Calling JavaScript from a standalone SWF (outside the browser)?

Can a SWF file, read locally in a folder on my PC, make a call to a function in a JavaScript file?

I am faced with a project where the technical architect prescribed that all the existing content in a JavaScript all-in-one, giant file. With my usual external content experience, use of XML, I've always been able to load in XML format in the SWF file directly (for example, while displaying the SWF in the authoring environment Flash - a very quick way to view your SWF file), as well as when the SWF file is actually seen on the Web site. However, the JavaScript approach, my only experience tells me that the SWF file must be embedded in HTML until it had access to the JS functions.

Does anyone know how it's - or if this - cannot be achieved?

Without knowing any better, I guess the SWF must directly access the *.js file before he could call a function...

Thanks in advance!

I don't see how it could be done without a container of flash player.

  • How to center align SWF in the browser

    I used the flash publishing feature, but it does not seem to focus the SWF in the browser. Why is there a centering function on the publication settings, on the HTML tab if it does not Center the SWF? It works if you set Dimensions percent but that exposes the area beyond the stage and I don't want to be seen. In addition, causing poorly positioned movieclips. The Alignment Flash should have been disabled if the Dimensions are not defined percent. Everyone does not agree? Can someone help me solve this problem? Perhaps a simple script that Center my swf file in a browser... Any help much appreciated.

  • Developer10g forms run outside the browser

    Hello world

    I'm new with the form 10g developer

    I built a form successfully and run it, but when it runs, it runs in a window (like Java applet), but not in the browser

    My question is

    Is it possible to run the form that I build in the Internet browser?

    Here is a picture of the running form

    s2.jpg

    Thnaks,

    Of course, simply change your formsweb.cfg and change the seperateFrame = True to seperateFrame = False.  This is the setting that controls if the application forms will take place inside or outside the browser.

  • I can manually access and set up a profile outside the browser?

    I've set up a proxy in the browser using an address of a site Web proxy list and right after that I did this it crashed everytime I tried to open the browser. I searched on Chrome, trying to find a way to access my settings outside of the browser manually since I couldn't even go to the Explorer, and I was directed to my profile. No website only says how to change settings, but they said that my settings were contained in the profiles. I thought to myself, "because all my settings are in this profile, delete and reinstall of Firefox should fix." Unfortunately, there is no and now I have absolutely no way to make a new profile and whenever I try to open Firefox it says I have an instance of the application that is already running.

    Hello

    Please try firefox - p no distance in the Start > run box (or press windows + R if the box run is not present), delete all profiles with the files into it and create a new one. See also Firefox profile & files folder and backup.

  • Page transitions - Preview SWF in the browser does not

    I created a 20 page booklet in indesign and have applied a page transition effect to all pages (turn page). Why when I view it in SWF Preview in the browser to test it adds a blank page before the cover and after the last page?

    Thank you

    Rob, do not mix the pages to create a distributed 1 & 2 for that to happen. You can start the document with a single page. You can place an image (#999999) to the left of the first page. Make sure that the framework is broad enough to cover this dead zone and it touches the first page.

    Hi there, this problem affects my Flex 3 app when it is viewed using Firefox for Mac.

    If the user drags the scroll bar, and then releases the mouse outside of THE BROWSER, the scroll bar doesn't get released and continues to scroll the content once the user hovers over the mouse back Flex content.

    Please see this link in Mac/Firefox and you'll see what I mean:

  • a new tab opens whenever I do a search on my home page, how can I stop this from happening? I checked the browser.search.openintab and the value is set to FALSE, any ideas?

    I want all my research just to stay on the same tab I have already opened.

    The browser.search.openintab pref applies to the search bar (Google) on the Navigation toolbar and do not search bars on web pages.

  • Firefox is no longer new window when I drag the contents of the active window outside the browser.

    After just upgrading to Firefox 9 of Firefox 3.6, I noticed that a certain element is missing. In the old version, I could drag the contents of the tab out of the browser or the active window and it would automatically force this content in its own window again. I found this feature extremely useful, and I can do it no longer. That's happened? There just is no longer supported or is this a bug? If it is not supported, how can I reopen the current window/tab in a window again like before?

    It works if you drag the tab slightly downwards in the browser window?

  • How I can configure Adobe to open the pdf from a website secure in the browser, it just appears and asks to open, save or download. We want to just open the PDF directly in the browser with no popups, using IE 11

    Hello

    We are running Internet Explore 11 with the latest version of Adobe Reader.

    found when users connect to a secure website and a pdf links out there, it does not open these pdf directly in the browser, he wants to save them, and then open them.

    is this what we can change to allow them to be opened directly in the browser?

    There is nothing you can do about it on your end. It is a parameter of the

    browser of the user who accessed the file.

  • Could not open the PDF outside the browser without "Save as" dialog box.

    Hello

    We have currently upgraded Acrobat 8 standard, Acrobat 10.1.6. On our old version of Acrobat, when we unchecked the option in the preferences - Internet - view the PDF in the browser, it would open files in a new window, Acrobat.

    With X installed, we don't seem to have this option more. Things turn one of the two following ways:

    Display in browser checked = PDF is displayed in the browser (IE9)

    Uncontrolled browser display = save as dialog box appears when you click the link in the browser

    It doesn't seem to be the solution we front aircraft, where there is enough to open the file in a new window, Acrobat.

    Are there any settings that would back this expected behavior of my user?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

    Hello

    Browsers are evolving so quickly (a few months) it was impossible to keep this work in all browsers. The setting is left as is his preference of registry.

    There is a cmd line property that works. See the Administrator's Guide: www.adobe.com/go/acrobatetk.

  • calling Javascript from breast method

    Hello

    How to call a method from itself? I want to call functionA or functionC of the specified location. I tried:

    this.functionA ();

    functionA();

    testObject.functionA ();

    but none of those who seem to be working.

    testObject = function()
    {
      this.functionA = function()
      {
        functionB = function()
        {
          // CALL functionA OR functionC FROM HERE
        }

        functionB();
      };

      this.functionC = function()
      {
      };
    }

    Thank you

    Looks like it works.

    testObject = function()
    {
      var testObjectThis = this;

      this.functionA = function()
      {
        functionB = function()
        {
          this.functionA();
          this.functionC();
        }

        functionB();
      };

      this.functionC = function()
      {
      };
    }

  • Layer mask to prevent students from going too far outside the head on atypical forms of head

    For example, a frog head straight research has plenty of space to just cover your students should I look too far. If some sort of code called mask would keep another layer of screening outside it would be awesome!

    Thanks for the request. Have a mask clipping support or equivalent to deal with students is something that we are considering. For now, you might be able to diminish the value of the parameter eye gaze strength (in the behavior of face) in order to reduce the distance.
