BSOD stop when in Windows 7

Hello

I use a gateway PC (~ 3 years) running under Windows 7 (64-bit) and for some time now, the computer sometimes has problems of closure, it happens usually when the computer has been for awhile and will himself to sleep. Wake up, to help, so going is to close, the sticks of the computer on the "Stop" screen for about 10 minutes, then will come a BSOD (DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE), and then the computer restarts itself and view the secure mode / beginning of screen normally. This problem occurred for a while and this morning I was able to recreate it by letting fall asleep by himself, then stops.

Based on things I read, I had the auditor tool that works, but I had no luck with that. Any ideas as to what is causing the problem here? It's really annoying and embarrassing. Any help is greatly appreciated, and if additional information is needed, I can provide it.

Happy holidays and thank you!

Justin

    It depends on the timeline.  If the scanning and cleaning of malware that you listed was made after February 12, then you can still be infected due to the restoration of the system.
    Therefore, I would say that you are running an analysis of potential threats, before installing the updates.   Also, take a look at this sticky post:

  • Sound stops when the window is not active

    I have an above (VO) voice that reads the text on a screen. As the VO happens at certain points (cuepoints) more text appears. I have a glossary of popup (dialogMIAW) that appears when the user clicks on a word in the text. So far so good. If the user clicks on a Word and the glossary opens the text continues and cuepoints are points are achieved more text appears. In other words, the program continues - which is what I want. BUT when you click on a button in the glossary of close, sounds and text stop - this is not what I want. I don't know why this happens because in this glossary MIAW are word hyperlink that the user can also click on that open upward more Windows Glossary - just like I want. It's the close button which seems to stop the sound and inturn the text (as a cuepoint is no longer reachable). This could be the cause and how can I make the noise from the stadium to continue even if the user clicks the close button?

  • Windows Mail stops when I use the spellchecker

    Windows Mail sometimes/often stops when I use the spellchecker.  There is no obvious reason or a consistent trigger I can find.  I lost the email I typed.  I would prefer not to have to record every email in my drafts before I check spelling it.  How can I fix?

    Hi Holnee,

    Looks like you can have something in the background, interfere or that we would need to check the system for any problem files.

    The first thing you can do is to check your system for any possible infection such as a virus or spyware. Do a full scan of the system and see if you find infections and if yes which solves the problem that you are experiencing.

    The next thing to do would be to put yourself in a situation of clean boot to ensure that no background program interfere.

    1. Open the Start Menu
    2. Type msconfig in the Search box and press enter
    3. Click on continue in the UAC prompt
    4. On the general tab, click Selective startup.
    5. Under Selective startup, click on to clear the Load Startup items check box.
    6. Click on the Services tab, click to Select the hide all Microsoft Services check box and then click on disable all.
    7. Click OK.
    8. When you are prompted, click restart.
    9. After the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

    If that still does not solve the problem then let's you run the System File Checker.  It will scan all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    1. Open the Start Menu
    2. Type the command prompt in the box start the search
    3. Right click on command prompt and select run as administrator
    4. Click on continue in the UAC prompt
    5. Type the following command and press enter:
      sfc/scannow

    Please let us know if this solves your problem, or if you have any questions.

    These error messages are a pain in the neck to extract useful information.

    I suggest that you do a search online 'pilot audio free downloads' and find another audio program for your PC.

    If you find something that works for your satisfaction - remove your original pain in neck audio software and make sure you make your audio program newly found the 'default' device.

    Realtek and NVIDIA, for example get stuff good free audio driver.

    If the new program does not work - it would be a good indication that you have hardware on your PC, drive problems and no amount of play more with to try to correct the audio software will help. Period

  • Windows firewall stops when a wireless connection is established.

    Windows firewall stops when a wireless connection is established during the start-up or wakup or manually connected via wireless.  The firewall can be activated manually after wireless connection is established.  Firewall survives boot and reactivation if computer connected to the router via ethernet (cable).

    OS is 32-bit Vista Home Premium, SP2.  The platform is Acer A4720Z dual-core Intel laptop.  Wireless adapter is integrated Atheros AR5007EG - Atheros 7.70.396 driver (whidh is current & compatible Microsoft version).

    Current virus/firewall is MSE and MS Firewall.  No firewall problem until the installation of Security Essentials.  Previous virus/firewall was Mcafee SecurityCenter Suite that uninstalled cleanly via the Remove Mcafee (MCPR.exe) utility.

    All the relevant ideas welcome. Thank you.

    Go to network and sharing Center and then choose manage wireless network and try to remove this Wireless if it is there and try to add it again if you want. Try to upgrade Microsoft Security Essentials and also check for update for Windows. Also, run the full system scan and remove potential threats. If the problem has not resolved then contact technical support:

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Data recovery, if/before you reinstall:
    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.
    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.
    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:
    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html
    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

    Download the Vista software from the link above.

    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.

    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

    As a contingency plan for our server HP ML115 running Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation, we want to restore the backup created with windows (optional bare metal) backup to a virtual machine under VMware player 3.1.2. Restored boot fails with BSOD Stop 0x0000007B. Initially, the machine works with the integrated Nvidia RAID controller. We tried with the converter to migrate the image to the new disk controller, but the virtual machine does not start. Any attempts to install the driver LSI SAS 3000 in the physical machine failed because the seller and models do not appear in the console devmgmt even if we are using the corresponding diskette/driver.

    Any tips are appreciated. Thank you.

    You may need to start the virtual machine with an Image of CD/DVD/ISO OS appropriate Live with the ability to edit the Windows registry on the client, and clear the nonexistent controller while allowing the new virtual controller and add the driver if necessary and check the .vmx config file is to show the controller suitable as well.  I did not go with your particular scenario however have done with similar cases so it's doable.
