iTunes keeps popping up with not found disc burner. One of the help pages supposed to go on computer, right click / Manage / device driver / and find the IDE ATA/ATAPI and it wasn't there. so I checked it on my laptop which is windows too, but shows IDE ATA/ATAPI. What should I do now? What is my problem I-tunes?

Hello

Sometimes they have too many programs for CD/DVD (burning and reading) causes conflicts that can cause a
strange as errors they are competing for resources. The problems of corruption and the system hardware could also
also be at fault.

Follow these steps to remove corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

Run DiskCleanup - start - all programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup

Start - type in the search box - find command top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

Then, run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next boot, then apply OK your way out, then restart.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

I'm having a problem with my newly installed SSD. I just got an Alienware Aurora R4 with Windows 8. I immediately cloned the HDD to a vector of OCZ serving 256 GB drive of EaseUs ToDo Backup, which worked perfectly when I just upgraded to an SSD on my laptop. At the beginning I had a problem with recognition by car, but then ensured this bios was set to AHCI and UEFI and finally to load Windows 8. I reformatted the hard drive 2 TB for Data (d :)) and loaded all my music, videos etc..) Then when I went to optimize my readers, I clicked on the optimization of the DDI, and she went from needing optimization to "optimization is not available" - which it is said now and is gray. I realized that it is a question as optimization in Win 8 on an active SSD TRIM (works on my laptop).  Do not know if it is a matter of concern, but the (I'm sure that what is already hidden) partition DIAGS on the original drive received a drive letter (e :)) on the SSD.

Anyway back to the no optimization/TRIM. My first reaction was to google "Value is not available" and I found this link.

The poster says he fixed his problem by updating its storage controller drivers. "Basically, I downloaded the latest drivers Intel Rapid Storage Technology for Windows 8."
I checked my control of storage drivers in Device Manager, and these are listed:

Intel (r) 600 Series chipset SATA AHCI controller
    Microsoft storage controller

Read more in the article someone else with a similar problem mentioned tried using the admin command promp to activate the TRIM (what to me then tried and had the exact same message of error/result), with the following results:

    Type "defrag c:/l '.

Coating invoking the name of the drive (C :)...)

    Lining: 100% full.

The requested operation is not supported by the hardware of the volume. (0x8900002A)

This individual, and then upgraded to Windows 8 and leaves choose drivers and apparently its has started working. He mentioned its IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller amended in both disk management. Reading that I decided to see what mine were and noticed that I have not yet to IDE ATA/ATAPI controller listed in disk management on my system! Even when the control to display hidden is not a controller to IDE ATA/ATAPI list. Should I do this?

I went to the controller driver dell to check to see if I needed updates. It shows me only Windows 7 updates as it says that my R4 Aurora accompanies when I added my service code (is there a way to fix this?). I just chose to watch an empty Arurora R4 and was able to see the drivers of Windows 8 and downloaded all updates that seemed relevant (also update bios to A07 A06). When I downloaded the class Serial ATA driver (7D9TS) and you click Update, it says just the file is decompressed, but have not installed anywhere (unlike the other pilots).

If anyone knows why I don't have IDE ATA/ATAPI listed and how to get this device?

For those who have an SSD on their Aurora R4 with Win 8 are you able to optimize and what drivers you have this affect it?

I think that the problems started here, on this stage of EaseUs.

I hope that you always have this original Image backup... probably on an external USB or something. Good... Keep this forever (especially since it looks like that delete you the original copy/drive).

You have to clean install Win - 8 (and support adequate and other drivers chipset) this SSD so you can check the materials. It is not easy because of no victory-8 media and hidden serial OEM key. You may need to talk with Dell for some OEM DVD or USB Flash media.

Personally, I would have also created the Dell 16 GB USB Flash device recovery initially. It might be useful now. He could have facilitated a full restore of your OEM-Windows-8... same "bare metal" (to your Virgin SSD).

  • I want to allocate more disk space for my c drive and remove the drive d

I want to allocate more disk space for my c drive and remove the drive d. I 26 gig on the d drive and only using less than 1% of it, and I have the same amount on c, but only 39% c left. How to do this.

LEM explained the problems that you tried to resize partitions on the same drive.

You can create more free space in C in carrying one of the measures suggested below.

The default allocation for the restoration of the system is 12% on your C partition is more generous. I have them would be reduced by 700 MB. Make my computer right click on your icon, and select System Restore. Place the cursor on your C drive select settings but this time find the slider and drag it to the left until it shows 700 MB and output. When you get to the settings screen, click on apply and OK and leave.

A flaw that might be useless which is for temporary internet files, especially if you keep no copies on the disk offline. Setting the default value is 3% of the walk. Depending on your attitude to copies offline, you could bring it to 1% or 2%. In Internet Explorer, select Tools, Internet Options, general, temporary Internet files, settings to make the change. At the same time, look at the number of days, the story stands.

The default allocation for the basket is 10% of the disk. Change to 5%, which should be enough. In Windows Explorer hover over your Recycle Bin, right click and select Properties, Global and move the slider from 10% to 5%. However, try to let you become so complete that if it is complete and you delete a file by mistake it will bypass the Recycle Bin and have gone forever.

You can generate more space in the system (usually C) the folder move partition.

For temporary Internet files, select Start, Control Panel, Internet Options, temporary Internet files. Settings and move back.

To move the storage folder Outlook Express select from Outlook Express Tools, Options, maintenance, store folder and change.  http://www.tomsterdam.com/insideoe/files/store.htm.

How to change the default location of the My Documents folder: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310147

You may also change the default locations of the files in Microsoft Office programs when you choose to move the My Documents folder. For Word, go to tools, Options, file locations, highlight the Documents, click on edit and change the path. For Excel, go to tools, Options, general, and change the default path.

My Documents is one of the many the created system of special folders, which include my pictures, and my music. It can be more easily modified using TweakUi. Download TweakUI, one of MS powertoys, here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp.

In TweakUi, select workstation, special folders. You can scroll down to see the full list of special folders to the left of the button to change the location.

You can move programs, but to do this, you must uninstall and reinstall the program. With Word and Excel, the existing data files are not affected by reinstalling. Most of the work in question is going to be reinstall all updates issued after those that are included with the original Microsoft CD / DVD.

If your drive is formatted as NTFS another potential gain arises with your operating system on your C drive. In the Windows directory of your C partition you will some uninstall files in your Windows folder in general: $NtServicePackUninstall$ and $NtUninstallKB282010$ etc. These files can be compressed or not compressed. If compressed text the name of the folder appears in blue. If these files are not compressed you can compress. Right-click on each folder and select Properties, general, advanced, and check the box before you compress contents to save disk space. On the general tab, you can see the winning amount by deducting the size on disk size. File compression is only an option on an NTFS formatted disk partition / partition.

I'd be interested to see a report of Disk Defragmenter. Open Disk Defragmenter and click analysis. Select view report, and then click Save as and save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents folder. Open the file, place the cursor anywhere in the file, select Edition, select all to select all the text and copy and paste into the body of your message. To do this, before you run Disk Defragmenter because it is more informative.

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter

Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before that the error occurred initially, do not use this option.

Select Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, view, advanced settings and check the box in front of "show files and folders" and 'Hide protected operating system files' are unchecked. You may need to scroll down to see the second element. You should also make sure that the box before "Hide extensions of known file types" is not checked. Notwithstanding, there are some files that are hidden. Again, you will not see the System Volume Information folder.

  • Backup Windows survey the failure error code backup 0 x 80780048 - not enough disk space on the destination drive.

The backup includes a complete image of the C: System and all files on drive C: (used space on C: = 377 GB), goes to an external hard drive with a capacity of 930 GB (540GB free on external). The size of the backup when the backup has stopped and gave me the error: 295.4 GB (leaving 347 GB of free hard disk external) backup took more than 13 hours. I use Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit, 1 MS) on a Dell XPS 17 L702X. Full size of hard disk installed (drive c :)) = 500 GB.

I have no idea whether or not Windows backup really did all my files saved or if or not he managed to obtain a complete picture of the system in the backup. I absolutely need to have the two all my files and an image of the system as a backup because I change my OS drive of 500 GB for one SSD drive smaller hard drive. This 500 GB drive will be wiped out and used as a storage device, but I'd rather have the ability to restore to its original state if something goes wrong. I hope you can solve this problem for me.

I suggest avoid you the Windows backup program and you get a good commercial backup program. This forum meets for a windows problem reports. I know that I was very impressed when I tried it. Three I'm familiar with and like Norton Ghost (which I use for 8 years no 1 problem), Easeus Todo Backup free, you can download it from

http://www.TODO-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm and Memeo , which has 30 day free trial and you can buy it for $29.99 - you can download it from http://memeo.com . You can get Ghost for almost nothing (like me), if you look at the sales.

The March 2012 issue of PC World is very high on the program FREE of Easeus and I tested it recently in a variety of configurations; and must say that I am very impressed. As Ghost will support up to a network drive and it will create a bootable CD for when your PC does not start. See commentary to PC World to

  • Satellite Pro 6100: disk not recognized HARD - error IDE #0

I just replaced a failed HARD drive from MK4019GAX in my 6100 Pro of the Satellite with a MK4026GAX and have tried to install XP Home. I can't recognize the hard drive of the computer.

When I boot, I get a message ERROR IDE #0 before installing Windows, then a message saying that all third party SCSI drivers should be installed first. (I'm starting with the Windows disk in the drive) then when it is at the end of the installation process a message saying that "put in place did not any hard drives installed in your computer.

If I boot without the Windows I'm getting PXE - E61 Media test failure.

When I go into the BIOS ACPI BIOS version 1.90, under devices "Mode HDD = used (s) ' I can't get in to change and there is nowhere else that seems related to the hard drive (apart from the boot priority section).

I read on a forum somewhere that there could be problems getting the BIOS to recognize a new HARD drive.

It is a common problem for this model, or is the new hard drive may be defective?
Is there a workaround or a solution?

    If all requested assistance right.

    DM

    Hello

This error message indicates that the HARD disk drive was not properly acknowledged. The fact is that this unit uses a regular IDE (ATA-5) interface and the new HARD drive is supported by this interface.
In this case, I assume that the HARD drive has not been installed correctly. Try to remove the HARD drive and check the connections.
The other possibility is that the HARD disk controller is dead.
In this case, the service partner must check the laptop.

  • g drive doesn't open - application not found error

my g drive does not open. When I click on it it shows application not found error... If I change the drive letter of the drive works normally. but I want the drive should work with the letter g

    Hi Tejaschaudhari,

Is the G drive an external drive or an internal hard drive?

The drive letter is already allocated, so you may not assigned the same name of the drive and the drive.
I suggest you to run the disk check.

    Check a drive for errors
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/check-a-drive-for-errors

Note: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

  • Drive hard internal not found to fix this problem, try reinstalling the drive

So I get the error message: internal hard drive not found to fix this problem try reinstalling the drive

Once I got the error, I removed my 1 TB HARD drive and replaced by a 525 GB SSD and I still get the error. After testing the original 1 TD drive HARD, has nothing wrong with him, so it seems to be something wrong with the computer itself.

I ran the PSA test and it does not detect any problems with the hard drive and no other errors.

    What could be?

Edit: I have the Dell XPS 15 9530

The fixed. The BIOS has been updated with virtualization, so we turned off and also removed the SSD of 32 GB.
