Can I restore iOS iOS 10 7 backup?

I'm updating the phone to my mother from iOS7 to iOS10.  During the update, I got and error and the phone only displays the message "Connect to iTunes".  When I connect to iTunes it tells me that the device must be updated or restored.  The update always fails.  If I do the restoration, and he is restored to iOS 10 I will be able to restore the backup iOS7 on the device?

Yes, you can restore older backups to the latest version. Note that for iOS 10, you need iTunes 12.5.1 or later version. And the version of iTunes requires Windows 7 or later, or Mac OS 10.8.5 or later.

  • I can't restore my iphone

I have a backup on my computer and I bought a new iPhone, when I want to restore the backup via iTunes tells me the following message

iTunes can't restore 6s iPhone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone, which is being restored.

If the backup is corrupt in effect, there is little you can do. One thing to try is to set up the new phone with the latest version of the iOS first, then try to restore the back upward.

  • Restore iPhone iPhone 4S problem backup old 4 running iOS 7.1.2

    Hello

my iPhone 4S recently fell down because of water damage. I was not able to revive. However, luckily I have a very recent backup performed by iTunes. I'm temporarily using an old iPhone 4 for a few weeks now, until I have buy a new phone. I want to restore the backup I made of my iPhone 4s to this old iPhone 4 so I can access my contacts/calendar/photos - as much as the next phone I buy would not be an iPhone. However, when I tried to restore the backup of my 4s to 4 he gave the following error message:

Cannot restore the backup to this iPhone because the software on the iPhone is too old. To restore this iPhone of this backup, you must first set up as new iPhone and restore the software to the latest version.

However, the iPhone 4 is running iOS 7.1.2 and what I can find online, it is not possible to upgrade to iOS 8.

Any suggestions on what I can do to restore my settings for that old iPhone 4? Or how else access my backup content without having to buy a new iPhone?

    Much appreciated!

    Elise

You cannot restore a backup from a device running a newer version of the iOS to a running a lower version. It is not possible to update the iPhone 4 past 7.1.2. The only way to access the backup is restore on another iOS device.

That said, there are a few 3rd party utilities out there that claim to be able to extract data from a backup that iTunes isn't encrypted. I can't speak to the effectiveness of these.

Your contacts and calendar should have been synchronized to a Cloud Computing service. They should still be there.

  • iOS 9.3 backup and restore to iOS 9.2.1 device

    Hello

I have an iPhone 4S and on Monday, March 21, I have updated my phone to iOS since iOS 9.2.1 9.3 and everything works fine. Wednesday, I acquired a device slightly better, the iPhone 5, but he was running iOS 9.2. I've updated the iPhone 5 in the latest iOS, but it only allowed me to upgrade to iOS 9.2.1 so now when I try to upgrade my iPhone 4s to the 5, that it will not allow me. I did a full backup of the iPhone 4S (iOS 9.3) to iTunes on my computer and when I tried to restore my iPhone data 5 (running iOS 9.2.1 only) it tells me that I can not restore the data on an older device. What can I do to be able to fully back up and restore the device on the new phone, including all photos and text messages?

    Thank you.

You will have to wait until iOS 9.3 is reissued and then update your iPhone 5. Apple has removed the update iOS 9.3 for some older devices because of activation problems. It must be re-edited in the coming days.

  • Just updated to ios 9 and my ipod touch is stuck at 'update of the iCloud parameters.  I can not restore from iTunes as I have to disable 'find my iPod toch' and cannot do the iPod is blocked with the message to update.  Will not work force a stop down.

Just updated to ios 9.2 (from 8 something) and my ipod touch is stuck at 'update of the iCloud parameters.  I can not restore from iTunes because I have to disable "Find my iPod touch" first of all, and I can't do as the iPod is blocked with the message to update.  Forcing a stop down does not work that for some reason, I am unable to turn off my iPod touch manually.  I tried to turn off my wifi to see if that stops the iPod touch, but he always keeps on the message to iCloud.  Do I just wait until the battery sinks so that it forces a reboot?

Place your iOS device into Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    Hello paulfrompalm harbor,.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It is my understanding that you were unable to restore from your backup to iTunes after the update to iOS 10. Backups to store some more valuable information in your iPhone. I know how it is important to revisit this content. I'm happy to help you.

Please, try the following steps and test the issue after each step.

    1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.
    2. Connect your device to your computer with a cable USB, then Select your device in iTunes. If your device does not appear in iTunes, you must correct this problem until you can continue. Or, if you have forgotten your password or your device is off, know what to do.
    3. Turn off your computer and your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Then turn on again them.
    4. If you use a Mac, skip this step. If you use a Windows PC and iTunes will not respond or never ends your backup, you may need to to update, edit, disable or uninstall your security software.

If your iTunes backup could not be completed or you cannot restore from a backup

If you continue to experience problems, follow the remaining steps in the link above.

  • IPhone cannot be restored (IOS 10 update)

I downloaded the update of 10 new IOS on my Iphone 6s. Now, there is an Itunes logo on my screen. I have already connected my phone with Itunes but I can't restore...

    Help, please

Like many other capfreak, your device is in recovery mode.

You do backup your device before upgrading?

If so, you can restore the device by plugging it into a PC / Mac and installing the previous iOS version you had before (possibly 9.3.5 If you yourself have updated iOS).

  • Battery drains faster than normal after restoring iOS on iPhone 9.2 6 Plus.

Hello everyone. Yesterday, I restored my iPhone with iOS 9.2 6 Plus using the latest version of iTunes. In every 1 minutes 4.7% of battery drains while watching a video offline.

I have reset all settings, updated all my apps from the App Store and the battery drains fast continues. Can anyone fix or wait for the next update?

    Backup of your device

Factory restore, set up as NEW.  Registration to iCloud will get your contacts, calendars, reminders and notes (other services, such as Gmail, Outlook, yahoo would be probably similar).

Is there something in the system restore which is to drain your battery.

Restore the minimum of your applications and test.  If all else fails, you can always restore back to the top again.

There is no record to hide, they will still be on your home screen.

You can back up apps into folders, simply pressing app until it wiggles and then move it with another application and a folder will be created.

  • How can I restore mac Time machine backup to most recent?

So, I recently met several problems with my old mac. He started acting upward with the blinking folder and question mark more often. So I did multiple time machine backups and have since then tried to reinstall the OS and many other options, but it looks like my mac middle of 2007 has had its day. So I bought a new mac and tried to restore the back upward on the external hard drive. I get the message that his back is an older version and it cannot be restored and I should use from the other mac migration assistant.

So the question is: If the first mac is burned and I can not restore settings etc of the time external hard disk machine, how to restore the whole upward? Can I transfer files only?

    Very much appreciated.

    g

    Hi Sir,

You cannot restore data in time machine just like that. You use the data transfer assistant to recover your old records to your new Mac.

The data that you used time machine made to your old mac are not available to your new mac. There is limitation of the system.

    Hope this could help you.
