By selecting a GPU

It is possible to select the graphics processor that LR CC to use?  In CC PS I am able to change the settings so that it uses the GeForce 930 M rather GPU integrated but I can't do that in LR.  If I use the NVIDIA tool to change the settings (as I did for the PS) I don't even see LR as a program that can be selected.

Thank you

Pete

If you experience any problems within LR, I wouldn't worry on this subject.

For the benefit of the other who landed here with LR questions here's some info:

Sounds like your laptop uses the Nivida Optimus technology. It allows the Nvidia GPU for applications in graphics resources such as 3D games, and it shuts down to save energy when you use other applications. The Nvidia Control Panel apparently thinks that LR is not a graphics intensive application. It is not likley Adobe or Nivida will be the "difficulty" of this question in an update, you should be able to manually select as I have suggested and it worked for a user to activate the Nvidia GPU in LR6. You may have to restart the laptop so that it takes effect.

  • My HP Desktop GPU upgrade

    Hello.

I'm wanting to run more graphically intensive games and want to upgrade this HP desktop computer to deal with it, until I have more money to build a custom system. My my PC model number is NY464AAR. I created a post on TomsHardware and someone who knew a good amount on HP desktop computers sent me here (link to post Forum - http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2244842/desktop-gpu-upgraded.html#13867620)

He said that only a selection bit GPU compatible with HP, and they like to "minimize" the overall scalability of their systems to make more money.

What GPU should I use in this system? My price range is $ $100 - $200 Canadian Dollars. I'll also put the low power supply 300w to 500w power to accomidate the GPU (if possible)

I was watching the 7870 AMD to supply all my gaming needs. If it is not compatible, what are? (and giving around the same performance for the money).

Is there any best GPU to play games like Arma 2 and Dayz for the same price/preformance ratio?  I don't really like what are the graphics settings, like, anything is better than what I played in with the Geforce 9100 integrated on the motherboard. My only real hope is to play 1440 x 900 and maybe 1080 p when (if) I update my monitor. But well, it'll do for now.

    Thank you very much

  • Is it possible to enable the gpu to gtx670 in the first cc use?

    Hello

I bought creative cloud and with first, I have no option to select the GPU support. I know that the GTX 670 is not in the whitelist but it works collaboratively with first Pro CS 6 and has more than 1 GB of Ram. So I hope that I can select the use of GPU rendering and click on the warning message now.

Is it possible to allow the GTX 670 in first Pro CC?

    Thank you and best regards

Don't know how to solve your problem outside the research to see if there is a file cuda.txt... but I can assure you that the card works in body CC2014.xxx because I use one.

Try to reinstall the latest driver.

  • GPU is not available (other inconclusive posts)

I have been in contact with Nvidia on this problem. I showed them a screen shot of a video talking about compatibility. The screenshot shows that the user has a GTX 570, with the selected section CUDA and GPU work. By Nvidia, I thought that my GTX 660 is "much better" that the GTX 570, yet I do not get to select the GPU and CUDA section is inactive.

Adobe says that it is the video card and Nvidia it's After Effects, which is the origin of the problem.

Other posts about it speak for a setting in a text file, a framework in the environment variables and the other gives even a link to the same issue in Adobe Premiere . But I don't see anyone saying "Hey, thanks, that worked.

    What test file?

    What environment variable?

Why give a link to first instead of After Effects?

Someone said that if you get the message 'GPU is not available' means that the video card is incompatible end of story. According to Nvidia, the GTX 570 works 660 GTX should work, because it is more advanced card.

I can't afford to play music video cards...

    >.. stipulation to the Nvidia GTX 660 should work better than the GTX 570.

No matter what said Nvidia; This GPU is not on the list of GPUS supported for acceleration CUDA for Premiere Pro or After Effects:

Hello I have just updated my records for AMD Radeon HD6630M with new catalyst beta2 but now I can't change the graphics card. I tried to go to CCC - selected manually switchable graphic method switch GPU pressed apply and nothing happened. At least I tried to uninstall this old CCC isntal and tried again. Problem remains intact, and now I'm sad of this because my games is now unnecessary . I can just select which GPU I want for aplications but its bad cause my fps dropped. I realize before windows mark with random maps for switching applications is just 6.3 for games and 4.9 for other stuff. Before I 6.7 for both because I have chosen the AMD GPU forever.

    Hello

To use nVidia 3D Vision, you will need to set the projector at 120 Hz
You can do this in display properties
Control Panel-> appearance and personalization-> display.

In addition you must set the GPU nVidia as a default value for specific programs to use 3D on 120 Hz disaply external.

Start-> Control Panel-> nVidia Control Panel.
Now, expand 3D category settings and select manage 3D settings.
In the program settings tab, select a program that needs to use the nVidia GPU (required for 3D) map

Now select the GPU for this program.

  • Intel (r) graphics Instead of AMD RADEON

Hey guys, I bought a laptop from M6 want

and it has the label of the radeon on it but it is Intel (r) graphics 4000 on the display configuration

How can I use AMD instead of intel?

    Thank you

    Hello

If your laptop comes with the switchable graphics option... make a right-click on an unused space on th desktop and then select Configure switchable graphics.

In the AMD/ATI Radeon Catalyst Control Center window that opens, you can select the gpu (Intel) or high performance GPU AMD for energy savings.

What is the product name complete of your laptop?

You can retrieve your product number by pressing Fn + ESC key. You can also read the Service tag (if any) attached to the bottom of your notebook\netbook. You can also find this information at the bottom of the window HP Support Assistant.

  • Call of duty Black Ops Zombies 2, using the wrong graphics card

Hello, I recently contacted Activision about the mode of call of duty Black Ops Zombies 2 very agitated and jumpy, like what you would get if you've played online with someone across the world, like really bad lag offline server, now I can play the campaign and multiplayer on the highest graphics settings and have no problem at all just the Zombies mode, even in offline mode. People at Activision back to me and said it could be because the Zombies is using the integrated graphics card Intel CPU and not discrete AMD card, and they said I should contact HP to see if if there is a way to activate manually in Control Panel. I'll link the Forum on Activision's post to read what said the people.
    https://support.Activision.com/Atvi_my_support_case_details?ID=500U0000005nbrlIAA&RMA=0

If it does not work the link, then let me know and I will copy them here for you to see, if you think you need.

    Hi Goochster,

I tried the link you provided, but it is inaccessible, unless we have a forum of Activision account.

Normally, all you have to do is right click on an empty spot on the desktop and select Configure switchable graphics.

Select it gpu performance and click apply. That should leave the AMD GPU default graphics package.

Put a check mark in the box for the "saving GPU on battery switch' your laptop will not consume so much battery capacity.

  • Switchable graphics boot

    Hey guys,.

I have a HP Pavilion DV7 with graphics switchable 4085sf (ati and intel) and I want every time when I opened the laptop to start on GPU GPU performance not saving.

    How can I do?

It will probably not an option to start specifically using a specific GPU when first turns on the computer. You simply select your GPU desired, and if configured properly it should just use it at startup. Which may be based on your usage. You can configure the GPU to pass when you're on battery power vs AC. You may need to use trial and error to find the specific settings you want.

BCC 116 and 117 are called video time out and recover and are associated with the video subsystem.  Most often related to a driver, but they can also be linked to the heat, overclocking and occasionally in powered power supplies.

The user will often see "no has your video stopped and recovered", but ultimately it will not be able to recover.

    Details

"Is not a real crash, in the sense that the blue screen was launched only because the combination of material and video driver video was insensitive . "

The first step would be to install the most recent driver, (completely remove the current driver and installing the latest driver available),. and continues to malfunction, return to a much older pilot that some new drivers are somewhat bugs. If playing with video driver versions did not help, make sure that the box is not overheated.

In the recent "Timeout detection and recovery' operating systems (TDR) of the video subsystem OS components were capable of making really impressive things to try to find issues that resulted in BONES as soon as XP crashing.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends a video driver command "Please restart you now!" and wait a few seconds.
If there is no answer, the BONE concludes that the combo of driver/hardware video has really collapsed in a heap, and it fires at this stop 0 x 116 BSOD.

If you have a desktop computer, try removing a side panel and a sector large fan directly to the motherboard and GPU.
Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to check whether the cooler temperatures make a difference.

If so, it could be as simple as dust accumulation and inadequate cooling afterwards.

I download cpu-z and gpu-z (both free) and keep an eye on the video time

If this is not a driver and not heat it's time to start checking the hardware by running a GPU stress test

Try this free video stress test: http://www.ozone3d.NET/benchmarks/fur/
    FurMark Setup:

-If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during installation
-In the run, select "Test of stability" and "Journal of the GPU temperature.
-Click on 'Go' to start the test
-Run the test until the temperature of the GPU maxes - or until you start to have problems (whichever comes first)
    -Click on "Exit" to exit

I've been running in some bsod for a few days. The backstory is my old GTX 480 finally too won heat dmg (would be regularly hang out in the mid-1990s under load, sometimes going into triple digits), so I borrowed a card from a friend so I can use my compy again until I could get a new card ordered. Unfortunately, he was a Radeon 4550, but it worked well enough. After getting a new card (GTX 970), I put it in my brother's PC (newer than mine, I don't have that PCIe2, there 3) and uses his GTX 670 in mine.

Since putting the 670 in this PC I can't really run all games without making an error bsod x 116. I know that the card doesn't have to be bad, as it has never had a problem in my brother's PC.

Also, insofar the temp, Yes, it isn't even up to 30 C at the time wherever it hangs, temp better so do not be ab.

So I thought it was something to do with the mess of drivers left behind and switching from Nvidia to AMD then back to Nvidia. I ran Guru3D Display Driver uninstall tool and deleted all drivers Nvidia and AMD in my system to Safe Mode. Installed the latest Nvidia drivers own and still had the issue. Then I tried using BlueScreenView to see the files but could not find the dump files.

Turns out that I had completely turned off, not page file that I really needed with 12 GB of ram anyway. But I turned it on I can get dump files. Several BSOD and restarts later still happening. Bound on is the last bsod.

And now I can't figure out how to make heads or tails of this dump file. BlueScreenView program does not give me much info non-cryptique I can understand to help identify the problem.

    Really need help here.

    * edit *.

I checked if I enable KBoost EVGA feature (turns the GPU at full speed/power 24/7), I can play games. But if I disable it, I get the bsod and can't play.

Ideas here other only increase my electric bill if I am just browsing the web? I don't want to have to go through the steps of activating/deactivating it everytime I go to start a game or if I'm afk in a game alt-tabs of internet browsing.

  • How to disable the generation of intel graphics hd 4000 video on Dell Inspiron 3521?

Hello, I recently bought the Dell laptop inspiron 3521. It comes with AMD Radeon HD M 8730. But it seems that the computer is not at all. Two video cards with drivers up to date.
I tried with disable the generation in the video card, but when I do the pc starts using displayer Basic windows and it does not recognize one of the video cards.
I tried with different drivers for the amd video card from dell and amd sites, but without success. I also tried switchable graphics and other options in the amd catalyst control center, but I have found no solution, either.
There is also no option to disable or set prefferable video card in the BIOS settings.
Is that what anyone has any other ideas how to solve this problem.

You cannot disable the Intel GPU - this is the only one who has a link with the display panel.  The AMD GPU is simply a video coprocessor - it transmits data through the Intel GPU on its way to the display panel.

Although there are some systems that allow you to select the video chip at the hardware level, is not one of them - the video system is fully controlled by software.  You select the AMD GPU on a per application basis.  The GPU from Intel is still the main - there is no way to change this.

Look in your control panel - you should see the entries for these two video circuits.  If you do not, you have a driver problem.  If you do, then select the GPU to use with the Catalyst Control Center.  Note: there ARE some applications - including many games, especially older - that won't work with the AMD GPU because they are not written in support of switching graphics.  If this is the case, you may need an update or a paid upgrade to a new version of the game.

You can have the card ATI and integrated graphics.  If this is the case without the ATI system driver will use the built in graphics.

The last driver that you should try, it is one of the computer as a machine they tweak sometimes their drivers to work with their equipment.  "If this does not work it is time to start testing material"
