that is displayed in the network card in my device manager is my ethernet (Realtek RTL8102E/8103E family PCI) and not my wireless LAN that allows to display.

Also, the wireless adapter is not found in the---> Mobile PC Control Panel---> adjust commonly used mobility settings. HP Network Assistant also does not work, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled.

At the start screen, I get a notice indicating that the Wireless Module is not found.

Here's what I did so far, but without success:

    (1) upgrade to the latest version of the BIOS
    (2) Made that wireless LAN is enabled in the BIOS screen
    (3) guarantees that there aren't any errors in the network adapter in Device Manager
    (4) ensure disabled in power management in the Device Manager
    (5) downloaded updates of wireless network card driver
    (6) restoration of the system to a working condition previously.
    7) opened the back of the computer on which the wireless module is and reinstalled it just in case he moved his place when the laptop has fallen. I did it by unscrewing the wireless module and back into position.

I did this and my wireless adapter is still not found. If she showed upward then at least I can turn it on if it had become invalid, but this is not yet the case. Outside, nothing is broken. So I have no idea on what to do.

    Please, please, please help.

    Hello

    Perform a hard reset

1 disconnect all devices and remove all USB devices and multimedia cards.
2 disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery and then press in and hold the button for at least 1 minute.
3 reconnect the power adapter (do not connect the battery), press the switch and check is this problem is solved or not.

When it will not work then try to unmount and mount the wireless card.

My plug-and-play wireless adapter is not recognized by the computer (but he did more earlier today before installing Windows 7). So I was wondering if someone can help me? On my laptop when I go to the networks and together a new network, there is an option to set up a WIRELESS CONNECTION. Can someone help me please? I can't afford $ 80 to tell what drivers to download.

Thanks and + karma to one who can help me solve this problem.

Most often when a device does not work, it's because the driver has been corrupted.

    Dear friends,

I need your help. I have a laptop Toshiba series 200, Vista operating system, and I encounter the following problem:

From time to time, without thread in my laptop disappear (the light goes out and the wireless adapter disappear from the list), the wireless connection is lost, and I have to restart my computer several times to recover the pilot. Sometimes even by restarting the computer does not resolve the problem and I download the driver on the Toshiba web site but then I must perform the installation of several times before I can do the job.

I called Toshiba helpdesk and told me that it is a known problem with Toshiba and that they do not have a solution.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

  • Belkins wireless adapter recognizes not all wifi networks

I have a Belkins wireless adapter for my pc and try to connect to a wireless network. My adapter recognizes not all wifi networks and I know that there is on the functioning of the House. How can I fix it?

Laptop?  If you know that there is a wireless network in your home because the other computers are connected to him, the most likely cause is that the wireless adapter is disabled (a physical switch or a combination of keys Fn + Fkey).

For additional help, please indicate the make and model of your computer (and your wireless adapter, if it is not integrated), as well as the version of Windows you have, including the service pack.

  • Connection to an internet home wireless and wired, wireless or ethernet

Hi, I reinstalled Microsoft WIndows XP Professional Service pack 2 on my computer that I needed a new start. but now I can't seem to connect to a wireless network in my house or via the ethernet RJ75 cable, I think how ever that the wireless card is now broken, but that shouldn't stop the Ethernet to work. in any case, I tried to connect to a net work through a wizzard, but it does not, even if I plug the ethernet cable, there is a confirmation light next to the plug as it should, but no confirmation on the acctual screen.  usually on the lower right side of the display there are usually a picture of two computers one in front of the other, but who isn't here either.  I hope someone can help.

    Thank you

You must install the device drivers for the Ethernet port and a wireless adapter.  If you do not have their share on site, you will need to download the drivers on another computer on a USB or burn it to a CD.  It is better to get them from your computer manufacturers web site.

You may also need, or should get the most recent and display drivers for your sound card, adapter, etc.

  • Wireless adapter is missing. Now under 'other devices '.

    Hello

I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell Latitude E6420. My wireless adapter is missing. The only way you can find it is through the device and then Manager, it appears as 'Other devices' - 'Network controller' with a yellow sign - Code 28. I tried to have the driver update system - he finds nothing. I also downloaded newer versions of Intel and Dell - nothing. If I force it to do manually (I would locate etc) then I get a blue screen.
I started the computer off a Linux LiveCD and the wireless adapter works flawlessly.
I ran out of laps. Would appreciate any help on what to do (short of reinstalling Windows, I really want to get to the bottom of it without it).
    Thank you very much.

    Hi JoqngclyE0,

Thanks for your reply. In my case, it's different. If you read my original post, I say that I tried to start up with a Linux LiveCD and it resumed instantly wireless card. It is clear to me that this is a Windows problem.

Please keep in mind that my computer is a Dell, so nothing to do with these HP problems. I'm sure reinstall would fix things, but there is no guarantee that the problem will not happen and I don't want to have to reinstall on the one hand, and on others I like to think I'm rational and I understand why things happen.

No help from anyone, really appreciated.

    Thank you

I'be been on the net looking for an answer requarding my Linksys E3000 router and my card adapter Mini PCI Dell/Broadcom DWLAN (DraftN) haf installed on my laptop Dell Inspiron N7010 XL 17 R and the inability to configure the card so he gets the same speed-172 wireless MBps_ as does our HP Vista Home Premium SP2 Laptop and Desktop! Yes, I spoke with Dell who seem to think that all their problems Tech and resolutions can be found with their technicians of the Manila-based Super (Word of warning-do NOT enter into the world of the concierge program of Dell Tech who, after having been assured it is based in the United States, I agreed to be a beta tester and lost my harddrive despite numerous attempts to stop the technicians to access remotely to do stupid things - but the new live Webcam and learn the hard drive but got none of my software original Dell with it as promised, too - another story). In any case, after playing with the DWLAN share of Dell said they question-nope Linksys ' cuz of course my other two computers would be quick at the speed they do. So I get ahold of Comcast, who of course told me, it's a matter of DELL. My problem is with the speed I found all kinds of tips for use between Comcast Modem and Linksys router to make your network hum. What I want for now is someone to tell me how to configure this adapter on this Dell computer, so it does the job, it should. I have a program of diagnosis with her and from what I see, I must get off channel 1 as there is too much interference, but before I go and change the settings of the router, I want the adapter to work - especially since it's about 100 Mbps slower than our other wireless adapters. Does anyone know what should be the correct settings for this DWLAN 1501 or that I now need a new adapter in this laptop as well? Thanks for your help.

    LindaSView

    Hi Linda,.

Have you tried to forget an instant wireless and bypass the router and cable connect directly to the modem to see if you get the speed you want in this way?  Yes, I know that this means to temporarily suspend the internet connection to the local network and also means the creation of a special no wireless connection for this computer.  But it could help determine if the problem is the computer and the router or wireless adapter - which excluding at least.

If it works fine, then you can pass the wireless problem.  Otherwise, if it is still slow with a direct link, then you may need to consider another problem is involved and the router and adapter can actually be very well and you need to focus on all that is the bottleneck.

I'm suggesting this to eliminate the possibilities that can be the underlying cause, while you spend your time on the development of bad (although I admit that I think that you are right and it is more likely - it can be useful a test just to be sure).

    Good luck!

I have a laptop HP dv6-6c10us with a Broadcom 802.11n wireless adapter.  It worked fine on Win 7.  When I upgraded to win 10, it has stopped working.  The driver has not been updated since 06/02/13.

Until the driver is updated by Broadcom or HP, this computer is now a desktop computer.

Any suggestions on how to get the adapter wireless on Windows 10?

I recommend you to go back and do a system restore to a point before started to install the automatic updates, and where worked the wireless.

Then download this tool that stops updates to install automatically.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3073930

Hide all of them and then install one by one until you find the one that is to destroy the wireless connection.

When you have found the culprit just hide it again and it will not be installed.

You can create a system restore point each time you install an update.

Tedious, but you should get where you want to be.
