Hello

This Board 501266-001 is listed as compatible only for CQ 60 models:

UMA, GL40 System Board (for Presario CQ60 computer models only; includes top
modem and replacement of thermal equipment) 501266-001

However, the Board 494282-001 is listed in two manuals for CQ 50 and also computers CQ 60 laptop. I think it could work, but take a look at the service guide for the CQ 50 laptop yourself:

http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01572022.PDF

I mean that you can certainly use the 494282-001 laptop Compaq 50 Council. I think that 501266-001 card has no HDMI port and a (Digital media slot?) card reader.

According to my notes, 63y1545 is a T510 Board with integrated graphics (Intel). The other 2 boards are W510 boards. They are all the same size and shape, but W510 boards have 4 memory slots and use a different cooling fan. The W510 is a nice machine and worth it if you can get a good price on a Board and fan of fixing. • can I replace a motherboard very damaged with windows vista bussines?

I have a PC with a broken MB, I need to replace it, but how to make the change with the windows vista bussines?

    Hello

    1. you have the disc to reinstall Vista with the product key with you?

If you have the disk, you can get the other motherboard and re install the operating system and activate using the product key.

You can choose a custom Setup during the installation of the operating system. In a custom installation, you will lose all the programs installed. Make sure that you format the drive during installation. Once installation is complete, you will find the data in the Windows.old folder.

Important: You may lose data while performing a custom installation, it is advisable that you make a backup of your hard drive.

  • Motherboard has failed on the computer running Windows XP Professional. Can I replace the motherboard and re - install Windows with my product key?

My computer was assembled by myself has worked for many years, the operating system is win xp pro OEM.  The motherboard has failed and I'm replacing it with a newer version, that is no longer available. I can re - install win xp pro using any win xp pro not oem and using original key to activate? I understand the oem rules as it relates to a registered oem (Dell, Acer, etc) but my oem copy was bought at retail and as far as I know is not related to a named oem. In fact, I'd say I'm oem as I made the original equipment.

There is disagreement on that. I've seen people claim that if you change the motherboard, you essentially create a new PC (which would mean you would need another license as an OEM license can be used on a PC and never transferred to another).

And then there are people who say that it is the OEM who decides what constitutes a new PC. I tend to support this point of view, personally. But there is disagreement.
BTW, if you bought the OEM CD has no impact on the license.
After installation, you may need the Microsoft phone to activate (in other words, if the activation over the Internet does not work).

My suggestion: buy a new machine because add them, cost more than buying a new machine itself and the result of may will not be big, UNLESS you are having another machine and use this machine for experimentation.

    Kind regards.

No, if your plan is to use the license with that your PC has been delivered.

It is not legal to do this. You will need to buy another operating system under license for your new motherboard, or use an operating system open source...

My computer is a HP 5188-6734 motherboard and I can't find this one exactly, but I found a HP 5188-5588 one on e - bay for about $70, which seems to be and seems that I can tell, exactly like what I have.  Can I replace the one I have with this one without any problems?

    Looking for help.

You are this posting in the wrong forum, this is a forum of the laptop and is a desktop system.

Yes, you can get a video card, install and use it.  However, you sure is that the video works is not, or is it possible that the video didn't come out because you have a larger problem as the system's not initialization and display at all, because of a sort of failure such as food or the card mother?

If you have a spare PSU, you can try exchanging it instead of the original.  If you have a spare video card, even a few old (especially some former) PCI worthless, that you can install to see if you get any screen output.  Note that you need to maybe use the CMOS clear jumper or remove the battery for 10 minutes, while the power supply is disconnected after adding a video card, or by deleting and trying to use the video again.

I don't know if the specifications of the two Councils are quite similar, you should look at the datasheet for your system and compare that against what ebay sellers asking them is capable of.   Generally if you have a processor socket 775 lines they list and your using the same chipset, you should be able to simply plug in the parts and windows must be able to start pretty far to plug-and-play all the minor differences.  This is the situation in which I expected, you can buy the replacement cards model you mentioned and it works perfectly except possibly having to install a driver or two, but I can't be sure without detailed specifications.  They are very close to the info, I have found, might even be just a 2nd revision of the same Council of PCChips where everything what they changed was a clock IC generator or something similar that would not do your use in any way, except that to be sure, you have the good bios when looking on the HP site for the models with this Council in there instead of the bios for your system model #. If they take even a different bios which they cannot.

    Thank you.

I put t know if it s possible because I m not a technician for laptop.
Normally, you should only replace the motherboard with the same.

I put t know if it works. Contact a local ASP and ask for a technician. They know where the other is, and if it would work.

  • dead motherboard p6130y. can I replace with same MB

computer does not start. Nothing after plugging. It seems that several suspects caps (bujlging). PS and good.

Coulld suffered an electric shock (lightning). Found replacement bd on e - bay, the same specifications as this one. Pegatron m2n78 - la

If you do not reserve for purchase on EBay, it's what I would do.  Just make sure that you get the same version of the m2n78 - la as you have.  There are several iterations that are similar and all carry the designation "m2n78 - la".  One specific is listed as M2N78-(purple)

    There are

    (1) M2N78-(purple)

    (2) M2N78-(VIOLET6-GL8E)

    (3) M2N78-(Violet-GL8E)

In addition to inspections, it perhaps #1 and #3 are the same.  If you can get the current motherboard label numbers, which would help in the search.

Assuming that you are skilled enough to transfer the material from the old to the new, you should be good to go.  Don't forget to clean the CPU and the heatsink and applied new thermal paste on same, before feeding the reconstructed platform.

  • How can I fix Windows XP OEM after replacing my motherboard computers?

Replaced mother on board, how can I do a repair (the Win XP OEM retail box) of Win XP installation?

original title: how to install Win xp oem retail repair?

You can try to boot from the installation CD and select the repair option.  License of the OEM version is however considered as not valid once you replace the motherboard, unless it is the same brand and model as the original, then I wish you good luck!

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • If I replace my motherboard I have to buy Windows again or if I can use the same key?

    A motherboard / licensed

The motherboard in my computer is dead (well not exactly, the USB ports short anything plugged). I RAM would be the Council because it is still under warranty, but the manufacturer says that the problems are not covered by the warranty. I'm in a situation where I need to replace my motherboard. I also found that my motherboard is no longer manufactured. I'll be able to buy a new motherboard and reinstall Windows? I was told that since a computer cannot exist without a motherboard I'll have to buy another copy of Windows: new motherboard = new computer = new copy of Windows. But I was also told that if I have a retail copy, what I do, and not an OEM, I was able to reinstall my copy if I replace my motherboard. How true this is?

    All this is true!

If you have a retail version, you can change the card mother as many times as you like as long as your license is used only on any given computer one at a time.

After the fifth installation of your license, phone activation may be required.

Only OEM versions are related to the first motherboard forever, unless the manufacturer can sell you a model which replaced the abandoned.

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

  • HP Pavilion e049wm 17: 17-e049wm (HP pavilion 17) can I replace the audio jack on the motherboard?

    Hello

Nearly two years ago, I bought the laptop and the audio jack stopped working. I opened the laptop and saw that indeed broken taking!

I wonder where I can get a new, so maybe I can solder on the motherboard?

There is no place to buy this decision in a separate part. The only possibility is to find a motherboard nonworking parts on ebay and to transplant the good audio jack on your motherboard, and I don't want to minimize welding skills that will. You'd be very likely to damage the motherboard still more. Your best bet now if you want to use the laptop with a gaming headset is to get a cheap usb sound card and plug it in when you want to listen in private. I guess that the speakers of the laptop still work OK?

    Like this:

    http://www.Amazon.com/virtual-5-1-surround-external-sound-card/DP/B000N35A0Y/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&QID=1457963711&SR=8-5&keywords=USB+sound+card

You could buy half a dozen of them, then you might lose a bit and still be OK.
