• PIX 515E failover

  I have a pair of PIX 515E (6.3) running in failover mode. They are currently connected to a single chassis base. We are upgrading our network with the heart, dual 6500's. Is there a way to connect each PIX to a separate kernel (1 PIX - Core1, PIX 2 - Core2) to allow a failure of the base?

  Core 1 and Core 2 will have a L2 link between them. If the current active PIX is connected to Core1 and Core 1 dies, this would not lead to support PIX failover. All LAN traffic would go through Core 2, but since he does not have an active path to the active PIX 1, traffic would drop. My reasoning is correct?

• PIX failover message

  I've recently updated the key for activation on a PIX and now get the message:

  ========================== NOTICE =========================

  This machine has been approved as a unit of secondary failover

  but it lacks a connection to a primary PIX entirely under license.

  Please check the connection of cable to failover to the

  primary system. This machine will restart at intervals

  in its current state.

  I don't want to use failover.

  I tried to disconnect the connector of switch but no change.

  So I have two problems, 1) whenever I make a configuration change, I get the "can not sync config are you high school", but more 2) he worry about the States in the above message that the device will restart at intervals!

  Anyone know how to disable this?

  If you do not have this key in the activation message befor Exchange, then you got the incorrect license key. This means that you downgrated a PIX entirely under license in a PIX failover. Reply to the email that you have received the key to and ask the right key. Until you get the right key, your PIX will restart every day.

  I got a bad hit some time ago, that has been disable IPSEC and updated remotely. After the restart, I had to get out there and change the key because the VPN broke down.

  Nothing beats failover is similar to what you have in the PIX, but the 30 x 0 has two features that work the same way.

  Load Balancing:

  Set up a group of 2 or more hubs in the form of load balancing. This group shares a logical IP that the user connects to, abd between them hubs will actually connect the user to the less loaded hub. If a hub fails, all users connected to the right that are disconnected, but they can reconnect now without doing any client changes and they get connected to one of the other hubs.

  Redundancy.

  Similar to balancing where the Group of hubs share IP addresses that the user connects to, but in this case the hubs decide on a primary and a backup. all users connect to primary, if that fails, they will are disconnected, but again, they can re - connect to without making any customer of changes, and they will connect to the hub of backup.

  Load Balancing is better that the cause of the redundancy (in my opinion) If you have a failure, at least you don't lose some of your users, not all. L2L tunnels in both scenarios is transparent and requires no user interaction.

• PIX 6.3 (4) failover strangeness with VLAN

  I have a failover pair 535 6.3 (4) running and have experienced strange things while he was trying to get the dynamic failover to work. We use the serial cable to failover and a GE dedicated to the traffic of State via a cable directly connected x. We have a mix of standard interfaces for non - VLAN'ed, but also a physical I / f including 10 ~ VLAN. We are well within the limits of i / f allowed on the PIX so that isn't a problem. Also the

  VLAN'ed i / f on the two firewalls connects via a 802. 1 q trunk on the same switch Procurve 9315. All the required them VLAN is configured as marked on the two ports on the switch.

  The problem we had was that all as-based interfaces on the VLAN and physics i / f associated with these virtual local networks were perpetually in the State (pending) and we had no stats in the status section of the command 'show fail', which implies to me that stateful failover did not in fact. Failover works and traffic passes regardless of which firewall is enabled.

  Based on things I've read that I concluded that the problem is probably that 'Hello' messages were not being seen on each VLAN. So I did a bunch of capture on the VLAN different i / f of the PIX expecting to see outgoing Hello in the local unit, but saw nothing. Then I had a thought that maybe they were sent out without a label on the physical I / f, so I made a capture on it and also got nothing else than to the Hellos coming out to the physical interface.

  What we did that fixed it was to add the VLAN physics to the list of allowed VLANS labeled on firewall connected switch ports. As if by magic the physics I / f to the Normal State, as did all the local VIRTUAL network interfaces, and we started to get statistics on the State of the output of the show fail command section.

  And yet a capture on any of the interfaces VLAN does still not show the Hellos, and a capture on the physical displays now the bidirectional Hello for the physical LAN. Weird.

  So my questions are:

  1 > why the VLAN interfaces are dependent on their physical I / f for failover. I was told that you need not have any IP or configured for physical integrity, nameif I / f it's just must be enabled for the VLAN I / fs to work.

  2 > how are the VLAN I / f passing Hellos to the other.

  (1) why is a good question. AFAIK that is according to the doc (same link below)

  "When you set up failover for an interface VLAN, Hello packets are sent through the physical interface, so the physical interface must be configured with an ip address."

  So basically it looks like helo packets are sent only on physical interfaces (dumped on any vlan you put them) and the VLAN will be "failover" If the pix, but if you had a failure in one vlan particular the pix would not notice it until the vlan the physical interface has been awarded to failed.

  Of course, it works in the equivalent level of the FWSM code - but FWSM never had the physical interfaces.

  The train 7.x supports subinterfaces, obviously.

• external hard drive is missing. But drive turn on!

  My Iomega external hard drive seems to be missing on my mac. But I see the drive light on when you are connected to the USB port.

  I use an old iMac & an Iomega hard drive that worked without problem. I took travel & when I got home, I connected on the iMac, but I don't see the icon. I find deposit on Finder & also I tried turning / slideshow, external drive on Finder.I see all other connected external drives but not this one. I do not see it listed in the disc utilities. I tried to connect to another Mac & still have the same problem. Can someone tell me what is happening?

  I've never used the Iomega drivers on the mac, but everything worked well. Do I need to download Iomega drivers?

  It seems that the Iomega company is more then what I do and who should I speak?

  I use the last BONES of El capitan.

  I'm not able to get the display of macbook to smart tv via HDMI cable.  Here are some of the conclusions that I have. Can someone please shed some light on this weird question.

  At this point, I am not able to understand where is the problem... TV or Macbook

  Hmm. Have you tried to get your friend or someone connect to your Samsung Smart TV?  It does seem like your Macbook or the cable are the issue.

  Edit: actually re read your post. I think that to see the option detect go to Preferences > poster under view press on and hold down the option key. bottom right, it should appear.

  I used to connect to a projector using a cable hdmi without issue but when ever I plug the cable two screens (mac and projector) recently received completely dark, I already tried to delete some files .plist from my record of preference and pressing shift-control-option and turning the button, nor worked. any ideas how to fix?

• 750-103D want: I want to install a 3rd HARD drive but the system will not start

  Desktop motherboard has 5 heads SATA (of which 2 were used for the first DvD and HARD disk in the original Setup) and the box has 3 bays for HARD drive, but there is no additional power from the PSU cable.

  I installed a new SSD as my main and designated record the 1 TB of HARD drive that came with the desktop as my secondary school and office works just great.

  Now I tried to install an another 1.5 TB HARD drive for storage. I used a SATA power cable Y (1 male to 2 females) to extend the existing cable. However, to my great disappointment, the system is unable to start up. I guess that supply POWER 300 watts current is insufficient to start 3 disks to a single supply with extension cable.

  Issues related to the:

  1] sells HP a 500-watt power supply with power cable for SATA 3 HARD drive?

  [2] is a compatible power supply on the market (ie. not HP) who can stand in 750-103D envy? Brand/model and how much?

  Probably, you have misunderstood my response.  Unplug the original HD boot drive.

  Your question is not the power supply lack of insufficient power.  I have observed remains with HP computers with a power supply that would support three HDs off a 300 Watt SATA power cable voltage.

  Perhaps the third HD is formatted incorrectly or is defective.  The other possibility is that your SATA Y cable connection is defective.  You also need good 5V and 12V.  In addition, if you have made any hardware changes to your PC you have not indicated, then it is possible that you may need a bigger power supply.

• Copy to printer LaserJet M1522: but Windows says it's on paper

  My Laserjet M1522 copies perfectly but widows tells me it is out of paper when I try to print on the network.  I restarted the network, the computer and the printer. Is there anything else I can try?

  When the computer tells you that the printer is in paper that means you have a problem of communication between the printer and the computer.  I guess that the printer is connected to the network and is loaded on the computer using the standard tcp/ip Protocol.  If this is the case, go to the reports menu on the printer and print a config page or a Network Setup page and look at the specified ip address.  Sometimes printers are losing the manual adjustment that was made years before and return to dhcp and find a new IP, preventing local computers to print to it.  To see if you can communicate with the printer on the network, simply type the printer ip address in your web browser on the computer.  You should get a web page.  If you have not, there is a problem with your connection to the network, cable or spending issues.  Reset the printer and see if he can find a new ip address, if this is the case.  Also, check the lights in the back where the ethernet cable is connected.  There should be flashing green and yellow lights.  If no light there is a problem with the cable, the network, or the printer port.  Whatever he says, most of the time when you have a problem where you get the out of paper message it occurs when the printer is connected locally to a pc via a usb cable and if that is the case, you should check this link and communication between this computer and the printer and if shared between the shared computer and reset the network.

• 15 - f039wm: BIOS does not detect hard drives until it performs a diagnostic search

  Then, I decided to go back to the integrated diagnostic tools (F2 at startup) and see what would happen. Hard drive has been detected and passed the Quick Test. I have a Windows install CD in and after that I left the screen he ended up launching the installation disc. I decided to try just a new set of drivers to see if the disc could be detected, but that the disc was already detected and just sitting there, ready for the installation of the software.

  I have installed 8.1 on it and did the upgrade of Windows 10 to the owner and I noticed something serious.  Whenever I restarted (key here being a full reboot), the drive was not detected and I would get an error in DEVICE of START-UP INACCESSIBLE when he tried to load Windows. I ended up to play with the drive and launch the troubleshooting menus command prompt.

  I tried to run diskpart, and when I typed "list disk" inside diskpart and he told me that there are no drives found. Large.

Anyone have this problem, it is rather strange to me, and I saw a lot of machines to act strangely.

  So, to summarize:

  Hard drive is not detected at least that I force diagnostic analysis of any type on the hard drive and come out and let it boot.

  What I tried:

  New hard drive

  Reconnect the hard drive

  BIOS settings - boot order, security keys allowed Secure Boot on / off, Legacy Boot on / off, (there no option of detection or ahci in the BIOS).

   

  Many windows install environments, non-windows - disk environments is ever detected by the BIOS, I guess

   

  Flashed the BIOS updated

  Reinstall Windows (back to 8.1 with Bing and question persists, persists on Windows 10 institutions)

   

  DiskPart on Windows Installer (shift + f10 - prompt "diskpart" command, then in diskpart: 'list disk' which wouldn't say no disk).

   

  Ordered a new cable (pending on this one)

  What gets me, is that it works whenever I have diagnostic scan before starting. Every time. It fails on a restart cold without doing so. I looked on the Board for the damage of physical strength and the liquid, but do not see anything to really. I'm guessing that it was abandoned. Any ideas on what else to try? I'm running out of ideas on this one.

  Try the new cable, but I think you look a very bad mother board it.

  I just bought the Sony BDP-S370 and I tried to connect using a wired connection. I put my settings in and nothing I also did with 'AUTO' settings and nothing. I called Sony and they could not help I called comcast and none help so am hoping that some on hear can help.

  Congratulations on the purchase of your new Blu Ray player. Apologies, you experience network problems. Auto is fine for Setup, but when you need solving problems, you must look at all the parties involved. Check first is the layers of the devices.

  Comcast Modem > router > wired connection to the player.

  Comcast Modem/Router > wired connection to the player

  If you can connect directly to the modem try this first
  (not all modems will allow this)
  Once you have determined which device is blocking access, check your IP address.

  You can find the network settings of > networking > Internet status > and if your ip address is valid as 192.168.x.xx then the router is good, but no communication to the Modem.

  If you have an IP address under network settings of 169.xx.xx.xx then this is a universal car fake address created with no connectivity. and it could be your cable or other issues.
