  I put t understand that hear you with black screen goes but try it please change power for certain power plan settings.
  There you can find the settings on the brightness, turn off the display and put the computer to sleep.

  It is a really strange question. This dim option is available under Win7, but not under Vista.
  You have different levels of brightness for each power plan?
  You always use the same power plan when your laptop is running on battery and power running?

  I think there is no way to recover your older version of BIOS that you can not download it. Is the only option that you have, take your laptop to ASP and let them Downgrader your BIOS.

  (3) windows operating system you are using?
  Try to change the screen saver and check if you face the same problem.

  I plugged my Compaq 420 on my HD TV via a VGA cable.

  Now, I love watching videos of youtube on my HD TV.

  I have a printer HP Photosmart 5520 and for the past week or so he started to crash after 15 minutes is powered by electricity (simultaneously 'Power Saving Mode' is set to on).

  The printer is connected to my router MikroTik RB2011 and has a static IP address, but I don't think that this has to do any that the printer is unresponsive to any physical buttons as mentioned below.
