Burner DVD not recognized computer Gateway 2750 laptop under Vista

I have a DVD burner and my computer recognizes that the CD burner, I try to update the drivers but it doesn't show any DVD material. __

I have a laptop gateway 2750 running Vista Home Prem and I a bicoeur precessor.  My computer only recognizes the CD-ROM drive and does not see the same DVD at all.  I tried updating my drivers but it won't allow me to add a DVD driver. Help

Hello

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Check with the support of the door of entry for firmware updates and known issues.

===========================================

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
the parameters.

  • DVD/CD burner is not recognized by XP on my Satellite Pro U300

I just bought a Toshiba U300 Satellite Pro with Vista installed :-(.

For my work, I need to use software that is not compatible with Vista... so I installed my XP - pro software.
I ran Windows Update a few times, until there is nothing to update.
I installed all the drivers on the Toshiba site.
    I've updated the BIOS.

Everything seems to work, butX-(the DVD writer is recognized as "UNIDAD DVD-RAM (e :))"
XP just a READER of CD/DVD, not recognize... a WRITER and I am absolutely sure that he's a WRITER, because I used it on Vista to burn a bootable cd.

    Someone knows what to do?

    Hello

I think that this can be resolved very easily.
Go to the properties of the CD/DVD (right click > properties), select the tab called record.
There, you must activate the option called CD (mark) activate recording.

By the way; have you tried to use a burning like Nero for example software?

  • DVD not recognized writers more - please help!

I have a Dell Studio 1555 laptop that came with a DVD - RW drive. A year ago, my husband did a single DVD for a few friends, using the Windows DVD Maker program. It worked!

Unfortunately, it worked only once. The next time we tried, the DVD - RW drive seems not be recognized at all - not by any program or by Windows at all. I searched online and read about the removal of the upper and lower filters in the registry. I did: still the drive is not recognized.

I tried the thing Microsoft Fix It, but it does not recognize the drive as a writer.

I bought a new external DVD burner and repeated the above. It is not recognized as a USB storage device.

I ran the auditor system files, and after some difficulties to find it, check for errors in the CBS. This is the entry:

    Hello

Did you check with the manufacturer of your system, the manufacturer of the drive and ask in the Mycelial forums?

If you tried the whole store then try an in Place upgrade/repair facility that
allows you to keep the programs and data, even if redundant backups are always a good
idea. (If you have not used the methods in the troubleshooter so it is less likely to help him as)
the same incorrect settings will be always present).

You can try a repair install or an upgrade in Place.

You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
Product key. It must be the same version 32 or 64 BIT Vista OEM. Also the system
machine to usually sell the cheap disk since you already own Windows. Don't forget to make a
good backup or 3 (security in redundancy).

  • Recently burned CD not recognized by several cd players

Since I got my Dell computer (several years), I have burned many cd successfully.  The only problem I've had in the past was Windows Media to get the names of the titles of the albums/songs.  I tried to fix it but failed and he gave up. Everything I burned was considered to be an 'unknown '.

In the last two weeks, I have burned dozens of CDs that will not play on two of my cd players.  All my other cd played on them without problems.  Only one or two things that happened recently during this period.

    1. When you try to play a disc on windows support, that is, 'now playing', he would give me a message "SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE - FAILED DNS server is unable to respond to your request.  Please try again later.  And then he gives me a reference number which changes whenever I get the message.  I always get the desired album to play because they will show up on the playlist and play.

    2. because I've never been able to have the name of the part of the album/songs from my cd, they always rip to 'unknown '.  For this reason, if I was not burning right now, I would be left with selections mesh of different albums torn, making the process of burning a jumble.  So I have always ripped and burned one at a time.  Recently, even if it is apparently back return once again, files ripped in 'Unknown' to a real album CALLED "Unknown" under "U".  This led to several torn albums with the title 'unknown '.

In any case, I accidentally discovered this problem.  I did most of my listening to the cd burned ON my computer with Windows Media and even the SERVICE UNAVAILABLE message whenever I chose "now playing", I could play without problem.  Then I took some of these new CDs engraved and tried to play on two of my old cd players that have had no problem playing all my other cd burned I received an error message, or more frequently, a message 'no disc', which let assume that perhaps these recent cd does not close properly.  The question is, how can I avoid this does not happen and is it possible that I can somehow 'save' those who are now unplayable by encouraging some kind of close "after the fact".  I thought I had found a way to take one of these CDs and put in back in my computer and causing it to close properly but now I don't know how I did apparently operate.  If she already burned but not closed, how can I position it so that it can close.  Just put it in the computer and eject manually (when these CDs were burned the computer was set to "automatic ejection".

That's all.  I have a LOT of recently burned cd that WILL play on my computer (even with the weird error message) and on my player connected to my TV, but not dvd will NOT play on one of my two stereo cd players... I receive messages of "no disc".

    Ed (confused)

    Hello Eddill,

I have also experienced this problem in the past. For me, it had to do with the brand of CD I burned.
Have you tried using a different brand of CD in to see if the drive is still not detected by some players?
I would also burn the disc at a slower speed. If you burn at full speed, some older CD players sometimes have trouble reading the discs.
