  • Satellite L30-113 - cannot burn CDs or DVDs

I have a Satellite L30-113. Recently my driver failed for my dvd player, until I was able to install a few things and burn CDs and DVDs. Now, I can't record CDs or DVDs.

Nero and CDBurnerXP for CD/DVD ROM say 'cannot continue burning process as you did not choose the device for recording. CD/DVD ROM propities shows that it does not support recording CDs and DVDs.

I uninstalled the driver and restarted my computer and it reinstalled the same as that which does not once again. I am a driver update search and xp tells me that the driver is up-to-date. I checked the Toshiba updates with none of these updates for CD/DVD ROM.
I have no idea on how to fix this unit "corrupted".

    Hi mate,

I had a similar problem on my Toshiba laptop. So here, I searched a little bin forum and I founded to delete upper and lower filters in the registry. I followed the instructions in this Microsoft article:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060

After that, I again was able to burn DVDs.

In addition, updated driver from CD/DVD isn't necessary because this driver is part of the operating system.

  • Can't burn CDs with Windows Media Player

    Hello

I have problems with CD burning on my computer satellite phone. Had the laptop for a few months and have had no problems. However only found an extra software with the DVD drivers CD so downloaded it - big mistake!

I had to restore in settings a few weeks that I could not delete the programs. That s all is well now, but since I was unable to burn CDs in Windows Media Player. I click on "burn" and nothing happens, and the right side says CD has nothing on the subject (it s a blank CD).
All tried and checked my settings, etc, can't think of what it could be.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would be grateful for any help.
    Thank you

    Hello

I guess that's because other applications have disabled the function of registration of Windows operating system.
Go into the my computer and right click on the CD/DVD drive. Here, please select the properties.
Click the recording tab and enable the option enable the writing of CD on this drive

Well, either it's a question madia or CD/DVD drive problem.
Check another CD and DVD from different manufacturers.
If the same thing happens to what different types of media, then it s a STRANGE HW issue.

  • Cannot burn CDs or watch DVDs

Am not able to burn CDs. The media player to rip music, but am not able to burn CDs.  Also unable to watch DVDs

    Hello rcaddy40,

    1. don't you make changes to the computer before it stopped working?

    2. don't you get an error when you try to play DVDs on your computer?

I suggest that you run by following the below Fix - it. This will automatically diagnose and repair problems with your CD or DVD drive when trying to read or burn media:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/cd_dvd_drive_problems

If this does not work, I suggest that you follow the steps in the link below:

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Problem: Burning CDs with Windows Media Player

I'm having a problem with burning to a blank CD using Windows Media Player.  The songs that won't burn have a red "X" next to them and details of the mistake of saying "this file cannot be burned to a CD, because it is not on your computer."  I looked at the location of the file, and it is located on a web address.  I would really appreciate any advice you have to offer on how to solve this problem.  Thank you.

The files must be downloaded to your hard drive.  Windows Media Player cannot burn files on the internet.  Are these songs to a music streaming service?  If so, they must be purchased before burning.

  • cannot burn CD with WinXP-host VMware_Player_3.0 CentOS5-comments

I gave up trying this with VMWP 2.5 and have moved to VMWP 3.0, even if my VM is provided for 2.5. I still cannot burn to a CD. I can connect to my D: or E: drives under the guest OS, which each is a burner that works well in native WinXP, but when I write that I have only the choice of an image, not the physical drive.

I can not also create two CD players. When I add a disk in the VM:settings? Hardware tab it seems OK, but I get a drive will appear in the display of the computer.

    Help, please.

    jefferiksen wrote:

I guess blocking the CentOS machine and restart effect was to run the processes you mentioned in a previous reply (haldaemon?)

The Virtual Machine must always be stopped, not suspended, and preferably the product VMware closed when the changes to the Virtual Machine Configuration file and it is enough to say just have the .vmx file I provided you and swapped out while the Virtual Machine has been stopped, not suspended, while the problem would have been solved then!  BTW in the circumstances, only suspend you the Virtual Machine, then to stop/restart the kudzu and or haldaemon would no nothing because the Virtual Machine is still working with a copy cached the original .vmx file unmodified one and ultimately all this turns out be a mistake of the end-user!

As far as I know Toshiba recommends to use the CD manufacturers listed in the user manual

Burn a CD or DVD in Windows Media Center

You can burn different types of CDs and DVDs in Windows Media Center. This allows you to decide what type of DVD or CD you want to create, based on the way and you want to use to read the content after it is burned to a disc.

And read the links there, too.

    See you soon.

  • Cannot burn CDs on Satellite Pro L10

I have a Satellite Pro L10 and impossible to copy data files to DVD/CD player. I go through the process by using the Editorial Assistant and it appears to download the files, but finishes with a screen that says "cannot complete the CD Writing Wizard" and ejects the CD. The CD is empty, but the displayed size went from 720 mB to 647 mB of free space and total size.

This was not always the case, because it worked when I first got the L10. The L10 has Windows XP

    Any ideas please?

    Hello

Are you trying to burn the files using clean combustion of Windows?

Hmmm I put t like this feature of Microsoft. I use a 3rd party software to burn data and files on CD or DVD.
    It s Nero burning ROM.
This tool is really nice and I have not noticed problems using this software.
You should also test this tool and I'm sure that you will be very satisfied.

    But back to the error message that appeared during the burning process;
    After a lengthy investigation on Microsoft pages, I found very useful knowledge base article Microsoft and information;
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/324129

The error messageError: cannot complete the wizard of CD writing ofmay occur if the IMAPI CD Burner service is shut down. To resolve this problem, make sure that the service is running and that it has not been arrested. By default, the service is set to manual. Start the IMAPI CD Burner service and then test it by writing on a CD - R or a CD - RW. If the service is running, you may need to set the service to automatic if it does not start in manual mode.

To set the service to automatic, follow these steps:
    1. click on start, run, type services.msc /s in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. double-click on IMAPI CD - Burning COM Service.
    3. under the service status, click Start.
    4. try to write data to a CD.

    Good luck

  • Satellite M70-173 - cannot burn CDs or DVDs

    Hello

I have an old but expensive laptop (Satellite M70-173). The CD/DVD drive is a carpet * a UJ - 841 s and can currently only read DVDs and CDs
I have Nero installed 8.3.7.1, but it does not allow me to burn any DVD or CD
I have all the updates that are installed for Nero, have also removed the "upper and lower limits" in the registry.

It is not a mark of DVD or CD that I have not yet tried, but they all are coasters.

    I have the following options:

    1. try to set the drive - either with the technical assistance of the forum or replace the disk, so I decided that it is a hardware error

2 buy a new laptop - but also like some advise on how to "clone" of the current notebook that I have so many other programs installed that I bought over the years and do not want to lose.

I made copies pdf of burning errors I can post if necessary.

    Any help is welcome

    Kind regards
    Juan

    Hello!

    > I made copies pdf errors burning I can post if necessary.
    Yes, I think it's a good idea. ;)
Otherwise it of a bit difficult to help you.

But what CDs and DVDs you tried to burn? I have good experiences with Verbatim and TDK. Check it!
And you should burn on a lower speed for CD e. g. 16 x.

    Good bye

  • Burning CDs with Windows Media Player in Windows 7. "Error: connect a burner and restart the player.

Original title: CD burning with Windows Media Player in Windows 7

When I try to burn an audio CD with Windows Media Player, I get the message "connect a burner and restart the player.

I am able to burn audio CDs using ITunes, so I don't think that my CD/DVD burner is defective.

Thanks for your help.  The "fix it" has not worked, but I checked the settings of my Nero 8, Nero Toolkit, Nero Burn Rights program, and he was the one who said "everyone has burn rights" or "nobody burn rights.  When I changed the option to "everyone", everything started to work properly.

  • Satellite A40-231: cannot burn CDs or DVDs

    Hello

I can play CDs without problem, but I can't write them and DVD. I tried with Windows XP default recorder (by Roxio as he said), Nero and Infra Recorder but still had the same problem. Combustion process begins and finishes without errors with all of this software, but when I check the contents of the CD later, I see that nothing is written there, the CD is just considered as empty, or sometimes seen with 0 MB of available space, 0 MB total space.

I tried with the CD - r, CD - RW and the DVD but I got the same problem. I have 2 389 MB free in my disk space hard as he is seen by Nero for the ability of the temporary folder that it uses.

My DVD-R /-RW is recognized by Windows XP without problem and also, I installed the latest firmware from the site Web of Toshiba.

    Here are my specifications:

    Toshiba Satellite A40-231
Toshiba DVD - ROM SD-R6112 DVD-R /-RW DRIVE Firmware Version: 1333 (latest news on the site Web of Toshiba Driver)
System dual boot: Windows XP SP2 and Linux Debian Sarge

    Hello

In the manual of Toshiba, you compatible o is a list and supported the CDs and DVDs.
You must use these mediums as they are tested and should work correctly.

    Another tip:
Go to start > run > and start recording with a command regedit

    Delete values
upperFilter and UpperFilter of this key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

I've done on my laptop and noticed some improvements
