calories or kilojoules

My watch is spent in kilojoules. How can I move this back to calories?

Hello

On your watch, open workout app and select this option to start a race in the open air.

When the goal screen, swipe left / right to the goal of kilojoules. Force press on this screen, then choose calories.

Output of the training app (go back one screen by pressing Cancel, then press the digital Crown).

The activity app now shows the calories (and calories will be used also for future training in the application of the workout).

  • Activity app kilojoules to calories

    Hi all

I'm trying to set my activity to track my activity in calories rather than in kilojoules.

I changed the setting with success in the application of the workout, but do not follow these settings in the application of the activity.

My daily activity is always saved as kilojoules rather calories

    Help, please!

HI - try the following steps:

On your iPhone, in health app (red heart on a white background), go to: health information > energy Active > unit > if it is not already set to calories (after your changes in the application of the workout), you can change it now.

-Restart your watch: press and hold the button side until you see the cursor off the power; Drag the slider to turn off (wait until it finishes). Press and hold down the side button until you see the Apple logo.

The application of activity on your watch should show now also the calories.

  • Apple Watch 'Move' is in kilojoules everthing else is calories?

Previously I had set up the iphone and watch to show the calories. I just have to watch OS 2.1 update and now watch the activity app displays 'Move' in kilojoules, but everything else is good calorie - that is to say the watch workouts are all calorie, iPhone activity shows Move in calories and calorie workouts. all parameters in the application of health are calorie. I can't understand how to get the app activity watch to show movement in calories?

    Hi Troy

It can help to restart your iPhone and your watch. Close the two devices together, and then restart your iPhone first:

    -To switch off your watch: press and hold the button side until you see the cursor off the power; slide it to turn off;

-To switch on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

  • Active measure of calories during the bike ride

    Hello

I do a lot of road cycling and also use my Apple Watch to measure my fitness activity.

I used the option open air training on rides Cycle and it seems good but drain the battery of the watch. I don't really it measure the speed and distance as my Garmin that does very well and is also linked to Strava, but I don't want the watch to measure my year, and the number of calories active.

So, I tried cycling without starting a workout. The watch is a precise measure of the amount of time work, I exercised, but the number of calories burned seem much less than if I used a training to measure the same route.

The question is, which is more accurate? A workout outdoor Cycle or while leaving the watch to do its own thing? I suspect the former. This then begs the question, how shows measure of calories burned.

    Thank you very much

    Phil

    Hi Phil

The external Cycle estimate is more accurate.

When recording a workout outdoor Cycle, Apple Watch esteem Active Energy (calories / kilojoules) using a calculation that is suitable for this type of activity. Apple has not released details of the calculation method.

  • Measure calories burned when using drive

    Hello

The question I have is will be your Apple Watch measure speed of combustion of different calories for the same distance at the same time, when to do using workout app as opposed to not use the app to drive?

The reason for the question is that I read by using the training app, Apple Watch switches on the relevant sensors. Does this mean that these other motion detectors are normally off and if that affect the accuracy of the measure of calories burned during exercise?

    Concerning

    Hello

Yes - followed by an open-air market, for example, through the training app can result in a more accurate estimate of your active Calories burned during this activity.

When follow you an activity using the application of the training session and specify a type of activity, your watch uses the most appropriate sensors and data sources to estimate the outcome of this workout.

For example, when you save an open air market:

    • If you also take your iPhone along (with compatible Bluetooth and location Services), your watch can access the GPS of the iPhone data when estimating the PACE and distance.
    • If you do not take your iPhone along, the watch relies on data from the accelerometer in the estimate of the PACE and distance.
    • Data from the heart rate sensor is used during the estimation of the Active Calories, including calculations which are adapted to this type of activity specified.

Calibrate your watch also helps to improve the accuracy of the different estimates made by the activity and workout app app. More information and instructions for calibration of your watch (including to reset all calibration data) are available via the link below. Estimates of the results will also depend on your personal information. To verify that this is correct - and update over time:

    • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: My Watch tab > health > edit - tap and adjust the settings, then press on in fact.

  • Apple Watch Calorie change tracking after the update

This weekend I upgraded my watch v2.2.2 Watch OS and my phone to the iOS v9.3.3.

Before this update, I would generally work everyday for about 2.5 hours (treadmill walk). I use my watch used to be in unison with the treadmill C1800. Both would record almost identical values for markets (in the tens of thousand) miles and calories (usually less than 50).

Since the update my active calories for the same training sessions decreased by about 25-30% on the watch. I followed the instructions to recalibrate the watch, but nothing has changed.

For example, today I walked for an hour in the morning at the speed and incline typical. The treadmills showed that I burned for 862 calories. The watch showed that I burned TOTAL 669 calories (calories active were about 100 less). Miles are still almost identical as what is shown on the treadmill.

My number of calories used to be pretty close to 100 burned by 1000 measures. Today I am currently at 27 412 stages, 14.8 miles and 1883 calories active (at 16:30). My last full day of activities recorded before the update was 24 445 steps, 13,47 miles and calories 2 488. I went from 9.82 steps/calorie 14.55 steps/calorie. I have hundreds of workouts in before the update that clearly illustrate this difference. I don't understand how this is possible without a bug or calculation change.

Has anyone run into this problem and found a solution?

    Hello

    The following steps may help:

    • Estimates of active calories depends, in part, your personal information. To verify that this is correct - and update over time:
      • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: My Watch tab > health > edit - tap and adjust the settings, then press on in fact.

    Hello

I had my Apple Watch a little over a week now and everything seems fine work for the first few days, but then all of a sudden my calories/move objective seems to stop working! I've restarted and re calibrated but still has always had the same problem.

    any ideas?

    Hi Stephanie

    Try the following steps:

    • On your iPhone in the app shows, go to: Watch My > General > detection of wrist - make sure it's open.
    • If the access code is enabled, make sure that you unlock your watch after placing it on your wrist.
    • Move the estimates depend in part on your personal information. To verify that this is correct - and update over time:
      • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: My Watch (tab) > health > edit - tap and adjust the settings, then press on in fact.
  • Total number of calories burned per day?

(Or may) the Apple Watch record total calories burned per day, including not only periods of activity but calories approximately during rest periods? Or is it just them count during training? I am currently using my Apple Watch with a heart rate sensor Polar Bluetooth H7 and would get an estimated number of total calories burned each day compared to my food intake. Y at - it another app, I would need? If so, what would be the most simple for this specific purpose?

    Don't count during training.

"and I would get an estimated number of total calories burned each day compared to my food intake."

No Apple Watch app that can do it.

  • How the other drive app option to calculate calories? I did 45 minutes yoga with him and he showed the 260 callus which is high of 45 mins of yoga session.

How the other drive app option to calculate calories? I did 45 minutes yoga with him and he showed the 260 callus which is high of 45 mins of yoga session.

    ISuspect that is not correct.

    Hello

Saving workouts through the app to drive using others as the type of activity, active calories are estimated at a rate equivalent to a brisk walk or based on the data recorded by the heart rate sensor, according to what is higher.

The following steps can help to improve the accuracy of the estimates made by your watch:

    • Estimates for calories and other results depend, in part, your personal information. To verify that it is accurate:
      • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: My Watch (tab) > health > Edit (top-right).
    • While training, to optimize the performance of the heart rate sensor (data from which is used when estimating calories), make sure you wear your watch fits on top of your wrist. Apple suggests that consider you the clamping Strip before starting a workout and it loosen again thereafter.
      • Note that the heart rate sensor is likely to give better results for the workouts that involve rhythmic (such as running) rather than the irregular movements.
    • Calibrate your watch can improve the accuracy of various estimates related to the activity, including estimates of calorie. To calibrate your watch, follow the instructions in the link below support article. You can reset your calibration data and start the process:
      • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: Watch My > privacy > Motion & Fitness > tap reset Calibration data.

    • Open the application of activity on your watch:
      • Tap on the complication of business cycles.
      • Or go the home screen (via a simple press on the digital Crown) and tap the app of the activity (coloured rings).
    • Of any where in the application of the activity, firmly press the screen > type on goal to move the change > choose a new goal by adjusting the target it.

Every Monday, Apple Watch provides a weekly summary of your achievements in moving. Basically, this may include a change suggested in your objective of moving. • I teach a cardio dance class on the inside and I can't give them a many exact calories when class ends.  The only choice is on the Apple Watch is the 'other' and I know that the class Burns 600 calories in an hour, but my watch shows only 250-350 burned.

I use my Apple Watch throughout the day and when I teach a cardio dance class, the number of calories is MUCH lower than other materials.  Why is the Watch not count my calories accurately?  The ladies like to know the calories to burn when the class is over and I can't give them using my Apple Watch.  Others in this class that wear the watch tells you how many is not too accurate.  We burn usually about 600 + calories and I'll be happy if my registers 350.  What could be wrong? Thank you!

    Hello

Do not forget that Apple Watch uses Active calories (those who are burned by orders or travel) as the main measure for the app to training and activity app.

Many other applications of fitness / devices report total calories, which consists of active calories + calories at rest (that your body is still burning even when you're not active).
