Cannot access files

Hello

I recently downloaded After Effects and I watched the tutorials on how to use the application. I found the tutorial that includes the addition of a UFO in a shot. I downloaded the files practice the link beside the video and thought that everything would be fine. However, when I go in After Effects and try to import it in, the file does not appear anywhere. So I downloaded creative cloud and this time the folder "Active UFO" appeared, but empty. I really want to finish the basics of learning program, so if someone could help me and tell me why the files do not appear, would be great. Thank you!

-Andrew

There was a user to ask questions about this tutorial today so I actually downloaded files.

in this page:How to add video special effects | Tutorials Adobe after effects CC

had this window

clicked on it and got it and clicked on download (almost there! Brace yourself!)

has obtained a 100 MB ZIP file. Extract it and got and here are the content

It works very well. Now you try!

As you can guess, this is a permissions problem.  Here, it makes a difference if you have XP Home or Pro you have to safe boot mode to change permissions in the House.

My crystal ball says that your external drive is formatted with the NTFS file system.  When you connected to Windows 7 (or any other computer besides), the files have been added that this user permissions apparently understood that only Win 7 has access to.  There are several ways to handle this...

Is to save on all your files and reformat the external hard drive with a FAT32 file system and then support files.  You will have no problems of permissions with FAT32, but you can't have any higher than 4 GB single file either.

Another way is as an administrator, to 'Ownership' of all the files on the disk
"How appropriate a file or a folder in Windows XP"
but this could get old if the drive moves back.

Yet another approach is to give "Everyone" full access to everything on the drive.  This may or may not protect against new folders or files added, but may be worth a try:
As a user administrator, open a command window:
    Start-> Run-> "cmd".
    Then, enter the command:
    CACLS E:\/t/e/c/g everyone: F
(where I am assuming that your external drive is mounted as "E:" - change of real player)

I hope that something more top is useful...

There is some malware that causes this problem. We will, first of all make sure that your computer is not infected. Download, install, update and perform a full scan with Malwarebytes. View results, then we will know which path from there.

  • Cannot access files recovery

I had to do a recovery my PC system and before, then used the program of recovery to automatic backup on my external HARD drive.

I have since then found my backup there and it extracted in a "System recovery files" folder on my pc. But it won't let me access it, so I can't copy their back or open up.

Whenever I try to open the file it says I do not have the necessary permissions to access the folder and directs me to the folder security options. Even if I am logged in as an administrator, I can't give all the permissions to view or edit the file.

If it's supposed to happen? How to access my files?
