  My Macbook Pro has been sluggish, so I moved 5000 photos to a USB enabled immediately. I needed to photograph then inserted the USB, but even if I just looked at them via preview, 5000 images imported automatic again in the library & now I'm back for sluggish Mac. Why this happens, I can cancel it without spending many hours it took to wean their in the first plac, what prefs I need to change to avoid a recurrence. Is there a recommended book or a site I can access to improve my habits of production, etc.!   iPhoto is not an automatic import facility. The only way these images got bak in the library is if you have imported the, I'm afraid.

  First question-

  Check in your LR preferences - general tab > Import Options > "see the import dialog when a memory card is detected."

  If it is checked, then its possible that any device plugged in USB will start LR. Remove the control to try first.

  I'm not qualified to comment on the CPU usage.

  I have set bridge to export files to cache files when it is possible and it is quite useful to find most of the time. It's a bit of a pain but when I review my dropbox folders.

  You can't selectively exclude one or even several files.  It's all or nothing.

  If you add your Dropbox to your bridge Favorites, it will be no different than any other folder navigation in Bridge.

• Can we do import with the watermark?

  Currently, I import, decide on the watermark, select all and export all with watermark, then import this folder with all the watermarks and a web gallery.

  The drop-down list next to Watermarking allows you to choose which watermark and modify or create new watermarks.

  I don't yet see watermark on images in the web gallery.

  You won't see the watermark until you upload the Gallery to your web site.

  This is a JSON backup and must be restored.

  • Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore > choose file

  Note that restoring a JSON backup will replace all your existing bookmarks (you receive a warning about it).
  
  If you already have the bookmarks that you want to keep then export them to a HTML file before you restore the backup JSON.
  
  You can import this HTML file after restoring the JSON backup to get your bookmarks current return (you need to remove duplicates).
  
  You cannot import a JSON backup to add bookmarks (merge).

  Or a specific folder or "All photographs", use the filter bar to view all the photos with the red flag (do you mean red color label?). Select all (Ctrl-A). Then, assign any label or any other label color, your choice, for all those pictures.

• Auto import does not

  I am a new user of Lightroom 6.2.1.  I really liked the idea of auto import and it stressed in my folder where My Eye - Fi card adds pictures from my camera when I'm within wi - fi range.  T unfortunately Idon't ever work.  I tried to create a new folder and placing the two to watch/copy of my card.  Photos are still not import.  Can anyone give advice?  Thank you!

  I have a new Canon 7 d Mark II, which is not supporated by Lr5 Tethered Shooting for now. Studying, I found a feature I wasn't aware, Auto Import. I have instructions on how to put in place where I that would use the EOS utility to capture and save a picture in a folder and if properly Lr Auto import would then import the image in Lr. sounds good, but turn on Auto import in the menu file is gray, everything that can be clicked auto import settings. If I click that, when the option screen opens at the top there is a checkbox to activate the automatic import who is also grayed out.

  Kenn, you must initialize the parameters in the parameters dialog box. This indicates LR where to find images and how to import them. Once you fill in the parameters, the 'Enable' option will be active and you can select.

  You can delete temporary Internet files from your computer by using the disk Cleanup utility.

  You can also try to delete the files in this folder and check if you have any questions. If it's a system file it would not allows you to delete the file.
