Can I install 4 GB of RAM in a Satellite A200-1VP?

Bought a 1VP A200 a few weeks ago and I think you, she might benefit from a bit more RAM. I am aware that under vista 32 bit I Wona? t have access to all 4 GB, but all I could win would be a bonus (3.5 GB?) 4 GB can be installed in my notebook with no problems?

And just out of curiosity is the scalable processor? Highly doubt id end up doing but would be nice to know?

I hope someone can help

Thank you

Kharm

Hello

You can install 4 GB on this machine, it can recognize only about 3.5 GB due to system resource requirements.

There are 2 x 2 GB 667 MHZ SODIMM

How to install raid/scsi drivers and get rid of Vista for good?

    You will need

    -1 USB external floppy drive
    -2 diskettes
-1 set of drivers for the hard disk on the computer
-a legal copy of windows xp pro

WHAT TO DO WITH THE DISKS.

COPY THE DRIVERS DON'T CUT AND PASTE

-get DISC 1 and place the required disk drivers, they did not all folders
-get DISC 2 and make a folder called $OEM$ and in that folder make another called TEXTMODE then in this folder insert the drivers you have in disc 1

Installation of the drivers and windows xp pro
-When windows asks you press F6 to install the raid drivers press F6
    - then enter the floppy drive DISK1
-When it prompts you to press "s" to install the raid and storage controllers...
-Press "s" again and press enter on the same raid driver, you just tell windows to use
-windows will then say that he already has drivers for the raid controller
-Press the button appropriate to tell windows you want it to use own disks instead of windows drivers
-After loading drivers remove the disk
-Wait for windows to ask you once again the drivers then insert DISC 2
    - and finally, windows install vista WENT you need drivers for any hardware of your computer system, but they should be easy to get from the manufacturers website

I used this method and it worked with a Toshiba laptop satellite a200 1yo with no problems

  • Can I install 4 GB of RAM in my Satellite A100-033?

I have a Satellite A100-033 (PSAANE-03J02GEN). The manual says that it will support only 2 GB of RAM. Does anyone know if it will support actually 4GB? I installed 2 x 1 GB instead of the supplied 2x512MB and am trying to install 2 x 1 GB? It will work, or is there a restriction in the motherboard or BIOS which means that most RAM is recognized? Can anyone help?

    Hello

If the manual says you can improve it only 2 GB of RAM, you can then use only 2 x 1 GB modules.
But if you insert 2 x 2 GB RAM modules then either your laptop does not start or it might start but all of the 4 GB would not be recognized.

Generally, there are Windows 32 bit OS (no matter if it s Vista or XP) would use and recognize only same 3.2 GB 4 GB RAM max would be inserted.

    And of course, there are a lot of restrictions on the RAM;
If the chipset and BIOS does not allow 4 GB of RAM, so you wouldn't be able to use it.

  • I have a faulty ram (top) slot for a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro 13 "i5.  Can I install a 8 GB Ram in the slot below or is maximally 4 GB?

I have a faulty ram (top) slot for a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro 13 "i5.  Can I install a 8 GB Ram in the slot below or is maximally 4 GB?

This was after the 3 beep error and I couldn't restart the Mac with one of the 2 GB of Ram into the lower slot.

Is there a way to test if the top housing is faulty or just dirty?

    Thank you

Yes, the MBP will work with a single module of RAM installed, but there will be a slight performance decrease.  A MBP 2012 will accept a module of 8 GB RAM.

Is there a way to test if the top housing is faulty or just dirty?

Install each RAM module individually in each slot, leaving the other empty.  If the two RAM modules work in a slot and not the other, the slot is faulty.  Sometimes the adjustment screw can resuscitate the slot.  If this is not the case, make an appointment at an Apple store for a FREE evaluation.

    Ciao.

  • Can I install 20 GB of Ram on my iMac 27 inch 2011

I just upgraded my iMac 27 inch 2011 from 4 GB to 16 GB model. I installed two chips of 8GB. I can also install the 2 other 2 GB chips? Or is - better than for a total of 16 GB to 32 GB on this machine. Apple staff told me that it is not good to use too much Ram on my iMac, because it would be somehow the cause of the problems on the system.

I am running OS X El Capitan.

    Thanks for your help.

16 GB max is all that 2011 will focus on the iMac. It has 4 total slots but put the RAM in the empty slots will not do anything.

  • Can not install device driver USB IRDA Kingsun on Satellite A100 with Vista OS

I have a USB IRDA Kingsun device that worked well on a desktop with XP but my Satellite A100 with Vista defies installing the drivers that came on a CD with the IRDA.

How can I install or does anyone know one that works with Vista?

    Hello

If you are not able to install the 3rd party device IRDA driver on Vista, it seems that the disc is not compatible and don t support Vista.
Seems you have to contact the manufacture of the IRDA device and ask the compatible reader

But maybe that you're unlucky and the Vista driver does not exist?  :|

  • Question about upgrading Ram on a Satellite A200

    Hi friends,

I have a Satellite A200-13O with 120 GB HDD, 1.8 GHz Intel Centrino Duo, 1 GB of ram, but there 2 512 chips installed.

If I upgrad 2 1 GB ram is it possible to improve performance...?

and what happens if I switch to 2 GB dual channel...?

    It has Windows Vista Ultimate...!

    Thank you
    Nagal

Do you mean that you would use a single module of ram of 1 GB?

Well, you would still have 1 GB of RAM, but the dual channel cannot be used due to lack of second module.
So, if you can, try to use exactly the same 2 modules for best performance of the memory.

The laptop supports two memory locations so you can't do anything wrong insert 2 modules in slots 2 to run dual channel modules

    Welcome them

  • Upgrading RAM in the Satellite A200-1WR

    Hello!

    My laptop is a Satellite A200-1WR, code PSAE3E-05J01CCE, including 2.048 (1,024 + 1,024) MB RAM memory.
I wonder if it is possible to upgrade to 4 GB memory
In the specifications, it is said that the maximum expansion is 2 GB.

However, I don't know if 2 GB is the maximum expansion for each slot, it is possible to have two modules of 2 GB each, or the motherboard was held 2 GB total.

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, this model of laptop can handle with 2 GB of RAM only.
Sorry, but move to 4 GB is not possible.

On this forum, you can find so many comments about it. All you need to do is check the Satellite section or use the search option.

A very interesting thread on this, you can find here.

  • Can a second hard drive be added to a Satellite A200-298

    Hello
I have a Satellite A200-298 which came with a hard drive of 200 GB, I wondered if it was possible for a second hard drive more to be added to help with Itunes that is storage of files and movies.

    Hi mate,

Unfortunately, there may be a second HDD to be added because if your machine has only one disc and then the other drive hard bay would not have an installed hard drive connector.

I would buy an external hard drive and store my stuff there I was you...

  • Problem of RAM 667 on Satellite A200 - 14 d

    Hello
    Sorry for my English.

I have a laptop Satellite A200 - 14 d and I have 2 x 1 GB ram 667 MHz SAMSUNG. I have the processor T2350 on FSB 533 MHz. I have test my laptop by CPU - Z soft and this sweet show that my RAM operates on 266 MHz but not of 333 MHz, as says the producer.

I have another non-Toshiba laptop with 2 GB ram and processor T2250 on FSB 533 MHZ and in this laptop ram works with 333 MHz speed.

    WHY? Help me please!

    Hey Buddy

Don t worry. It's all right.
The laptop was equipped 667 Mhz modules, but the FSB supports 533 Mhz max. That's why the modules run max with the speed of 533 Mhz (dual channel). Your free tool (CPU - Z), single speed simply and don t report of the speed of dual channel (533 Mhz)

    > I have an another non-Toshiba laptop with 2 GB ram and processor T2250 on FSB 533 MHZ and in this portable ram works with 333 MHz speed.
That s is impossible. Is the value of your FSB was not recognized correctly and it s 667 Mhz FSB or tool provides a bad details on the speed of the RAM.

  • RAM upgrade and Satellite A200 - 19K graphic card memory:

    Hi all

The Satellite A200 - 19K came with 1024 MB memory system. It's only 2 cards of memory of 512 MB or just 1 memory card 1024Mo in the system of the laptop? I would like to add another a 1024 MB of RAM, is that the slot more be available?

The second question is on the graphics card from NVIDIA. The product specification mentions the graphics adapter as below...

    Manufacturer: NVIDIAî
type: NVIDIAî Geforcea? ¢ GB 7300 supporting Turbocachea? ¢ technology
memory: 64 MB dedicated VRAM (up to 335 MB of total available graphics memory using Turbocachea? ¢ technology with 2 GB of system memory)
memory type: DDR video RAM (resp. video RAM DDR and DDR system memory combined)
connected bus: PCI Express 16 x

My question is, after upgrade from 1024 MB to 2048 MB system memory, is that the card NVIDIA GeForce will be automatic upgrade from 64 MB to 256 MB for graphics memory?

    TAHNKS A LOT!

    Hello
    >, It's only 2 cards of memory of 512 MB or just 1 memory card 1024Mo in the system of the laptop
I think that the laptop came with a module of memory 1 GB and the second Bank should be free.

Now something about the graphics card.
Well, the graphics card GeForce Go 7300 supports own graphics memory 256 MB (no shared memory!)
But it also allows a dedicated memory.
This amount of memory is variable and depends on the available main memory.

I think that everything runs automatically and you will not need to change the settings to assign this memory dedicated after main memory upgrade

  • How to install the second hard drive in the Satellite A200-1 of body weight?

I see my new Satellite A200-1 of body weight has two hard drive bays, the research in the second span, I don't see how a second drive can be mounted as the plug into the Jack seems to be missing.

What parts do I have to mount to place a second drive that they are held in stock by out of the local computer and are quite cheap, can someone advise me on part numbers etc of the bits I need.
    Thank you
    Steve

    Hello

I know that this empty place for second HARD drive is a bit confusing, but the same situation is with my A200-1CR. The fact is that some A200 models come with 2 hard drives and laptop case design this place must be prepared for this second HDD.

But this does not mean that each A200 can be improved for the second HARD drive.

  • You can install DDR3 1066 mhz Ram in the Satellite C660-116

You can install RAM DDR3 1066 mhz in this laptop?

    (C660-116)
1 GB of Ram DDR3 at 800 mhz
at 800 mhz front side bus

    Post edited by: jim155

You can, but it will not help you because the FSB is clocked at 800 Mhz and 1066 Mhz how fast would be clocked at 800 Mhz.

For example; you ve got a Ferrari but can't drive at full speed due to the alley. So why buy a Ferrari if you cannot drive faster ;)
