C250 detected as e200 in MTP mode

Using Autodetect, RB utility returns "Sansa e200 in MTP mode found. You need to change your player in MSC mode for the installation. Except if you have changed this installation will fail! "The screen of the device reads"Please connect USB Mini - B-> Device USB2.0 MSD Mode"I think I read all posts in this forum that even alluded to are of interest. I use WinXP Home and "My Computer" shows the device as 16 MB-Format (E the version.txt file reads as follows: Version Info: product Rev.: Code PP5022BF - 06.10 - S301 - 06.10 - S301.01.05PRT of the Base: 06.10 - S301 - 06.10 - S301.01.05PRT ODM ver.: S301 - 06.10 - S301.01.05PRT OEM ver.: S301.01.05PRT Type of Build: RT Build Date: 2007.04.16 Build number: (Build 13.26) when I unplug the USB cable, a "Upgrade is complete system reset" message flashes by.) I can't get Windows or the device to recognize that I have a (formatted in FAT 32) map memory Micro SD 8Gbyte inserted (also SanDisk). 2G of storage is simply not enough (and it seems pretty wobbly Sansa OS cannot recognize the external memory without help). The dialog box for "Install Rockbox on your audio player" claims success with Rockbox 3.7 v Stable but when I unplug my laptop and restart the music player (no USB cable), nothing seems to have changed. Specifically, the additional storage space never appears and there is no new user interface. I've been watching it for a few hours, from the manual on the forums and vice versa. What Miss me?

Given that I do not have a menu entry "settings > USB Mode ', can you suggest just another way to get to MSC Mode? Judging by the other forum posts, 01.01.05P (the version that came with my camera) does not offer this possibility.

Update your firmware. This should give you the USB option. You will however, need to know if it is a v1 or v2 model.

If it worked before wiping the disc, then it is likely, you are missing a player specific to material not included in WIndows XP.  Log on to the gateway website and download the drivers for the chipset and network.  Naturally, you will need to use a wired network connection.

In general, Gateway provides the drivers specific to the hardware on a recovery of the system partition, and they also provide a tool so you can burn data on CD/DVD restore.  Do you stil have this partition or did you remove it?

Every time I buy a PC, I always download copies of the material of the web site of the vendor-specific drivers and keep them on a flash drive, so that they are available when I wipe a PC and reinstall.  I also do the recovery partition recovery disks.

  • Clip not recognized on PC in MTP mode

    Hi all

I have a Sansa 2.0 G clip. I almost never update the music on my clip but I went to do a few months ago and couldn't recognize my clip. So after some research, I made an update firmware to 01.01.32A. After that, I saw is no longer my music. I did no research, just assumed that erased from my hard drive firmware update. So, I proceeded to copy songs on my video, but was confused about the minimum space.

Shortly after, I realized, that I probably had all my songs (originally) loading of PSG, but after the upgrade happened at the MSC and had loaded a few songs in MSC mode. In any case - now I REALLY want to move a few songs and seem unable to get my clip to be recognized in MTP mode.

I went into the settings USB, picked the PSG, but when I plug it in--nothing happens. I don't hold the keys on the clip when I plug.

I tried to do due diligence here by reading the guide the user and research forums - but I don't seem to find how to get my PC to recognize my clip in MTP mode.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

  • E260 itself switched to MTP mode?

    I have a sansa e260 EU w/o runing FM. New firmware, 01.02.24E

It was running under MSC. Recently, Vista, I installed the new update of sansa and plugged my player. There is no directory of MUSIC in there, but it was there before.

I unplugged, switched to MTP mode and found the music. I prefer the MSC, covers album folder.jpg and all mode. I have to remove all music from PSG and the copy in the back of my PC to a freshly created in MSC mode MUSIC folder? Is there another way to solve this problem?

If you want to switch to MSC mode exclusively, one possibility would be to do what you are thinking: copy all files on computer through MTP mode and then put them on the player in MSC mode.  I would like to format the drive before reloading in order to free the memory.

Another recommendation would be to create a folder named something else outside of MUSIC.  Sometimes, the player he gets into his head to hide this folder.  It can be unhid, but why bother when you can just use a different folder?  Use something like my MUSIC or similar.

Edit: By the way, the player always returns to the default (auto or MTP) USB mode after the firmware update.

  • Won´t work of the detonators (connect) in MTP mode / winamp disorder

Edit: re-installed winamp and tadaaa: recognized mtp device. BUT: as soon as winamp has loaded, it crashes. Winamp simply closed, no error message, nothing. PLEASE, I BEG YOU! Any program to manage the * beep * playlists! (any prog that doesn´t just crash)

I tried to connect in MSC and that works perfectly, but almost all of my stuff is saved in MTP mode via mediaplayer (which is exactly what will not work) and I want at least to remove. The player is revision 1, firmware version V01.02.26E and I am trying to use it under XPsp2. I have tried several mediaplayers, same result: will not work. Is it possible to control less and access the files saved in MTP mode with ANY program? Reverend last firmware enabled to use normal folders as you now so no need overall of the PSG-crap anyway. OK, I was able to just cables it and be done with it, but then the data I want to keep is also party. Please tell me West a way to solve this problem without putting in the shape of the cursed thing. Once again: if I switch to MTP and just plug it in NOTHING happens. Winamp simply said: no portable device connected.

FOUND a SOLUTION! WMP10 is the way. (or at least now it works) I installed WMP10, then is gone to the materiel management where he showed the "rocket" with a yellow questionmark, right click, reinstall the driver, search online and go. He found something online, installed and my winamp trotted. Can I change all the stuff normally. Looks like it s only the WMP11 DURATION as f * s autour in the background. Here´s what you need to do: ditch WMP11 and WMP11 runtime via management software (if that damn profane your hard drive), drivers for PSG in the management of the gap material, get and install WMP10, then go to hardware management and would search for drivers online. Install these drivers, start winamp and you need is winamp with the support of the PSG. HA, I m proud of me.

  • MTP mode is no longer recognized by the computer

I have a Sansa e280v1. When I bought this mp3, I have not had any problems to connect the unit to my computer and download of my playlists. I now try to reconnect the device to my computer in MTP mode, and the computer does not recognize it. I went to MSC mode and the computer recognizes very well. However, in this mode, the playlist will not download but songs in playlists will download individually. I've seen this similar to this problem in these forums, but I did find something that helps me yet. I read in one place where the problem of recognition of the PSG is on the side of the computer. How can I fix that if this is true? I tried to reset, download updates, return to factory etc.

Download Windows Media Player 10 or 11 from www.microsoft.com and reinstall it. This usually fixes things. Next step, but only if this does not work, is to get the "MTP Porting Kit" from Microsoft and install it.

Let us know if those who help or not.

The Bios does not detect the drive. I noticed that the SATA in the BIOS mode option has been put on AHCI. I changed the ATA mode and the BIOS has detected the drive.

However when I try to install a clean version of Windows 7 (Dell OEM disc), to halfway to the installation Setup will fail. I noticed that the reason why it will fail, is that the installation process now does not see the hard drive.

Can someone tell me what steps to take to do the installation?

Thank you guys for helping me solve this problem!

When you plug the phone for the first time, do you have the security warning popup in the phone to allow your connection to the PC? Also, have you tried using a different USB cable because I saw a few strings that load but not transfer files. Are you also connected to this PC as an administrator?

  • File transfer using the PSG on a fedora 20 system

    Hello

I have a Sansa clip + and am having a few problems with files transferrring on the device from a Linux box using the PSG.

I'm running fedora 20 that automatically detects the device in MTP mode and it rises automatically.
What I read, it uses gvfs-PSG to connect to the device and the camera settles on a location, as:
    /Run/user/1000/gvfs/mtp\:host\=%5Busb%3A001%2C009%5d

I can see the files under internal memory/PSG in both file manager and command line.

However, I have problems of transfer of files from my computer to the device.
Using the file manager, it seems that I can copy MP3s from the computer to the device, but when I unplug the unit and look for the files copied to the device, that I can not find them.
Re-connect the device to the computer files that I copied are visible on the device.
Someone at - it an idea why I can't see the files copied to the device?

What I read fedora 20 uses a tool called gvfs-PSG to connect through the PSG. Did someone knows something about this tool and how does fedora use?
Anyone know how I can use it to transfer files to the device from the command line?

    ---------------------------------

I also read on the various positions that libmtp can be used for the transfer of files through the PSG. However I cannot connect using this, I guess because the device is already connected using some fedora method uses when it is plugeed in.
So I'm also trying to know a little more about what makes fedora when I plug a MTP device.
What process/process it TI that connects car when the device is connected?
What tool is used to mount the device when I plug?
How can I (UN) mount the device manually?
What is the difference between gvfs-PSG and libmtp? One other use?

Anyone know anything about the PSG on fedora 20? Or where I can be able to know about it? I came in white so far.

Why not use MSC in Windows and Linux? In my experience, PSG is enough glitchy in the two operating systems and there is really no advantage on MSC for most people.

  • Cannot find files on sd card mp3

    said to post this here...

Hi I have an e280 v1 and love, have had very few probs with it.

I just put audio books on the sd card and it's not finding them. I have others there and is finding those so he found the card. I checked and they have the ex .mp3 file, so I don't see why. Gender was a little screwed up, but I fixed that.

Any other ideas why do not find them?

What is the USB Mode (under settings) on the Sansa?

It's Auto Detect, he goes to MTP mode if it finds any Windows Media Player 10 or 11, mode MSC (plain USB) if it isn't. XP has WMP 9 so that the files can have exceeded by MSC. Vista has 10 or 11, so it's move to PSG. The Sansa should see all of the files anyway, but maybe it's not.

In any case, go to the MSC, no automatic detection. Then, Vista should see both drives. Then try to send the books even more.

  • Clip hangs up

I would like some advice with clip of my wife.  When she turned on this morning, it crashes just straight up on the image of the "four leaf clover".  He's not going beyond that.  I did the soft reboot (hold down the button for 15 seconds) and it's the only way I can turn the unit off.  I tried to connect to the computer in MSC mode the power switch lock and now the Center button while plugging it into the PC.  Sometimes, it will connect and be visible in 'My Computer' but most of the time that it is not.  About half of the time, I get an error message about 'USB device' not recognized.  I am running Vista.  Any ideas anyone?

Yes, I have tired everything I can find on this forum to reset for reformatting, change of automatic detection in MFC in MTP mode, try on different computers (XP vs Vista), various cables, etc..  I finally gave up and called support.  They had me try to reformat using Windows, and when Windows has given to reformat it with an error, support surrenders too!  Since it's under warranty, they will replace it for me.  so, it's the final solution I guess...

You may need an external powered USB hub.

You should probably check with iPod support as well.

Set the MP3 MTP Mode for WMP11 sync - mode MSC to treat the MP3 as a reader.

Make sure that Windows is updated appropriately that there have been several USB updates.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

If no joy follow these steps:

You may need a powered hub. (all the USB ports on your computer are not powered, often only 2)

    Try these:

    Make a Restore Point

Control Panel - Device Manager - click in the empty area - VIEW - show hidden devices

Here, your devices are the MP3 player.

Now look everywhere EXCEPT the USB controllers for your devices (cannot be found) and if you find
It RIGHT CLICK and UNINSTALL all.

now go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers in the category, but the category itself.

    APPLY/OK

    RESET

This refresh battery USB and hopefully it will allow the unit to install. (You may need a powered hub)

Here is the similar procedure under XP, Vista is the same, except that we need clear the specific devices if
    present.

This is a utility to help you, but do 1 above.

USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices currently connected to your computer, thus

You want to delete all instances of the device then restart. -.

If the above does not work (and it should be considered the preparatory work).

This works for any MP3 player when the USB stack is not corrupted:

1 player to delete and restart computer - switch to MTP mode on your MP3 player
