C220-M3 wire management

We had to remove a C220-M3 of UCS FI, upgrade the MMIC to V1.3.5.d (to resolve the issue, install W2012 and W2012 R2 on an embedded MegaRaid controller)

Subsequently, we changed the setting back to Shared-LOM-Ext (unfortunately we do not do a factory reset) BIOS

After C220-M3 is again in UCSM and SP is associated with we get

It seems that there is a problem with cloth b; If I move fabric vNIC b to a, the error has disappeared?

Walter,

If the connection are in the path connection and the connection status and the limited number of NICs for you show here there is something unusual happens.  You can try a decom/recom and see if that helps.  If this isn't the case, I recommend that you open a case with TAC so that we can collect the right information and help solve you the problem.

  • C220 M3 with Cisco VIC and shipped 1 g?

    Hello

    We have a pair of servers C220 M3 that we connected to a pair of tissue (6248) for the management of single wire through the VIC in 1225.  We also operate two 1 GB embedded cards, but it is a Windows 2012 bare metal server and does not see the additional interfaces.  The interfaces appear and connected to the switch downstream, so we know that they are enabled.  However, the operating system does not see the interfaces.  We have come the matrix compat for drivers, but it's as if the interfaces are not presented to the OS.

    I wanted to just make sure there isn't something else with wire management simple which "prevents" the operating system on the server to use these interfaces?

    Thank you

    Hello

    It is correct. I have not tried this option by myself, but it's something that can be tried would work.

  • limit of cpu resource manager problem

    Hello world

    I'm testing the resource limit of resource manager. in all the documents I read, after you create groups of consumers, if I gave a resource limit in terms of resources, it is said, this group of consumers won't be able to consume more cpu than that. for ex, 2 consumer group I have one of them gave 90% of cpu and the other (let's call it test_group) 5%, but when I connect with a user who is located in the test_group consumer group. After the execution of some sql/plsql, I noticed that it uses all the cpu.

    EDIT: to the fifth message there is all the code samples and the test results with screenshots.

    for ex in this page: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/mdm/v10r0m0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.mdmhs.smpl.gd.doc%2Fr_oracle_db_resource_manager_working_example.html

    There is a code example that explain the plan. It is said REPORTING_GROUP is not being able to occupy more than 5% of CPU times in total. I used this code, but reporting_group always be able to consume all the cpu. I tested this code (also I have created a new group and the plan of Enterprise manager) on windows 7 64-bit, intel i7 cpu with 4 core and on the same machine, using the virtual machine oralinux. as database, Enterprise edition 11.2.0.1

    also resources plan is active and working, active session limit or cancel hen size for example, works when I tested it, but CPU limit is not. for testing I used the plsql code.

    create or replace function sf_test(p number) return number as
      x number;
    begin
      select 1 into x from sh.sales where prod_id = p and rownum = 1;
      return 1;
    exception
      when no_data_found then
        return 0;
    end;
    /

    declare
      x number;
    begin
      for i in 1..50 loop
        for i in 1..10000 loop
          x := sf_Test(i);
        end loop;
      end loop;
    end;

    I created four session of the Report1 user (in the link I mentioned before) and run this code plsql, at most 5% of cpu if they had but my CPU is overloaded almost every time.

    I missed something here or I got all wrong concept?

    PS: setting resource_limit is true and resouce_plan is the plan that I created. as I said before the plan is active and functional, I know, but may not limit the cpu. I would appreciate it if you help. Thank you very much.

    Looks like the resource manager behave correctly.

    If the session manager are not ask for 95 percent of the CPU resources, what remains will be the users of the report.  Oracle will not starve the UC report sessions if there are a bunch of CPU idle.

    If there are 8 Virtual cores and a bunch of single threaded sessions, you need at least 8 sessions before Manager the Manager could use 95% of the available CPU.  Most likely, you would need 9 or 10.

    If you have only a 6-wire Manager, these discussions could consume at least 6/8 = 75% of the available CPU but probably more than 67% (to pick a number that facilitates the calculation).  There is 33% of the CPU for the report.  There are 4 sessions of report in your screenshot with a little more than 2 cores available and each one seems to spend slightly more than 50% of their time on the CPU, which looks all right.

  • SMB ESXi with iSCSI SAN

    I'm looking for make a SMB deployment for the clients of mine. The new features offered by 4.1 for SMB as VMotion and HA are now in their budget. I've seen DELl offering some broadcom with TOE and ISCSI unloading cards. I know that 4.1 now supports TOE cards, but these broadcom cards actually iSCSI HBAs or just TOE cards Motors iSCSI? VSphere 4.1 will support this card? Its much cheaper than buying full host bus adapters blown for a small business.

    I'd go with the R710 mainly because of the experience with the model and how strong they are. You will save all the money using the R610, so you could spec on a solid R710 for the host. In addition, the R710 has four GB of NETWORK map (with the option of TOE on the four) and four open expansion for multiple network interface cards and other slot. With the R610, you will have only two expansion slots. So if you want to add more cards later (more than two), you must either delete that you installed to make room, or do the purchase.

    I would always use the SAS drives on board to install ESX/ESXi on. You will save money by not getting NOT the HBA you can use to boot from SAN with the same (or similar) performance level. It also helps to isolate the questions when you're starting from local disks... I would go with a pair of 10 k / 15 k RPM SAS drives (2.5 "or 3.5", your choice there) on the RAID controller (using RAID 1 on them) support. Confirm with either your VAR or rep Dell to make sure that the controller is 100% compatible with VMware (or you check the HCL). They list the 146 GB drives in the Configurator (normal site of SMB) fairly cheap price.

    I'd also go with processors Xeon E5620 (get a pair inside the host) so you'll have plenty of CPU power. Get as much RAM as you can, using not more than 12 sticks (multiple of six).

    In fact, I have configured a R610 and R710 a using the SMB website... The R710 has the 146 GB (10 k RPM) drives the R610 has 73 GB 15 k RPM drives. The R610 comes out to almost $300 more than the R710. We're talking same memory (24 GB), TOE enabled on the built-in NETWORK interface, no additional NIC at build time (they would get another provider, getting Intel NIC, NOT of Broadcom), redundant power supplies, kits of rapid-rail (without the wire management arm), two-processor Xeon E5620, iDRAC 6 Enterprise (so you can do it all remotely, no need to use any KVM don't setup once configured the iDRAC 6). Both versions include the 5 x 10 hardware only (NBD onsite) support. I also put the hard drives RAID 1, so you have redundancy here.

    Seen readers on board, for ESX/ESXi is on will also configure the host much easier and will not require something special on the side storage. Otherwise, you need to configure up to the MD3000i to present the solitary start-up LUN to a host for ESXi. Everyone that I spoke with who implements guests, always with local disks. Especially if you are looking to save the ~ 1 k $ the HBA adds to the build (not to mention the extra complexity to things). I was talking with some people in charge of a large IBM virtual data center not long there. They were forced to boot from SAN on their hosts fear. They were forced to do so by higher ranking people within the company. It was decided that because it sounded good on paper, it would be good in practice. Initial tests have shown how much pain he would be, and they were not happy about the extra work required so that it can happen. Until VMware clearly indicates that booting from THE SAN is recommended to local disk (properly configured on either) I will continue to use local drives for ESX/ESXi reside opon. Even in this case, we have a significant performance win by going to the boot of model SAN. Maybe when 10 GB is on the environment as a whole, it will make sense. As it is, you get new SAS disks that are 6 GB, everything in-house, and you still beat the trunk of the SAN performance model. In addition, you don't need to worry about someone making something accidentily to the LUN you are booting from...

  • C220 M3 - management UCSM diagram with 1 K 2

    Hey all - I was wondering if it is possible to make the single wire unified management of a C220M3 along the coast a chassis blade if we have only 1 2232? I wired all the way this guide reccomends (with the exception of the B FEX fabric, of course):

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/unified_computing/UCS/c-series_integration/ucsm2.1/b_UCSM2-1_C-Integration_chapter_010.html and all the bios/firmware versions are correct. The FI had no trouble detecting the FEX when hang us the server it is not discovered, are two aircraft required for the discovery to work?

    Just to doublecheck your topology, the CiscoVIC 1225 has one plugged port 2232 and then second port must not be used. Stormwater management do not work with the old CiscoVIC P81e.

    A single 2232 attached to a HA Cluster is supported.

    Connect a KVM and choose F8 during startup. Select default Configuration and restart. Default setting put in action, active/active.

    I'll try and be implemented in our laboratory. Let me know if you get anywhere.

    Thank you

  • 29 Firefox fails to come out properly and continues to run in the Task Manager.

    It is a continuation of a thread found here:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/997448 by Compumind.

    I pointed out that I had the same experience, especially at the opening of the email links in Thunderbird. I reported also that forced me to go back to 28 FF.

    Moses responded by top wire and suggested:
    (1) download a fresh installer of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (2) the release of Firefox.

    (3) rename the folder

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \OldFirefox

    (4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    I followed these instructions carefully but no joy. When installing 29 FF, not only refused to leave (using "exit") and continue to run in the Task Manager up until I killed him after the opening of links in Thunderbird, but I find that he refused to come out after a simple navigation and links.

    Moses had asked that I didn't answer in the original thread, so I re-post here.

    In my view, that there is a serious bug. With Firefox 28... no problem don't except a minor that I have indicated here:
    https://Bugzilla.Mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1002089

    Yet once I am obliged to 28 FF, although I miss the nice interface and security patches, I need to have a browser that works properly. My wife never even saw the Manager of the tasks before so that's the problem.

    In addition, "guesses" made with this post, the only other thing usual outside that I do, is to have a security policy about cookies (accept by default... I make exceptions for cookies I want to keep and have several that are "allow only for the session.") I also FF the value delete history of navigation at the exit, but that takes a fraction of a second.

    I look forward to when this matter can be addressed successfully and I am able to use 29 FF (and out properly... I can't wait for my wife to follow all of these instructions and it often close manually in the Manager of tasks... or what I want to do this.)

    Good luck for all Mozilla projects. Having installed 29 FF twice and then back return 28 twice, I'll wait and see how this plays out. Please don't send me the standard "start in safe mode", 'restart with disabled modules', 'reset Firefox' stuff (the last time that completely destroyed my browser). I don't think that is what is happening.

    Moses added that there is a problem with the e-mail notifications passing by, so take your time, friends.

    I think now (temporarily) this bug or problem has its roots in "history leaving Compensation."

    I made the leap after a few game with 29 PortableFirefox and reading the blog post linked here:

    [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../997918#answer-566755]

    .. .and installed 29 FF on my previous FF28 on my box. I unchecked the "clear history on exit" which was only to delete my history, not cookies or anything else, cor - el. My setting should not accept cookies unless I make an exception. Until the FF developers find a way to do this is functional, I'll just have to manually delete the history.

    Furthermore, John99, you want to maybe privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown set to 'False', not 'true' If you want to stop the automatic deletion of the history at the exit (attempt).

    I've been running for about 6 hours. without experiencing the bug 'suspended '. So, I can live with that for now until this bug is fixed. It should be fixed... browsers are supposed to be able to do things like that.

    On the other hand, I could find things go wrong... but so far I'm not having a problem.

    I for several hours and will let you know later if things change.

    Kind regards

    You just need to install a driver, Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
    As the name said it s an Intel driver and can be found on the Intel page or you can download it from the European driver Toshiba page too.
    Check your area driver books and search for storage manager or package of robson.

    I recommend also to search in this forum for similar discussions on Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver.

  • I uninstalled Recovery Manager

    I inadvertently uninstalled a program, without realizing what it was. The program was Recovery Manager, which was created by Cyberlink. I had my PC since the Paleozoic era and had never noticed a program called real Recovery Manager before, even if I reformatted my hard disk more than once. To reformat, I simply press the f 11 key repeatedly during start-up, and eventually I just follow the guests to the screen.

    I've looked everywhere to see if there was a place I could simply re - download, bypassing of order recovery disks. I'm quite poor, and just pay the shipping cost would be a constraint. This is why my computer is old, although working again, even if it is held jointly with wire to bail out and spit. I'd appreciate any help.

    I don't know how to answer both of those who have responded to my message, except for maybe one, then copy and paste to another. Before that, I'll see what you reply to my own post done. I hope that I will hear from you two, that will let me know that you have seen this.
    I wanted to say thank you very much for responding and trying to help. I appreciate that very much. I'm sorry it took so long to respond, but you wouldn't believe the series of unfortunate events that happened since I posted my question.
    After I logged in here, I had checked and more googling and couldn't really find something that could help me get back my Recovery Manager. Then, he suddenly appeared on the restoration of the me... system... I didn't honestly if the system restore would be "re" - install programs that have been uninstalled, but because it restores your computer to a previous state (one that still had the necessary programs), I decided to try it. I did a few times and never had a problem with it.
    After it was over, I waited until the system restarts, but it seems to take an unusually long to open the setting running the Windows Welcome screen. I noticed that the cursor was there and just a white screen.
    I continued to wait for a few seconds, which turned into minutes, so I finally just cut the power supply and started around. I got the same results. Just a blank screen with a cursor.
    After two attempts over me were getting worried, so using my phone, I just typed in google what I was watching and was shocked by what came. What I was watching was a black screen of death.
    I had never experienced this before and had no idea what it was. I had and extracted from the blue screens of death, but had never seen or heard of a black. I tried again and again to restart and enter the the Task Manager, or safe mode, and nothing would work. I was literally in shock.
    There was a very long list of patches that people were trying to recover from the BSOD, but I couldn't take the time to go through each of them, but then it fail, so, after some thought, I decided to try a factory reset. I knew that I would lose all my programs, but if it worked, I would have my computer back. As it was, I had nothing.
    I restarted and press f11 as I did, and he was there. The Recovery Manager. I can be deleted from the C drive, but thanks to hp, he was still on the recovery drive D Yay!
    I waited until he ran through the whole process and continued to read googlc on my phone. I didn't even look up and see that if everything was going as it should, then, I came across an article that really hurts me. It was the title of the article and a link for it:

    After factory reset I get a black screen of death

    When I finally looked up, I had 1% to go and then he stopped, and there was the welcome hp on your new computer. IT WORKED! I got my computer back and I was so happy.
    My advice is if you have an hp computer and you have probably if you are on this forum, BACK UP EVERYTHING on YOUR COMPUTER, AND DO IT OFTEN to KEEP IT up-to-date! If you don't have a backup program, there are a lot of cloud services free you can use. That way if you are still having problems, you can do a factory reset it using your preinstalled recovery disk which is usually drive D, then you will be able to recover your programs and your computer will be as good as new.

    * Two days later, my phone service and the computer came out for a week, and they had to rewire my building to get it back. It was the first time in ten years that my landlord had to do any type of rewiring. I wait to see if I set a trend.

  • Management of switch software

    Hello

    I am trying to develop a system to monitor the components on the cards of PCB in the oven, it s essentially has a failure analysis of components such as C, resistors and capacitors.

    Here are some of my test system

    The test system must monitor the components on the PCB 1 year.

    I want to measure the resistances and abilities using a RLC to identify the problem. Failure of the resistance is identified with an open circuit and a failure of the capacitor is identified with a circuit short circuit/open. I have a 420 capacitances to measure and I would like to automate the measurement using multiplexers of NOR.

    I got to watch the first ability (C1) 3 minutes (which would be linked to the first input of the multiplexer), followed by second 3 minutes and so on. Once all 420 capacities are monitored, the loop must start from Capacitance C1.  I would like to know how to program the switches of the NOR. Could someone please suggest me how to proceed with this. ? Is good enough to automate Labview switches or should I go ahead with the switch management software? Can you please explain in detail because am a beginner in Labview?  Forward to your response. Thanks in advance

    Hello switcher.

    Yes, LabVIEW is an ideal programming environment! .

    I suppose you have no switch OR equipment at the present time.

    Measurement of the capacitance range are you watching?

    What voltage are the plugs at?  Looks like it's just a test section, but I guess the capacitors to be held at a constant DC bias?  (Otherwise, the test data that you collect is capacitance of the real world).

    Without any specific input except the number of capacitors, I recommend 5 multiplexers of PXI-2575 x configured as a 2 son 98 x 1 mux.  You can use the PXI-2575 x modules only 3 in mode 1 wire 196 x 1 if your DUJT capacity is sufficient to overcome the parasitic capacitance total of 420 caps (all the negative wires would be linked to the negative contribution of the IGS), but I recommend the approach 2-wire, because it isolates each CAP in a differential measurement.

    The PXI-4072 has a function of measure of ability.

    With respect to the software, I recommend using NOR-DAQmx switch API, but you can also use the OR-Switch and NI Switch Executive API as well.  However, I think that NI Switch Executive is excessive for this application, and it will take a unique session for each switch OR Switch module (OR-Switch is consistent IVI and IVI has no concept of linking several modules).

    .. ask away if you have any questions.  I'm not "wait I answered them: all in this first response."

  • OR 2 port 485 wire mode in Windows 7

    I have an old OR 2 port RS-485 PCI card (c. 1997).  Recently I neede to configure port 1 of 2-wire and 4-wire port 4.  Using Windows 7 and the latest version of measurement and Automation Explorer, I couldn't change the wireless mode.  The entire section is grayed out. I put the card in a Windows XP machine running the most recent measurement and Automation Explorer and I was able to set the thread mode.

    After you uninstall and install the drivers of the series and the card in the Windows 7 machine I could not yet set the wire by measurement and Automation Explorer or even program mode.  Through sheer dumb luck, I watched the com ports in the hardware Manager and found a button for advanced configuration.  A window with a menu drop-down allowed me to set the thread mode and it worked.

    Is it how 485 cards pci on a Windows 7 computer work now?  I am posting this because I had a devil of a time finding the setting and I hope that someone will be spared some frustration in the future.

    The parameters are gray because they are more accessible to users with administrator access. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, you must right click on the measurement and Automation Explorer icon and select "Run as Administrator".

  • How to manage the threads for TCP communication?

    Hello

    I have a project to control two separate applications (C++ and LabView) and two of them are implemented as server. Another client program (C++) is used to control applications. Communication between them are implemented using TCP socket. The client program sends the message to start or stop tasks on servers. The client program also sends time (HH) with the message start and end to determine when to start or stop.

    Application in C++ (server): Listening to the request for the connection and when gets one, it creates a thread of communication allowing to manage this and listen again to another connection. Communication wire crossing of handles and messages when it receives a start or a stop message, it creates a thread of timer with the received time to trigger a task at the time specified. And after that he expects the client message. So, here, when the thread (communication, timer) is necessary, it is created.

    In LabView (server): I tried to create the same as the C++ server. But, in manual of LabView and other discussions of the forum, I got that LabView is multithreaded and it can be done with the help of the loop independent. So, I had to create four loops in a diagram:

    1. wait the new connection

    2 manage the communication for the already received connection

    3. start the timer

    4 stop the timer

    and they are executed at the beginning of execution and communication between them are managed using local variables. But, 2, 3 and 4th loop can handle only one connection and it can handle another if the current is closed. The C++ application can handle multiple connections by creating the thread when it is necessary, but not at the beginning of the application.

    Is there a better way to implement this in LabView?

    Is it possible to manage multiple connections and create the diagram node/block (such as a wire) dynamically as C++?

    Thank you.

    There are several ways to do so in modern LabVIEW and you should probably seek the Finder example for TCP examples. The classic is to transfer the refnum of connecting the listening loop in a communications loop that adds to an array of login credentials and then constantly iterates through this array to make the communication. He works on LabVIEW 4.0 perfectly for me even for applications with basic HTTP communication protocol. But you must make sure that the communication for a connection is not delaying his work for reasons that would delay the handling of other connections too, because they are really of course worked on sequentially. If you encounter an error, the connection ID is closed and removed from the table.

    The other is that create you a VI that makes your entire communication and ends on an error or when the order quite. Make this reentrant VI and then launch it through VI server as the instance home, passing the refnum of newly received connection form the listening loop. Then use the method to Run let start and operate as an independent thread.

    For all these, you should be able to find an example in the example Finder when searching for TCP.

  • UIMsg_BreakOnRunTimeError of completely custom user interface management

    I develop a completely custom user interface for TestStand 2012 SP1 operator (without ActiveX / ApplicationMgr etc.;) "I know, I know...).  I'm trying UIMsg_BreakOnRunTimeError to deal appropriately and need advice.

    (1) my first question is what I call DisplayRunTimeErrorDialogEx() with the appropriate SequenceContext, but the dialog box disables many of the options. Under manage common error, recovery, ignore and abandon immediately (without cleaning) are grayed out (disabled) as well as the box jump of. With the same sequence SequenceEditor and the po sample UI display correctly this dialog box.  Any ideas on what is the cause?

    (2) Secondly, the best way to manage the selections to the user?  dontShowAgainForExecution, dontShowAgainForBatchand suspendExecution seem quite simple documentation.  i.e.

    If (dontShowAgainForExecution)
    execution. RTEOptionForThisExecution = RTEOptions.RTEOption_Continue;

    If (dontShowAgainForBatch)
    thread. SetBatchRTEOption (RTEOptions.RTEOption_Continue);

    If (suspendExecution is false)
    execution. RESUME(); Fix? Execution seems already paused. What to do if this value is true?

    Now what about the runTimeErrorAction?  I guess for RTEOption_Abort the word execution of . Abort().  What are the appropriate steps to RTEOption_Continue, RTEOption_Ignore, RTEOption_Retry, & RTEOption_ShowDialog?

    (3) Finally, once the dialog box is closed, my execution ends with the result success rather than error state.  What happens here?

    Your help is appreciated as always,

    -Terrence Jones

    (1) this is probably the user privileges, you may either not connected with user at all or the user has privileges to debug. If you do not use the users, you can disable the privilege check in the options of the station.

    (2) something like this:

    void ApplyRTESetting (TS:equenceContextPtr sequenceContext, TS::RTEOptions rteOption, bool breakExecution)
    {
    Thread TS::ThreadPtr = sequenceContext-> thread;
    Execution TS::ExecutionPtr = sequenceContext-> run;

    Switch (rteOption)
    {
    case TS::RTEOption_ShowDialog:
    case TS::RTEOption_Continue:
    case TS::RTEOption_Abort:
    wire-> ClearTemporaryBreakpoint();
    break;
    by default:
    break;
    }

    do action according to the selected option
    Switch (rteOption)
    {
    case TS::RTEOption_Retry:
    sequenceContext-> NextStepIndex is sequenceContext-> StepIndex;.
    wire-> ClearCurrentRTE();
    If (! breakExecution)
    execution-> Resume();
    break;
    case TS::RTEOption_Continue:
    If (! breakExecution)
    execution-> Resume();
    break;
    case TS::RTEOption_Ignore:
    wire-> ClearCurrentRTE();
    If (! breakExecution)
    execution-> Resume();
    break;
    case TS::RTEOption_Abort:
    execution-> Abort();
    break;
    }
    }

    Also for the two other parameters we generally use the rteoption of the dialog rather than continue to hardcode, but you can do this job, how you want if you prefer different behavior:

    Example:

    If (dontShowAgainForExecution)
    context-> run-> RTEOptionForThisExecution = rteOption;

    If (dontShowAgainForBatch)
    context-> thread-> SetBatchRTEOption (rteOption);

    (3) maybe you call ClearCurrentRTE() to ignore alternatives.

    Hope this helps,

    -Doug
